When it was translated into English by Eric Thompson (father of actresses [[Creator/EmmaThompson Emma]] and Sophie), rather than voice act the characters, he chose to narrate the whole thing himself. He dubbed the show based purely on the animation, including many gags that [[ParentalBonus appealed to parents]]. The other film, a CGI version titled simply ''WesternAnimation/{{The Magic Roundabout\|2005}}'' (2005), had a much more epic plot and was later released in the US [[HistoryRepeats (with all but two of the original British voices re-dubbed)]] as ''Doogal''. Despite its promise, the American release failed to capture the spirit of the original series and fell into obscurity.

Upon hearing that he might win, Dougal makes his way to the final hole and is about to hit the potato into the hole when he sees Florence glaring at him, making her displeasure of Dougal's cheating very clear, and Ermintrude's worried look. These what prompts him give in and deliberately misses the final hole by striking the potato far away from it.
80	** In "The Vegetables Are Revolting", Dougal plans to win the vegetable competition by using some of Florence's compost to grow his pumpkin to be large, as well as telling stories to the contestants, i.e. stopping watering the plants because of a water shortage. However, Zebedee soon teaches him a lesson by growing the pumpkin to be that gigantic and carved a Jack-O'-Lantern style face into the pumpkin before making the enchanted pumpkin to chase after Dougal.

As she was explaining that there was no fire since the pie only let off smoke because it was a little singed, Dougal tries to take a bite of the pie until Florence sternly moves it away from his open mouth as she continues to tell them off, making it clear that she is not letting Dougal having a bite of the pie or giving it to him for dinner after what just happened, before she angrily went back inside. Afterwards, Dougal notes to Dylan and Brian that the pie that Florence cooked and got drenched was going to be for his dinner.

Just as Dylan begins to feel devastated, Florence reassures him that Dougal will make up for it by helping Dylan make another scarecrow, as well as having to force Dougal into doing that by clearing her throat when he tries to worm his way out of this.
