1	[[https://literarytravesty.wordpress.com Library of the Damned]] was a website dedicated to riffing bad fanfiction. It was founded in 2011 by "Lyle", and quickly gained the aid of fellow riffers Ghostcat (AKA Ghostie), Taco Magic, Frozen Poodle Meat, Addicted Reader, and Psychic Librarian. As time passed, Frozen Poodle Meat and Psychic Librarian had to depart due to real life reasons, and AR left, came back, and seemingly left once more. "Lyle", Ghostcat, and Taco Magic had all remained full-time members of the staff, and four new permanent additions, Herr Wozzeck, Erttheking, SC, and Admiral Sakai had hopped onboard, although Erttheking went on extended hiatus before officially retiring in 2021 along with Herr Wozzeck. In 2018, former guest-riffer Batjamags joined the snark crew.

3	There was also a robust cast of infrequent guest riffers: Angie, agigabyte, Kitty Noodles, Delta XIII, Crazy Minh, Zeus Killer Productions, and [=Elysium16=]. The Library had riffed such infamous fanfics as ''FanFic/ItsMyLife'', ''FanFic/ForbidenFruitTheTempationOfEdwardCullen'' and ''FanFic/MyImmortal'', and had blown past two thousand five hundred posts by 2022, when it closed down.

5	Each full-time Librarian released a riff on their assigned day of the week, Monday through Saturday, though the schedule remained flexible to account for those pesky real life matters. Sundays were reserved for guest-snarkers, posted on a first-come, first-served basis. In lieu of a guest riff, the Librarians would occasionally post fan art or a special spotlight for good fanfiction on Sundays.

7	Between October 2021 and December 2021, the Library went on a abrupt hiatus, with no new riffs posted for more than two months. Batjamags and Admiral Sakai attempted to continue posting on a limited basis until March 2022. After over six months of absolute silence, it was unfortunately made clear by riffer SC that the Library was no longer an active project. While SC made it clear that there was a possibility that the site could make a comeback, he was clear that the Library was most likely closed as of September 30th 2022.

9	The site remains open and visible, but whether or not new content will be posted is unknown. However, several Librarians and Patrons have participated in a new, similar site, [[https://theasylumriffs.wordpress.com/ the Asylum]].

23	* CatchPhrase: Elysium has "What about his/her/their X?" whenever an author misspells the word "[[RougeAnglesOfSatin you're]]", and Rimura has "This just in, X" whenever something particularly odd happens.

30	** Herr Wozzeck employed a rapier for a short time as a dumb-author-beating-tool, but only because he accidentally broke his treasured Mahler hammer, Alma.

32	** CrazyMinh's starship (known as the "Bongo") is a starship of massive proportions that is equipped with cannons that fire rocket-propelled sledgehammers known as Furpvays.

35	* CostumePorn: Occurs in more than a few stories, but Shepard's dress-slash-armor from "X-Com: Mass Effect" was probably one of the worst offenders: A dress worn over a suit of armor that's somehow made of [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext ''alloy, micro generators and shield generators'']].
36	** Ridiculously impossible armor design seems to be a recurring theme in Library stories, from the "custom power/leather armor mesh" of "United under two skies" to the vacuum-sealed, adamantium hoodie from "Captain Rapist’s Half-Assed Adventure" (A.K.A. "Trapped").
37	* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: Elysium has red hair and red eyes, and Rimura has blue hair and blue eyes. No points for guessing who's who in the RedOniBlueOni dynamic.
38	* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: The DRD will frequently break in and interrupt the riffer whenever a fic becomes redundant.
39	* DudeLooksLikeALady: Rimura Chrysaethis has waist-length blue hair and wears long robes that could be mistaken for a dress, but he is very much a male.
40	* FlatWhat: A riffer is likely to do this on the heels of a character saying or doing something unbelievably dumb.
41	* FriendToAllChildren: Rimura takes the protection of children very seriously—he kills [[WouldHurtAChild Voicebox]] after she [[MoralEventHorizon murders an innocent little boy]], he [[KillItWithFire set Sally's uncle on fire]] for raping her, and is developing a hatred of [[Fanfic/SuperSmashBrosTheAnimatedSeries Meta Knight]] for his relationship with the child Kirby (as well as the author for treating it as a good thing).
42	* {{Hammerspace}}: Teh Specs has a storage pocket inside his own mind where he stores all the swords he collects. This has the drawback of decreasing his intellect with each new sword, though.

53	* ScheduleSlip: It's not as if riffers don't have lives, so this trope comes up fairly frequently. However, SC is especially guilty of this, sometimes going entire ''months'' on end without a single post.
54	** Lyle in particular completely vanished from the library in November of 2018, with the duties of posting guest riffs falling to Taco, Bats, and SC. TheBusCameBack on January 6th, 2020, though.
55	* SpellMyNameWithAnS: SC's full user handle is Specstacular SC. It has proven shockingly difficult for people to spell, hence why he simply goes by SC in his riffs.
