''Imminent Moose'' was a JournalComic written by Kyle Travers.

The series chronicled the life of the author through his day-to-day existence as a college student in Burlington, VT. Earlier strips focused on everyday dorm life but then shifted into focusing on apartment living and working retail. The comic was mostly self-reflective and often centered on the author’s life experiences and observations on life with sporadic appearances by friends and roommates.

Occasionally the strips took a more surreal turn in chronicling the struggles of Squid Fairy, a winged squid that grants wishes…pertaining to squids, as well as a short story about a snail’s dreams of flight and a trip into the refrigerator.

Updated weekly, but was occasionally subject to ScheduleSlip.

The comic went on hiatus in September 2013, but as of April/May 2014 started up again. The newer strips were focused around Kyle's graduation from college, his thoughts about that, and his continued adventures in retail.

The site's hosting went offline sometime in 2014 and the last snapshot is from February of that year [[https://web.archive.org/web/20140211223216/http://www.imminentmoose.com/ here]] but is incomplete. No archive has been located and the webcomic is considered lost.

!!This series provides examples of:

* ADayInTheLimelight: The "Frigid" story arc primarily focuses on Squid Fairy and his feelings of inadequacy.
* AnachronicOrder: The only thing set in stone about a strip's position in the timeline is which semester it took place in.
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent:
** A non-video game example: Though Kyle is the main character, a few comics have focused on other members of the cast such as Robin, Allison, or Eboney.
** The filler comics early in the series' run focus on a snail which has nothing to do with the author or the main cast.
* {{Animesque}}: The short saga of Kyle running to catch a bus.
* ArtEvolution: It's subtle, but there is a definite shift in style from the beginning strips to the current ones.
* AuthorAvatar: The main character IS the author.
* BerserkButton: [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1142992/026-not-ok/ Do not take Kyle's nutella]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Allison, as evidenced [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1111712/015-the-ballad-of-optimism-fairy/ here]] and [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1166653/035-allisons-wish/ here]].
* BigEater: Several strips focus on the author's love of food.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: Ryan and Kyle, respectively. Though, the series has not shown one being any less intelligent than the other.
* BishieSparkle: Tends to manifest when Kyle is pleased with something.
* BossSubtitles: Every character introduction.
* CloudCuckoolander:
** Allison, [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1104794/007-rawr/ most definitely]].
** Maybe Kyle, sometimes. Not nearly as much as Allison.
* CuteLittleFangs: Jeremy sports a pair of these.
%% * DemonHead
* DemotedToExtra: Several characters, most notably Scott, looked like they would have a bigger role when first introduced
* DramaticWind: The last panel of Frigid 24, as well as other occasions throughout the Frigid arc.
%% * DudeLooksLikeALady
* EldritchAbomination: [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1110263/013-reindeer/ Beware the reindeer]].
* EleventhHourSuperpower: Kyle and Squid Fairy get a massive power-up/gain new skills [[spoiler:when they are attacked by King Boreas's receptionist who goes all OneWingedAngel on them.]]
* ExpressiveHair: When excited, Kyle's hair will often curl upwards.
%% * FiveTokenBand
* ForcedTransformation: Kyle theorizes that some of the neighborhood cats might be humans cursed by witches.
* FreudianTrio: Detailed in terms of money [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1169422/040-an-almost-freudian-look-at-spending-money/ here]].
** Superego: Ryan
** Ego: Kyle
** Id: Robin
%% * HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Chico.
* KaleidoscopeHair: Kyle frequently changes his hair color on a whim.
* LongHairIsFeminine: This can be problematic for Kyle.
* MixAndMatchCritters: [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1130388/024-something-from-allison/ Introducing Fishamelphant]]
* MoodWhiplash:
** The month of comics detailing the chronicles of a snail who wishes he could fly is immediately followed up in June by a comic announcing that [[spoiler:Robin]] is leaving the school/main cast.
** Also, a comic poking fun at the strange noises Kyle's dormmate and his girlfriend made when she was visiting is followed up by an RIP comic for his cat, Hank.
* OddjobGods:
** Squid Fairy, who's only power is to grant wishes relating to squids.
** Allison uses this [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1166653/035-allisons-wish/ to her advantage]] .
* OminousOwl: [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1143006/027-hoo/ Of the stuffed variety]].
%% * NoIndoorVoice: Robin.
* PutOnABus:
** [[spoiler:Robin]].
** [[spoiler: After strip #118, "Through The Eyes," the WHOLE rest of the cast disappears. The only characters featured are Kyle, Squid Fairy, and the snail. This means that the list of characters currently on the bus is: Robin, Scott, Allison, Jeremy, Chico, Ryan, and Eboney.]]
%% * RealLifeWritesThePlot
%% * SassySecretary: Roz, the receptionist in "Frigid".
* SplashOfColor: The comic is done in grayscale save for Kyle's hair color.
%% * SpringIsLate
* StripBuffer:
** Happened at the beginning of the comic's run.
** Still happens occasionally, depending on the author's life at the time.
* TheCameo: The Snail makes an appearance, apparently living in the apartment Kyle and Squid Fairy share.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Kyle and Ryan in earlier strips of the comic.
* UnsoundEffect: The author prefers them in lieu of real sound effects.
* WeatherDissonance: [[http://www.imminentmoose.com/comics/1155764/032-lies/ Welcome to Vermont]]!
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Kyle has moments of this.
* WordSaladTitle: There is no moose anywhere in the comic. It is hard to tell if one is imminent, but there has been nothing pointing to that part being true either. This may be a StealthJoke in reference to the many "Moose Crossing" signs that are stationed all over Vermont.
