For the solemn few reading this, I am Tropers/VapourSoulOS. My appearances here aren't permanent.

!! Tropes that apply to Vapour Soul OS
[[folder: A to C]]
* AgeGapAlgebra: Due to a bad experience in high school where I developed an attraction to a girl younger than me (and never acted on it out of fear), I'm very mindful of age differences. [[{{Sockpuppet}} Bloom Seymour]] and I had an 8 year ago which made things quite difficult, so I believed that any "relationship" between us was doomed to failure. As it turned out, my feelings were actually platonic all along. Fortunately Bloom wasn't real and her creator Cibryll is 2 years older than me.
* ArtistsAreAttractive: I'm artistically talented and can be considered attractive. I've also noticed that some of women I was attracted to tended to also have artistic talent and creativity.
* UsefulNotes/Anarchism: I'm an Anarcho-Individualist who believes in my own power and doing things through my own force of will. I've also embraced Anarcha-Feminism which I believe is the logical conclusion of feminism's goals and is everything feminism should be.
* CelibateHero: As I've learnt, my life is actually far better when I engage in abstinence and avoid sex and romance. To this end, I'm an asexual man who also believes in antisexuality because it is against a lot of things I consider wrong with sexualized culture.
* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: I tend use a lot of colours in my work so I'll often use colour tropes either consciously or unconsciously.
* ChildHater: I do not like children. At all. I cannot stand their crying and whining and I find them utterly repulsive. As such, I go out of my way to avoid them or if physical avoidance is impossible at refuse to engage with them.
* {{CloudCuckoolander}}: My humour is crazy enough that I either come off as really strange. Hell, it was one of the reasons [[OddFriendship I ended up being friends with Bloom Seymour]], a sockpuppet of Cibryll's. However, this facet of my personality rarely has chance to manifest itself due to my serious demeanour.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: D to F]]
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Ever since ending The Aeonian Night, I've been on far better terms with Cibryll. Granted I was already friends with some of her sockpuppets and I still trusted her even back then.
* UsefulNotes/Depression: Due to my traumatic experiences during high school, I may've developed this at some point. I definitely did have it during my college days and while it's mostly gone, I do think it's possible that my general apathy towards life may've stemmed from depressive tendencies.
* {{Determinator}}: When I want to get something done, I'll do my damnedest to get it done.
** The Aeonian Night and my willingness to lead my friends to victory took several years but it was ultimately worth it and I never gave up.
* DreamRealityChecks: I'll look at all of my fingers on both sides, poke a finger through my palm and try to read text. It'd help if I were to do this more often to increase my lucid dream chances. As it turns out, learning to ask myself "Am I dreaming, ''right now''" is proving to be more helpful.[[note]]This slight change from the commonly recommended "Am I dreaming"? is more useful because it puts the focus on the present moment rather than just asking a question.[[/note]]
* DreamWeaver: I'm hoping that I can learn how to lucid dream, and I've had a few successful attempts of semi-lucidity but not the full on experience.
* EvilOverlord: I had a phase during my high-school days where I pretended to be one to cope with my frustration with my powerlessness. I eventually got over it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: G to L]]
* GameMod: I'm been working on one called Gun which involves a budding VillainProtagonist fighting giant machines in order to join their uprising. Aside from that, I've been hoping to make my own ROMHacks soon as well as playing Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS mods.
* KnightTemplar: As much as I want to do right, sometimes I have to take less than stellar methods to do the right thing.
* LastLousyPoint: My stance when it comes to finishing work near the end of the year. Also obtaining things in certain video games.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: My friendship with Tropers/Cibryll is much like this though this was after coming to grips with understanding platonic love and relationships. If anything, it can be considered an evolution of my friendship with Bloom Seymour though it seems to have become it's own wonderful thing.
* LoonyFriendsImproveYourPersonality: Again, Tropers{{/Cibryll}}. Also my other friends at the forums. As it turns out, this might end up being the case for any female friends I may have in the future.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: M to T]]
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: As I've said, some of my humor tends to make me come off as strange, I also like dark material (on the PsychologicalHorror or SurrealHorror side of things) and it does show to some degree.
* ObliquelyObfuscatedOccupation: If people start asking about my job, I will try to avoid the conversation because it's none of their business and I don't want anything I do being traced back to my workplace.
* OddFriendship: During the Aeonian Night, I've been friends (and had feelings for a few of) with some of Cibryll's sockpuppets. Bloom Leigh Seymour[[note]]Who I percieved as a CompositeCharacter of Cibryll's sockpuppets Bloom Seymour and her older sisters Charlotte and Ariana and several other sockpuppets.[[/note]] was one particular example that has made quite the impact on me, enough so that I wish to meet an attractive woman like her in terms of personality and interests. It's thanks to her that I seem to have an idea of what I'd want in a real flesh and blood woman.
* PrettyBoy: I've grown more into this archetype, though I tend to mix this with CarpetofVirility.
* PathOfMostResistance: When it comes to video games with multiple endings or secret levels/ true final levels, I'll end up doing those routes first.
* {{PeekABangs}}: My hair is long enough that it tends to cover both of my ears and the left side of my head.
* RedOniBlueOni: I dress in red and depict myself in red armour, yet I'm the Blue Oni to Troper/Cibryll's Red Oni.
* RuleAbidingRebel: I tend to follow the rules of my superiors though I much prefer to do my own thing. I'll only rebel when I've had enough of it all.
* {{Sampling}}: I've taken an interest in trying to "create" music tracks by cobbling together various parts of different tracks. So far I've done this for mods I've been working on. Sometimes it goes differently than I expected (such as it becoming an unintentional remix)
* SilentTreatment: Since I dislike using violence unless nessessary, the best way for me to deal with people that I hate or whom are in my bad books are to avoid them like the plague and flat out refuse to engage with them at all. For example I ended up doing this to my work supervisor after she rejected me because she already had a boyfriend and I felt that it would be manipulative and disingenuous to form a friendship with the ulterior motive of getting her to reciprocate my feelings for her at a later date.
* SurrealHorror: Some of my Photoshop creations tend to be the end result of this. The same could said of some of my drawings; when it comes to designing them for game concepts, I try to save them for endgame or postgame dungeons. (Unless of course the entire game has horror elements)
* TerseTalker: In the real world, I'm far less verbose because I'm not interested in talking to others and dislike small talk. At worst, this tendency becomes a case of EmptyShell.
* TheComicallySerious: Due to my serious demeanour combined with some of the things I say, this tends to be the end result.
* TheQuietOne: Most of the time, I tend to stay silent while thinking to myself. I cannot stand small talk because I simply do not see the point in it and it gets on my nerves.
* TookALevelInKindness: I was a major edgelord during my high-school days due to it being horrible. As a result, I took it out on internet denizens before joining the Vresun Ciraian Ruins Forums.

[[folder: Page Ideas]]
* A Useful Notes for Antisexualism.
* A Useful Notes for Limerence.
** Limerence might be connected to separation anxiety and intrusive thoughts. As it turns out, it also seems to be connected to a desire for the other person's validation.
* ''Series/TheVirtues''
* ''Literature/SoLucky''

!! Trope Ideas
* ''Absentee Main Character''': The titular main character is absent during most of the work, despite the work having their name on it.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/MegaManX7 X]], [[VideoGame/SparkTheElectricJester2 Spark the Electric Jester]], [[VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry2DiddysKongQuest Donkey]] [[VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry3DixieKongsDoubleTrouble Kong]], [[HarryPotterHogwartsMystery Harry Potter]], [[VideoGame/DiabloIV Diablo]]
** Compare: ArtifactTitle, DecoyProtagonist, NonPOVProtagonist
** Contrast: TheProtagonist, ReplacementScrappy

* '''Anarcho Darwinism aka Straw Anarchist''': A work conflates Anarchy with Social Darwinism.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIV Infernal Tokyo]], [[VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance Steven Armstrong]]

* '''Elemental Angel''': Angels that use or are associated with elemental powers other than holy light.
** Examples: Shin Megami Tensei (general), [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_angels_in_theology Religious theology]]
** Compare: AngelicAbomination, ElementalEmbodiment, ElementalHairColors, ElementalNation, ElementalShapeshifting, ElementalSpeed
** Contrast: NonElemental
NOTE: The name is borrowed from a TLP page that someone else created, because I thought it had potential. I'm not sure yet if elemental angels are a concept that is tropeworthy or if there is any demand for such a trope to be made so this one will be in stasis until I can find more examples.

'''Freezing Brimstone Hell''': Instead of the typical FireAndBrimstoneHell, Hell is portrayed as a cold place where EvilIsDeathlyCold is in full effect.
** Examples:
** Contrast:

* '''Main Character Syndrome''': A character's belief that they are the main character of a story or game causes them to dehumanize others and engage in selfish, if not outright sociopathic behavior.
** Compare: AllPowerfulBystander, {{Dehumanization}}, BadSamaritan, ItsAllAboutMe, LackOfEmpathy, {{Narcissist}}, TheSociopath, SociopathicHero, SmallNameBigEgo, VillainProtagonist
** Examples: [[Literature/AmericanPsycho Patrick Bateman]]
** Contrast: BystanderSyndrome, GoodSamaritan, HumbleHero, NonPlayerCharacter

* '''Multi-Phase Music''': Instead of separate tracks, a song may done as a movement (i.e a set self-contained tracks played in succession), as if to convey the grandiosity of the situation by portraying it as a continuous, unbroken event rather than split into several distictive parts.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI Dancing Mad]], [[VideoGame/MegaManXCommandMission Redips 1st-3rd Movements]], [[VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies Suite: The Star-Conquering Traveler]], [[VideoGame/Rayman3HoodlumHavoc Leptys, Bringer of Night]]
NOTE: I've noticed that a few final boss themes sometimes use this naming convention but it doesn't seem to be all that widespread. Perhaps certain types of musicals such as Movements or Suites could be added as examples to flesh out this particular idea.

* '''New Game Minus''' aka Nightmare New Game Plus: A second playthrough of a game is far more difficult because your enemies get stronger but you're back at square one.
** Examples: [[Franchise/{{Kirby}} games (Shinya Kumazaki era) (various Extra modes)]], [[VideoGame/LuminousAvengerIX2 (Hard Mode)]]
** Compare: HarderThanHard
** Contrast: NewGamePlus
NOTE: An inverted trope for NewGamePlus. Esoteric, but it could be quite interesting if enough examples can be found. However it could be a case of Administrivia/TooRareToTrope so it might not get very far in the Launch Pad.

* '''Multi-Incarnation Antagonist''': An antagonist who has multiple incarnations representing different stages of their lives, and can either represent their gradual descent into villainy or their personal issues, or a form of symbolism such as growing up. Depending on the work, the antagonist in question may actually interact with their previous selves though most of them never do.
** Examples: [[Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena Akio Ohtori and Prince Dios]], [[Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog Dr Robotnik (Classic) and Dr Eggman (Modern)]], [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Master Xehanort, Ansem - Seeker of Darkness, Xemnas, and Young Xehanort]] [[Webcomic/InvertedFate Flowey and Asriel Dreemurr]], [[Franchise/HarryPotter Tom Riddle and Voldemort]], [[WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse Phillip Wittibane and Emperor Belos]]
** Compare: DecompositeCharacter, EvilEvolves, FutureSelfReveal, LiteralSplitPersonality, MultiSlotCharacter, MyFutureSelfAndMe
** Contrast: CompositeCharacter, JekyllAndHyde, TwoAliasesOneCharacter
** NOTE: This might run the risk of being seen as TwoAliasesOneCharacter but more specific.

* '''Manosphere Menace''': A redo of Involuntary Celibate Villain. An antagonist who has traits reminiscent of either incels, [=MGTOW=], red-pillers, black-pillers, Pick-Up Artists or Men's Right Activists. Comes in two types: Characters based off of Manosphere types or Manosphere coded characters
** Examples (Manosphere Referenced): [[Film/DontWorryDarling Frank]], [[Series/SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw Intelligencia]], [[Series/LawAndOrderSpecialVictimsUnit Tony]], [[Series/LawAndOrderSpecialVictimsUnit Holden March]], [[Series/{{Hollyoaks}} Eric Foster]], [[Series/Evil2019 Sebastian Lewis]]
** Examples (Manosphere Coded): [[Series/PowerRangersWildForce Master Org]], [[Literature/TheStand Harold Lauder]], [[Literature/HarryPotter Severus Snape]], [[Literature/TheCollector Frederick Clegg]], [[VideoGame/{{Persona4}} Tohru Adachi]], [[Series/JessicaJones2015 Gregory Sallinger]], [[Series/{{Blackadder}} Prince Ludwig the Indestructible]], [[WesternAnimation/{{Megamind}} Tighten]]
** Compare: DoggedNiceGuy, EntitledToHaveYou, ConMan, MisanthropeSupreme
** Contrast: StraightEdgeEvil, NoLoveForTheWicked
NOTE: Its original version Involuntary Celibate Villain proved to be quite controversial, earning a lot of bombs despite the many examples given. Either it can be used for villains who are based off actual types of people in the Manosphere or fictional characters who have traits consistent with the Manosphere.
** NOTE: Alternate name could be Straw Manosphere to tie it in with StrawFeminist and StrawMisogynist. Though considering how Straw tropes aren't too popular, it's probably for the best if I don't go with this name.

* '''Mercy Mode Boss''': A specifically easy boss fight becomes available ''if'' the player either takes the easier path or if they're bad enough at the game that it takes decides to take pity on them. (Alternate Names: Pity Boss, Jobber Boss
** Examples: [[VideoGame/YuGiOhNightmareTroubadour Mokuba]](Yu-Gi-Oh Nightmare Troubadour, Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2004, Yu-Gi-Oh!: Stairway to the Destined Duel), [[VideoGame/StarFox64 Robot Andross]], Nought Celeritas (Solar Shadow 2)
** Compare: EasierThanEasy, EasyModeMockery, MercyMode, ZeroEffortBoss
** Contrast: HardModePerks, HarderThanHard, {{Superboss}}, TrueFinalBoss
** NOTE: I'm not even sure if this is an actual thing or if this isn't already covered in MercyMode.

* '''Minimalist Horror''': A type of horror that relies on minimalist descriptions and visuals, relying mostly on audience imagination to do the work.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/FlawedCrystals Perfect Crystal]]
** Compare: NothingIsScarier, {{Jumpscare}}, AloneWithThePsycho, PsychologicalHorror
** NOTE:

* '''Perverse Puritan''': Puritan coded characters are often portrayed as dour serious individuals who are also morally corrupt or sexually perverted and are generally unpleasant people. Not to be confused them with antisexuals who hate sex in general.
** Examples: [[WesternAnimation/TheHunchbackOfNotreDame Claude Frollo]], [[Literature/HarryPotter Severus Snape]], [[Franchise/TheSmurfs Gargamel]]
** Compare: CreepyGymCoach, CreepyUncle, DirtyOldMonk, EnlightenedAntagonist, NaughtyNuns, PedophilePriest, SeeminglyWholesomeFiftiesGirl, SexIsEvilAndIAmHorny, SinisterMinister
** Contrast: CelibateHero, GoodShepard, NunTooHoly
** NOTE:

* '''Real Monsters Are Mundane''': A villain whose is far scarier than any monster despite their mundane appearance, reflecting how you don't have to look like a monster to ''be'' one.
** Examples: [[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogIDW Hallucination!Dr Starline]], [[VideoGame/DeadlyPremonition Forrest Kaysen]], [[WesternAnimation/TheHunchbackOfNotreDameDisney Judge Claude Frollo]], [[VideoGame/{{Bioshock2}} Sofia Lamb]], [[Franchise/HarryPotter Dolores Umbridge]]
** Compare: BishonenLine, CompleteMonster, JerksAreWorseThanVillains, {{Mundanger}}, RealismInducedHorror, VileVillainSaccharineShow
** Contrast: EvilMakesYouMonstrous, OneWingedAngel, ScaledUp
** NOTE:

* '''Union of Opposites''': A special type of fusion where two or more completely opposing characters (e.g TheHero and the BigBad)
** Examples: [[Franchise/{{BIONICLE}} Takutanuva]], [[VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIVApocalypse Satan]],] Abraxas (Gnostic religion, Demian)
** Compare: CombiningMecha, CommieNazis, ElementalFusion, FusionDance, HailfirePeaks, OxymoronicBeing, SiblingFusion and YinYangBomb.
** Contrast: BodyHorror, BornOfHeavenAndHell, MergingMistake, YinYangClash
** NOTE:
* '''Version Exclusive Boss''': A boss or a Superboss is added to a different version of the game/is a OneGameForThePriceOfTwo deal/is added to an UpdatedRerelease or a ReformulatedGame or may play out differently depending on which version of the game you're playing.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/Rayman2TheGreatEscape Grolem 13 and Boss Biditank]], [[VideoGame/StreetFighter Akuma]], [[VideoGame/SuperMario64 Chief Chilly]], [[VideoGame/Puggsy The Beach Boss, Darkskull Castle Boss and Racrock Forge (SEGA CD Version)]] [[VideoGame/KingdomHearts Ice Titan, Sephiroth and Kurt Ziza (International ver), Unknown (Final Mix)]], [[VideoGame/SonicGenerations Death Egg Robot, Perfect Chaos and Egg Dragoon (Consoles) Big Arms, Biolizard and Egg Emperor (3DS)]], VideoGame/DigimonWorldDawnDusk, Mega Man Battle Network

* '''Version Exclusive Final Boss''': The FinalBoss and/or TrueFinalBoss fight is different in some versions of a game either due to the game being a OneGameForThePriceOfTwo kind of deal, a ReformulatedGame that is different to the original or because the fight was changed in an UpdatedRerelease.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/Rayman2TheGreatEscape Admiral Razorbeard (PS1 version)]], [[VideoGame/SonicGenerations Time Eater]], [[VideoGame/SonicLostWorld Death Egg Robot]], [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyLegendII The Arsenal aka Last Defence System]], [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyLegend III Ragna aka Xagor]], [[VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand Magolor Soul (True Arena)]], [[VideoGame/Rayman1 Mr Dark (Rayman GBC)]], [[VideoGame/SonicColours Egg Nega Wisp]], [[VideoGame/LiveALive Sin of Odio]]
** Compare: FinalBoss, ReformulatedGame, TwoGamesForThePriceOfOne, TrueFinalBoss, UpdatedRerelease
** Contrast:

!! Trope Launch
* FriendshipHatingAntagonist '''SUCCESS'''
* Involunatary Celibate Villain '''FAILIURE''' (Reason: Despite getting a lot of examples from different tropers, the community hated the draft enough to decide it deserved to be bombed)
* MainCharacterFinalBoss '''SUCCESS'''
* IndividualityIndex '''SUCCESS'''
* Straw Individual '''FAILURE''' (Reason: Nuked it myself because there was no demand for it)
* Community Index
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Scrapped Trope Ideas]]
* '''Final Hour Protagonist''': A character who is either not related to the protagonists or is an antagonist is now the protagonist of the last episode/chapter/few minutes of the story.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/SparkTheElectricJester3 Fark]]
** Compare: GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere, AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent
NOTE: The idea is quite esoteric but it could be quite interesting if I can get some examples for this. Alternate names for this could be Last Episode Main Character, 11th Hour Protagonist or Last Second Protagonist.
** NOTE (08/10/23) Now that I think about it, this is basically just AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent but more specific though who knows, I might be wrong about this.

* '''Referencing Old Antagonists''': A boss or a character that the protagonists fight tends to have a reference or two to older antagonists in the series.
** Examples: [[VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies Void Termina and Void]], [[Franchise/{{Kirby}} Soul bosses]], [[VideoGame/DragonQuestXI Calasmos]], [[VideoGame/DragonQuestVIII Dragovian Lord (Ultimate Dragon)]]
** Compare: AllYourPowersCombined, CallBack, {{Expy}}, ReusedCharacterDesign
** Contrast: BreakingOldTrends
** NOTE: Is this really trope worthy? It just seems like ContinuityNod but more specific.
** NOTE 2 (18/10/23): This idea is literally MeetTheNewBoss.

* '''NPC Promoted To Enemy''': Side characters end up used by an arc villain as one off antagonists or as part of their agenda, which often gives these characters more development.
** Examples: [[Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena Black Rose Duelists]], [[Anime/YuGiOhGX Society of Light]]
** Compare: BrainwashedAndCrazy, {{Cult}}, DayInTheLimelight, MonsterOfTheWeek, ReforgedIntoAMinion
NOTE: Much like Final Hour Protagonist, it could be interesting but it also seems to suffer from being overly specific. Then again, perhaps it could use a different name such as Side Character Turned Minion, Side Character Minion
NOTE (20/10/23): This is already covered by TemporarilyAVillain.
