{{Physical God}}s in anime and manga.
----

* The higher-ranked Gods/Goddesses and Demons from ''Manga/AhMyGoddess'' ''appear'' to be physical gods, but this may be deceptive -- their physical bodies are mere virtual projections generated by Yggdrasil, the world-computer. Furthermore, unless they wear a limiter device, their full divine power manifests so easily through these projections that they could accidentally crack a planet in half. For example, in the ''[=AMS=]'' movie Belldandy removes her limiter and takes a direct blast from Heaven's ultimate weapon -- and it doesn't even muss her hair.
** On the other hand, with their limiters on, they are quite vulnerable to being killed by something as simple as a bullet. They have been mentioned as in mortal danger from a large physical object hurling towards them, and they '''will''' die if their projections are killed.
** Early in the series they were stated to truly exist on a very higher-dimensional plane of existence, which would make their true selves, that monitor and keep all of existence running, literally omnipotent and immune to all 3D harm. In this context the manifestation forms without limiters would simply be a very slight adjustment of how much of that power they are allowed to use for personal purposes. Later this seems to have been diverged from, or at least not mentioned, to keep them "scaled down" and relatable.
* ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'': By the end of the series, [[spoiler:Eren Yeager becomes this. Once he comes in contact with Zeke, which his Founding Titan powers, as well as convinces Ymir Fritz to help him start [[ApocalypseHow the Rumbling]], Eren is pretty much a god in the ''Attack on Titan'' world, having full control of the Subjects of Ymir / Eldians, which includes being able to alter their memories and even biology, and thousands of Colossal Titans at his disposal. He is also able to summon past Titan Shifters for a more intelligent army. The ''only'' reason the heroes are able to kill him is because he allowed them to; otherwise, he would have destroyed the ''entire world'' by himself.]]
* Arguably, Yujiro Hanma from ''Manga/BakiTheGrappler''. The guy has SuperStrength, is NighInvulnerable, and can ''punch the forces of the nature in the face'' (the Other Wiki states it too). Also covers the point of [[MySignificanceSenseIsTingling Limited Omniscience]], doesn't fly but can jump from an helicopter without parachute, and does everything just by CharlesAtlasSuperpower. And the full martial arts world plainly ''worships'' him as the Strongest Creature over the world. Maybe more of a Physical Demon. Heavens, he is called the Ogre.
* ''Anime/{{Bakugan}}'': There are some Bakugan that are so powerful that they are capable of obliterating a planet or even the entire universe.
** Dragonoid aka Drago is the biggest example thanks to his many evolutions and gained new power from other sources to defeat other Bakugan with god-like power.
** Wavern was originally a powerless Bakugan but after she absorbed the Infinity Core she became this.
** Naga after absorbing the Silent Core is another example he’s capable of defeating his sister Wavern who at the time had the Infinity Core in her.
** The Legendary Soldiers are Bakugan with God-like abilities and we considered to be legends to all Bakugan. They are so powerful that the BigBad of the second season wanted to use their power by transfer their attribute energies into a machine to wipe out all Bakugan from existence.
** Neo Ziperator could possibly be another since was the holding of The Element, a portion of an energy source called the Sacred Orb.
** Dharak is another example, he is the descendant of the original Dharak and has inherited his ancestors' incredible power, he becomes more powerful by evolving into Phantom Dharak and gaining his Mobile Assault mode becoming Dharak Colossus and was able to fight Lumino Dragonoid. [[spoiler: He becomes more powerful after mutated into Razenoid and later in his evolved form.]]
** Mechtavius Destroyer is possibly the strongest villain in the series and the greatest threat to the entire universe seeking [[OmnicidalManiac to wipe out all humans and Bakugan alike]], the only being powerful enough to stop him was Aeroblitz a fusion of Fusion Dragonoid and Reptak.
* ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'', has [[OurDemonsAreDifferent the Godhand]]. While normally they are [[PowersThatBe not physical beings]], they are nigh-omniscient entities capable of affecting the physical world through [[WindsOfDestinyChange manipulating fate]], and have two methods to manifest on Earth. One is by possessing objects, but by doing so they are unable to use their powers to its fullest extent. The other is the Incarnation Ceremony, which they can perform once every 1,000 years to incarnate in the physical realm as themselves. They ''absolutely'' qualify when they do the latter, capable of empowering the setting with magic, and [[SpaceMaster manipulate dimensions]] at will. [[FallenHero Femto]] manifests through the latter method, [[spoiler:by corrupting the child of Casca during her brief time in the Nexus (a plane of existence where the physical and Astral realms intersect) and then use the child's body to reincarnate with the Incarnation Ceremony]]. After he does this, he proves capable of performing feats like empowering the continent with magic, and... see below.
** After [[spoiler:Femto merges the physical and Astral realms with the help of two other unrelated {{Reality Warper}}s, the other members of Godhand are now also capable of freely manifesting in the new world]].
* ''Manga/BlackClover'':
** The elves had such great magical power that they were worshipped as gods in the past. When they're reincarnated, their sheer power intimidates most of the Magic Knights they face.
** Julius is the Clover Kingdom's Wizard King, denoting him as the kingdom's strongest Magic Knight. He's so powerful with his [[TimeMaster Time Magic]] that Licht, an elf, sees him as an all-powerful obstacle sent by nature itself.
** Mereoleona is regarded as the most powerful female Magic Knight in the Clover Kingdom. She wipes the floor with Rhya, who's the strongest member of the Third Eye and an elf. Rhya wonders if she's even human and before she burns him alive he notes that her strength is an unknown human one.
** [[spoiler: Lucius Zogratis is stated to be more powerful than his other self Julius, and he proved it by [[CurbStompBattle easily defeating]] Asta by outmaneuvering him strategically, and he’s the only character to have three magic attributes, Soul, Time, and Gravity. Ryuya even notes that his Soul Magic is now strong enough to ''create people out of nowhere'' in addition to brainwashing people in one touch and reviving dead people]].
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** [[BrokenAce Sosuke Aizen]] was already TheAce by the standards of Soul Reapers, but his goal was to eventually become this and usurp the throne of the Soul King. After he implants the Hogyoku into his chest he becomes more and more powerful until his spiritual pressure can no longer be sensed by any but the strongest beings, which he compares to how two-dimensional beings would be unable to properly perceive a three-dimensional one and claiming it as proof he has "[[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence transcended]]" mere mortals. [[SubvertedTrope Then]] the Hogyoku seemingly [[DePower takes away said power-ups]] upon his defeat, [[DoubleSubversion only for his power to grow]] while in Muken to levels beyond what they were when he fought Ichigo.
** In the Thousand Year Blood War arc, [[TheHero Ichigo]] learns that he is a hybrid of Soul Reaper, Quincy, Hollow, and Human, with a potential that reach to unimagined heights. The manifestation of his Quincy powers even reveals to him that the amount of power that he has been using up to that point, was only a part of how powerful he could truly be. Once he realizes his potential, and forges his true Zanpakuto, Ichigo evolves into a transcendent being capable of fighting four Sternritters simultaneously with little effort, and even fighting againts a Soul King-empowered Yhwach, who even feared the capability of his true Bankai so much, that he used The Almighty to destroy before Ichigo could even use it against him. Even when deprived of his Quincy and Hollow powers, Ichigo still possessed enough raw power to kill Yhwach, and Ichibei was intending on using Ichigo as a replacement for the Soul King.
** The [[TheOmnipotent Soul King]] is for all intents and purposes the {{God}} the ''Bleach'' unvierse, being the supreme being that sustains all of reality, including Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and the Human World. Without its presence, all of the dimensions would crumble. However, it is possible for someone to takes its place as long as they have a comparable amount of Spiritual Power, such as his son Yhwach, who absorbed the Soul King into himself. He couldn't even assimilate all of him. Even the fragments of its being are individually powerful enough to qualify for this trope:
*** [[PiecesOfGod Pernida Parnkgjas]] is the animate left hand of the Soul King. Rather appropiately, it possesses seveal godlike abilities, most notably the power of evolution. It has a twin named Mimihagi, who was the right arm of the Soul King, which governs Stagnation.
*** [[BoisterousBruiser Gerard Valkyrie]] is revealed to be the animate heart of the Soul King. Therefore, posseses unbelievably power, most notably to convert every attack dealt to him into a power-up to make himself bigger, and harder to kill. This makes him almost impossible to defeat, and the protagonists never do get the chance to kill him, as [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness Yhwach does the deed for them.]]
** [[GodEmperor Yhwach]] becomes a transcendent being when he absorbs the Soul King. Even before this however, he was worshipped as the "Father of the Quincy" and has the ability to impart pieces of his soul unto others, but he also possesses "The Almighty", a power that allows him to see the future, and "know" and counter any ability he sees. [[BilingualBonus The kanji used to spell "The Almighty"]] -- ''zenchizennou'' -- even means "All-Knowing, All-Powerful". Then he kills and absorbs the Soul King, which transforms Yhwach into a [[HumanoidAbomination eldritch godly being]], and taking the Soul King's place as the linchpin of all reality. As the new Soul King, he could manipulate and bend all dimensions to his will, or even erase all of them from existence if he desired to do so. It's later revealed that the true power of The Almighty, allows him to [[WindsOfDestinyChange alter every possible future to suit his advantage]], even from beyond the grave. In the final battle, he comes dangerously close to destroying all of existence, and replacing it with a world without death, and is only killed by Ichigo with a well-timed slash from Zangetsu, and only after he is shot from behind with the Still Silver Arrow to disable his powers and prevent Yhwach from resurrecting himself with The Almighty. Even after his death, his corpse contains enough Reiatsu to continue serving as the linchpin of reality.
** Sternritter 'V', [[CreepyChild Gremmy Thoumeaux]] claims to be the strongest of the Sternritter, second only to Yhwach himself. This claim is shown to be almost completely justified by both his immeasurable amount of Spiritual Power, and his Schrifft granting him the ability to [[RealityWarper alter reality]] itself to the will of whatever he [[ImaginationBasedSuperpower imagines]]. His power was feared by both Haschwalth and Askin, and he was able to fight on par with Kenpachi Zaraki, a top contender for the title of strongest Soul Reaper in the series. The only reason he lost at all was because, when he tried to imagine himself being as strong as Kenpachi, [[HoistByHisOwnPetard he couldn’t contain Kenpachi's overwhelming power and immeasurable spiritual pressure]], leading to [[SuperpowerMeltdown his body breaking down]] until only his BrainInAJar was left.
** Sternritter 'X', [[ColdSniper Lille Barro]], is the very first Quincy granted a Schrift by Yhwach, and is by far one of the most powerful Sternritters in the Vandenreich, able to access a second form of his [[OneWingedAngel Vollständig]] that transforms him into a transcendent being. He himself states that he is closer to a God than a human. In the end, only a weapon that was specifically designed to kill Gods could hurt him, and even that didn't fully destroy him (though it certainly [[VillainousBreakdown pissed him off]]).
%%* In ''Literature/{{Campione}}'', the Heretic Gods and the titular campiones ("godslayer magicians") are this in a nutshell.
* In ''Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex'', there are quite a lot of these. Anything classified as gods in myths and religions qualify, since this series is set in a fantasy setting with FantasyKitchenSink and AllMythsAreTrue. Special mention however, goes to...
** The [[OurAngelsAreDifferent Archangels]]. The only one who appears more than once is [[ArchangelGabriel Gabriel]], but this is mainly because of their [[StoryBreakerPower ridiculous power]]. Even when accidentally summoned by [[spoiler:Touma's father]] and thus significantly weakened, [[RealityWarper it can still cause reality-warping disasters]]. When he is summoned more correctly by [[spoiler:Fiamma of the Right]], the angel almost destroyed the entire planet and according to [[spoiler:Fiamma]], this is ''nowhere near its maximum strength''.
** Any level 5 espers that awaken into [[spoiler:angels]]. Especially true for Accelerator, when in volume 22 he [[spoiler:[[AscendedToAHigherPlaneOfExistence ascends into the Aeon of Horus]] and deflects what is essentially a world-destroying disaster with no visible effort]].
** Then there's [[BigBad Fiamma of the Right]]. The guy can do telepathy to insult people from the other side of the planet, can hit you with an ''[[OneHitKill instant kill attack]] [[AlwaysAccurateAttack that hits you no matter where you are in the world]] [[PowersDoTheFighting that also defends himself passively since it can also destroy attacks]]'', and [[spoiler:summon the aforementioned Gabriel]]. This guy could take on an entire world and win. [[spoiler:Which he ''does'', although...see below]].
** What Fiamma tries to achieve, [[AbstractApotheosis La Persona Superiore a Dio, or The One Above God]], is basically this trope. Also, the being [[spoiler:currently [[SealedEvilInACan sealed]] inside Touma's right hand]]. Called the [[EldritchAbomination "Invisible Thing"]], [[spoiler:it manages to scare the shit out of the aforementioned Fiamma after he gets that goal of his]].
** Aleister Crowley somehow manages to be worse. He can ''[[spoiler:exist at [[RealityWarper more than one location at the same time]]]]'' and possesses ''two'' [[InfinityPlusOneSword items]]: The Blasting Rod [[spoiler:which can take down the aforementioned Fiamma with one hit. By overpowering that OneHitKill he possesses]], and Archetype Controller [[spoiler:[[RealityWarper which can manipulate the]] [[UsefulNotes/CarlJung Jungian Archetypes]] [[RealityWarper of everything]], which would be the equivalent of manipulating ''{{trope}}s'', in a way. He used this to literally create the entire Science Side (and presumably its espers too) and the modern day magecraft]].
** The EnigmaticEmpoweringEntity of Aleister, Aiwass, takes the cake. [[AmbiguousGender It]] is explicitly the most powerful being in the series, [[spoiler:[[CurbStompBattle slaughtering]] [[SuperpowerLottery Accelerator]] with its ''unconscious defenses'']], and is (seemingly) the one that allows Aleister to do all the stuffs he could do.
** Somewhat better example is Othinus, who possess the title of Majin or Magic God, said to be the peak of magical power and talent. She is able to defeat [[spoiler:Touma]] ''and'' [[spoiler:the Invisible Thing]]. Then, she makes a draw while saving her subordinate during her fight against the [[spoiler:aforementioned Fiamma]] and Ollerus, the former being [[spoiler:a powerful Physical God on his own]], and the latter is an [[TheArchmage Archmage]] powerful enough to defeat a [[PersonOfMassDestruction Level 5 esper]] without even ''trying''. This is all without her RealityWarper abilities, which is limited by the omnipotence paradox, making the success rate of her Reality Warp is always 50/50. [[spoiler:When she ''does'' overcome this, she destroys the universe with a thought before recreating it over and over again to torture Touma]]. [[spoiler:The only ones who are unaffected are Aleister, Aiwass, and the other Magic Gods]].
** [[AlwaysABiggerFish Overshadowing Othinus and Aiwass above]] are the [[spoiler:[[SocietyOfImmortals True]] [[PowersThatBe GREMLIN]]]] group, a group of Magic Gods each more powerful than Othinus ever was, having overcome their omnipotence paradox long ago and [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence ascended to their own]] PocketDimension giving them CompleteImmortality, for a while they have been manipulating the entire universe to their liking. That is, [[spoiler:until Aleister Crowley [[OutGambitted out-gambits them]] and cast them down to Earth, stripping them of their immortality]]. Then, [[spoiler:two characters specifically designed to [[KillTheGod combat gods]] (Kihara Noukan and Kakeru Kamisato, which may or may not qualify for this trope) kick the asses of most of them]].
* [[BigBad Embryo]] from ''Anime/CrossAnge'' is a huge case of this trope. He's a being that created the universe that wanted humanity to be strong but due to racism he wants to [[OmnicidalManiac wipe everything out]], one of his powers is to [[NoSell never get hurt unless you're in his dimension]] as [[StoryBreakerPower he has infinite amount of clones which means whenever you wipe one out he will come back again]]. The only way to get to that dimension is the Vilkiss. He also has powers to brainwash people, he can fire eye lasers to burn off flesh and melt ice, can perform the [[WaveMotionGun Endless Song]] and also [[RealityWarper manipulate reality]] and resurrect the dead. There's a reason why everyone calls him god.
* ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'' has a good number of them.
** King Drasil is the God and ruler of the Digital World, though it’s primary form is a enormous sacred tree called the Server Tree, it has taken other forms as well. It’s powers back up his status as a god, Yggdrasil has demonstrated the ability to predict the future, and transcends time and space. It can manipulate space-time, since planned to move the Digital World to another universe, and it alone was able to seal the dimensional barrier at the end of Digimon Savers, and has power over life and death.
** Shakamon is rumored to be the closest thing to King Drasil in the Digital World, she’s also the one who’s protected the eastern Digital World since ancient times. Though she’s a loving Digimon who doesn’t wish to harm others Digimon, but it’s said that fighting Shakamon is pointless as she can fit any Digimon on the palm of her hands and have them fight an illusion until they are exhausted, both mentally and physically.
** The Royal Knights that serve King Drasil are known to the Digimon as Guardian Deities and the Digital Worlds Sacred Guardians that will only assemble by the time of the Digital Worlds greatest crisis.
** Olympos XII is a group of Digimon that rival the Royal Knights in power, they can be considered this as well since each member is named after a deity from Roman Mythology.
** The Digimon Sovereigns are deities in the Digital World, even among Mega level Digimon, these guys are in a whole other level, represented by the extra Digicores they keep outside their bodies.
** Susanoomon is said to be a destructive god and a god which governs over regeneration. It is told that when the Network System descends into chaos, it will erase the existing system, and create a new one. It wields the "ZERO-ARMS:Orochi", which emanates a gigantic sword of light.
* The various gods in ''Franchise/DragonBall'' fit the criteria, though the other main characters are generally stronger.
** Kami is called the God of Earth but it’s mostly in the title. He was the strongest character until ''Z'', where Goku and Piccolo Jr. had surpassed him and new characters show that they’re also more powerful than him, but he still remained stronger than most of the cast until the Saiyan Saga in which he trained the Z fighters to surpass him.
** Dende becomes Kami’s successor as the God of Earth at the end of the Cell Saga, even though he’s only this in name and most of the cast is stronger than him.
** The Kais are the closest thing the series have to actual gods. They have many mystical abilities like being able to create objects and clothing out of thin air, heal, bring out the hidden powers of others, telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation. They are also very strong, their strength depending on their status. The lower Kais like King Kai are weaker than an elite Saiyan, while the weakest Supreme Kai is below Super Perfect Cell with the strongest being able to fight on par with Majin Buu.
** Out of the main heroes, Goku fits this trope best. He was already powerful enough to fight against beings that are considered to be godlike in power. However by the time of ''Super'', he becomes a literal god in ''Battle of Gods'' by becoming a Super Saiyan God, during his battle with Golden Frieza he uses another godly form called Super Saiyan Blue, which is a more powerful transformation than Super Saiyan God. In the Tournament of Power, Goku goes even further than that eventually reaching a point where he is AboveTheGods in a state known as Ultra Instinct, [[spoiler: and during the Galactic Prisoner Saga, after some training from Merus, he is capable of entering Ultra Instinct at will.]]
** Vegeta manages to become one too after some training from Whis. In his battle against Golden Frieza, he easily defeats him in his Super Saiyan Blue form with no difficulty and during the Tournament of Power he managed to unlock a new form of Super Saiyan Blue that was strong enough to match Jiren and overpower Toppo in his God of Destruction form. [[spoiler: In the Galactic Prisoner Saga, it was stated by Goku that he managed to surpass him, and that was during Vegeta’s fight with Moro before he absorbs Seven-Three, and during his fight with Granolah he achieves another new form called Ultra Ego, which seems to draw upon a severe level of self-indulgence in battle, in contrast to Ultra Instinct and in this form, he was able to overpower Granolah in battle.]]
** Piccolo is also a good fit. He already had the arsenal of mystical abilities from his Namekian heritage, including a HealingFactor, [[MindOverMatter limited telekinesis]], {{telepathy}}, ExtendableArms, [[SizeShifter size shifting]], and the ability to [[TheAssimilator assimilate]] fellow Namekians to get stronger. Not to mention he ends up becoming the strongest Namekian period, even bestowing a "Super Namek" status. But he fits best when he fuses with Kami, who served as a guardian overlooker god of Earth, and takes his place for a while. It's particularly notable that Piccolo is the only one of the main heroes to overshoot the impossibly strong Saiyans on two occasions, even after [[SuperMode Super Saiyan]] was introduced. [[spoiler: In the movie, ''Super Hero'', he makes a wish using earth’s Dragon Balls to unlock his full potential, in addition he also gained a SuperMode called Orange Piccolo, a form powerful enough to defeat Gamma 2 easily and fight on par with Cell Max, a Bio-Android created to be stronger than the original Cell]].
** For his time, Frieza was considered the closest thing to a physical god to the point that ''Vegeta'' didn't want to even consider fighting him until he gained immortality. His telekinesis rivaled those of the Kais and he has extreme survivability that allows him to live in space and survive with most of his body missing. What makes Frieza really scary, however, is that he was born powerful. When he did set his mind to becoming stronger he became the second strongest villain in the series at the time, and that's if you count Beerus as a villain. If Frieza had Goku's work ethic, he would have been truly invincible on Namek.
** Gohan is basically this during certain parts of the series. After gaining access to his Ultimate Form, he becomes the first opponent to actually overpower Super Buu handily, who was roughly even with Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, which forced Buu to absorb Gotenks and Piccolo to regain the advantage. Even then, after Gotenks' fusion time ends, Goku muses that Gohan could still beat Buu without resorting to Potara Fusion even with the added power of Piccolo, Goten and Trunks, which was only prevented by Buu absorbing Gohan. In ''Super'', after retraining himself and regaining access to his Ultimate power-up. When he spars with Goku in Episode 90, [[spoiler: he's able to fight evenly his father as a Super Saiyan Blue, and Goku needed to stack Kaioken on top of it to knock him out in one hit.]] [[spoiler:In ''Super Hero'', after witnessing Cell Max beat Piccolo to a pulp, Gohan snaps and transforms into Gohan Beast, a form that was powerful enough to effortlessly defeat Cell Max.]]
** Majin Buu, an EldritchAbomination so powerful that he killed off several real gods prior to the start of the series. He has the most powerful regeneration in the series (capable of returning [[FromASingleCell from a single atom]]), has powerful [[MindOverMatter telekinesis]], VoluntaryShapeshifting, ability to turn [[ForcedTransformation anyone into anything else]] (usually some form of confectionery which [[ImAHumanitarian he eats]]), doesn't age (he's older than the universe itself), PowerCopying, limitless stamina, absorption of others to acquire their strength and abilities, can annihilate a planet's population without destroying the actual planet, break dimensions just by screaming, can casually blow up [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnVB_4GXYns stars]] in his weakest state (he did this ''millions'' of times), and {{teleportation}} which he copied from an actual god. All of this on top of the standard super strength/super speed/flight/etc. power set that everybody else has, only cranked to insane degrees- in his weakest form he one-shotted Super Saiyan 2 Gohan and the aforementioned Dabura, and curb-stomped Super Saiyan 2 Majin Vegeta. At his ''strongest''? He can [[OmnicidalManiac cause the entire universe to collapse on itself]] just by ''getting angry and screaming really loudly.'' Save for Beerus, Buu is more of a god than the actual gods.
** Vegito, the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, was already this, being the strongest character in the manga, surpassing the power of literal gods, and easily toying with the strongest form of Majin Buu as a normal Super Saiyan. However, he literally becomes a god in ''Super'' since Goku and Vegeta now have god forms and was able to fight on par with Fused Zamasu in his corrupted state.
** Gogeta, the other fusion of Goku and Vegeta is this too. In his debut, Gogeta immediately goes Super Saiyan, and was able to defeat Janemba in less than ''two minutes''. In GT as a Super Saiyan 4, he was toying with Omega Shenron not taking him seriously, and could have defeated him if they hadn’t defused. [[spoiler:In his official Canonical appearance, He was able to fight on par with Broly, and even ''shatter the fabric of reality itself twice'', and when he went Super Saiyan Blue, Broly never stood a chance and was overpowered by him]].
** While there have been various gods appearing in the series, Beerus the BigBad of TheMovie ''[[Anime/DragonBallZBattleOfGods Battle of Gods]]'' and its accompanying arc in ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'', is a ''god''-god, the [[GodOfEvil God of Destruction]] to be exact, and as literal as the trope gets. He's stated to be capable of destroying ''entire galaxies'' and his power exceeds Goku's to the point he can [[CurbStompBattle curbstomp]] his Super Saiyan 3 form with a [[FingerPokeOfDoom finger]]. Goku needs to become a god himself in order to stand a chance against him, and even then Beerus only got a good workout.
** Beerus's twin brother, Champa, the God of Destruction of the Sixth Universe, is one too. Though he's slightly weaker than his twin, according to Whis' sister, Vados, due to laziness and gluttony, it's stated by Vados that their fight at full power could destroy ''both of their universes''.
** [[spoiler: Whis, who is more powerful than even Beerus. On a scale of 1 to 10, the author rates him a ''15''. He is also Beerus' teacher and has the power to rewind time by three minutes. Whis could be called a God of a God, though he has denied being a god himself whenever asked. The aforementioned Vados is here too since she is Whis' sister and said to be slightly stronger than even him (or at least that was thousands of years ago, Whis comments that may have changed). It's eventually revealed that he and Vados are [[OurAngelsAreDifferent actually angels]]]].
** ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'' introduces the [[TopGod God to end all Gods]], Zeno the [[GodEmperor Omni-King]], who makes Gods of Destruction, Beerus and Champa, cower in fear. Beerus states that Zeno could [[PersonOfMassDestruction wipe out]] TheMultiverse in a matter of seconds, if he wished to do so (which he does in an AlternateTimeline and leaves it a big blank void). Fortunately he is an example of GodIsGood, and is a benevolent [[ImmortalImmaturity child-like deity]]. [[spoiler: At least for the most part since he did wipe out six universes in the past. They used to be eighteen instead of just twelve. During the Tournament of Power he casually erases seven more universes due to losing the tournament.]]
** Prior to Goku Black’s debut, he [[spoiler: killed off all of the literal gods in Future Trunks' timeline.]] He was then shown to outclass Future Trunks, and was evenly matched with Super Saiyan 2 Goku in his base form, with Trunks implying Black was at least as strong as Super Saiyan 3 Goku. After their battle in the past, he grows even stronger, [[spoiler: becoming capable of standing his ground against for Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta in his base form. On top of his immense raw power, Black has also displayed an assortment of strange powers, like being able to manifest as a Living Shadow (although this could have been an artistic choice to hide his true form), growing stronger from each battle experience, Goku's Instant Transmission technique, and his own transformation called Super Saiyan Rosé, He is easily the most powerful foe Goku has faced aside from Beerus. Later, it's revealed he's literally a god, as he is Zamasu in Goku's body.]]
** Zamasu is an apprentice Supreme Kai from Universe 10, the gods of creation in the Dragon World. He is also ''much'' stronger than the Supreme Kais from Universe 7 since he can stand up to Super Saiyan 2 Goku after he has been trained by Whis. [[spoiler: [[TookALevelInBadass His future counterpart is even more powerful]], being able to give Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku a good fight ''and'' he's an immortal]].
** [[spoiler:[[FinalBoss Merged Zamasu]], the [[FusionDance Potara Fusion]] of the aforementioned Black and Zamasu, is this by default.]]
** Future Trunks becomes this in ''Super''. In the manga, he has power rivaling Super Saiyan 3 Goku (and by extension Buu) as a "Mastered" Super Saiyan 2, and on top of that, [[spoiler:Shin dubbed him a Supreme Kai apprentice]]. In the anime, he goes even further with "Super Saiyan Rage", which put him squarely in God tier, being the equal of, or slightly stronger than, [=SSB=] Goku and Vegeta, and with the energy of everyone on the planet allowed him to beat Fused Zamasu to a draw and destroy his physical form.
** Like Whis and Vados, the Grand Priest, [[spoiler: Whis and Vados' father]], isn't classified as a god, he's only an attendant to Zen'o. However, he's one of the five strongest people in the multiverse. ''Whis'' says he would have no chances against him. In manga it is told that he's ''the'' strongest. So he's only below Zen'O in power.
** Top is a God of Destruction candidate, which makes him this by default. In the manga he even notes that he'll let Top take the title "any day now", implying Top's level of power is indeed on the level of a God of Destruction, albeit maybe a weaker one. While Jiren is stronger then him, Top sits comfortably as one of the strongest fighters in the tournament, with only Ultra Instinct Goku and Vegeta's temporary rage-boosted power being outright stronger than him. Furthermore, Top can become a true God of Destruction if he wishes, granting him the same powers as other gods, if not as refined.
** Jiren is much stronger than Top, since he’s the strongest mortal in TheMultiverse. If Top is a potential God of Destruction and able to match Goku in Super Saiyan Blue, Jiren is definitely this. Episode 100 makes it clear his reputation is well-earned when he stops a rampaging Kale easily, who had previously manhandled a suppressed Super Saiyan Blue Goku. [[spoiler:Episodes 109/110 in the anime and chapter 30 in the manga confirm that Jiren is stronger than even Belmod, ''before'' he goes full power. Goku throws everything he has at Jiren (including a spirit bomb pushed by a Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken x20 in the anime and a pseudo-Kaio-ken stacked on top of his "Completed" Super Saiyan Blue in the manga) and none of it is enough to so much as budge the heavily suppressed Jiren. Even achieving a new form beyond Blue doesn't help, as Jiren simply TurnsRed and regains the advantage.]] In fact the only reason Top is chosen as the God of Destruction candidate over Jiren was because Jiren wasn't interested and turned it down, much like Goku and Vegeta did.
** Broly, especially his [[CanonImmigrant Super incarnation]]. What makes him so utterly terrifying is his insane AdaptiveAbility that is monstrous even among Saiyans. Over the course of ''Anime/DragonBallSuperBroly'', he starts off as barely being able to keep up with base Vegeta and keeps on ascending in power to the point where he overwhelmed both Goku and Vegeta whilst in their PhysicalGod forms, along with laying an absolute CurbStompBattle upon Golden Frieza who was a PhysicalGod in his own right at that point. In fact it took a FusionDance between Goku and Vegeta, basically ''two'' gods combined, to finally put a stop to Broly's rampage and even ''that'' didn't kill him so he could potentially return again ''even'' stronger.
** Moro the Planet Eater counts. He’s so immensely powerful that he was giving a CurbStompBattle to South Supreme Kai and Grand Supreme Kai at the same time, and this was a Grand Supreme Kai who would've been able to easily take out Buu. The only way the Grand Supreme Kai was able to beat him was to permanently sacrifice the majority of his power into one attack to seal his magic away. [[spoiler: Moro becomes even more powerful when he's able to fight off and win against Goku and the Dragon Team eons later, after reaching his prime status and then going even beyond that after absorbing Seven-Three. But he becomes a true god after absorbing and copying Merus’ power, allowing him to fight a par with Ultra Instinct Goku, before his body could no longer handle the power.]]
* ''Manga/EdensZero'' has the enigmatic entity called "Mother". While very little is known about her or her powers, what ''is'' known is that she is reputed to be larger than any of the planets of the Sakura Cosmos where everyone lives. And while she appears to simply spend her time serenely reclining on a throne of planetoids somewhere out in uncharted space, she has the means to observe events in the Sakura Cosmos, particularly keeping tabs on main character [[TheHero Shiki]].
* ''Manga/FairyTail'':
** The [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Black Dragon of the Apocalypse]] Acnologia is quite possibly the closest thing in the setting to one that isn't a full-on deity (and he's actually stronger than ''several'' actual gods). His sheer power makes everyone who sees him, including the likes of [[TheDreaded Zeref]] and [[OurDemonsAreDifferent Mard Geer]], go OhCrap, he ignores everything that's thrown at him (including Magic that's [[NighInvulnerable supposed to be able to kill his kind]]), and he utterly destroys everything that gets in his way. And you know how each Dragon has its own specific element they can not only NoSell, but [[FeedItWithFire eat to restore their strength]]? [[spoiler:His is [[SuperpowerLottery Magic itself]], and in a world of Magic this makes nigh-on ''invincible'']]. [[BigBad Zeref]] himself, the most powerful wizard in the entire setting bar ''none'', says that mere humans, [[spoiler:ironic since the dragon WasOnceAMan himself]], could never hope to match him, and in one BadFuture he manages to TakeOverTheWorld. [[spoiler:Shown in special detail when he shrugs off everything the top mages in Fairy Tail throw at him, kills [[PlayingWithFire Igneel]], Natsu's father and King of the Fire Dragons, by himself (albeit Igneel was [[WorfHadTheFlu greatly weakened from a previous battle with Acnologia]] and ''still'' managed to rip off Acnologia's arm off, though it turns out [[WorfHadTheFlu Acnologia got hit with the weakening bat too thanks to an anti-magic weapon going off]]), and later [[CurbStompBattle tears a hole through]] Dragon Slayer [[AGodAmI God]] [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Serena]] of the [[TheArchmage Four Gods of Isghar and Spriggan Twelve]] [[CurbStompBattle without batting an eye]]. After he consumes the Space Between Time he truly becomes a god, and During the final battle, he dominates all seven remaining Dragonslayers with ease and ultimately it requires the direct and/or indirect aid of ''every'' mage on the continent to finally put him in a position to be killed]].
** The Black Wizard Zeref is one of the only beings powerful enough to even be considered a challenge to Acnologia. He was already immortal, a master in the Black Arts which is composed of Living Magic and Death Magic, could stop time, teleport, could enchant anything in the world and considered the strongest wizard in history. But, after attaining Fairy Heart, he becomes a true god and gains absolute control over time and space to the point that he can survive any and all attack by turning back time to before he was even injured and the most shocking is that he can even do that when his body is destroyed. In the end, he was beaten by burning time itself so he can't use his power and that still didn't kill him, only ultimately falling [[spoiler:to the mutual [[TouchOfDeath Curse of Ankhseram]] of his love Mavis Vermillion, [[MutualKill which killed them both]].]]
** ''Manga/FairyTail100YearsQuest'' reveals that there exist five "God Dragons" on the continent of Giltena [[AllPowerfulBystander which have secluded themselves so thoroughly from the world]] that even Acnologia thought they were simply legends. Each one is said to be as powerful as Acnologia himself, and all of them were worshipped in the past as gods. The titular 100 year quest is to [[DefeatingTheUndefeatable defeat these five dragons]], and all who have attempted this quest in the past have died, with only Gildarts Clive, the [[PersonOfMassDestruction most powerful member of Fairy Tail]], having come away alive but unable to challenge ''one''. One of these dragons admits that the reason they became so powerful is because they're survivors of Acnologia's dragon-killing rampage who fled into hiding in hopes of growing strong enough to challenge him, and with his death several of them have started entertaining the possibility to TakeOverTheWorld with their greatest adversary now gone.
* In ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'', there's [[AnthropomorphicPersonification Truth]]. Although he is a metaphysical being, he does appear in the form of a featureless void filled with your sacrificed body parts. He is the being supervising every alchemy in the world, and of course [[{{God}} has god-like power to back it up]].
** The ultimate goal of the BigBad in the manga and ''Brotherhood'' anime, [[spoiler:Father]], is to be this trope. [[spoiler:And he succeeds. He rips out Truth from the sky and absorbs him in chapter 104. However, he requires a massive number of souls to keep it bound, and he can't use Truth's power to its full potential. It [[SuperPowerMeltdown didn't end well]].]]
* ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'' has the Nyan-Nyan (Lai-Lai in the manga). They are minor healer-goddesses, who normally take the form of [[{{Moe}} adorable]] turquoise-haired little girls.
** Suzaku and Seiryuu both appear in human forms, as well as in their animal forms
** Arguably, Taiitsukun is this, considering that [[spoiler: she ''created'' The Universe of the Four Gods]]
* ''Manga/FutureDiary'' has Deus ex Machina (yes, that's really his name), the god of time and space. He is sponsoring a "survival game" among the protagonists ([[spoiler:because he is dying]]) to choose a new god. [[spoiler:Near the end of the series, Minene gets half his power and becomes something of a god herself, a trait that she passes on to her children in the epilogue. Yukiteru eventually wins the game and succeeds Deus, along with an AlternateUniverse Yuno.]]
* ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCureMaxHeart'' has Hikari Kujou/Shiny Luminous, the human form of the Queen of Light after she was severely wounded and split herself up in order to survive.
%%* Emperor Zuul, BigBad of the SuperRobot series ''[[Anime/GodMars Godmars]]''.
* Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya. She can warp existences and change things merely by childishly wishing something to be different. She can unwittingly destroy the universe if she is bored. And it's implied that she would be beyond it, to the point of being an omnipotent god, [[LockedOutOfTheLoop if she was aware of her power]].
** The Interfaces. To emphasize this, Yuki Nagato, one of the Interfaces, has been called "Dr. Manhattan with a different design." And if anything, that's ''downplaying'' what the Interfaces are capable of. They can quite literally play around with reality as easily as a programmer designing his/her own game. Even without that RealityWarper ability, they can effortlessly outrun the speed of light and much, much more. Yuki even [[spoiler:stole Haruhi's god-powers once]]. Physical God doesn't even begin to describe that.
* Alucard from ''Anime/{{Hellsing}}'' could qualify, being the most powerful vampire (already legendary creatures) in existence. His powers include common vampire powers (Superhuman Strength, Speed, Reflexes, Immortality, [[TheVirus spreading his condition to others]]) Alucard can also [[MindOverMatter levitate]], pass through walls, manipulate shadows, [[VoluntaryShapeshifting shapeshift]], telepathically manipulate people (though he needs eye contact for that) and [[FromASingleCell heal from as little as ashes]]. In fact it's revealed he's sick of immortality and wishes to find someone capable of killing him, but has little luck.
* ''Literature/HighSchoolDXD'': AllMythsAreTrue means all deities in myths and religions count as one of these. But, special mention must go to the "Top 10 Strongest Beings in Existence", as well as a few other beings not on the list but are at their level, including Longinus-class Sacred Gear wielders (whom could potentially kill deities) as well as the higher ranking dragons (whom are appropriately feared by all myths and legends).
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'':
** The goal of the BigBad Kars of ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency Battle Tendency]]'' is to use the [[MacGuffin Red Stone of Aja]] to turn himself into an Ultimate Being, an immortal entity with the powers of all of Earth's life at his disposal, including the Ripple which would otherwise be deadly to him as a [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Pillar Man]]. [[spoiler:He succeeds, and just as he is about to deliver a killing blow to TheHero Joseph Joestar, Joseph blocks it with the same Red Stone of Aja which causes a chain reaction that results in the volcano they're fighting in to erupt, sending both soaring into the sky. Kars plans his escape, but Joseph's taunting distracts him enough that he's sent out of the Earth's atmosphere, and in the freezing depths of space turns to stone despite his efforts to return to the Earth. As the narration goes, "[[AndIMustScream Being unable to die even though he wished for it, Kars eventually stopped thinking]]."]]
** At the Climax of Part 5 [[spoiler:in a last ditch effort to defeat Diavolo, Giorno impales his Stand Gold Experience with the Stand Arrow and it evolves into Gold Experience Requiem, from what is seen of it and its incredible defensive abilities and effectively being able to send whoever it hits into what's basically the closest equivalent to ''hell'' (an infinte deathloop with each death being different), it's easy to see why it has such a divine feeling.]]
** In the grand finale of Part 6 [[spoiler: Pucci fully completes the ritual requiered to achieve Heaven, which evolves his Stand to Made In Heaven, a divine-looking centaur Stand capable of manipulating time and gravity to such an extent that it causes the entire universe to rapidly collapse and reset, with the narration stating that only God and Pucci are capable of observing what is happening. This makes Pucci effectively god-like and nigh unbeatable by extension, to the point it was a miracle he was defeated at all.]]
* ''VisualNovel/KamigamiNoAsobi'' is about a [[HaremGenre harem]] of them. [[CrossoverCosmology Greek, Japanese, and Norse gods]], playing out romantic-comedy tropes (with a snarky FishOutOfWater twist) before [[TransformationSequence transforming]] into [[WalkingShirtlessScene some excellent fanservice]]. HotGod, indeed.
* At least a good third of the cast of ''Manga/KamisamaKiss'' fit this description. In fact, the entire story is about a OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent unknowingly impressing one (Mikage) and being turned into one herself; adjusting to her new life and learning to deal with both her powers and familiars.
* While it's not usually touched upon due to her suffering nasty cases of CripplingOverspecialisation or just plain idiocy, Aqua from ''Literature/KonoSuba'' is this. While the specifics of how divinity in the novel works is unclear, Aqua specifically has jurisdiction over the Earth and is actually known to be a senior goddess (with Eris being her subordinate). She also has extremely high stats and, as an Arch-Priest, can use the highest levels of holy magic, including the ability to revive the dead (Which she has done to save Kazuma multiple times... oftentimes from situations she got the party into to begin with). She also has access to Water magic (Up to and including the ability to cause a flash flood with Sacred Create Water), as a water goddess. This is touched upon in the crossover ''Anime/IsekaiQuartet'', where a normal TurnUndead spell from her manages to harm [[Literature/Overlord2012 Ainz Ooal Gown]], who in his own series is an InvincibleHero, bordering on PhysicalGod himself by its power tier, and even has protection against holy magic like Turn Undead. Aqua's divinity would be touched upon again in the second season of ''Quartet'' to explain Aqua's immunity to Ainz' [[TimeStandsStill Time Stop]].
* In ''Literature/KyouranKazokuNikki'' we have Gouyokuou and [[spoiler:Gekka]]. Both are apparently ageless alien beings of great power. The former requires a PowerLimiter just so he doesn't pulverize Earth into dust by complete accident. The latter has a whole set of ill-defined powers that include MindRape, cosmic scale teleportation, VoluntaryShapeshifting and [[ShockAndAwe energy blasts]].
* Many characters in ''Manga/TheLawOfUeki'' ([[AGodAmI well]], [[OurDemonsAreDifferent sort]] [[OurAngelsAreDifferent of]]...). Probably the best example would be whoever becomes the Supreme God.
* ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'':
** The first Reinforce is the defense program of the [[EldritchAbomination Book of Darkness]], and as such killing her permanently is [[ResurrectiveImmortality impossible, since she will regenerate in another dimension and come back]]. The Book itself has the ability to [[PowerCopying copy spells]] and make them ''[[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill bigger]]''. With these powers, she is fully capable of [[EarthShatteringKaboom blowing up planets]] (something she had done countless times in the past) and {{No Sell}}ed damn-near everything.
** Olivie Segbrecht [[spoiler:as evidenced by the capabilities displayed by her clone]] was an immensely powerful, unparalleled combatant and is [[CrystalDragonJesus worshiped by a major religion]].
** Voltaire (think Godzilla) is described as some kind of guardian deity for the Lu-Lushe tribe that Caro comes from. The fact that she was able to summon him at a young age (hinting at ''incredible'' magic potential) frightened her tribe so much that they cast her out. Fortunately, despite his truly fearsome appearance, Voltaire himself is friendly and doesn't hesitate to help Caro when she is in desperate need. She even describes herself as a priestess praying for his aid to contrast her relationship with her pet dragon, Fried.
* ''Manga/MagicKnightRayearth'''s world of Cephiro is shepherded by a Pillar -- the person with the strongest heart in the world, because belief and willpower drive reality there. His or her prayers keep the land from invasion, war, and natural disaster. [[spoiler:Princess Emeraude's ability becomes compromised, leading to her [[SuicideByCop Suicide By Magic Knight]]. Hikaru later takes the mantle for five minutes or so before she relinquishes the power to all the world's citizens]].
* ''Manga/MissKobayashisDragonMaid'' has Lucoa (a.k.a. [[Myth/AztecMythology Quetzalcoatl]]), who used to be worshiped by the Aztecs until [[BrotherSisterIncest a certain incident with her sister]] resulted in her being stripped of her rank and title. She's still insanely powerful (even by dragon standards) and at one point casually mentions the ability to rewind time.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'':
** All Might is such a massive step up in power from the rest of the heroes that he's practically a deity in comparison. Recovery Girl states outright that Midoriya sees him as "something like a god," though she considers this a problem for Midoriya's development. When Midoriya and Bakugo faced him during their final exam, the normally arrogant and self-assured Bakugo was stunned speechless at his strength. And this is against an All Might who's both past his prime ''and'' [[PowerLimiter restrained by weighted wrist and leg bands]] so as to make the test at least theoretically winnable for the first year students.
--->'''Bakugo:''' He's not powerful. He ''is'' power.
** ''Manga/MyHeroAcademiaVigilantes'': Number Six topples a skyscraper and mocks the heroes trying to save everyone, saying only God could save them. Then All Might shows up and ''easily'' stops the falling building. Number Six releases his backup, hundreds of {{Action Bomb}}s that are too numerous for one hero to deal with, and too powerful for anyone but All Might to deal with. He unleashes a punch that causes a tornado, destroying them all at once. Number Six's master isn't even mad that Six failed, because what was he supposed to do against that?
--->'''Master:''' He's a true superhuman who is in another league compared to the rest of the heroes. A DeusExMachina who seems to defy the laws of physics and fate itself at every turn.
* [[spoiler:Mikoto]] from ''Anime/MyOtome''. Even [[spoiler:Mai, a top-tier Meister Otome and the one contracted to her]], is unable to beat her in one-on-one combat. Also an example of the [[GreatGazoo playful trickster spirit]].
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** The [[EldritchAbomination Ten-Tailed Beast/Juubi]]. Not only it is said to be the progenitor of everything in the world, it can command natural forces as easily as it flicks its fingers, causing earthquakes, twisters, and lightning storms ''simultaneously'', and fire a WaveMotionGun that can nuke ''continents'' from beyond Earth's horizon. The Sage of Six Paths was this trope by becoming its host in the distant past, and the goals of both {{Big Bad}}s, [[spoiler:Obito]], and [[spoiler:Madara]], require them to do the same.
** It's later revealed that the Ten-Tails [[spoiler:was actually just a supernatural God Tree without sentience, the reason it became the Juubi was because [[OutsideContextProblem a woman named Kaguya]] fused with it in the distant past]].
** [[spoiler:Kaguya Otsutsuki, like her son the Sage of Six Paths, was incredibly powerful. Unlike him, she was also variously worshipped as a goddess or considered a demon. She was also the only person who had chakra at first, which put her way above the rest of humanity in general. She gained her godly powers by eating the Chakra Fruit from the God Tree making her the first chakra user on earth and has even fought her two sons for many days and nights until she was sealed, during the final battle against Team 7, it was stated she can destroy and recreate entire dimensions]].
** [[spoiler:After Naruto’s meeting with Hagoromo, he acquires the powers of Six Paths Chakra, and the chakra of all nine Tailed Beasts, the former allows him to enter a godly transformation called Six Paths Sage Mode, which amplifies all of his abilities to their absolute peak, and the latter grants him all of their elemental releases]]. It more or less cements Naruto's status as this. The new novels outright state it, with Shikamaru of all people being the one to compare him to a god.
--->'''Shikamaru''': He's practically a pseudo-Ten Tails jinchuriki... his power is that of the Six Paths. At his current level, Naruto is pretty much a god.
* In ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'', [[spoiler:The Lifemaker]] is one of these, at least within Mundus Magicus. Considering that [[spoiler:he ''created'' Mundus Magicus, it makes sense]]. [[spoiler:Fate]] also drifts dangerously close to being one of these, although it isn't clear if he's using his own power or borrowing from his boss.
* From ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'', [[EldritchAbomination Adam and Lilith]], are often referred to as this. And honestly, considering they are [[spoiler:{{Precursor}}s to the entire Angel and human race respectively, as well as powerful enough to shape the world as we know it during the First Impact]] no one would disagree. The holder of their souls, [[spoiler:Kaworu/Tabris]] and [[spoiler:Rei Ayanami]], respectively, are not far from being one either. The entire cast couldn't hold a prayer of stopping the former from causing the Third Impact [[spoiler:if he didn't surrender]] and the latter could match everything the former does in almost every way. If their souls are returned to their original bodies, their true powers are ''seriously'' mind-boggling. [[spoiler:So, when Lilith does just that ''and'' absorbs Adam in ''End of Evangelion''...]]
** The ''Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion'' version of [[spoiler:EVA Unit-01]] at the end of ''2.22''. It doesn't look like much, but [[spoiler:once it runs out of battery power]]...it manifested AT-field so powerful that it formed '''a new arm''', then morphed it into an AT-{{Wave Motion Gun}}. Next it manifested a freakin' ''halo'' and shot [[EyeBeam Eye Beams]] that cannot be stopped by AT-fields, and finally [[spoiler:using a ''[[MindRape mental invasion on Zeruel]]'' to get Rei back, merging with the Angel in the process, turning into a huge white energy being, and by doing so nearly cause the Third Impact, almost extinguishing mankind just by existing]].
** And then comes ''Rebuild 3.33'', featuring EVA-13, [[spoiler:which is already powerful enough to devour an Angel as the first thing it does after entering Central Dogma, and trigger Fourth Impact entirely on its own,]] causing an apocalypse [[spoiler:similar to the above spoilered examples in the process]].
* The Eight Devils of Kimon from ''Anime/NinjaScroll'' are all this, the closest being Himuro Gemma, who can reassemble and reattach damaged body parts, making him quasi-immortal.
* All the gods from ''Anime/{{Noragami}}''. They are NighInvulnerable except to other gods, and are [[GodsNeedPrayerBadly born from people's wishes]].
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** Played with during the Skypiea arc. "God" is merely the title of the ruler of Skypiea, the island in the sky. However, Enel, the God at the time of the Straw Hats' arrival, [[AGodAmI believes he is an actual god]], and [[BigBrotherIsWatchingYou certainly]] [[{{Teleportation}} has]] [[NighInvulnerability the]] [[ShockAndAwe power]] to back up his claim.
** Another interesting example is the Lunarian tribe: with their power to [[PlayingWithFire spontaneously create and control fire]], along with their reputed ability to [[MadeOfIron survive in any environment]], they were once believed to be physical gods themselves long before the foundation of the World Government. King, Kaido's [[TheDragon right-hand man]] and [[LastOfHisKind the only known living Lunarian]], certainly lives up to their reputation, being [[NighInvulnerability nigh-invulnerable]] and one hell of a LightningBruiser. [[DefeatingTheUndefeatable A pity that Zoro is a non-believer.]]
* In ''Webcomic/OnePunchMan'' Saitama qualifies. He is strong enough that the second-strongest character is like a fly in comparison, fast enough that literal light-speed ninja are slow in comparison, and tough enough that a planet-destroying attack cannot even scratch him. No one comes close compared to his power [[WordOfGod which was stated to be infinite from the creator]]. The Hero Association official who observed Saitama breaking all of the records on the physical portion of the exam even describes Saitama as having a god inside him.
** Extremely powerful villains, such as Boros [[spoiler:and Garou]] can also count,as they could single-handedly wipe out all the heroes (aside from Saitama, obviously).
* ''Literature/Overlord2012'' has most of Nazarick's inhabitants in comparison to the beings of the New World. In the New World, beings with level around 30 are considered mythical beings. Most of the Nazarick is level 35 at least and '''level 100''' at most. Shown in special detail in volume 9 of the novel, [[spoiler:where Ainz curb-stomps an army of 250,000 soldiers with a single spell]].
* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf''
** Manga-only villain ''[[BigBad Saffron]]'' would count here. He can make and control fire, is nearly impervious to damage, has high regeneration, can be reborn, flies, and has a nasty superiority complex. His subjects all but worship him because he provides light and fire.
** Rouge has a Jusenkyo curse [[CursedWithAwesome to transform into an Ashura]], a literal goddess/demoness with [[MultiArmedAndDangerous multiple arms]], [[MultipleHeadCase several faces]], the ability to fly, [[KillItWithFire breath fire]] and [[ShockAndAwe throw lightningbolts]], as well as an impressive level of physical ability. The only drawback is all those arms gives her wicked backache, so much so that she chased [[EmbarrassingFirstName Pantyhose]] [[MixAndMatchCritters Taro]] all the way to Japan from China in order to retrieve the backache relievers he stole from her.
** Herb technically qualifies as well, being descended from a dragon and possessing all of it's godlike abilities that are miles above human limits.
* Zeus of ''AudioPlay/SaintBeast'' has NighInvulnerability, ElementalPowers, {{Teleportation}} and a certain degree of [[RealityWarper reality warping]] and {{omniscience}}. There were [[TheOldGods other physical gods]], but he killed them all, barring the Goddess.
* In the original manga of ''Manga/SailorMoon'', all the Sailor Senshi qualify, with Sailor Moon jumping into orbit ''by accident'' in the first arc. That was ''before'' she started receiving various power ups and Sailor Venus got to train her.
** Sailor Venus tends to demonstrate it rather often, partly due her being TheJuggernaut in [[Manga/CodenameSailorV her solo manga]] until faced with nuclear levels of firepower (that she eventually overcame - ''before'' receiving her first power up), and partly because [[HumanoidAbomination her very presence brings potential couples together]].
** Sailor Galaxia, the Senshi of Destruction, shows herself as this by easily killing every foe, including ''multiple Sailor Senshi'', only ''possibly'' matched by Eternal Sailor Moon and surpassed by [[spoiler:Sailor Cosmos and Sailor Chaos]].
* ''Manga/SaintSeiya'': The eponymous Saints battle for their very physical gods. Counting Athena, Poseidon, Ares, Hades, Artemis, Chronos... and Buddha is you want to count him. Even Nike, sure she is a staff, but it's physical.
** Not to count the Non Canon ones, of the other adaptations: Eris, Abel, Lucifer, The Other Artemis, The Twelve Titans, Pontos, Mars, and perhaps other lesser gods.
* ''Anime/SerialExperimentsLain'': Lain, to an increasing extent as the series goes on, up to [[spoiler:[[ResetButton remaking the entire world]]]], and [[spoiler:Eiri]].
* For all intents and purposes, [[spoiler:Hao Asakura]] of ''Manga/ShamanKing'' becomes like this [[spoiler:once he reawakens as the titular king and does battle with Yoh and the other good guys in the spiritual dimension inside the Great Spirit known as the "Shaman King's Society."]] Yeah, it's confusing.
* In ''Anime/ShinMazinger''' the Greek gods were actually HumongousMecha, controlled by the brains of the aliens who built them.
* Lord Death from ''Manga/SoulEater''. Characters with a [[OurSoulsAreDifferent soul]] the size of their body are considered enormously powerful, his soul is larger than a city.
** By extension, the rest of the [[spoiler:Great Old Ones count. Kid will also eventually become one due to being a "fragment" of Death. He's already showing beginnings of it in his strength and (briefly seen) healing abilities.]]
** BigBad Asura, on top of being incredibly powerful, also benefits from CompleteImmortality in the manga due to being the AnthropomorphicPersonification of fear who can never die [[AsLongAsThereIsEvil so long as there's intelligent life capable of feeling fear.]] [[spoiler: It takes Crona effectively sacrificing themselves to seal him away on the moon to put a stop to him.]]
* Choushin from ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'' are actually {{The Omnipotent}}s, but mostly prefer to live in the Universe they created for various personal reasons. While living in the material world forces them to incarnate in the physical form, they still keep all their powers and can assume their true form at will, transcending the physical world easily.
** Then there's [[spoiler:Tenchi himself]], who's actually [[spoiler:the true lord of Universe, literally EvenMoreOmnipotent than the Choushin]]. Unlike a few other cases, he actually learns this fact and actively uses it when necessary [[spoiler: like his battle against Z]].
* ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'' naturally turns this trope up to eleven. It's a series where you can become a Physical God through ''[[HeroicWillpower sheer force of will]]''. In fact, the plot of the story revolves around [[spoiler:Spiral Power, an energy that all spiral race (including us) has, which bends reality to our will]]. Using those, the heroes manage to create mechas powerful enough to ''punch people out of the universe''. Later, a guy shoots laser beams to ''every point in space-time''. When they create the titular mecha at the finale, the sheer size of the mecha allows it to tank '''Big Bang''' and use galaxies as ''throwing pebbles'' with the ability to create anything out of pure thought and energy.
** The [[spoiler:Anti-Spirals]], are similarly god-like. A race of ultra-powerful HiveMind beings, they can build ''universes'' from scratch, energy oceans that fills galactic proportions, equally numerous living battleships and can create the aforementioned Big Bang to use as {{Wave Motion Gun}}s.
** [[spoiler: The second CompilationMovie takes the series standard of this trope and cranks it up to ''[[SerialEscalation twenty.]]'' In the movie, the heroes absorb the aforementioned Big Bang and use it to create the Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. While only having about four minutes of screentime, the mere creation of this mecha is godly as it stands at a size of 52 billion light years, making it over half the size of the observable universe. Then the series BigBad proceeds to make an even bigger mecha. Then the two mechas clash using drills that are calculated at being around 180X the mecha's size. Meaning that both the heroes and the villains created weapons that are around ''100 universes'' big. So in other words, [[{{Understatement}} they are very powerful.]] ]]
* In the world of ''Literature/ThatTimeIGotReincarnatedAsASlime'', [[DragonsAreDivine True Dragons]] are considered the highest beings in the universe because they are basically the embodiment of the laws of nature, and one of them was actually the creator of that world. His offspring, Milim Nava, is also considered one in-universe. [[spoiler:Much, much later, the protagonist evolves to become one of them]].
* In ''Manga/TokyoGhoul'', Kishou Arima is this to the point where people who see him fight, no matter how little religious faith they hold, compare it to a religious experience, and that Arima is the embodiment of the "unfairness of God". He's known as CCG's Shinigami for a good reason. [[spoiler: It’s revealed that he was the true One-Eyed King, a title that has been passed on from one individual to another, after his death the title is passed to Ken Kaneki]].
* ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'':
** The Eight Kings of the Gourmet World are these since they are at the top of the Gourmet World food chain and they have so much hax abilities. They are even the strongest animals in the Gourmet World being able to {{Curb stomp}} anyone in battle and can blast apart the earth just by breathing.
** [[spoiler:Master Jirou is THE apex predator even in the Gourmet World to the point that he stopped a rotation of a planet the size of Saturn ''with a single punch''. After his He fought on par with Neo Acacia after having [[PowerLimiter his seals]] removed to unleash his true power]].
** Joie is all but a step away from this. Jiro and Setsuno have confirmed that, whether or not Joie is Froese or something else entirely, whatever it is, it utilizes absolutely 100% of its Gourmet Cells at 100% efficiency—a feat only made possible by eating the entirety of Acacia's Full Course.
** Acacia, is more or less this and he is call the Gourmet God for a reason, [[spoiler:After consuming his own Appetite Demon NEO he becomes a HumanoidAbomination that was so powerful in battle that not even the Eight Kings can defeat him.]]
** [[spoiler:Toriko himself gains this status after awakening his Blue Appetite Demon, eating GOD and CENTER and awakening his original White Appetite Demon, Toriko became so powerful that he was able to fight on par with some of the Eight Kings and his father Acacia, and later defeating the latter after finally manifesting the White Demon and easily defeats Neo Acacia with nothing more than a finger. He pretty much became the strongest Gourmet Hunter in the world by the end of the series]].
* ''Manga/TowardTheTerra'' Type Blue [[PsychicPowers Mu]] seem to be this at first. They not only can [[PersonOfMassDestruction singlehandedly destroy starships]] or stop beams from [[EarthShatteringKaboom Planet Killer]], but move in space without any protection, affect large groups of people on a great distance, and create life. Their lifespan is implied to be [[WizardsLiveLonger even longer than other Mu]] and [[Really700YearsOld they age much slower]]. Yet, it's a subversion. They pay for this power with their fragile bodies and in some situations even a normal weapon pose a serious threat, to say nothing about PowerNullifier.
* [[spoiler:Hakuoro and Dii]] from ''VideoGame/{{Utawarerumono}}'' are two halves of the same god, [[spoiler:though Hakuoro manages to put them back together at the last episode.]]
* In ''Anime/YuGiOh'', there are at least three trios of these. There are the Egyptian God Cards (which actually exist and can do magic in the real world, as [[WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries LittleKuriboh is quick to point out]]). There are also the Wicked Gods, and the Sacred Beasts. There's also the Great Leviathan and Zorc, the Dark One.
** Zorc is closer to a genuine god, seeing as he defeated the Egyptian Gods, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, and Exodia (which has the explicit power of "instantly wins any battle") with very little effort.
** The BigBad of ''Anime/YuGiOhTheMoviePyramidOfLight'' Anubis is a ''literal'' god, the God of the Dead in Egyptian mythology. He can teleport to any location, [[{{Necromancer}} command the undead]], use telepathy, turn invisible, drain the life force of others, materialize cards or monsters, and transform into a more powerful state. He also created the Pyramid of Light card which is capable of ripping souls of others out of their bodies and sucking them into the Millennium Puzzle.
** [[Anime/YuGiOhGX Yuuki Juudai]] could conceivably be one, given that he holds the power of Haou, which is the Gentle Darkness that created ''everything'', as opposed to the [[EldritchAbomination Light of Ruin]], its equivalent of destruction.
** [[spoiler:Rex Godwin]] becomes a god in ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds''. Why? Because [[AGodAmI he says so]].
** The Crimson Dragon from ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds''. It somehow eclipses the aforementioned Gentle Darkness and Light of Ruin.
* In ''Manga/YuYuHakusho'', Yomi, Mukuro, and Raizen. They are the most powerful demons in the Makai world and their power is said to be so great that even other S-class demons are fodder for them.
