* Kore's massacre of the ogres and orcs inside the tavern, which ultimately results in him killing a crying child.
** And it's not even a crying ogre or orc child. It's a crying ''dwarf'' child, one who was RaisedByOrcs and Kore therefore [[KnightTemplar judged irredeemable]].
* The various horrific mutilations inflicted by Dellyn on his victims.
** Samples include Yala, a female kobold whose legs and tongue have been cut out; a kobold whose upper snout was hacked away; a hobgoblin with half of his face nothing but raw, bloody meat...
** The drow/orc/whatever woman's injuries trump all of those by wide margin. All the skin and flesh of her back, peeled away... ALL of her back. Neck and head included. [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/09142009/ Have a look, if you dare.]]
** Fumbles himself gets the word "Monster" carved on him, while screaming in terror. He is temporarily catatonic from this.
* Dellyn when he realizes how to beat Thaco. He treats him like a prisoner, using the language he used when he tortured the goblin, and his face turns grotesque from Thaco's point of view, triggering PTSD.
* When Kore discovers the aftermath of the battle at the Warcamp, Taps-with-a-Stick and Asks Nonsense return just as he is about to leave, the resulting chase from Taps' point of view is possibly one of the most [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/04022006/ horrifying things in ANY comic.]]
* The effects of the Shield of Wonder during the major fight. Highlights include: a soldier being slowly transformed into an ogre and then stabbed to death by his terrified sergeant; said sergeant's armour being made bigger, more impressive, and most of all ''heavier'', to the point that it eventually crushes him to death inside ([[https://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/12072008/ look out for his eyeball popping out]]); a man slowly and, from what he says, ''agonizingly'' turning into a mass of snakes. This is all punctuated by cries of "What's happening to me?!" Good luck sleeping.
** Elli posted a list of the shield's 100 effects[[note]]All but the first three pages have been removed from the site, but all 9 pages can be found at the following [=ImageShack=] links: [[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img594/7247/iwta.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img32/6251/qiol.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img594/5633/9lb7.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img35/9479/6i99.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img850/9456/lvg8.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img15/9746/e2qr.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img30/6444/92n2.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img35/2995/ic5y.jpg]][[http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img850/3715/gnyy.jpg]][[/note]]. Most are relatively mundane and/or temporary/reversible. Some are even beneficial. Some of them are merely bearable, a mixed bag, or just kinda bizarre. But some are, or can be under the right circumstances, horrifying and/or permanent/irreversible. And they don't all necessarily target someone in the nearby vicinity of the shield, so some of them could have been activated in the comic itself but affected some poor sap somewhere in the world who has nothing to do with any of the story. And these are just aside from the ones shown or mentioned in the comic:
--->6. A large mouth forms on the shield and shouts the wielder's deepest secrets for 1d6 rounds.\
1217. The last individual to verbally speak to the wielder is turned to stone. This effect takes place no matter where the target individual is.\
1331. No matter where he is, the 4th oldest dragon in the realm suddenly loses his wings as well as any ability to fly or teleport in any way. The dragon and wielder instantly know the following information: The wings (and any ability to fly/teleport he may have had) will all return if the dragon directly kills the wielder; if the wielder is killed by someone/something other than the dragon, he's not getting his wings, etc back; the dragon doesn't automatically know ''where'' the wielder is, but he knows ''who'' he is.\
1432. If the wielder dies, so does the striker. (Reversible.)\
1537. Any and all dead humanoids within five miles of the shield rise as zombies. The nature of these zombies is [[KillerGameMaster up to the DM]].\
[[JustForFun/FortyTwo 42.]] The wielder suddenly becomes aware of the true, complete and all encompassing meaning of the universe. However, after one round, he completely forgets it and knows only that he used to possess and understand this knowledge.\
1757. From this moment on, the wielder will permanently lose one hit point from his total, any time he prays to any god or deity.\
1871. Everything that the wielder is wearing, carrying and wielding (except the Shield of Wonder) disappears forever.\
1972. The last creature that the wielder killed returns to life and appears in front of the wielder (with all of his belongings that he had at the time of death returned to him).\
2083. The striker must succeed a will save or he floats away into the air like a bubble caught in the wind. He will float higher and higher for 10 minutes, at which point the effect fades and he plummets to the ground far below.\
2186. A fully grown ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' is summoned next to the wielder. Roll a percentile die to determine whether the dinosaur really likes the wielder and hates the striker, or vice versa.\
2288. The entire realm of existence is ripped from time itself. Time no longer applies to the universe in which the characters live. Without time, physics cannot function. Cause and effect no longer exists. The entire universe becomes 'frozen' as existence hovers far outside the pull of time. All movement ceases. Planets no longer revolve. Thought is no longer possible and indeed, consciousness is no more. Life is for not. If time existed, the universe could be frozen forever. But no. Without time, there can be no past or future. Therefore, the universe never has existed, nor will it ever exist. It simply isn't. Gone. Erased completely never to be... [[spoiler:Oh wait. There it goes again. Okay, it's up and running normally again. Well, since time stopped, no one in existence knows what just happened and so it seems as though the shield didn't do anything.]]\
23100. The Shield of Wonder clones itself.
** The 100th effect means there could be one or more other Shields of Wonder out there, which means that Complains's getting destroyed might not be the end of the horror it can unleash. Even if the Shield never comes up again on-panel, there's nothing that says there aren't any number of Shields out there, wreaking havoc on their respective corners of the world...
* The Soulspike Devourer:
** A giant skeletal EldritchAbomination that apparently rips your soul from your still living body, then imprisons said soul by impaling it on one of its spikes, possibly indefinitely. [[http://goblinscomic.org/comic/11222008 Oh and from the looks of it, your imprisoned soul will be in agony until the Devourer decides it needs a boost and utterly consumes it in an instant.]]
** That Soulspike Devourer was a ''person'' a few minutes ago. Now that person is essentially dead, transformed into a monster that consumes its former comrades' souls.
** That a Soulspike Devourer shows up at all is an in-universe example — it's a 4E monster thrust into an explicitly 3.5E world. Imagine trying to fight a monster based on rules just different enough from the known rules of your universe that it cannot be classified. It's undead, but healing magic heals it, its attack, damage, hit points, and defenses are on a different scale, who knows how it would deal with spells with saves it doesn't have, it might attack defenses you don't have, if it gives a save ends effect you don't have the proper mechanism to recover... Which is why it can effortlessly just grab any character it sees and rip out its soul. Due to the difference in editions, there's probably no saving throw that can be made, so all it needs to do is get it's hands on you, and you're lunch.
* Early in Book Four: [[spoiler: [[http://goblinscomic.org/comic/03292010 Dellyn Goblinslayer meets the Anymug]]. Being made of wood]] means you ''may have issues with fire''. People made of wood should not be this [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/05272009/ creepy.]]
* Dies Horribly, meet [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/03252011/ Mr. Fingers.]]
** Even Elli is spooked by this one. As well she should be: if what she told her forum is true, she designed it from a [[PrimalFear recurring childhood nightmare]] that starred [[UndeadAbomination the creature.]] A monster that causes slow, horrible agony and dismemberment from a single touch? That's a monster you have to run from, not fight.
** If its stats are to be believed, it only takes three touches before the poor victim's entire body melts away. Which means that [[spoiler: K'Sellis]] is already dead.
** While it would be easy to just give in and list every comic containing [[UndeadAbomination Mr.]] [[{{Fingore}} Fingers]], [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/04122011/ this]] one in particular is notable for both Mr. Fingers' glare and Grem's [[OhCrap absolutely justified reaction.]]
** Elli has statted out Mr. Fingers and and published the stats under the name '[[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comics/20110524.jpg Lesser Finger Horror]]'.
*** Also note the creature's description: '''Lesser''' Finger Horror. [[AlwaysABiggerFish Consider this trope]], and enjoy your nightmares.
** What really sums up Mr. Fingers is the fact that it is ''literally nightmare fuel''. He was a child's nightmare ''brought to (un)life''.
* [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/06072011/ The death of K'Seliss.]] ''[[NauseaFuel Uuuhhhh.]]'' Even worse when you consider the [[CruelAndUnusualDeath agonizing pain]] the liquid rot brings with.
* NightmareFuel: A convenient [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/07222011/ example]] prevents yet another fight.
* Psi-Max isn't as evil as Dellyn and Kore, but he's still just as horrifying. To reiterate: He's killed his universe's Kin and Forgath well over 800 times and made sure to break the counter to A) make sure they remember every ''second'' of their death, and B) to memorize the Maze in its entirety. That's the scary thing: Psi-Max isn't in the maze to get the rare treasure every other Universe is looking for. No, his entire POINT is to memorize every nook, cranny, and hidden part of the Maze Of Many for one simple reason: To hunt down and eliminate every single incarnation of him, Kin and Forgath. He's become an OmnicidalManiac in a little condensed universe who can blow up heads with a flick of his wrist, and his entire point is to kill everyone, forever. And the clinical detachment with which he does everything -- including torturing Minmax and Kin just to see if he can learn anything from ''the other's'' reaction -- brrr.
** Something easy to miss is that he doesn't ''just'' torture them- when he's studying Minmax's reactions to him abusing Kin he ''[[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/01032012/ grabs her breast.]]'' Considering that Kin HatesBeingTouched under the ''best'' of circumstances because of [[RapeAsDrama her past]], it's no wonder that this is Psimax's MoralEventHorizon as far as Minmax is concerned.
--->'''Minmax:''' [[IllKillYou I'm gonna kill you for that. Touch her again and I'll kill you twice.]]
* Dies-Horribly [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/10212011/ does.]] And, [[spoiler: after reviving]], the portion of the orb [[spoiler:that saved Dies' life]] takes over... and goes into ClingyJealousGirl-mode [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/11292011/ here]].
* Dies' [[spoiler:artificial arm]] gets very... ''[[CruelAndUnusualDeath creative]]'' when killing people. It seems to be like a switch; when Dies is in mortal danger, the switch is flipped, and he starts killing every perceived threat within reach, even once they start running in pants-wetting terror.
* One room in the Maze of Many has upside-down trees that grow whenever damaged. Kin gets trapped under one as it presses and holds her down, [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/04132012/ causing PTSD flashbacks to what Dellyn used to do to her.]] Even without showing anything graphic or sexual, it's the raw, unfiltered stuff that nightmares are made of.
* Elli shows off [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/05112012/ exactly how an invisibility shield]] might look.
* Evil Klik's SlasherSmile when he regenerates the damage Klik gave him... and it looks like he was going to torture his creator.
* Tuck having all the blood drained from his body by the Evil Kilk.
** Goes up to eleven in the next page. [[spoiler: Evil Klik rips Baka in half after draining him...and [[http://goblinscomic.org/comic/12072012/ Evil Klik's body begins mutating...forming a skeleton...]] just what exactly [[EldritchAbomination IS this thing]]?!]]
** [[http://goblinscomic.org/comic/12112012/ And it's only getting worse.]]
** [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/11262015-2/ Ladies and gentlemen, we have confirmation on what Evil Klik is going to be if someone doesn't find a way of stopping it, QUICK.]] Unfortunately, its "negative" is the orb of darkness, the axe of darkness (lost) and ''Dies Horribly.'' While its "positive" is '''blood.'''
%%* Psion Minmax vs Kin.
* [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/04302013/ This alternate reality.]] [[spoiler:Dellyn isn't killed during the tavern brawl with Minmax, and hunts down Minmax, Forgath, and Kin, and kills Forgath and Kin. Shortly thereafter, Minmax finds a Crystal Ball which shows him the torture Dellyn put Kin through while she was his slave. Minmax captures Dellyn, and proceeds to do to him ''[[ColdBloodedTorture every single thing]]'' that he did to Kin, promising that Dellyn would be allowed to live if he survived. He does... only for Minmax to [[FromBadToWorse remind him about the torture he'd inflicted on]] ''Forgath''. This is told from the perspective of Dellyn. This is probably the most graphic, explicit violence that Goblins has ever done, and it still swerves into Heartwarming with the last two sentences. This is made even worse by the fact that it's the normally light-hearted Minmax who is inflicting this on Dellyn]].
** [[spoiler: It's good to know that in at least one world, Dellyn Goblinslayer got exactly what he deserved: [[HoistByHisOwnPetard that he died screaming in pain and terror while having inflicted upon him the same sort of horrors that he had spent his entire life inflicting upon others.]]]]
** Alternately, the last two sentences [[spoiler: mean that Minmax was planning on using the Jade Teapot to take him into whatever afterlife Dellyn ends up in and spend all of eternity torturing Dellyn there as well, which is even more horrifying.]]
* Psion!Minmax's liquification power, which he first demonstrates by brutally killing his counterparts from his reality.
* The mere fact that ''all'' Dellyns across the multiverse are depraved monsters is chilling. The Dellyn of Sapphire!Kin's world may be even ''worse'' then our Dellyn was.
* The fact that Kore does all manner of horrific, despicable, monstrous evil to others ''and still keeps his paladin powers.'' In a setting where every other paladin is [[ThePaladin a trope-perfect]] TheCape, Kore is able to [[GoodPowersBadPeople turn the holiest of powers into one of the most evil characters in the realm.]]
** Kore's IME is [[spoiler: a giant pair of wings made of chains holding the heads of his victims, screaming in terror. One of the heads visible in the 2/4 update? A ''baby''.]]
*** Even worse, when he [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/02042014/ casts Remove Paralysis]] [[spoiler:you can see poor ''Chief's'' head screaming there!]]
** [[spoiler: After seeing his face, it appears that ''[[EldritchAbomination Kore himself]]'' is comprised of the souls of every person he's ever slain. It's entirely possible that the reason he's able to use paladin powers despite being ObviouslyEvil is because [[PoweredByAForsakenChild at least one of the souls he's assimilated is actually good enough to use paladin powers.]] Another theory is that the combined power of the souls is equivalent to a deity, which he draws his power from. Even the confirmation of the former is Nightmare Fuel, since the one who reveals it is Chief's trapped soul!]]
** It's eventually revealed that [[spoiler: Kore was one of the Paladins who made [[SealedEvilInACan the Ax of Prissan]] and was cursed by demons for doing so.]] We already know that [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/03272006/ he thinks he's been blessed]] in order to help him "eradicate all evil," implying that his curse [[spoiler: transformed a virtuous and righteous warrior into an AxCrazy KnightTemplar- and he has no idea.]]
* While fighting [[spoiler:Forgath]], Kore [[http://www.goblinscomic.org/comic/09172014/ casually declares]] that he recognizes where part of their armor was made. He goes on to state that he recently killed another 'evil' member of that clan (who was, for reference, ''[[WouldHurtAChild a child]]''), and thanks him for the proof that [[AlwaysChaoticEvil all of them are evil]]. So after he's slaughtered him and his party, he's going to move on and wipe out the rest of them.
* Ladies and gents, [[spoiler: [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/e4367f85f8e45b8cf1d657c008a92e5d.png Kore's face.]] ]]
* Kore has found his way into the dungeon and now controls a massive "door" golem. What's worse, is that his IME of chained souls is now coming out of said golem.
* The SoulJar on the Axe of Prissan '''exploded''' when Ears swung his axe at one of the "demons" in the dungeon, causing parts of the axe to fly like shrapnel and flinging Ears backwards into a wall! Remember, the demon trapped inside that gem is mighty enough to destroy the realms all by itself if it gets out... and evil enough to want to.
** Fortunately the demon is not out right yet, although reality is still melting and twisting as the seal unravels. What we get instead is a lesser parasite demon that "lives on the demon deity like a flea on a wolf" according to Names. It's ''horrifying,'' a tangle of disjointed bone-like limbs entwined in ribbons of flesh that hang from the ceiling, with a hideous disembodied mouth floating above its main body. Where it walks, the ground turns to ''chittering mouths.'' It will give you nightmares. ''And let me repeat: this is just a lesser parasite demon- the demon deity is still coming!''
* The Warped Klik. It's a gigantic, hideous Klik that can infect people on touch, [[spoiler:which he does to Forgath]]. It's also able to destroy the world.
* Big Ears gets so mad during a battle with Kore, he rips half his face off with his bare hands. ''Onscreen''.
* A monster with tentacles and mouths with sharp teeth in each tentacle attacks the goblins, and nearly devours Complains. Good thing Big Ears was there.
