''Lolita Complex Phoenix'' is a manga written by Satoru Matsubayashi, and it's about a self-appointed hero of the little girls, who defends them from the paedophiles who lurk for them... all while making himself look like one by accident most of the time.

The series ran in ''Dragon Age'' from 2006 to 2011, though since it went on a lengthy hiatus it only has 25 chapters. A sequel entitled ''Lolita Complex Phoenix BL'' ran from April to December 2008.

----
!!''Lolita Complex Phoenix'' contains examples of:

* AccidentalPervert: Happens to Phoenix at least once per chapter.
* AcronymConfusion: The Black Lolita Group is referred to as the BL Group. In Japan, "BL" is an abbreviation more commonly used for BoysLove, which causes Phoenix to believe that they're coming after him after one quick Google search. Kaiser is more than happy to clear up the misunderstanding.
* AdultsAreUseless: Besides Phoenix, if there's an adult in this manga that is ''not'' villainous, they're either gullible, apathetic, incompetent or a combination of all three.
* ApatheticTeacher: Mia's teacher. In the school trip chapter, she doesn't even care that the manager of the inn looks very suspicious,[[note]] suspicious in the fact that the manager is Kaiser.[[/note]] all she cares about is getting drunk.
* ArtEvolution: Noticeable from chapter 5.
* AssShove: Phoenix uses this as a form of an attack and he can get really creative with them.
* AuthorAvatar: A stick figure.
* BrokenPedestal: Marika actually liked Phoenix when the two of them were younger, remembering him to be kind and strong. Then she sees the current-day Phoenix, a jobless bum who wears a bird mask over his face and is understandably disappointed.
* ButtMonkey: Phoenix. Mia's butler, Yamada, also takes his fair share of abuse.
* CallingYourAttacks
* CatchPhrase[=/=]ArcWords: "My name is Phoenix, protector of little girls and an ally of justice. I'm also 26 and unemployed."
* CavemenVsAstronautsDebate: The BL group tends to get in these kinds of arguments ''a lot'' (one guess to what the arguments relate to), much to Aoi's annoyance.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Everyone.
* CrapsackWorld: Machida City can't be anything other than this, being overrun with pedophiles.
* CreepyCrossdresser: Angel♥Love, who runs a lingerie shop just so he can sexually harass girls.
* CutLexLuthorACheck: Probably the most dangerous part about the BL Group besides their goals is that they are incredibly well-funded. Kaiser is apparently a wealthy tycoon, who was already a millionaire when he was Phoenix's age.
** The doctor that the BL Group employs angrily points out to Phoenix that he went to medical school and did all the work to legally obtain his liscense...all for the purpose of harrassing little girls.
* DamselInDistress: Whenever the BL Group plans on doing anything unsavory Mia is unfortunately always in their crosshairs. Naturally, she struggles at fighting back, being only 11.
--> '''Phoenix:''' What's the matter, Mia? Do you need saving again?
* DeadpanSnarker: Aoi.
* DistractedByTheSexy: Rose the Hottie's power. He uses it to brainwash little girls into letting him do all sorts of obviously lewd things to them.
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler: Phoenix and the BL Group in the finale, after Mia falls ill.]]
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Thankfully, all of the BL Group's plans squarely fall under this. Pheonix usually foils them but they end up foiling themselves. A good example is when they open a store that only sells clothing for little girls and it gets closed down in ''one day'' due to the police arresting them for harassing the customers, with Phoenix nowhere in sight and left blissfully unaware until he sees the vacant building the next day.
--> '''Aoi:''' These guys just don't learn...
* {{Gonk}}: Phoenix's mother.
* GroinAttack: Variations of this trope are used very often by Phoenix and the BL Group members ([[TruthInTelevision since one of the ways, if not the easiest way, to subdue a male opponent is to kick him the balls]]), but Spiral Rikimaru has it down to an art form with the Rikimaru Spiral (which is to slam the opponent's balls down on logs planted into the ground and arranged in a circle at ''high speed''). It's a wonder how nobody has been made sterile after suffering some of the attacks that are seen in the series.
* HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday: The BL group and Phoenix have a massive aversion of anything even slightly homoerotic.
* HorribleCampingTrip: More like Horrible Hiking Trip for the BL group.
* HotBlooded: Any masked character.
* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: All of the titles are named "[[CharacterNameAndTheNounPhrase The Phoenix and X]]".
* {{Jerkass}}:
** The BL Group are prone to being jerks to one another.
** Godou, one of Mia's classmates.
* LaughablyEvil: The BL group. Sure, they're all pedophiles, but it's hard not to laugh at their antics and ''bizarre'' appearances. Then there's the fact that that they're hilariously incompetent at what they set out to do.
* LockedInARoom: [[spoiler: Happens to Phoenix, Mia, Kaiser, Aoi, Danny and Kerorin in the last chapter.]]
* MaskPower: Phoenix's mask usually starts blowing flames once he gets powered up by the love of little girls.
** MalevolentMaskedMen: The enemies of Phoenix.
* MirrorCharacter: A clear parrallel is drawn between Kaiser and Phoenix. While Kaiser is an accomplished business man compared to Phoenix being jobless and still lives with his parents, he retired early and is left with a lot of free-time...just like Phoenix. To drive it home, during their conference meeting Aoi points out to Kaiser that he might as well be a NEET with the schedule he has.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Phoenix is really weak, in spite that he looks like ''VideoGame/FinalFight'''s Mike Haggar with a bird as his head.
* ObliviousToLove: Though he has wild fantasies of her, Phoenix is obviously unaware that his cousin Marika ''does'' have a crush on him: she just can't stand what he's turned into.
* {{Ojou}}: Mia, though she refuses to admit it.
* RunningGag: "Oh, it's just a bird of paradise."
* SchoolFestival: Part of the three-part finale.
* SequelHook: The poster in the final chapter.
--> '''Aoi:''' Um...Commander, what's up with this ridiculous poster.\
'''Kaiser:''' Next up is the start of our new series!
* ShoutOut: One to [[Manga/HajimeNoIppo Ippo]]'s Dempsey Roll, of all things.
* SwissArmyAppendage: Kaiser uses [[CompensatingForSomething a huge cat tail]] [[ICallItVera (that he calls "Mistoltein")]] on his crotch. [[{{Squick}} Ack!]]
* UnfortunateNames: Subverted with Mia's dog. Its name is "Pes" but everyone mixed up its name with a certain part of the male body. [[spoiler: It's then DoubleSubverted when the butler informs that "Pes" is not it's real name and its name really ''does'' turn out to be the name everyone else calls it.]]
* UnsettlingGenderReveal: Subverted. Kaiser already learned that Aoi was a boy, but completely forgot. HilarityEnsues when he's reminded about it.
* WhatTheHellHero: The BL Group are usually mortified at Phoenix's rather eccentric ways of fighting them...mostly because his methods are as questionable as ''their'' methods.
-->'''BL Mook:''' ''W-What a paper-thin difference between us and this guy!''
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Aoi...possibly. He usually states flatly that he's a guy whenever Kaiser or any other BL member get any ideas and shows the [[SomethingElseAlsoRises evidence]], but it's usually revealed to be an item he keeps under his skirt for some reason.
