4	Carmen Dorothy Blanche Silvera, (2 June 1922 -- 3 August 2002), was a British actress best known for playing Edith Artois in ''Series/AlloAllo''.

6	One of her earliest TV roles was on ''Series/ZCars'' in 1962. Two years later, she appeared as Camilla Hope in ''Compact'', a SoapOpera.

8	She made two different ''Series/DoctorWho'' appearances in 1966 and 1974, appearing as three different characters in "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS3E7TheCelestialToymaker The Celestial Toymaker]]", and as Ruth in "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS11E2InvasionOfTheDinosaurs Invasion of the Dinosaurs]]". In 1970, she appeared in ''Series/DadsArmy'' in the episode "Mum's Army". She also was a regular face in {{Awful British Sex Comed\|y}}ies of The70s, such as ''Clinic Exclusive'', ''On the Game'', and ''Keep It Up Downstairs''.

10	In 1982, David Croft (who had previously worked with her in her ''Dad's Army'' guest role) cast her in her best-known role, the tone-deaf Madame Edith in '''Allo 'Allo!''. Silvera played the role in every episode of the series as well as the 1994 ClipShow.
