* AllWomenAreLustful: A good chunk of the female characters, both main and supporting, are the ones who initiate the comic's ''many'' sex scenes but special mention goes to Izzy, whose brain is almost '''always''' focused on sex.
* CastOfSnowflakes: Each character has a very unique design, and even family members are easily distinguishable.
* EveryoneIsBi: The main characters and some of the supporting characters, though it's mostly limited to [[GirlOnGirlIsHot the female characters, especially when they have sex with each other]] and the male characters mostly stick with the women. That said, [[GuyOnGuyIsHot Hiro and Hashim had sex with each other at some point]], the characters who are ''firmly'' gay are Darcy, Adelie, Bella and Andromeda, and the only character who seems to be ''firmly'' straight is Kirsty.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Most of the main and supporting casts are this if they aren't straight up {{nice|Guy}} or [[JerkAss just a jerk]].
* NoFullNameGiven: Aside from Izzy, Adelie, Bella, Max, Calixta, Darcy [[ThirdPersonPerson to a lesser extent]] and Len to an even lesser extent, almost ''every'' character's surname is completely unknown and are only referred to by their first name.

!!The Just Us League
[[folder:General]]
* SuperTeam: They are a group of superheroes who exist in the world of the comic, including a mantid-themed ComicBook/{{Batman}} expy, a grease-powered speedster, and a man whose eyes open to a dimension filled with meat, among others. They're rather picky about who they'll let be part of the team.
-->'''Omegaman:''' We few are all that stand between the world and total obliteration. Just us. Which is why we are called the Just Us League.

Ken Clarke, while in his youth, encountered a mysterious energy called the Omega Force, which gave him superpowers but radically altered his body. He started out as Kid Omega but eventually renamed himself to Omegaman, the comic's greatest hero!

----
* BadassBoast: When Miss Mantis tries to stop him from taking Izzy into custody by using his weakness.
-->Alphasite makes me dizzy, nauseous, tired. But a hero can withstand that. And I am a hero. It doesn't matter how much prep time you get. You can't prepare for Superman.
* BadPowersGoodPeople: His powers derive from the Omega Force, which is described as "The Death that is Life." Despite that, he is TheParagon in the comic.
* BelligerentSexualTension: He has this dynamic with Miss Mantis as seen in "Miss Mantis Vs. Omegaman." This finally ends when Omegaman plants a BigDamnKiss on her in "Miss Mantis + Omegaman."
* BigDamnHeroes: He returns to the comic by ''punching'' out Florida Man during Izzy, Hashim and Darcy's battle with him in "Last Stand".
* TheBusCameBack: After "Mother Box", Omegaman was absent throughout the latter half of Vol. 6 before returning to help Izzy fend off against Florida Man in ''[[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1376 Last Stand]]''
* ClarkKenting: His secret identity is a newspaper reporter. However, he makes little effort on trying to distinguish himself between his superhero self and his alter ego (on account of his black and white costume covering his whole body, including his face) so everyone clearly knows he is just Omegaman wearing a suit and glasses. The only one who is completely fooled is [[DitzyGenius Doctor Bald]], naturally.
* {{Depower}}: Omegaman gathers up all his Omega Force energy to deliver a power blast against Doctor Bald's {{Kaiju}}, but he ends up losing his powers as a result. However, the final right panel in "Mother Box" reveals that his powers may be returning sooner than imagined. Indeed, when he appears in Part 2, his powers are fully restored.
* HeroAntagonist: When Izzy invades Florida, he vows to stop her in the name of justice, even when it's clear that he's the only one who really cares about the invasion. He only stops after the "Miss Mantis Vs. Omegaman" arc, and returns to being her ally afterwards.
* MyGreatestFailure: Omegaman failed to solve the case of the woman who drove her twin girls into the sea, and has been haunted by that failure for all of his career. When he learns that Izzy was one of those girls, [[HeroicBSOD he does not take it well]].
* NightmareFace: [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1289 When he finally unmasks]], it's a very unsettling sight as his body appears to be a hollow shell filled with the black and white energy he uses for his powers.
* TheParagon: Despite his otherwise terrifying abilities and appearance, Omegaman is the cloest thing the comic has to a truly good, heroic person.
* SupermanSubstitute: In fact, he explicitly sees Superman as an inspiration for his own superheroics. He also has his own version of kyrptonite (a material called Alphasite), and after being {{depower}}ed, his hair is revealed to be black with a prominent curled lock in front. In part 2, it's revealed he has a teenaged cousin named Brittany, like Superman's own cousin [[ComicBook/{{Supergirl}} Kara Zor-El]]... but also has shades of [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk Bruce Banner's]] cousin [[ComicBook/SheHulk Jennifer Walters]].

Ruth Cartwright, heiress to a vast fortune, saw her parents get beheaded by a random mugger when she was a young girl. Ever since that day, she developed a fixation on neck meat and uses it on all criminals. By night, she is Miss Mantis!

----
* AntiHero: Since female mantis are known for decapitating their partners for food, it makes sense that she has no qualms about killing criminals as part of her mantid motif.
* BatmanParody: She's like Batman if he had an obsession with decapitating people.
* BelligerentSexualTension: She has this dynamic with Omegaman as seen in "Miss Mantis Vs. Omegaman." This finally ends when Miss Mantis receives a BigDamnKiss from him in "Miss Mantis + Omegaman."
* OffWithHisHead: Her preferred method of dealing with her enemies.

Robin Redman was a young acrobat whose parents were killed in a trapeze "accident." After solving their murder, she was taken in by wealthy heiress Ruth Cartwright and eventually became Miss Mantis' sidekick, Scarab!\

However, all kids got to grow up sometime... When Robin Redman starts high school, she decides to break away from the role of "sidekick" and become her own hero, ready to help out any student that needs her. Don't ever call her "Scarab"! Call her.... Galiath!
----
* BatmanParody: In case her [[StevenUlyssesPerhero real name]] didn't give it away, she's the Robin to Miss Mantis's Batman, with her origin story specifically being based on Dick Grayson. She even develops her own superhero identity, [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1455 Galiath]], when she gets older much like how Dick became ComicBook/{{Nightwing}}. It's later revealed she leads her own teen hero team similar to the ComicBook/TeenTitans called "[[https://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1549 Teen Spirit]]".
* DeadpanSnarker: She serves a witty, snarky {{foil}} to the otherwise serious Miss Mantis.
* HappilyAdopted: Robin ends up being taken in by Ruth at the end of "Curtain Call."
* ThouShaltNotKill: Unlike Miss Mantis, Scarab doesn't seem to believe in killing her enemies. For example, she stops her from decapitating the ringmaster (who was the real killer of her parents), telling her she'd rather have him face the consequences of his actions and go to prison.

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scarab_ii.png]]

Ever since Robin Redman left the life of a kid sidekick behind, Miss Mantis was in need of a new partner lest she start going insane. However, as she was leaving an important gala, she comes across a wayward girl attempting to sell her "candy". Wanting to keep this young girl away from a life of crime, Miss Mantis took in the child and christened her as... the new Scarab!
----
* BatmanParody: She's clearly meant to be based on [[ComicBook/RedHood Jason Todd]]. In fact, this Scarab's origin is slightly similar to the Post-Crisis version of Jason (albeit there, Jason was trying to steal the tires to the Batmobile, not sell crack.)
* DeadpanSnarker: Arguably moreso than Robin was when she was Scarab.
* FieryRedhead: She's got bright orange-colored hair and a harsh, snarky attitude to match.

In addition to Omegaman, Miss Mantis and Scarab, the Just Us League includes [[SuperSpeed Greased Lightning]], [[MakingASplash The Chlorinator]], [[{{Omniglot}} Leonard]], [[DishingOutDirt Mudman]], [[CastingAShadow Eclipse]], [[ThinkingUpPortals Aperture Girl]], [[RealityWarper Kid Galactic]], [[BadassNormal Tiga]], [[HomelessHero Home-Lass]], [[MesACrowd Legion]], [[TimeMaster Hourglass]] and... [[{{Squick}} Meatclops]].

----
* {{Expy}}:
** Greased Lightning is one to ComicBook/TheFlash, with his rivalry with Poopervillain parodying the [[MemeticMutation memetic life-ruining schemes]] of [[ComicBook/{{Flashpoint}} Eobard Thawne]]. [[invoked]]
** Meatclops is, obviously, ComicBook/{{Cyclops}}.
** The Chlorinator is visually one to ComicBook/{{Deadpool}}. This is because he was [[OrphanedReference originally]] going to be called "Poolpool". [[invoked]]
** Tiga is based on powerless martial arts-based heroes like ComicBook/ShangChi, ComicBook/RichardDragon and ComicBook/KarateKid.
** Moonlight Woman, who hasn't been shown as part of the Just Us League, is one to ComicBook/PowerGirl (specifically lampooning "desexualised" redesigns of her and other female superheroes).
* EyeBeams: Meatclops has eyes that are portals to a dimension filled with meat, allowing him to shoot blasts of meat at bad guys. Nobody wants to get caught by him.
* PunnyName: Hourglass can control time, and [[MostCommonSuperpower is a female superhero]].
* TerribleIntervieweesMontage: {{Parodied|Trope}}. The Just Us League hold an application review for new members, but their reasons for rejecting them include Mudman being too messy, Eclipse having a [[BadPowersGoodPeople "villainous" power]] ([[HypocriticalHumor despite Miss Mantis decapitating people]]), Aperture Girl [[SkewedPriorities having a redundant color scheme with Omegaman]], and Kid Galactic being ''[[StoryBreakerPower too powerful]]''. Izzy, who bankrolls the team, forces Omegaman to let all of them join.

!!Fishgirls
[[folder:General]]
* CuteMonsterGirl: They are a race of very attractive, alluring female FishPeople who like to find human males to mate with.
* CypherLanguage: Their language is a system of odd squiggles and symbols which was eventually translated by the fans, and now is translated on the comic's site.
* FishPeople: They are a race of aquatic humanoids who can breathe on land, but only for at least 6 hours at a time and will die of dehydration if they stay longer. Likewise, any "chimera" (see HalfHumanHybrid for the explanation on that), when they hatch after a year, cannot breathe underwater due to their conflicting biologies.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Many fishgirls are technically this due to needing human males to mate with. However, some are more human than others (like Ally, who's half-human/half-alligator). As explained by Flamingo Joe, they are called "chimeras", fishgirls who have more human attributes but it doesn't perfectly mix with their fish biology (i.e. being unable to breathe underwater once they hatch from their roe). The reason being that they were malformed during their gestation.
* HiddenElfVillage: Originally, the fishgirls kept themselves hidden from humanity (whom they view as "[[HumansAreBastards difficult to interact with]]") unless it was necessary not to (i.e. finding a mate to produce a child). However, ever since Izzy's various encounters with Red Snapper and her mother dating back to her childhood, they had decided to start a alliance between their kingdom and Key Manati to build toward a more open relationship with the land people.
* LadyLand: Their undersea kingdom's population is [[OneGenderRace mainly female]], [[{{Matriarchy}} is ruled by a single queen]] and there are no fish''men'' in sight. In fact, it seems common for the fishgirls to search out and seduce human males in order to produce offspring (like Ally's mother did).
* LanguageEqualsThought: Most fishgirls are based on obligate carnivores and thus lack a word for "sweetness" in their language.
* MagicKiss: An ability of theirs, which allows a normal human to be able to breathe underwater. This comes in handy for Red Snapper's mother when she brings Izzy and Addy back to land.
* {{Matriarchy}}: They are an all-female race that comprise of matrillineal families that carry different aspects of various aquatic animals and are ruled by a queen-mother.
* NoFathersAllowed: Due to the fact that they can only stay on land for a few hours at a time, long term relationships with human men are pretty much non-existent. The only exceptions that we see are either chimeras that are stuck on land anyways or used magic to turn themselves human.
* OneGenderRace: Kind of obvious given their species name, but there are definitely no fish ''men'' anywhere. Hence, in order to reproduce, they find and seduce human men.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: They do not resemble your typical merpeople; they are less "human at the top and fish on the bottom" and more like humanoid versions of various aquatic life (like alligators and jellyfish), though how human-like they are (i.e. having legs) can vary between them.

----
* BenevolentMonsters: She is always around to secretly help Izzy through tight spots: she brought Izzy to safety after her crazed pilot shoved her off a cliff and left food for her and her friends while they were stranded. Years earlier, she and her mother saw [[TrappedInASinkingCar the car her and Addy were trapped in]] and freed them, sending them back to land.

* CuteMonsterGirl: She still looks quite good in [[SilverFox her old age]].
* ParentalSubstitute: She certainly thinks of Izzy as her own daughter, and Izzy also feels she's this moreso than [[BrokenPedestal Florida Man]].
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She looks like an older Red Snapper.

%%
A gigantic coelacanth fishgirl and queen of the entire underwater kingdom.

----
* TheCatfish: She resembles one (minus the whiskers) and is defintely the ''biggest'' of all the fishgirls introduced so far (ex. when she first appears in "Elder", she is clearly much taller than Izzy). However, WordOfGod states that Theodora is not based on a catfish, but a coelacanth, a rare specimen of fish.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: She's the closest of the fishgirls to resemble a typical mermaid, having one big tailfin instead of legs. That said, she is still very much a [[FishPeople humanoid fishperson]].
* TheHighQueen: She seems to be a fair ruler and very much wishes to start a new union between her people and humanity, based on accounts she heard from Red Snapper and her mother.

A pair of young fishgirls.
----
* ShesAllGrownUp: When Manta and Seabass both re-appear in Part 2, they both appear much more mature and shapely than before.
* ThoseTwoGirls: They are close friends and are always seen hanging out together.

[[folder:The Jellyfish Girl]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_jellygirl.png]]
%%
A mindless fishgirl that resembles a jellyfish. She is the target of Captain Orca's vendetta in Vols. 3 and 4.

----
* AnimalisticAbomination: Downplayed, but she is the closest thing to this trope among the other fishgirls. As described by Queen-Mother Theodora, she is comprised of many different, tiny creatures, can regenerate from injury and her tentacles can send people to catatonia. She has no nervous system, no brain and no heart and eats the flesh of other creatures, including [[IAmAHumanitarian humans]].
* BenevolentMonsters: She ends up [[SaveTheVillain saving Captain Orca]] from getting his hand crushed by a boulder by the end of Vol. 4, a stark reversal from their encounter years ago.
* IAmAHumanitarian: She generally eats the flesh of other dead creatures, but she also has a particular taste for human flesh. Captain Orca found that out in [[ForcedToWatch the worst way possible]]. She also attacks Noah but is chased off before she can do more than wound his arm.
* NonMaliciousMonster: What the Jellyfish Girl really turns out to be. As explained by the Queen-Mother, she doesn't have a brain and acts purely on animal instinct. Thus, she couldn't really understand a young Captain Orca's cries for help and his pleas to not eat the bodies of his crew. But even after learning that, Orca [[TheUnfettered doesn't care]]. Also, when she finally shows up in the present, it's revealed that she's pregnant. The moment she and Orca come to blows, it is implied that she is trying to protect herself and [[MamaBear her unborn child]].
* MonsterIsAMommy: Judging by the way her belly is shaped when she and Captain Orca fight again, she became pregnant at some point. The question, of course, is how she became pregnant.

[[folder:Callie]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/callie_5.png]]
%%
A rough-talking delinquent chimera who is a student in Max's class.
----
* BerserkButton: Callie doesn't take kindly to those who laugh about her crush on Basil or anyone blurting out the fact she's a princess ''and'' a chimera.
* GiveGeeksAChance: She's in love with Basil and the "I Don't Want to Wait" arc is about her coming to Max and his friends for help in showing him how she feels.
* HalfHumanHybrid: She is a chimera much like Ally, which could be the reason she was exiled according to Bee.
* JapaneseDelinquents: She definitely dresses the part, wearing a surgical facemask, draping a jacket over her shoulders and a partially buttoned top. She's also not afraid to beat up anyone who shows her attitude.
* RebelliousPrincess: In "Princess" Bee reveals that she's a princess exiled from the fishgirl kingdom, with the cast page confirming that she's the daughter of Queen-Mother Theodora. "Lost and Found" further reveals that, based on her reaction to Manta and Seabass bowing to her and promising to find a way to bring back underwater, she has no intention on ever returning to her kingdom.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: In "Teen Spirit", she is dragged by Robin into joining her team "Teen Spirit" simply because, as a fishgirl, she is capable of doing magic. She only sticks around due to Basil's encouragement.... that is, until the team fights Brittany. She decides to leave with Basil because she "ain't in the mood to get [her] ass beat by a radioactive Stacey".
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: She has feelings for the nerdy homeschool kid, Basil, much to Max's amusement; Kamiyama assinged him as her English tutor to help her improve her grades. She was impressed by Basil's kind, encouraging attitude toward her. The fact that he has pretty blue eyes when his glasses are off only solidified her crush on him.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: She's noticably got a couple inches on Basil, who mostly reaches her chest.

!!Enemies
[[folder:General]]
* AffablyEvil: Often a shared characteristic among these guys, most notably Captain Orca and Florida Man.
* ArcVillain: With the exception of Doctor Bald, all the bad guys here spend at least 1 volume being the focal antagonist before being defeated by the main cast.
** In part one, Asher was the main villain for volume 1, then Venus for volume 2, Captain Orca for volumes 3 and 4 and Florida Man for volumes 5 and 6.
** In part two, the Spaghetti Bandit served as the villain for a single arc in volume 7 while Cronus and Xierdra, Calixta's parents, were the main villains for volume 8.
* FreudianExcuse: With the exceptions of Doctor Bald, Asher and Florida Man [[MultipleChoicePast to a lesser extent]], most of Izzy's foes have a sympathetic, tragic backstory that helped form them into the people they are today.
** Venus [[CallBack was the unforunate victim]] [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/6/ of getting whale cum splashed on her face]] [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/596/ by Izzy]]. The exposure caused an extreme allergic reaction, leaving her face horribly scarred and her left eye blinded. She wanted to advance her political career and become a senator (maybe even become president as well), but the incident and resulting fallout caused her prospects to dwindle, leaving her stuck as a DA. The worse part of that for her? Izzy never knew nor bothered to apologize for it, leaving Venus with a burning hatred and a desire to ruin ''her'' life like she ruined hers.
-->'''Venus:''' *''[[WhamShot tears off her bandages, revealing her scarred face]]''* [[WhamLine WHO EVER HEARD OF SOMEONE BEING ALLERGIC TO WHALE CUM?!]]
** When Captain Orca was younger, he was shipwrecked on a deserted island after a terrible storm. He was also the sole survivor of the wreck as his father, who was the captain, and the rest of the crew had died with their bodies floating in front of Orca. To make matters worse, his leg was caught in an anchor. However, after spending God knows how long trapped, salvation came when he came upon the Jellyfish Girl. [[HopeSpot Or so he thought]]. Due to having no brain, she could not understand his pleas for help. [[FromBadToWorse And then she proceeded to]] [[IAmAHumanitarian eat the corpses of the crew]] while Orca was forced to watch...for '''15 days!''' (not helping matters is that fact Orca's father was one of the bodies she ate) Then, when it looked like she was coming after him next, Orca [[AnArmAndALeg chopped off his own left leg]]. After going through such an ordeal, it's no wonder Orca wants to kill the Jellyfish Girl through any means necessary.
*** There's also his first mate Ally, who is the chimera child of an alligator fishgirl. Due to being born with an inability to breathe water (hence risking death from drowning if she hatched from her roe), her mother was forced to leave her behind in the surface world to be raised by swamp alligators since she herself would die of dehydration if she stayed on land for too long. She spent many years alone in the swamps until Orca found her.
** Even if it's questionable whether it's true or not, one of Florida Man's possible backstories make it seem like a plausible reason why the insane immortal became such [[TheHedonist a hedonist]] and a DeathSeeker. He was once [[UsefulNotes/JuanPonceDeLeon Ponce de Leon]], a Spanish explorer looking for the Fountain of Youth, [[ImmortalitySeeker drink from it's waters and gain immortality]]. However, he brought along his wife, who was stricken by illness and was growing steadily worse as the quest went on. When he finally found the fountain, he tried desperately to get her to drink from it under the hope it would cure her, but she had already passed on, leaving him both forever young and alone.

----
[[folder:Doctor Bald]]
[[quoteright:165:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drbald.png]]
%%
Doctor Bald is the closest the comic has to a recurring villain. Archenemy to Omegaman and an occasional thorn in Izzy's side, he is your typical MadScientist whose main goal is to TakeOverTheWorld. However, as most people who know him will tell you, he is very, ''very'' bad at being a villain.

----
* BaldOfEvil: Right there in the name!
* CloneAngst: Mostly averted. The only one bummed out is Dr. Bald and that's because his clones never turn out right. The one time he got a successful clone of Izzy, she turned out to be the complete antithesis of Izzy and has been more or less adopted by Izzy and Adelie. Also, Dr. Bald's first attempts at cloning resulted in 70% of them being Indian. He doesn't know why.
* CutLexLuthorACheck: Noah constantly tells him that his many experiments and inventions can serve a more practical purpose, but [[DitzyGenius Doctor Bald]] [[ComicallyMissingThePoint never has any idea]] [[TheyJustDontGetIt of why he should.]]
* DitzyGenius: He sometimes sucessfully creates brilliant and sometimes dangerous experiments for the stupidest of reasons.
** For example, in Vol. 6, he creates [[{{Kaiju}} a gigantic, rampaging female fish creature]]...but he did not intend for her to cause destruction in Key Manati. Rather, he made her to be "the ultimate waifu".
-->'''Doctor Bald''': Nerds the world over will join the army of Doctor Bald just to hold hands with the most perfect waifu the world has ever seen!\
'''Izzy''': [[YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe That's all you're gonna do with it?]]\
'''Doctor Bald''': ''What other use could there be?!'' A HAHAHAHAHA HA HAAAAAA!
* FriendlyEnemy: He and Omegaman apparently share this dynamic from time to time, most notably during the Halloween party.
* HarmlessVillain: He is this for the most part, to the point where his own archnemesis Omegaman goes to his Halloween party. One of his own colleagues even says that he's an amazing scientist but a horrible villain at the same party, explaining why he's at the party. His track record with his events confirms this.
* MadScientist: Complete with a lab coat, a hidden lab, [[LargeHam hammy attitude]] and EvilLaugh.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Despite his incompetence, he does have moments where he geninuely becomes a threat, like the time he made a (semi-)successful clone of Izzy in Vol. 2 and created a nuclear-powered fishgirl {{Kaiju}} that nearly destroyed Key Manati in Vol. 6. It's somewhat mitigated in that he either didn't really ''intend'' for his experiments to threaten the main characters (see DitzyGenius above for the giant fishgirl example) or they get stolen by a more competent enemy (like Venus kidnapping Kirsty and making her testify in the trial and Florida Man finding the remaining nuclear waste to create his bomb.)
* TheyJustDontGetIt: It's something a running gag with him. For example, when the doctor bemoans that he won't make money from his failed "Frankenhooker" experiment, Noah points out to him that he invented reanimation, which he could easily have monetized. Dr. Bald doesn't get how people could want their departed ones turned into hookers. Noah insists that he doesn't HAVE to turn them into hookers.
-->'''Dr. Bald:''' I don't follow.

[[quoteright:200:[[labelnote:Click to see him in Vol. 2]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/asher_5.png[[/labelnote]]]]
%%
The BigBad of volume one, Asher was Izzy's original artist for her video game, "Pro Ass Fishing." However, his {{mood swing|er}}s and [[AxCrazy murderous tendencies]] finally cost him his job, driving him to kidnap and attempt to kill his former boss.

----
* AnArmAndALeg: When Venus and her cohorts attack Izzy and the gang in Izzy's building, [[RageBreakingPoint an especially enraged Noah]] chops off Asher's left arm with his own cleaver after he shoots Izzy.
* AxCrazy: He's a vicious psychopath who will snap at the slightest provocation. It's telling that his response to Izzy suggesting he make ''one'' change to an animation is to ''[[DisproportionateRetribution try and skewer her with a broken beer bottle]]''. He eventually kidnapped Izzy and tried to murder her after being fired as her artist, then hooked up with Venus and her minions to try it again.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Putting aside the fact that he's a violent SerialKiller, he has a great work ethic. Izzy is even willing to act as his reference when he gets a new job in "Reference" despite him having attempted to kill her on several occasions.
* TheBusCameBack: He did not appear again after the end of Vol. 1 until "Hazard Again" in Vol. 2, revealing that he was now working for Venus, the BigBad of that volume.
* CommutingOnABus: He made sporadic appearances after Vol. 2, showing that he had started becoming more of a career criminal when he moved to Key Manati. Later on, he appears in "Those Guys", this time in prison where he ''stabs'' an inmate to death when he was about to tell Asher news about Izzy.
* {{Cyborg}}: When he returns by the end of Vol. 2, it's revealed that he received a cybernetic face plate after getting half his face cleaved by Izzy. He eventually gets a robotic arm after Noah [[AnArmAndALeg chops his original arm off]].
* HairTriggerTemper: Virtually ''anything'', even as small as, say, being told by your boss to make a single change in a game's animation, can drive Asher into a bloodthirsty, psychotic rage.
* HateSink: Unlike later villains, who have a FreudianExcuse and go through some kind of HeelFaceTurn, Asher is a completely unsympathetic character--an unrepentant psychotic murderer who'll gleefully kill someone who sets him off even ''slightly'' and do so in the most gruesome, painful ways if he wants to.
* HeManWomanHater: [[MisanthropeSupreme Asher hates humanity in general]], but it's specifically women he seems to hate the most, especially Izzy.
--> '''Asher:''' Of all the wheezing female holes that have the audacity to call themselves human, you [Izzy] are the most worthless pieces of meat I've ever seen.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: His disfigurements have both been the result of having his own weapons used against him.
* MisanthropeSupreme: To Asher, humans are just "sacks of filth and disease" and thus deserve to die by his hand.
* PutOnABus: He has yet to show up in Part 2, having been last seen attending Izzy, Darcy and Tanya's wedding in Part 1.
* SerialKiller: This is, unsurprisingly, his side hustle outside of being a game artist; he tells Izzy that he killed ''48 people'' before attempting to murder her.
* SlasherSmile: He loves to give a leering, sadistic smile to his victims before he kills them.
* TwoFaced: In an attempt to escape Asher, Izzy grabs his cleaver and slices off the left half of his face, including [[EyeScream that eye]] and [[EarAche ear]].
* UltimateJobSecurity: Despite being a flat-out psychotic SerialKiller, his talents as a game animator were apparently good enough to keep him employed. Finally subverted in the "Hazard" series of strips, where the board finally had enough of him and told Izzy to let him go.
* VillainousBreakdown: Being a psychotic SerialKiller with a HairTriggerTemper, it doesn't take much for him to go further off the deep end when things don't go his way.

%%
The BigBad of volume two, Venus was the district attorney of Ft. Vilese who held a particular grudge against Izzy and made numerous attempts to ruin her life.

----
* AmoralAttorney: She's a DA who uses every considerable legal tactic to destroy Izzy's reputation. When that proves to be a constant failure, she drops all pretense of legality and decides MurderIsTheBestSolution.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: She finally achieves her dream of becoming a senator after her facial reconstruction, only to learn that she can never become president due to the stupidity of the American public forcing the government to secretly create bio-engineered bugmen as presidents and hold false elections. As a result, she ultimately leaves the U.S. in favor ruling over her own country, much like Izzy.
* CommutingOnABus: After her story concluded with Izzy paying to have her scars fixed and eye replaced, she made sporadic appearances that were unrelated to whatever Izzy's gang were up to until "Solution", where she comes back at Darcy's arranging to give Izzy the hatefuck she claimed to want so badly. During the time before (and after) that, she was mostly seen in the White House, finally becoming a senator after Izzy paid for her facial reconstruction.
* {{Cyborg}}: She gets a cybernetic replacement eye as part of her facial reconstruction.
* EyeScream: The whale cum incident didn't just scar her face, it also blinded her right eye.
* ForgivenButNotForgotten: Ever since Izzy helped pay for her plastic surgery and cybernetic eye, Venus has seemed to have forgiven her by the time she appears in both "Solution" and "Grudge", and seemed fine with the idea of having sex with her. That said, she still dislikes Izzy (even if it's cooled down from before) and will not let her forget about what she did to her.
-->'''Izzy:''' Whew! That was exactly what I needed.\
'''Venus:''' You're [[{{Pun}} whale]][[CallBack cum]].\
'''Izzy''': *''nervously''* Uh... right. So, uh...does this mean...are we...Are we cool?\
'''Venus:''' *''after giving it some thought''* Sure. We're "cool."
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Under her bandages, her face has a splash-like scar across the top right half of her face and both her cheeks. She is also the main villain for Vol. 2.
* NoSympathy: Her reaction upon seeing Asher on the floor, holding his arm stump, bleeding out and clearly in pain?
--> '''Venus:''' ({{Beat}}) *''sneering''* ''Pathetic''.
* PlotAllergy: She's allergic to whale cum and her severe reaction to it drives her vengeance against Izzy in Vol. 2. She lampshades the absurdity of it when dropping her WhamLine.
* PutOnABus: She has yet to show up in Part 2, having been last seen attending Izzy, Darcy and Tanya's wedding in the finale of Part 1.
* {{Revenge}}: She wants to ruin Izzy's popularity and career because she was the one who scarred her face and ended her career prospects.
* ScarsAreForever: Averted. Most characters keep whatever scars they get, but Venus is the sole exception and that's only because Izzy paid for her plastic surgery.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: In "[[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1332/ Copycat]]", Venus is disillusioned by both the current political process in the United States (in this comic, anyway) and with [[TooDumbToLive the borderline suicidal idiocy of the American public]]. Thus, inspired by Izzy and Key Manati, she decides to leave the U.S. and restart her political career in another land.
* TakeOverTheWorld: This is her new goal now, as of Vol. 6. Downplayed heavily, as she's not interested in taking over the world but rather becoming a ruler of her own country, much like Izzy. She sets up shop in [[TheApunkalypse a Mad Max-style autonomous zone]] called [[FunWithAcronyms G.A.R.Y]].[[note]]General Anarchy and Rebellious Yelling[[/note]] It's implied that she plans to overthrow G.A.R.Y's current warlord and become it's new leader. As of "Those Guys", she has succeeded in becoming G.A.R.Y's first president as well as taking over the entire state of Washington.
* TwoFaced: She was splashed mostly on the right side of her face, giving her a disfiguring allergy scar.
* VillainousBreakdown: Her constant failures of making Izzy face legal repercussions slowly but surely [[SanitySlippage drive her off the deep end]], to the point where she just decides to kill her. When even ''that'' proves to be failing, she is just crying over her terrible circumstances when she finally tells Izzy her backstory....

!!Captain Orca
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_orca_2.png]]
%%
The BigBad of volumes 3 and 4, Captain Orca was a nice and chill sea captain who moved to Key Manati alongside his crew. However, it's slowly revealed that he had his [[{{Revenge}} own reasons]] for moving there....

----
* {{Acrofatic}}: Despite being built like a sumo wrestler, he's a formidable melee fighter. He beats several of Izzy's guard to a pulp and is able to hold his own against Darcy.
* AffablyEvil: In general he is an extremely friendly and cheerful guy. He is also relentlessly searching for fish girls out of a desire for revenge against one particular fish girl and will hurt anyone that gets in his way.
* BigFun: When he isn’t obsessed with killing the Jellyfish Girl, he’s a pretty affable guy who’s down to have fun with the others. He’s also REALLY big in terms of height and weight.
* FatBastard: He's very massive in girth and height, and serves as a major antagonist for one arc.
* ForcedToWatch: In the flashback detailing his FreudianExcuse, he was forced to watch as the Jellyfish Girl ate the dead bodies of his departed crewman, including his father the captain, for 15 days straight due to the fact his leg was trapped in an anchor.
* BabiesEverAfter: He and Ally are having a baby together, as revealed in "Those Guys."
* InterspeciesRomance: Ends up having one with his first mate Ally, a chimera.
* KarmaHoudini: Averted; It looks like, after their HeelFaceTurn that Captain Orca and his crew will get away with trying to kill the Jellyfish Girl, Izzy and Darcy and nearly destroying Key Manati in the process. Then the arc ends with Darcy climbing up into their boat with a SlasherSmile and [[BloodKnight demanding a rematch]]. Subverted, though; "Cannon Maintenance" reveals that Darcy let Orca and the others go. [[CurbStompBattle She still beats the crap out of him, tho]].
* {{Revenge}}: Orca is obsessed with finding and killing one particular fish girl, the Jellyfish Girl. His backstory reveals that after his father's boat was destroyed by a storm, she ate the corpses of his father and the other crew in front of him over the course of several days. His leg was trapped under the boat's anchor, leaving him unable to stop it, and it seemed to deliberately ignore his pleas for help. Even after he learns that it's actually the fish girl version of a Portuguese man-o'-war and doesn't even have a brain, [[TheUnfettered he doesn't stop]].
* SeadogPegleg: Orca's missing left leg is replaced by a peg. In his backstory, the shipwreck that killed his father and the other crew of their boat left him washed ashore but with his left leg pinned for days under the anchor, which was too heavy to lift. He eventually hacked it off with a sharp rock, partly out of rage over the fish girl eating everyone and partly because it looked like it was going to come after him.
* SaveTheVillain: He is the recipient of this trope; once his hand gets caught under a rock while under water, the Jellyfish Girl, the target of his {{Revenge}} comes to him. In a reversal of their earlier encounter, she actually does save him by moving the rock and lets him swim away after. [[HeelFaceTurn This act finally makes him let go of his violent vendetta.]]
* TheUnfettered: He ''will'' exact his vengence upon the Jellyfish Girl, even if it means resorting to kidnapping, murder and destroying an entire island.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Izzy tries to save Orca from the crumbling platform and stop his vendetta using this trope, telling him that she has seen him outside of his obesssion. It doesn't work.
--> '''Captain Orca:''' *''after briefly pondering''* [[ShutUpKirk Ye've never TRULY]] [[ThenLetMeBeEvil seen me afore today.]]

%%
A crotchety old marine biologist who has a vested interest in fish-girls.

----
* EvilutionaryBiologist: He likes to study fish girls. And by "study", we mean kidnapping, murdering and dissecting them.
* GrumpyOldMan: He's your stereotypical old coot complaining about those younger than him and generally just an unpleasant old soul.
* MeaningfulName: Considering he greatly resembles a flamingo (his nose resembles a flamingo beak for example), his nickname is quite appropriate.
* SinisterSchnoz: His beak-shaped nose is what earned him his nickname, and he's an old geezer with an evil streak.
* VerbalTic: He goes "WARK!" whenever he finishes speaking, is annoyed or when someone physically assaults him.

!!Ally
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_ally.png]]
%%
Orca's first mate, a strange-looking young woman who is always seen smoking a joint and acting real chill.

----
* BabiesEverAfter: Her and Orca are having a baby together, as revealed in "Those Guys." In "Tetrapods Reign Eternal", she's seen in the background alongside the other crewmates, carrying her child.
-->'''Ally:''' *''heavily pregnant''* CAP'N! My feet hurt, come gimme a foot rub!\
'''Orca:''' Aye-aye.
* BlackEyesOfCrazy: Downplayed. Her half-alligator heritage gives her these eyes, and while she can be very vicious, the rest of the time she's just relaxed and mild-mannered.
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: Turns out that, if you are a chimera, you'll drown once you hatch, and your mother will die if she spends more than six hours on land. Even then Ally's mother did everything in her power to make sure she would be safe and was openly weeping the entire time.
* DisappearedDad: While we know what happened to her mother, it's still unknown what became of Ally's father after her conception.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Ally has green hair, weird eyes and pointed, razor-sharp teeth, and is eventually revealed to be half-alligator.
* InterspeciesRomance: Ends up having one with Captain Orca, who is human.
* ALizardNamedLiz: An alligator-girl named Ally. Orca clearly wasn't that creative when he came up with a name for her.
* RaisedByWolves: Ally's mother placed a spell on some swamp alligators to make them think Ally was their own child to help them take care of her. Indeed, she lived in the swamp for a long while before Orca found her.
* PregnantReptile: Ally is shown to be pregnant in the final right panel of "[[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1359 Those Guys]]." As a reminder, Ally is half-alligator.
* TheStoner: {{Invoked|Trope}} by Orca [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/603/ when introducing Allie to Izzy]].
-->'''Orca:''' That there is Ally, me first mate. Don't worry none about her. She ain't a good acquaintanceship with talkin', on account o' the weed smoke addling her brains.\
'''Izzy:''' Oh good, she'll fit right in.
** Orca later reveals that marijuana is the one thing that keeps her animalistic instincts in check. Without them, she acts much more like an alligator than a human.
** Gets exploited by Izzy later, who distracts her by cooking up marijuana-filled food to lure Ally away and into a warehouse so she won't be of use to Orca.

[[folder:Florida Man and associates]]
!!"Florida Man" (real name: ???)
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_florida1.png]]
%%
The mysterious man known only as "Florida Man" (so far) is chaos personified, and is more deeply tied to Izzy than is known at first. He was the BigBad of volumes 5 and 6 and maybe ''[[GreaterScopeVillain the entire comic as a whole.]]''

----
* AddictionPowered: Apparently, if he takes large doses of different kinds of drugs and alcohol, he's able to gain superhuman abilities like {{Telepathy}}. This saves Izzy and Addy's lives when he uses his power to contact a fish girl he knew to save them.
* AffablyEvil: He's quite jovial, loyal and energetic for a guy who loves to stew chaos.
* ArchEnemy: Izzy seems to consider him as this. The ''very image'' of him manages to send her to a seething rage.
* BeyondRedemption: What he ultimately believes himself to be in "[[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1389 Help]]"; when Izzy offers to help him, believing that anyone can be saved (even ''him''), he rejects her offer telling her earlier that "some people can't be helped"
* ChaosIsEvil: He loves stewing chaos and dysfunction simply because he felt like it and doesn't seem to care about the fallout unless he found short-term joy out of it.
* TheCorrupter: After meeting Izzy and Adelie when they were kids, he introduced them to drugs and booze while also scheming to get them away from their mother. He also introduced their mother to drugs before they were born.
* DeathSeeker: Turns out, all he really wants is to die; it was implied in "Can't" when he was goading Izzy to shoot him. It was practically confirmed in the later strips, especially in the last two panels of "[[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1371 Stranger]]."
---> '''Izzy:''' That's not how this works at all![[note]]Florida Man had just told her he plans to detonate a nuclear explosive and spread it's radiation across Florida[[/note]] And you'll die in the blast too!\
'''Florida Man:''' [beat] *''a wide, toothy smile spreads across his face''* Maybe.
* TheDyingWalk: How Florida Man (supposedly) finally meets his end in "Floridian Burial." Instead of accepting Izzy's offer of help, he chooses to jump off the boat and walk off into the dark. With the gunshot wounds in his arms still bleeding, it's pretty clear he may die.
* EyeColorChange: He can seemingly change his eye color more or less at will.
* FacialHorror: His right eye is solid black with a red iris, and the skin around it is stitched on and visibly withered, looking much like a really bad attempt at a skin graft.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: When telling Izzy his motivations for blowing up Florida with a nuclear bomb in "Gouge", she expresses no sympathy for him. He understands, telling her that it's "an explanation, not an excuse."
* GreaterScopeVillain: He is almost ''single-handedly'' responsible for Izzy and Adelie becoming the dysfunctional, addled adults they are currently, starting from when he got their mother addicted to drugs.
* HealingFactor: When Izzy shoots him in the shoulder and arm, the wounds seem to heal rapidly. However, in his final appearances, the arm is still bleeding out, implying that his healing factor is no longer working.
* TheHedonist: Much more so than Izzy! In fact, ''he'' was the one who introduced her to his lifestyle of getting drunk and/or high, commit criminal acts and generally doing whatever they feel like doing, damn the consequences.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: He was Ponce de Leon, a real life Spanish conquistador and explorer who was famous for leading the first European expedition to Florida. [[ILied Or maybe he wasn't]]. '''[[MultipleChoicePast Maybe]]'''.
* ICannotSelfTerminate: As Florida Man goads Izzy into shooting him, he mentions that "I can't even kill me" almost to mock her for thinking she can kill him. Whether that means he actually [[DeathSeeker wants to die]] remains a mystery for now. Indeed, his plan to unleash a nuclear bomb across Florida is more-or-less his way of trying to end his life. In "Stranger", when told by Izzy that he could die in the blast, [[DeathSeeker Florida Man]] gives an almost ''estatic'' smile on his face.
* IdentityAmnesia: Apparently, even ''he'' isn't sure of his origins.
* ImmortalitySeeker: Florida Man probably was one, a long time ago. Specifically, he was once Ponce de Leon, a Spanish explorer who once made an expedition to Florida, searching for the FountainOfYouth. However, his wife fell ill and [[BloodFromTheMouth grew worse as the search went on]]. He eventually found the fountain and tried desperately to cure her illness by making her drink the water, even trying it himself. Alas, she had already died, leaving him to be forever young. However, as Florida Man reveals to Izzy, that was a lie. [[MultipleChoicePast Or maybe not.]]
* MoralityPet: In the flashbacks, Izzy and Adelie almost serve as this for him. Keyword being ''almost'' due to the [[TheCorrupter reveal by the end of Vol. 5]]. But, by his last appearance, he ultimately spares Izzy when she and her friends foil his latest scheme. He even expresses [[SoProudOfYou pride in Izzy]] for becoming a better person than he is.
* MultipleChoicePast: Discussed by him in "Maybe." Any of them could be true....
--> '''Florida Man:''' Maybe I '''AM''' Ponce de Leon himself. '''MAYBE''' I'm the animate spirit of the swamps, stalking Florida for all time. Maybe I am the god of a native american people long-extinct. But what if...Maybe....'''''I'M JUST SOME ASSHOLE?'''''
* OnlyInFlorida: He is the embodiment of the archetypical "Florida Man", albeit PlayedForDrama.
* OlderThanTheyLook: While the mime/clown battle is going on in the library's parking lot, Len discovers in the archives that "Florida Man" has been around since possibly the early 1700s, causing trouble every time he shows up.
* ParentalSubstitute: Izzy and Addy consider him such, as he's the only adult who has ever been helpful and nice toward them, and it seems that he cares a great deal about them in turn. But when he happily reveals that he introduced their mother to drugs, [[BrokenPedestal their image of him as this trope completely]] ''[[BrokenPedestal shatters]]''. By the present, Izzy clearly ''hates'' his guts; at one point, just seeing him get away cause the blood vessel in her eye to pop from sheer anger.
* PracticallyJoker: Florida Man takes a lot of cues from ComicBook/TheJoker (minus being a MonsterClown); he commits random acts of chaos simply because he "[[ForTheEvulz feels like it]]", [[ChaosIsEvil is hedonistic to an almost disturbing degree]], [[TheCorrupter corrupts the main characters in various ways]] like introducing a then-preteen Izzy and Addy to drugs, alcohol and various debaucherous activities and, before the two of them were born, possibly turning their mother into a violent drug addict, and finally having a MultipleChoicePast.
* ScarsAreForever: He has an autopsy scar across his torso, yet is still up and moving.
* TragicVillain: Beneath the hedonism, corrupting influence, and chaos for the sake of chaos, he's a suicidal shell of a man who's far more bothered by his ambiguous past than he lets on, and he ends his time in the series refusing Izzy's attempts to help him, as he believes he's not worth saving, and walking off into the night to (possibly) bleed out unceremoniously.
* VillainousRescue: As his plan to get Izzy and Addy away from their mother goes horribly awry, he is forced to telepathically contact Red Snapper's mom to tell her to get them out of the car before they drown.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's really hard to talk about him without spoiling his connection to Izzy and Adelie.
* WaterSourceTampering: It's revealed to be part of his ultimate plan; he, rather bashfully, tells Izzy that [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1366 he put drugs into Tampa's water supply]].

Methany is a mime who hangs around with "Florida Man" in the present day. Her miming skills are so advanced that they can actually affect reality around her to some degree.

----
* DeliberatelyMonochrome: The influence of her miming on the people and environment around her is shown by the panels gradually becoming sapped of color. This is first seen in [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1253 "Shh"]]; in [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1254 "Grenade"]] everything has become completely B/W. This later reoccurs when she traps Izzy in an invisible box while they're having sex and makes her getaway.
* PunnyName: Meth + Bethany.
* YourMimeMakesItReal: She is an ''exceptionally'' convincing mime.

* AndNowYouMustMarryMe: At one point, Clem and his brothers Verne and Jimbo kidnap Izzy with the intent of forcing her to marry Jimbo.
* DrearyHalfLiddedEyes: Clem's eyes are almost always half-lidded, along with his scleras colored red, often to show that he's a stoner.

The BigBad of Volume 7's "Spagheddon: A True Ennui GO! Story", the Spaghetti Bandit is a mysterious student who has been attacking everyone in Key Manati High by pelting them with spaghetti.
----
* PubertySuperpower: In "[[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1466 Changes]]", when it was revealed that Meat Boy is the "Spaghetti Bandit", Max wonders how he developed the ability to create and spit out spaghetti just by shoving pasta down his throat. Calixta deduces that it's because Meat Boy is going through puberty.

[[folder:Cronus and Xierdra Goetias]]
The {{Big Bad}}s of Volume 8, Cronus and Xierdra are Calixta's parents who disapprove of their daughter's relationship with Max and push her into becoming the model successor of their magical crime family.
----
* BoyfriendBlockingDad: Both of them hate Max for being a bad influence on their daughter, and forcing them to break up is one of the many ways they control Calixta's life. Ultimately, once it becomes clear how much they love each other, they allow Max and Calixta to continue dating -- though not before Cronus makes it clear to Max [[IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHer what will happen]] if he makes Calixta unhappy.
* ParentsAsPeople: Ultimately, they want to make sure their children are happy and successful, but they're so focused on what ''they'' want for their children that they completely failed to take into account whether the kids want to take over their business or not. When Calixta makes it clear that what she wants is different from what they want (and when it becomes apparent her friends will stop at nothing to see her happy), they realize how badly they messed up and agree to be more lenient towards her in the future.

----
* AbusiveParents: Not quite as bad as his wife, but it’s subtly clear that he is emotionally manipulative toward his daughter, acting the role of a gruff yet caring parent only to push Calixta toward the path he desires for her over her own wants.
* AffablyEvil: Cronus acts as a loving (in a stoic way), concerned parent toward his daughter and acts civil towards Len when they meet in her office and even toward Max when they meet on the beach, but it's quite obvious there is cold ruthlessness underneath his affability.
* TheDon: He's not only the patriarch of Calixta's family, he's also the head of a mafia full of mages. He acts quite affable, yet is obviously very intimidating and threatening.
* GreaterScopeVillain: "Understanding" reveals that he was Len's drug supplier to help her "supress [her] visions that ravage [her]" before she met Izzy and co. He even mentions he had "ways" of keeping her out of trouble, and vaguely threatens to bring her back to whatever state she was before if Calixta keeps getting in trouble.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: As "Construct" shows, Cronus completely towers over his wife.

* AbusiveParents: Based on her first speaking appearance alone, she's very cold and harsh toward her children. With Calixta specifically, she is also extremely dismissive and controlling, often trying to force her to focus on becoming a model successor to the family business over anything else.
* EducationMama: She is obsessed with Calixta's academic performance and constantly voices her displeasure over anything that gets in the way of that; she expresses clear disappointment over Calixta just getting an A on a test rather than an A+.
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: She really enjoys smoking cigars, even in a limo with her whole family present.
* HateSink: Compared to her husband, Xierdra proves to be the more outwardly abusive parent towards Calixta, being overly controlling and sometimes snide if she feels her daughter succeeds below her high expectations. She is also generally smug and haughty, looking down on anyone she considers beneath her (even Izzy, who is a billionaire and literal ''queen'' of the island Xierdra and her family resides in). She does receive a bit more depth later on, especially as she explains to Calixta why she is so hard on her and eventually allows her to continue her relationship with Max.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: "Construct" shows that Xierdra barely reaches her husband's shoulders.
* ParentsAsPeople: "[[https://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1759/ Bonding]]" has Xierdra explain to her daughter that the reason she is so harsh toward her is to toughen her up and rise to be a better person against the chaotic world they reside in.
* RichBitch: She's the wife of a wealthy and magical mafia don, and a complete and utter bitch.
* SpeechImpediment: "[[https://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1789 Her Voice]]" reveals that she has a stutter like her daughter, but hides it and only shows it when she's flustered.

* CannibalismSuperpower: In order to get the power needed to mutate Andi, he summons an eldritch creature and swallows it whole.
* EmptyShell: For whatever reason, he doesn't have an astral form, which Min equates to him not having a soul.
* EyesAlwaysShut: His eyes remain closed most of the time; whenever they do open, they only do so slightly, and it's used to emphasize his creepiness.

[[quoteright:200:[[labelnote:Click to see her in the present '''(SPOILER WARNING)''']]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/old_morrigan.png[[/labelnote]]]]
%%
Izzy and Adelie's [[AbusiveParents mother]] and Max's grandmother. A drug addict with [[SplitPersonalities three split personalities]], one of which is named "Morrigan", who is a nightmarish, savage figure who speaks only in old Irish folk songs and generally made her daughters' lives a living hell, the effects of which still haunts them to this day.

----
* AbusiveParents: During an acid trip, Izzy sees flashes of her mother's childhood, revealing that she was also abused by at least one of her parents.
* AddledAddict: It's clear that her constant drug use destroyed what little sanity she had left. As of "Hail", she's practically catatonic as she lies in a sickbed.
* BackForTheDead: She shows up in the present day in a hospital bed, barely alive, and soon dies right after Izzy finally visits her.
* TheBusCameBack: She had disappeared from the story after the final flashback and it was left ambiguous what happened to her after she was arrested. Then, after Izzy's final confrontation with Florida Man, [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1392 she finally appears in the present]]; she's '''much''' older, lying in a hospital bed hooked up to an IV and appears barely ''alive'' when Izzy makes a visit.
* DiseaseBleach: If what Izzy sees while tripping is anywhere close to reality, her mother acquired a gray streak in her blond hair at some point after becoming pregnant with Izzy and Adelie, and picked up more the older she got and the more she descended into drugs and insanity. By the present, her hair has gone fully gray and is shorter, though that may be due to the hospital she's in.
* DyingAlone: After Izzy left her room, Morrigan is implied to have died in her hospital bed, alone.
* EyeScream: The redness of her right eye is likely due to spreading infection from the track marks near it. "Quiet" makes this even worse, as she's actually bleeding from under that eye and has a bloody syringe in her hand, making it all but certain that she shot up ''into'' the eye. A few strips later, a bit of imagery lampshades this; after beating Izzy and throwing her and Adelie into her car and driving away, the windshield has a web of jagged cracks that shifts as she moves but stays centered on that eye. However, when we see her in the present, the redness in her eye has completely vanished and appears free of any infection.
* EvilCounterpart: She can be considered this to her daughters Izzy and Adelie. She's argubably what both sisters could've ended up as if they didn't have a strong, supportive group of people on their side (Izzy with her TrueCompanions (especially [[FriendsWithBenefits Noah, Hashim]], [[{{Polyamory}} Darcy and Tanya]]), Adelie with [[HappilyMarried Bella]] and [[BreakingTheCycleOfBadParenting Max]]). Izzy even lampshades this aspect somewhat, telling her mom that she could've been a much different person and even a better mother had things been different for her.
* FightingIrish: Played for horror. Her "Morrigan" aspect sings or talks [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1022 in really dark lyrics from old Irish folk songs]] when she's on the rampage, [[FunetikAksent brogue and all]].
* FreudianExcuse: Based on what Izzy sees in her acid trip (and comfirmed to be true in "Love, Love, Love"), we learn that her and Addy's mother had it just as bad as her daughters did: she was horrifically [[AbusiveParents abused by one or both of her parents]], bad enough to have [[SanitySlippage her sanity damaged]], her mind splitting into three seperate personalities and becoming [[AxCrazy psychotically]] [[TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior violent]]. Then, when she got older, she was introduced to illegal substances and used them to self-medicate, even prostituting herself to get more money to buy them [[SonOfAWhore which is implied to be how Izzy and Adelie were concieved]]. Even worse, Florida Man [[TheCorrupter was the one who got her hooked in the first place]]. While it ultimately does not excuse her horrific abuse toward her daughters, Morrigan's life is a tragic story and it lead to her becoming a monster.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: Izzy tells her mother in "Love, Love, Love" that she did some research into her past and acknowledged that, as bad as her and Adelie had it, their mom had it even ''worse''. But, despite now knowing what she had experienced, Izzy states that she will never forgive her mother for all the torment she put her and her sister through.
* GreaterScopeVillain: She kinda shares this role with [[spoiler:Florida Man]], as she is the reason why Izzy and Addy became the traumatised, messed-up people they are currently.
* HiddenDepths: In "Ravens", as she's going through with her attempted murder and the three personalities are ranting in her head, one of them clearly doesn't want to do this and expresses fear for her daughters and tearfully lamenting about what she's about to do to them. It almost shows that, somewhere deep down, she does love her children...or she would've if the other sides of herself weren't so powerful.
* HonorThyAbuser: Despite the fact that she tried to kill them all those years ago, Izzy and Adelie still cared enough about their mother to put her in a decent hospital when her condition grew worse. It's downplayed, however, as Izzy admits to her mother when she finally visits her that she doesn't forgive her for her actions but no longer feels any hate toward her either.
* KilledOffForReal: "The Last Show on Earth" revealed that Morrigan had died after Izzy left her room, with her three personalities, who are now younger, entering the afterlife and meeting with the same [[TheGrimReaper Grim Reaper]] Izzy met years back.
* MoodSwinger: [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1023 When she's first fully revealed]], she seems to be insanely furious, but then seems almost sad, and then merely angry. Later on, as her past is shown via Izzy's acid trip, it becomes clear that the abuse she suffered caused her mind to break into three aspects, one overcome by sadness and pain, one consumed by hate and rage, and the violently psychotic "Morrigan". It's also implied that [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1173 her drug use is a way to get her mind calmed down enough to function]]. When she finally snaps and tries to kill the girls, [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/1179/ "Morrigan" is completely in control]], with the other two sides talking in frames on either side of her head.
* OffingTheOffspring: She tried this, as revealed by [[http://ennuigo.thecomicseries.com/comics/698/ the fish girl's story to her daughter]]. A much later story arc reveals exactly what happened; she dragged them to her car, drove into the ocean and, when she jumped out, [[TrappedInASinkingCar left them there to drown]].
* OnlyOneName: Seeing as Pritchard is a fake name that was cooked up by Florida Man to help Izzy and Adelie start a new life, we have absolutely no idea what her surname is.
* {{Reincarnation}}: It's implied in "Introductions" that she ended up reincarnating as her own granddaughter [[DeadGuyJunior Morgan]].
* SheCleansUpNicely: Played for horror in one of the flashbacks to Izzy and Adelie's teen years. Izzy tells a social worker about her mother, but when they go to Izzy's house, they find her mother in regular clothes, behaving in an unusually chipper manner and having cleaned the house. The social worker leaves; when Izzy asks how she knew, her mother says she didn't, she was hopped to the gills on Adderall and cleaned everything up as a result... and then she attacks Izzy.
* SplitPersonality: Has three of them: one representing [[UnstoppableRage her rage and hatred]], one her [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone sadness and regret]] and of course, [[FightingIrish Morri]][[AxCrazy gan]].
* WalkingSpoiler: It's bit hard to talk about her without revealing how she tried to kill her daughters, her own DarkAndTroubledPast, her connection to Florida Man and, after seeing Izzy again in the present, her death and eventual (possible) reincarnation as Izzy's daughter.

Calixta's cousin.
----
* ConnectedAllAlong: Initially introduced as an antagonistic clown during the "Two Worlds" arc, he later turns out to be a member of the Goetias family.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's prejudiced against Juggalos to the point of assaulting one with a rock in a pie, and he repeatedly gets Calixta in trouble with her parents without a hint of remorse.
* NonIronicClown: Subverted; he's introduced as part of a group of these and initially appears to be one, but turns out to be a jerk.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: "Boingo Peabody" is clearly a stage name he uses when performing as a clown. His real name is never given, though his last name is presumably Goetias.
* TheStoolPigeon: Repeatedly tattles on Calixta whenever he finds her doing something her parents would disapprove of.
