Literature/OrdinarilyUnited takes after many of its inspirations in quickly introducing a wide number of characters as the web novel's early chapters go on. While the first chapter does not crack the double-digits of named characters, the fact that the main villain team is called the "Hundred Demons" should be an indicator that there are plenty. And unlike most stories with a large group of villains of the week, Ordinarily United explicitely promises to show all of them eventually.

!! Main Characters

-->I'm very much a "point to a thing and I do it" kind of guy.

The top-ranking hero in all of Canada (and also/basically, the world) and a man who became famous when he, halfway through being fourteen years old, suddenly gained a number of skills in terms of both physical ability and sheer talent at most subjects. Except cooking things from scratch (he can still work with pre-made meals and the like, he just has difficulty making raw ingredients in to fine meals). Also, his parents died and he found a mysterious weapon -- a boomerang made of a strange, glowing glass-like material -- that can home in on any enemy, and instantly slice up most of them.

* AmbiguouslyHuman: Hoo lord. For the first fourteen and a half years of his life, he seemed almost completely human. Then, suddenly, he gained a ludicrous number of super-feats and becomes great at almost everything. His own bloodstream has some kind of "silver properties" in it, which makes no goddamn sense. Blazing Fast believes that he, Unitia Origin, and the Eighth Circle were blessed by "The Great One," but information on that is very vague.
* AnimalMotif: Horses. Once he toyed around with Grayscale since, prior, he never really felt the need to before, he found that he could summon an EnergyBeing horse that he can use as a sort of extra-strong power up to fight along the level of the Rock Holders. He's based on Link, a man often seen with one horse (Epona) or several (the various horses in Breath of the Wild). On a tangent, Stella says "unicorn" as her safeword while Carlson's within earshot, when wanting her date of the week to stop with the "sexy talk."
* ComplexityAddiction: Hinted at in the first chapter, with him and Unitia Origin going out of their way to "combine" Chess and Mushroom (Chess's Parallel counterpart, basically) in to a super-complex game that they both enjoy playing. Carlson does not like "easy," his whole life has been "easy" in before the Hundred Demons , so he goes for something more intricate.
* DangerousSixteenthBirthday: Parodied. His "powers" came to him and his parents died when he turned "fourteen and a half," the mean of sixteen and thirteen, another common age for coming of age story-heroes. OU itself is not a ComingOfAgeStory, and in fact the web novel proper takes place when he's an adult in his early twenties.
* Expy:
** He's inspired by Link in general and is meant to be a DeconstructiveParody of the OneManArmy-type hero. Carlson being good at everything is the way a potential hundred percent completionist run that beats all the minigames might be interpreted in a more general setting, from the lead character's point of view. His general apathy from being too overpowered is taken from Saitama, except otherwise he's almost the opposite. Saitama is viewed in the public eye as a nobody despite being one of, if not the strongest characters in his home series. Carlson, on the other hand, is a widely-known and beloved celebrity and ranked the number one hero, even though .
** His nerdier side in general harkens a little back to Soos -- specifically Soos's similarly-overpowered haremizing self from The Journals of Wisdom, Power, and Courage.
* GentleGiant: He's extremely tall by human standards (although the Unitias still dwarf him) and, while not an outwardly expressive bundle of joy, he can be pretty nice once you get a little close to him.
* GuiltyPleasure: His in-universe opinion on The High-Splash Adventures of Wavette. He'll be one of the first to admit that it's garbage, but he legitimately finds the fanservice hot and he just likes how the story is so stupid that he can't actually predict it.
* HasAType: Deconstructed since that "type" is very much implied to be unstable sociopaths, or just assholes in general. [[spoiler:Yuullieke is all-but outright confirmed to fit that whole category somewhat. He's seen being turned on by a manga of sorts about a yandere attacking someone, and when Unitia Two brings this up out loud, Unitia Origin briefly tenses up and gets a shocked expression on her face. While Unitia Origin has yet to do anything terrible, as the early arcs go on she does set up a few red flags and even openly spoke that her "past self" undoing everything she tried to do is one of the very few things she's afraid of.]]
* NotSoStoic: It's right there in the first chapter. A year in the past, he has a dull reaction to something huge landing near his backyard, and in the present, he has a dull reaction to Dagger meeting up with him. However, in the year in between where he got to know Unitia Origin, he becomes increasingly giddy and excited whenever arranging activities with her. Underneath the exterior of a giant, proud hero is just a big nerdy goofball that likes designing complicated counterparts to Chess and having a ton of fun playing them.

-->Oh, hi there...

An extremely powerful, super-talented soul being that can be summed up as a cross between a "real life computer program" and a StringyHairedGhostGirl. Hired by the government of the Parallel to prevent the Eighth Circle and his group from doing any damage to Earth, she went on the Hundred Demons as a double-agent to take them down from the inside. She was accepted right away both because of her status as the Eighth Circle's ex and because of her sheer infamous power. Regarding the latter: like Carlson, fourteen and a half years in to her existence she suddenly got a huge boost in a number of talents, although unlike Carlson she was already pretty damn good at a lot of things to begin with.

Tropes on the Unitia "species" as a whole go in their own section.

* BerserkButton: In addition to ones shared by all Unitias, she has a few of her own.
** She absolutely flips the fuck out around the Eighth Circle, similar to how Carlson loses his normally calm and stoic demeanor and has no idea how to act around him (in other words, the Eighth Circle is able to make both One and Carlson 180 in personality without even trying). It's revealed in Chapter 6 that her keeping up her usual playful attitude in the mission back on Chapter 3 was actually because she had time to emotionally prepare herself to even be near him; if he "sneaks up on her," she goes ballistic on him. The first thing she does when that happened the first time is
** She does not like being called "Unitia One," but this only really shows on an already-bad day.
** Origin really, really, really hates it when people bring up farting, pissing, or other toilet-related functions around her. It's implied to be a general Unitia thing, but as of Chapter 7 Origin is the only one who really reacts to that. It's quite telling that when she threatens to kill Swinging Blade for calling their fireballs "fire farts," he actually corrects himself, when he otherwise keeps his same mistakes going. Like calling nepotism "nepetaism."
* ManicPixieDreamGirl: Parodied and deconstructed. The parody part is that she literally dropped down from the sky, landed near Carlson's house (she technically landed closer to Richshirt's house, but Richshirt was scared off from her appearance and flat-out moved away for a period of time, to parody what would happen if someone closer to a "typical loser protagonist" saw someone like Unitia Origin), and shook up his otherwise dull and lonely life. Deconstructed in that she's far from perfect with a number of personal issues stemming from her past, and it's implied that there is at least some degree to which what she does is unhealthy.
* StepfordSmiler: While coming off as a playful trickster at first once she drops the act of being an ominous "ghost villain," under that she [[spoiler:feels hopeless, believing that no amount of preparation or planning will stop the Eighth Circle from wiping out humanity when it's time for him to finally become "active." Starting in Chapter 10, she develops out of this, believing that it may indeed be possible to defeat the Eighth Circle after all.]]

-->Look, Unitia creation is complicated, but you will get used to it!

The first of the "additional" Unitias spawned by the Generator. With hot pink as her associated color rather than jade, she's a foil to Unitia One in a number of ways and is far more playful than either One/Origin or Carlson.

* TheHeart: She started out as a sort of passive-aggressive version of this that was still the emotional-thinker deep down, but after the early chapters she mellowed out in to a more reasonable guide and pretty much serves as Origin's conciousness.
* Irony: She's associated with "destruction" while Origin/One is associated with "creation." Despite that, Two is generally more outgoing, nicer, and more playful on average, while One is weighed down by angst and can be a bit snappy. One would normally expect the "destruction" of a duo to be the more violent and less sociable one while "creation" is more outgoing, but it's the other way around with these two.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[spoiler:When Unitia One returns from her guilt-trip run off in to space, Unitia Two does this twofold. Not only is she notably angry to the point where she seems more annoyed than relieved at One's return, but she's also just about the only Unitia not acting in unison along with Unitia One's plans.]]

-->I'm just really kinda training to be a hero because I hate seeing other people getting their lives fucked by criminals. Also, for fun.

A powerless human who works a boring job at the Stelkazh coffee chain, in other words it seems like the [=OUverse=]'s counterpart of Starbucks until Chapter 10 reveals that it and Starbucks co-existed until Stelkazh surprisingl ran it out of business. Sleeping around with others a lot and generally trying to be a crime-fighter, she joined up with Carlson and the Unitias when they ended up crossing paths and became their first ally not part of the harem.

* ActionGirl: Not to the extent as the Unitias, but she can still take on three large men in a fight and win by herself, and the first time she's really lost to one of the Hundred Demons is when said opponent had a motorcycle as part of her body. Regardless, she still at least somewhat puts up a fight against Mleltersighcko, and fighting off anyone who for all intents and purposes is "on a" motorcycle is still fairly impressive.
* BadassNormal: While she's still OvershadowedByAwesome when it comes to Carlson and especially the Unitias, she's still not someone anyone would want to fuck with. One of the first things she's seen doing is beating the ever-loving tar out of three large thugs with her only help being a weak guy whose single punch doesn't do a thing to them. She successfully takes on Cowiris, basically a large floating snake-ish monster made of targets that can unleash BulletHell, and also fights off against the Moth Reaper -- a giant skull-headed monster that can break up in to a swarm of moths.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Reconstructed. She's greatly contrasted with Carlson and the Unitias in that she's a "regular" person who simply works out and trains, while Carlson and the Unitias just have ridiculous power handed to them immediately. Rather than going in to analyzing how bad this would be or showing her as feeling inaddiquate, she's just simply assigned to "easier" villains and Demons while the other main characters take on the Shiny Rock Holders and similarly-high threats.
* PlatonicLifePartners: With just about all of her co-workers, but especially Carlson. Despite Stella's sleeping around a lot and Carlson canonically being polyamours (despite not wanting to be at first), Stella and Carlson barely have so much as a ShipTease. Even when they're both naked as they talk about Carlson's mixed feelings on the Unitias' doubling every day.

!! The Unitias

A strange electronic/magic device tied to all Unitias, and heavily implied to be a soul being... but an inanimate one, that conducts its "doing" through the Unitias.

* Expy: In an odd way, WordOfGod is that the Generator is like to the Unitias what Onions are to Pikmin. A bizarre form of "storage" responsible for their multiplication.

Surprise (to Carlson, a day after Hibernation ended)! It turns out Unitia Origin/One is not the only one of her kind, and that the Generator actually makes more Unitias each day. Specifically, however many there were the "previous" day since Unitia One became physical, the Generator doubles that.

* AnimalMotifs: Bugs in general, Fan briefly mentioned trying to home in on ants specifically.
* BerserkButton:
** Never tell a Unitia to put on clothes after she already knows you know she'll answer that with "no." You'll be lucky if she swears and screams at you. Panties especially is a horrible idea.
** They don't seem to like being lumped up as one person, although it's not clear if this is a total-Unitia thing or a Unitia Two thing.
* BigEater: Unitias are often seen making large quantities of food and then eating them almost immediately. It helps that they're apparently really good at making food in the same way Carlson is exceptionally drawn to gardening,
* CatchPhrase:
** "Oh, hi there!" and variations, because it's .GIFfany's first line in her home show.
** They -- or at least One and Two -- love saying "You'll get used to it," mostly to Carlson about some of their odd quirks. Mostly about their multiplication.
* CreepyGood: They are extremely tall, lanky monster things that look like they could easily rip any regular human to shreds, and they're even more powerful than they already look. (As they already look like they "just" have "standard ghost strength" and the like, when in reality they can punch holes in stars and destroy kaiju-sized monsters with a single finger-flick.) They're still the good guys.
* CuteMonsterGirl: Downplayed. They are more humanoid than a number of the really weird-looking Demons, but despite being the good guys of the group, there are villainous Demons that are far more human-looking. Namely, without the odd proportions. Blazing Fast looks just about completely human, and even characters like Pantalite or
* Expy:
** Of Great Pikmin Fan's DenserAndWackier, comical portrayals of the [=.GIFfany=] Army seen in Escape From Fanservice Island and Journals of Wisdom, Power, and Courage, in contrast to their more serious debut of run:gifocalypse (which would also be expy'd in Emazh In). While in run:gifocalypse the [=.GIFfanys=] took center stage spotlight and had a lot of serious character development, the Unitias here and the [=.GIFfanys=] in the other fan fics are mostly a background-padding harem that got DemotedToExtra while the "new" threats take center stage. They even go by the same color-coding system: the main green hair/eyed one (not counting the sea-green Unitia Origin) is an information agent ala Rose, the white hair/eyed one is usually quiet like Burrda, etc.
** The general Unitia appearance is a (much) HotterAndSexier take n the StringyHairedGhostGirl trope. Of all things, fan cites Specimen 4 (a monster trying to eat you), SCP-136 (which gives a hallucination of a nude woman with odd proportions that scares the viewer -- the inspiration in the Unitias from that description is obvious), and... Felicia as general inspirational characters.
** Confusingly Fan himself isn't sure how much, if any, influence Unity has on them.
* FanserviceExtra: One is the main lead, Two is her second-in-command, Three through Sixteen are said to be main in Extraordinarily, but from there their role greatly diminishes. The Unitias mostly serve as an exaggeration of the HaremGenre by quickly spanning off in to massive numbers.
* FullFrontalAssault: They do everything naked, and that includes fighting.
* FusionDance: They could hypothetically fuse, but compared to doing just about any other skill on the planet, they are notably not too good at it. At least, not Unitia One. Her attempts at fusing with Unitia Two was far from pretty, to say the least.
* HumanoidAbomination: They look humanoid, but they're unnaturally tall, slim yet also buxom to almost comical levels, can make any form of matter/energy from nothing (but this is a general magic thing), they double in number every day indefinitely, and they have some kind of super memory in addition to a number of superpowers and talents. Their ShapeshifterDefaultForm is already somewhat uncanny, but they willingly morph themselves in to full blown BodyHorror if they're either teasing around with a loved one or really hate who they're talking to.
* TheNeedless: It's implied that this is a Unitia thing, not a general soul being thing. The Unitias don't technically need food or sleep, they just like it.
* NightmareFetishist: Their reaction to being "trapped" in a creepypasta-like setting? Complain and critique to the illusion-giver that it's not scary enough. The Untiias in general love taking advantage of their shape-shifting to
* OneHitKill: How most of their fights tend to go. They are so absurdly powerful that just one of them can oneshot a given villain, and as their numbers grow it becomes less and less of a resource-waste to just have them rush the ever-loving shit out of a villain.
* PaletteSwap: The other major characters are implied to be a CastOfSnowflakes, but the Unitias all differ from one-another mostly by simple color-swaps. Or with different patterns, after "exhausting" a few colors.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Their doubling-every-day schtick is taken advantage of by all of them to allow for endless orgies with Carlson and each-other.
* ReallyWasBornYesterday: They are "clones" made by the Generator, with it making a doubling number of them each day. So, the ones just spawned just started existing. Their exact relationship to Unitia Origin is very confusing, but they're apparently not the same thing as siblings and compare themselves more to a self-making line of pleasure robots. That also have a ton of powers that can be used to save the world. Unlike other examples of the trope, they quickly "blend in to" and fit in to society pretty well. It's stated in the first chapter that all soul beings are essentially twenty-five,
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: All of them go around naked at all times, due to an active hatred for clothes. Especially, for... some reason, panties. Not only are they proud and open about this, but they actually get really pissed off if someone tells them to put clothes on. And not in the "slightly annoyed" sense, but to the point where they actually break out screaming and put on intimidating threats.
* ShapeShifterDefaultForm: The always-nude women with odd proportions. Their "main" male form seen is their other "default" form. Their female forms are their preferred appearances, and it's implied that their "true forms" might just be them turning in to fire of their respective color.
* StringyHairedGhostGirl: Fit the general appearance, down to Unitia One's debut having her hair covering her face for a moment. They've got sharp claws and teeth, have a tall and lanky appearance, can become intangible, and they creep the hell out of people they really don't like. And the "main" Unitia is even pale-skinned and dark-haired. For bonus points, despite not even being human at all, WordOfGod is that they have Japanese features. Even the ones with really dark brown skin. Or any skin color, for that matter.
* SuperpowerLottery: Faster than light, strong enough to toy around with entire stars, can phase-shift any matter and energy which more-or-less gives them the entire ElementalPowers page (except for abstractions like time and space that are not based on matter or energy, especially since WordOfGod is that there is no time travel in this story), instant healing on top of being NighInvulnerable, and they are so good with molecular manipulation that they can basically cure any disease in the books. These are just the powers of one Unitia. Every day, they are doubling in number, resulting in them breaking the hundred mark really early on in the story and just skyrocketing to the thousands by the third arc. The sole thing keeping them "balanced" is that the Eighth Circle is so much stronger than them that they constantly talk about how even ridiculously high numbers of them only might beat him in battle.
* TakeThat: The Unitias were designed to basically be anti-moe characters and walking criticisms/jabs at the whole general-scope moe appeal and fan base. Ordinarily United[='=]s author also openly hates the DamselInDistress and RescueRomance tropes. To sum it up, this shows. For more detail:
** All Unitias, especially the less-social and rather distant Origin, are CreepyGood at best and outright sketchy at worse. Absolutely nothing about them is supposed to come off as "innocent" or "pure," instead they can some times be prone to Alucard-esque deranged body transformations. WordOfGod is that he explicitely intended for the Unitias to hold the title of the "scariest" characters in the story, with Last -- whom he also described as "maybe looking like something out of the Rapture" -- and possibly the Inventor being their only real competition. While the Unitias as a whole definitely have their moments of being friendly, geeky, and all-around dorky, they're still almost never the sort of people you would want to come close to pissing off. If what they all collectively did to Pantalite is any indication.
** Despite all of them bar Unitia Origin technically just existing for a few days, they still look and act far more adult-like than a number of meme'd-around ReallySevenHundredYearsOld characters, because of the way all soul beings are spawned with a general set of knowledge and the Unitias have some loosely-described "template memories" from Origin on top of that. So even moments after their "births," the Unitias still quickly become self-caring adults, with the only "oddity" being that they find it a bit alien to actually feel things in real time rather than just having "split-second beginning of existence memories" of it.
** Rather than being small and flat-chested, the Unitias all have the same towering build going even over the already-tall (~6-7 feet) Carlson and intentionally exaggerated features that are supposed to make them feel like "hypersexual Freudian nightmares."
* TechnicallyNakedShapeshifter: Averted, they're all technically shape-shifters and could make fake-clothing for themselves or real clothing via matter synthesis, but they hate clothing so much that they don't even fake wearing it.
* UnwantedHarem: A DeconReconSwitch of this to Carlson. They are a very literal unwanted harem as Unitia One/Origin sprung the existence of them on him while they were already in a relationship, greatly confusing him and causing a bit of strain to them both. But they talk it out pretty quickly. Carlson still considers Unitia Origin his main love, but he's more than willing to sleep with the other Unitias on the side.
* YouSexyBeast: Most of their specific character inspirations are just flat-out monstrous beings, a lot of them played for horror. The Unitias themselves are actually not conventionally attractive by most standards, with their sharp teeth and unusually tall and deliberately over-busty proportions. The fact that some of the enemy Hundred Demons are even more human-looking than they are just seals the point. But they're still the main sources of fanservice, and it's plainly obvious that Carlson loves them regardless of looks. Or, at least Unitia Origin.

!! Other Stellar Silver Knights

* GenderIsNoObject: Their women outnumber their men -- to a ludicrous degree counting each Unitia individually -- and as shown in Chapter 10, they even all shower together.
* NotDistractedByTheSexy: None of them except possibly Stella and Hex give a rat's ass about the others' revealing outfits, and their base has a co-ed shower where nobody really oggles or comments about any nudity going on. It's also worth noting that in the OU-verse, practically EveryoneIsBi, so even in segregated showers the gang handles it in an extremely non-sexualized manner.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Once again, as with Stella, this is done on purpose and analyzed. Water powers, portals, a small mass that can turn in to any weapon, giant wolf forms etc may seem cool. But compared to the Unitias, whose "base" power is effectively generating any and every form of matter or energy out of absolutely nothing and have absurd SuperStrength, absurd SuperSpeed, and shape-shifting stacked on top of that, the gang seems downright miniscule. It does not help that a good number of these powers either have painful limitations, such as Leon's transformation only working when in direct sunlight.
* RainbowMotif: Seperate from the "more complicated" twelve-color rainbow (plus black, white, and a hot pink and jade sea green that don't really "fit" that cleanly on the wheel) of the main Unitias, they just have the "ROY G BIV" scheme with indigo out and cyan in. This is also the exact same color scheme used for the Shiny Rocks, plus black (who Stella fits, as she has an affinity for black outfits).
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Inverted. Not counting Carlson or the variety of powerless background Knights, Eldbrash and Leon are the only two men in the group.

A member of a strange, almost fairy/sprite-like species called a Guardian, specifically one of 900 subspecies called a Chilled Water Guardian. He's a muscular, blue-ish man with water powers that lives within one of the several lakes of Hill Town. He was at rest and completely unknown by humanity until one of the Hundred Demons attacked a civilian close enough to him, causing him to become active and try fighting them off. Once the Unitias do a number of things such as help with his lake and fight against the Demon that attacked him, he felt that he owed his entire life to the Unitias a whopping four times over, so he joined the just-barely-forming Stellar Silver Knights out of his sense of honor.

* BerserkButton: Don't even think (literally, thanks to a mind reader being with him) about calling his water "icey" or "cold." Those are different types of Guardians, and he hates having them get mixed up.
* MakingASplash: He can throw out "chilled" water. Remember that title, chilled, to him it's a very important distinction.

A former cop later revealed to have been working under Eighthback. She was laid off when an attack from the Hundred Demons resulted in her force being so badly damaged that insurance alone could not recover from it, and was dropped from the resulting smaller budget. She searched for a job in the Stellar Silver Knights, especially later once they recieved sponsoring from the Prime Minister himself and became an official job. She's close to being the unofficial "leader" of the "secondary"-Knights thanks to her serious demeanor and greater experience in battle.

* TheComicallySerious: She doesn't seem to be aware that much of how absurd her outfit is, or any of the situations that go on around her. She treats almost everything with utmost seriousness.

A flying telepath that works at a factory in the outskirts of Hill Town, who ended up flying in to the Knights almost by accident because they happened to have been fighting a small band of Demons there and she just wanted to see what was going on. Unfortunately, her mind-reading abilities do not work against soul beings, so when it comes to the Hundred Demons she has to rely on her flight and "Tele-Staff," a weapon that can fire out a large blast of pure energy... at the cost of it having a ridiculous cooldown time of seventy-two hours. At least before the Unitias tinker around with it.

A "lumenwolf" -- a person with a strange... well, something that causes him to turn in to a giant wolf creature, but only under direct noon sunlight.

* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Downplayed, his skin has a slightly yellowed tint to fit with most of the secondary knights having a general color scheme to go with their hair/outfits, but it's still suggested to be a realistic skin tone and not, say, Simpsons-yellow.
* AwesomeButImpractical: He can turn in to a gigantic wolf beast that can, if only to a small extent, hold off on his own against a Shiny Rock Holder. Unfortunately, he has a short window of time per day, and he must be in direct sunlight.
* NakedFirstImpression: He's first seen at the beginning of Chapter 5 after losing his clothes to a transformation, calmly asking someone who works at a store if it sells clothes. Because he needs clothes.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: He completely retains his human sapience in wolf form and he can only transform in the middle of daylight. And, apparently, the "equivalent" to a full moon for this is the sun right in the middle of high noon. It's implied that this is a very short window of time and something as simple as a cloud in the way could screw with it, so it's actually a pretty crappy power. He's called a lumenwolf, so it is not known if there are "traditional" lunar-based werewolves in Ordinarily United[='=]s universe. Given its status as a borderline FantasyKitchenSink and how Eldbrash and Kameel's species come in 900 varieties, there probably are.

A digital-based being that happened to stumble across Carlson and the Unitias' home by accident just after they finished dealing with an illusion-casting Demon. She was made by a company called "Preficorps," but then some as-of-yet unspecified incident happened that left her looking around for a new home.

* AmbiguousDisorder: For whatever reason, she's extremely awkward most of the time, but she's a bold fighter and whe sex comes up she's suddenly super-confident and seductive.
* ChainsawGood: Her main weapon is a cube of some strange form-changing metal. Her preferred form for that is a chainsaw, but she can morph it in to other weapons too.

!! The Hundred Demons -- In General and Main

-->HEED MY WORDS YOU MORTAL! DO NOT LEAVE! HELL HAS COME TO THIS WORLD, AND WITHIN ONE YEAR, HUMANITY WILL HAVE TO FACE THE WRATH OF THE HUNDRED DEMONS!\
--Unitia Origin, while faking to be far more malevolent than she really is.

Soul beings are amortal entities from the afterlife, a seperate dimension called the "Soul World." The Soul World is actually a "universe" like ours, except everything in it is made up of a non-tangible (to physical things) "spirit matter" of sorts, with its own planet called the Parallel. The Hundred Demons are a group of, well, one hundred soul beings that moved to Earth in hopes in find a less-crowded place, except most of them want to wipe out human life soley to make room for themselves. Unitia Origin is a part of this group, except she signed on specifically just to betray them and wipe them out so that they could do minimal harm to the planet. Carlson and company versus the Hundred Demons is the main conflict of Ordinarily United.

!! The Hundred Demons

* FullFrontalAssault: It's implied to be the norm for soul beings that most of them run around naked. The Unitias are the rule, rather than the exception; what is the exception is that they vehemently hate clothing and refuse to put any on.
* VillainsActHeroesReact: Justified. The Unitias could potentially go through and rush almost every single member of the Hundred Demons, including most of the Rock Holders, but a few things make them hesitant to do that. One: the Tombs' doors can be shut so tightly that even the Unitias can't open them prior to , so "inactive" Demons can stay in the dark. Two: Rock Holders are able to close the door extra-tightly on their own Tombs, even to the point where heroic forces using a different Rock two pry it open would just result in the force of the Rocks cancelling out and the Demon's own magic hold over their Tomb to win out again. And three, and perhaps most importantly, even if the inactive Demons could not seal themselves away, if all of them except the "traitors" are dead, then the Eighth Circle himself would actually start wiping out the human race. And even the Unitias are unsure if beating him is possible.

!! Tropes exclusive to the Shiny Rock Holders

* ArcVillain: Aside from Ninjssassin and Flower's Chest, each of them only appear in their relevant arc, and tend to cause a number of problems. Swinging Blade was "just" another villain that happened to introduce the concept of the Rocks and Blazing Fast's wishes to make a gang is closer to a B-plot, the third arc is definitely largely about Assily Blast. In other words, the arc in question becomes more linked to the Rock Holder Demon as the story goes on, rather than them just acting as a flashy climax to that part of the story.
* ColorCodedCharacters: While most Demons are predominantly one color or another, the Rock Holders are strongly associated with the color of the Shiny Rock they use, even though in most casses it doesn't fit their actual color scheme.

-->Just one flash. One quick "spark," and you'll be in a better place. You'll be in a better place.

The founder and leader of the Hundred Demons, a BigRedDevil-looking man that can become the size of a continent by "default" but he usually size-shifts in to something smaller.

* AffablyEvil: While the Hundred Demons proper are human-hating, wreckless hammy assholes, the Eighth Circle is not only genuinely nice, but he legitimately thinks that wiping out the human population of the planet isn't that bad and it's implied that he's putting it off despite being stronger than all other Demons combined simply because he doesn't have the heart in him to actually harm anyone. The one human he definitely speaks with, Carlson, also ends up getting on his "spare" list.
* BigBad: As the leader and the most powerful of the Hundred Demons, he's the main antagonist for the entire story. He subverts a lot of things one would expect in the big bad of a remotely action-fantasy story as this one: a lot is revealed about him early on, he's a genuinely nice person, and he's even reluctant to raise a finger against the main heroes. Fan had to specify that he is going to be the final antagonist, "although it sure as hell won't look like it the more the story goes on. Probably even when the heroes finally start fighting him."
* Expy:
** He's primarily inspired by Asgore Dreemurr, with a Devil-like appearance and being built up as some sort of big final threat but ultimately turns out to be way nicer than some of the seemingly-ominous clues were leading up to. Both of them were even part of a couple with another main character.
** His status as the powerful-but-nice leader of a massive army is confirmed to also be partly inspired by Rando, which is alluded to with his occasional stutter. Unlike Rando, however, Eighth Circle is definitely a clear-cut bad guy.
** The Eighth Circle is also confirmed to be inspired by SCP-2317-K: a massive (most of the time) HornedHumanoid that's thought to be completely impossible to beat/contain and it's treated as a matter of when, rather than if, he will be unleashed on and attack the world.
* HealingFactor: The Unit Blades are extremely sharp and implied to do even more damage than a Unitia's already incredible strength; they're the only thing as of Chapter 7 that can cut him, but the cut is extremely tiny and it heals split-seconds after the initial scratch. Unitia Origin doesn't even get to finish making her slash before the microscopic "wound" already starts healing up.
* HornedHumanoid: Of course, given that he has an over-the-top "devil" appearance.
* MeaningfulName: Most of which are admitted to be happy coincidences.
** The only one that's intentional is that he's named after the Nine Circles of Hell, and he's only the Eighth Circle rather than the Ninth Circle because his power is "incomplete."
** Dipping in to unintentional (at first) is that the Eighth Circle of Hell is fraud. Fred/Eighth Circle isn't outright lying about himself, but he's not the big scary Satan-monster that he initially seems like he is. Likewise, the ninth circle is cold and Satan is frozen in the middle of it: the Eighth Circle, the character, resides in an icy pit by the edge of Antartica.
** "Fred," short for "Frederick," means "peaceful ruler," which fits his actual personality and his refusal to fight. This doubles as an IronicName considering how the majority of the Hundred Demons are genocidal BloodKnight[=s=], but Fred himself is genuinely nice and reluctant to harm a soul. His main problem is that he just lets the other Demons do so, avoiding stepping in conflict entirely.
* NoSell: The first-ever villain in the story that is shown to be completely immune to Grayscale. Unitia Origin's (and presumably the other Unitias', since everything suggests they are of roughly equal strength) Unit Blade can scratch him, but barely and he can regenerate from it an instant later.
* TomTheDarkLord: While many of the Demons have part of their names as something "ordinary" like Tony the Bear or Derek Shallowadow-Wood, the Eighth Circle is the only one where his "real" name is something entirely mundane, as the Eighth Circle is just a title he gave himself.
* UsedtoBeASweetKid: Downplayed, as he was never a "kid." But all evidence points to him being a legitimately nice, sweet person back in the past... mostly because his peers were also amortal/immortal. Things become rooted in BlueAndOrangeMorality once he mixes himself in with mortals and the environment comes in to view.
* WalkingSpoiler: Mostly because he completely subverts the expectations one would have for a giant Satan-like monster. Even with the knowledge that he is Unitia Origin's last ex, which is revealed casually fairly early on, one might get the impression that at least he was a horrible and abusive ex-boyfriend. (Especially since Carlson's last ex, Yuullieke, apparently was.) Instead all signs point to him having been a genuinely nice guy to her, to the point where he tries casually talking things out with her at the end of Chapter 6 even though they both know that he is physically stronger than her.

The leader of a Demon gang calling themselves the "Single Digits," as they consist of all the single digit-numbered members of the Hundred. Except Eighth Circle, the overarching leader that does not need to be in a gang at all, and Unitia Origin, the "traitor." Ninjssassin is a part-ninja, part-assassin that has an odd, hateful fixation on Carlson (while most of the other Demons just mainly care about taking out Unitia One, at most seeing Carlson as an "emotional weakness" for the Unitias) and tries to fight him while he's alone.

* CoDragons: Along with Last. Unlike the other Rock Holders, who are ArcVillain[=s=] at most (and even that title being given to Swinging Blade is very debatable), Ninjssassin shows up in most of the story, is very active, and can even fight directly mirror to Carlson himself. While not holding the Eighth Circle that respectfully, she still follows after his original order to terminate Earth's sapient population and guns directly after Carlson to get that accomplished.
* CuteMonsterGirl: She's one of the very few Demons that could pass for a completely normal human being at a glance. She just needs to fold up her long neck-limb so that it looks like a scarf and hide the oily, eye-generating aspects of her hair.
* EvilCounterpart: She's the closest of the Hundred Demons to Stella. Both of them have a similar build and similar lax rules on swearing, and both of them a bit "showier" than the rest of the members of their respective groups.
* Expy:
** The most obvious one is, in regards to the Seven Evil Exes, she's clearly the Roxie of the group. A very hot-tempered, slightly short and chubby "half-ninja" that tries to be a constant thorn on the side of the main lead. As is the case when Fan usually takes a "minor" or "one-off" villainous character, she has a much bigger role than her inspiration.
** She's Ordinarily United[='=]s official "MirrorBoss," inspired by the Creator/PlatinumGames trend of having them. Namely, Prince Vorkken, Jeanne, and the Masked Lumen/. Fan even jokingly says to have "Red and Black" as her battle theme.
** Of who's technically Great Pikmin Fan's own characters, she's somewhat similar to Professor Dove. Both of them are threatening and violent enemies compared to their co-workers associated with the color black that love swearing and, implied by Ninjssassin's Tomb being loaded with various sniper weapons and ninja-tools, have an affinity for a variety of weapons. Noteably, Soos was one of the only humans Dove was initially something resembling nice to, while Carlson -- the closest character OU has to a Soos expy if one does not count Stella being based on his sort-of DistaffCounterpart -- is Ninjssassin's main target.
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: She can have eyes generate from her hair.
* FatalFlaw: Pride without a doubt. While she is considerably more threatening than a good number of the other Hundred Demons, she could easily be even more effective if she was not arrogant in one way or another.
** If she wasn't so stuck up about the whole "Single Digits" thing, she could have easily united the Rock Holders. the eight of them together could have utterly obliterated Carlson and possibly even the Unitias. Instead, like most Rock Holders, they tend to stay as far away from each-other as possible and think that they can defeat Carlson on their own.
** She lets her own weight-consciousness get the better of her by leaving one of her own minions, Tony the Bear, to die at Stella's hands. And not even bothering to use Res -- who is implied to be able to bring soul beings BackFromTheDead -- to revive him. In her "defense," it's not like Tony the Bear was that valuable of an asset anyway.
* FoeRomanceSubtext: With Carlson, and it's pretty heavy. Not only does he have at least one really detailed and graphic wet dream about her, but his own subconscious -- appearing as the Dream Ninjssassin -- explicitely tells him that taking Ninjssassin's form makes him more aroused and he "finishes" a lot faster and more often. Shortly after that, Carlson has his second battle with the real Ninjssassin, which has far more sexual undertones than their first fight back in Hill Town Outskirts. As of Chapter 11, this subtext is entirely one-sided, as Ninjssassin just wants Carlson to die.
* MirrorBoss: To Carlson specifically. Great Pikmin Fan said that this will be a trend in his stories; his first example was Mudvin from Steve Buhvillen's Intriguing Group, but he serves as that to the entire Intriguing Group rather than just Steve.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: She technically has three arms. It's just that one of them looks like a scarf at first.
* ParanoiaFuel: Invoked. She specifically targets Carlson when he's not around the Unitias. The fact that she does not do this to the other Knights even though they're around the Unitias much less often suggests that she does not hold them to as high of a priority as she does with Carlson.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere When her first fight with Carlson ends with both of them landing a bit too close to the fighting area Blazing Fast scheduled, Ninjssassin teleports away and temporarily gives up fighting Carlson.
* SecretTestOfCharacter: Does this to the Eighth Circle in Chapter 11, by making a fake human and using him to goad the Eighth Circle in to trying to kill someone. It eventually works, but it turns out that the Eighth Circle even has trouble killing a hypothetical murderer who even killed a puppy according to Ninjssassin's story.
* SirSwearsALot: Not nearly as bad as Stella, but she swears up a storm. Especially when she's pissed off at Carlson.
* WakeUpCallBoss: She's the first Rock Holder that Carlson actually fights, after an... underwhelming "sample" with Swinging Blade. Not only does she put up a good mirror battle against him, she's the first full-enemy that fights Carlson and lives.

The first of the Shiny Rock Holders introduced, seen, and "fought." An anthro fox man who, as his title implies, has a sword that he loves swinging around, and he's damn proud of it.

* ButtMonkey: While Eldbrash and the random civilian Swinging Blade was about to attack take him seriously, the main couple does not. He's made out to be a huge joke even before Carlson meets him in-person for the first time,
* FreeSamplePlotCoupon: Inverted. His Shiny Rock, the first one, is the only one that the Unitias do not get after beating its respective holder. This is as the Eighth Circle has some sort of "dead man's switch" placed on each Rock that teleports them back to the Pit, except by the time the gang fights Blazing Fast, Unitia Two already figured out a way to disable the switch. They do the same with Assily Blast after his arc. The Knights have the Blue and Cyan Rocks in their possession, while the Purple Rock is still back with the Eighth Circle. There is actually a plot-related reason for this, as the Knights will need two Rocks in order to go to the Jungle Gang (their top priority once they can counteract with a Demon's control over their Tomb's doors), effectively softly-railroading the gang so that they have to beat at least one other Rock Holder first.
* HealingFactor: Averted. When Carlson ends up knocking a tooth out of him, he complains that he cannot heal himself like the Unitias can, making him one of the Demons openly confirmed to not have any kind of super healing power. The fact that the Purple Shiny Rock is explicitly described as being able to help him grow another tooth is one of the main indicators that the Rocks are something of note, since the story goes out of its way to say that he can't heal by himself and then shows the Rock healing him. When Carlson fights Ninjssassin, Blazing Fast, and Assily Blast, it turns out that healing a tooth is just the tiny top-atom of the iceberg when it comes to the powers of a Shiny Rock.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: He's one of the few members of the Hundred Demons that can be described as a "furry" character. Other contenders are Cryipasto (who is more SuperDeformed) and Large Avian (who is more animal-like -- in this case bird -- than Swinging Blade).
* SmallNameBigEgo: For starters, he thinks he can take on the Unitias -- who have borderline godly levels of power -- with nothing but some above-average sword skills. Then he thinks that being good with a sword makes him more worthy of being part of the Hundred Demons than Unitia Origin, who was "only" let on because of "nepetaism."
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Compared to the other Holders as of Chapter 8Blazing Fast, Assily Blast, Flower's Chest, and Ninjssassin, Swinging Blade's screentime is absolutely minute. He just "shows up" in hologram form, and he's the only Holder whose first in-person appearance is also his last before his death -- essentially, compared to the Evil Exes, he has just as much screentime as his own inspiration (Matthew Patel) rather than moreBlazing Fast actually shows up multiple times before his final battle and the fight itself is considerably longer than the fight with Lucas Lee. Ninjssassin shows up over the entire story rather than just her volume/arc, unlike Roxanne Richter. For Assily Blast, the "Todd" of the group, it's too early to tell exactly where the story's going with him, but technically on a case-by-case basis he fought Unitia Origin the same number if not more times than Scott battled Todd, and he's still active. However, he introduces the Shiny Rocks, a major turning point in the story where it's heavily hinted that Carlson does not have to wait until he fights the BigBad before he gets the even match he always wanted.
* StarterVillain: As the Holder of the Purple Rock, he's technically the first ArcVillain and technically one of the "main" Demons along with Blazing Fast and Assily Blast. It's just that compared to them, his role in the story is utterly pathetic, and he's the only Rock Holder "battled" who fails to really give the damn things justice, since Ninjssassin puts up a good fight against Carlson, as does Blazing Fast, and Assily Blast
* YouKeepUsingThatWord: Not only does he keep saying "nepotism" as "nepetaism" even after being corrected, but even if he said it right he's not using it correctlynepotism is favoritism towards friends or relatives in the work place, while the Eighth Circle and Unitia One/Origin's relationship is... shakey to say the least. Swinging Blade also words it incorrectly, saying "You [nepotism] ass!" which doesn't make sense..

The Holder of the Blue Shiny Rock, Blazing Fast is the major Demon of the second arc and first one who actually knows what he's fucking doing. As the most human-looking of the entire Hundred, he just appears as a nude man with red hair. By default, he can run fast and pick of flames as he runs, then manipulate those flames on top of that. However, his Shiny Rock gives him the ability to just freely make flames out of nothing.

The Holder of the Cyan Shiny Rock. He appears as an obese humanoid made of a cerulean-colored metal that is also part-toilet. He has the ability to make poisonous clouds from his ass, which may or may not just be farting poison at his enemies.

* BishonenLine: Parodied. In line with Swinging Blade using his Rock to turn in to a giant, feral-looking beast and Blazing Fast getting long, blue hair, Assily Blast too transforms... in to what he thinks is more attractive. The result is instead something more grotesque-looking.
* BizarreAlienBiology: As of his introduction, he has one of the most alien bodies of the Hundred Demons. On the surface, he "just" looks to be a human/toilet hybrid made out of metal (that even gives off "sparks" when cut). But he has a giant vertical mouth going up his stomach, his base can grow four giraffe legs to walk around, and his idea of "sexiness" is to make himself look even fatter and have a giant snake-thing with eyes all over its body bursting out of each nipple.
* FatBastard: Has the appearance of a naked, obese man and his personality is extremely unpleasant.
* WakeUpCallBoss: Ninjssassin was the first demonstration of the Shiny Rocks Carlson got, and acted as a MirrorBoss. Blazing Fast was the first Demon that gave Carlson a flashy, if less-"even," huge-scale fight that involved soaring up to the sky and then heading down to the depths of the planet. Assily Blast topped both of them by .
* WorfBarrage: spoiler:Unlike the Eighth Circle, he's not immune to Grayscale Boomerang. But he does shatter the thing outright with a single punch, showing that Carlson can't just stop all non-Eighth Circle enemies by tossing the thing and expecting it to take over from there.

Not a Shiny Rock Holder, but one of Eighth Circle's intended "trump cards" along with Unitia Origin. A mysterious soul being specifically picked so that the final member of the Hundred Demons could be an exceptionally powerful one.

* CoDragons: Along with Ninjssassin, although contrasted in that Ninjssassin is the major story-spanning recurring threat that's loud, hammy, and very fleshed out early on, while Last is a distant, cold, mysterious villain saved until near the end. Last is also deeply devoted to following the Eighth Circle down to the letter, while Ninjssassin is one of if not the first of the Demons (not counting Unitia Origin) who flat-out disobeyed a promise/order from him. Specifically, Eighth Circle said he won't kill Carlson, and implicitely gave the order to the others to keep him alive as well. Ninjssassin almost immediately follows that up by trying to kill him.
* TheGhost: Absent as of the third arc and it's heavily implied that Ordinarily United has a long way to go before we so much as see her.
* LightIsNotGood: She's the only one of the Demons that's described as being angel-like in some degree in terms of appearance, and she's apparently associated with light. Yet with the actual BigBad being a huge softie, everything is suggested that Last is probably one of the most threatening and scary of them all, even without a Shiny Rock.

!! "9." "Unitia Origin"

Post-CharacterDevelopment from the first Saga, Unitia One considers her past self to be almost a "seperate person" that shows up as a multi-armed version of herself that haunts her darkest nightmares. Tropes about the real Unitia One (who called herself Unitia Origin back in the past and for the first nine and a half chapters) belong in the Main Characters section, even for her actions in the past; this specifically details the illusionary Unitia Origin seen mainly in Chapters 9 and 10.

* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: How she's eventually finished off, but in a trap-illusion induced by Wunhart. Wunhart simply "kick-started" the whole "inner nightmare" thing, and the minds of Carlson and Unitia One ended up filling the blanks.
* BloodlessCarnage: Unlike Unitia One, who spurts out jade blood when impaled with the Blade, Unitia Origin's horizontal cut is bloodless. She just implodes in light shortly after. Justified in that the whole fight does not physically happen and it more symbolic; Unitia One might have just imagined herself bleeding out of fear/worry of being "beaten," but felt no need to when she was the victor.
* Expy: As with many of the major villains being expies of the Evil Exes to some degree, "Unitia Origin" is one to Nega-Scott. She's an EvilCounterpart to the main lead who represents all their past mistakes, and is ultimately defeated with something of an assimilation (although Unitia One does beat Unitia Origin through violence, when Origin turns in to a mote of light, One simply lets it sink in to her head). She's far more talkative than Nega-Scott, however.
* FanDisservice: Ever wanted to have a Unitia actually put clothes on? Well, here you go: it's a "dress" made out of her own arms, does not even cover her breasts, and while seen "wearing" it she's a massive psycho stalker.
* FullFrontalAssault: Inverted. "Unitia Origin" marks the closest that any Unitia is seen wearing clothes -- specifically, a "dress" made out of several arms she spawned, leaving her beasts and to some extent (sepending on how the back "flips" up) butt still visible. Especially since said "clothes" are made out of arms, it makes her come off as even more unsettling than she would be if completely naked. This was completely intentional, as Great Pikmin Fan wanted to invert the trope of using nudity to emphasize a lack of humanity.
* HandOrObjectUnderwear: To show the contrast between her and the present-day, actual Unitia One, "Unitia Origin" grows several extra arms and has them all wrap and clasp around her like some sort of pantyless, breastless dress with an extremely short skirt. It's implied that Unitia One slowly covered herself with less and less arms as time went on and she became less of a yandere, and the "single finger crotch-cover" is the very last part of her "conversion process." It's why Unitia One drops even that shortly after beating the illusion of her past.
* MindScrew: Just understanding this "character" means grasping the whole nightmare/illusion thing, and Unitia One projecting her past self as a seperate person in her mind.
* MirrorBoss: To Unitia One, being her past self. In their final battle in the "underground arm arena" in Wunhart's illusion, Unitia Origin ends up using many of Unitia One's powers against her, and even stabs her with what is technically the Unit Blade belonging to both of them. (Unitia One never actually "draws her own Blade" in the fight, she simply takes Origin's and uses it against her.)
* MyHeroZero: Carlson points out in the first chapter that "Unitia Origin" sounds closer to "Zero" than a "One." It turns out he's on to something; once Chapter 9 starts treating "Unitia Origin" and "Unitia One" as two opposite sides of the same character rather than just two names, it's not surprising that the more villainous one is the closest the story has to a "Unitia Zero," unless one counts the Generator.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: She technically only shows up in two chapters -- in Chapter 9 as part of Unitia One's nightmare, and in Chapter 10 as an image Wunhart deliberately engineered to try to torment One and Carlson from leaving the LotusEaterMachine. Despite this, she's Unitia One's own personal WakeUpCallBoss even beyond Assily Blast's surprise power, and Unitia One's defeat of Unitia Origin represents a major stepping stone in her CharacterDevelopment.
* SplitPersonality: Averted. Story-wise, Unitia Origin and Unitia One are one and the same. But Symbolically, this "nightmare" image represents Unitia One's guilt about her past rather than an entirely different entity living around with her. One simply personifies this guilt as another her, using the "multi-armed" look that she had in the past.
* WalkingSpoiler: She's a mental representation of Unitia One's past flaws. Namely, the fact that One even has past flaws to begin with, while having a lot of foreshadowing, is something kept quiet for the first chunk of the story.
* TheWorfEffect: She's the first "character" to give Unitia One -- the real one -- an injury that leaves a visible mark. In this case, impaling One with Origin's Unit Blade. And she beats the shit out of One as well. While the whole thing was in Unitia One's head more-or-less, it's an indicator that the Unitias will not have an easy time with future villains, and how the Eighth Circle likely will not be screwing around.
* Yandere: How Unitia One sees Unitia Origin. In contrast to Unitia One being genuinely concerned for Carlson's well-being, Unitia Origin is possessive to him and the twenty-five prior soul beings (with her relationship with the Eighth Circle being a mystery), and tries to convince Unitia One to take him soley for herself. Unitia One ends up beating Unitia Origin by accepting that she used to think this way, but has moved on to be a different person.

!! 9. Lucy "Yuullieke" Yamamura

The only human to work on the Hundred Demons, Yuullieke was formerly Carlson's girlfriend in their teeage years, and heavily mistreated him after his parents were presumed dead. Eventually, the Eighth Circle de-listed Unitia One from the Hundred Demons, and filled her slot via a loophole Ninjssassin and Last proposed, letting him hire a human on the Hundred Demons.

* AllAbusersAreMale: Averted. She's a horrible girlfriend to Carlson, assuming that his nightmares of her are accurate (and they are), and she's treated dead-seriously. When she's finally seen in real life, the only thing different about her from Carlson's nightmares is that Nightmare Yuullieke is upfront and blunt about how terrible she is, while the real Yuullieke pretends to be sweet.
* AnimalMotifs: Spiders. Carlson's nightmares twist her in to a spider-like form, and when she's finally seen in the real world, she gives him a vision where she has several spider eyes.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: In Chapter 10, Wunhart manipulates the illusion Carlson and Unitia One/Origin were in so that they had to fight their own inner past demons. "Unitia One" ended up fighting "Unitia Origin," while Carlson ended up fighting Yuullieke. That time, however, he was able to stand up to the image of her and destroy the illusion, implying that if nothing else this also helped him get rid of his recurring nightmare. Downplayed in that Yuullieke was not actually there; it was just some signals Wunhart sent in to Carlson, a "template" that was filled in by his own subconcious.
* HateSink: It's hard to hate the Hundred Demons in general as, despite them being genocidal warriors, they're so over-the-top and cartoonishly hammy that it's really hard to feel actual hatred. It's hard to hate their leader, the Eighth Circle, as he's reluctant to actually kill anyone and is one of the nicest characters in an already somewhat optimistic and lighthearted story. However, Yuullieke is an abusive asshole and one of the few characters played for horror, who scarred the latter part of Carlson's teenage years.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: She has red eyes, and she's one of the few people in the story who can bring fear in to even Carlson.
* TokenHuman: Among the Hundred Demons. The Eighth Circle suggested inviting every human who wanted to on the Demons, but Ninjssassin pointed out that people would simply abuse that to get the entire population of Earth on there, so that the Eighth Circle would not kill his "fellow Demons."

!! The Hundred Demons -- Minor Demons

Another member of the Single Digits, a soul being that appears as a giant mass of tentacles and eyes. With Ninjssassin, she starts an attack on Watch City, just to be combatted by Eighthback's group. And, later, Carlson when trying to fight Ninjssassin.

A member of the Single Digits Gang. A soul being that can look like either a tiny, walking teddy bear or a giant, buff humanoid man... with a tiny teddy bear head. He is extremely arrogant.

* Jerkass: Even by the standards of the Hundred Demons, this guy is just a plain asshole. Even Ninjssassin hates him and fires him (although that was in part because he kept mocking Ninjssassin's weight), and considering how much of a hot-tempered jerk Ninjssassin is later shown to be, that says a lot.

[[folder:19. Ms Mist Maid [sic] ]]

A super-fast mist-controller, and part of the Jungle Gang.

* BizarreAlienBiology: He's a giant shark thing with a mouth that functions like some sort of weird, fantasy carnivorous plant.

A bizarre money-themed soul being that attacks a Watch City casino.

A soul being that can be described as a large eye-tentacle thing. She can make "illusion gel" that she and others can use to induce illusions on other people. She is part of the Jungle Gang -- despite making her debut in Chapter 5 as the Jungle Gang's sole representative of the early arcs, the gang itself does not come in to that much importance until the fourth arc, where they act as the first arc-spanning gang. (As Blazing Fast failed to really establish a "gang" in the first place.)

* JokerImmunity: Subverted. Her unique illusion-casting powers and her tendancy to appear and disappear with other Demons to give them a boost with that power (Cryipasto and Assily Blast/Wunhart) suggests that she's going to keep escaping from Carlson and the Unitias and become a regular thorn on their side.

A purple, only "partly" solid humanoid soul being with a fixation on Carlson. He likes to paint himself as a charming, mysterious romantic. He is part of the Charmers gang.

* BaitAndSwitch: Near the very end of Chapter 10, he appears ominously atop the "lobby" of Carlson's house with the portal leading to the Unitia PocketDimension, gloating about wanting Carlson for himself. Then Unitia Two turns out to be there, and beats him with a single finger-flick like it's nothing.
* ButtMonkey: Not even the other Demons take him that seriously, and he's suddenly killed at the tail end of Chapter 10 in a massive anti-climax.
* Expy: Of "Not-Bill" from Journals of Wisdom, Power, and Courage. He's a parody of giving villains the DracoInLeatherPants treatment and pairing them up with the lead character, writing them as some sort of flowery, charming romantic. But like Not-Bill, he's actually pathetic and nowhere near as important to the story as he thinks he is. Even his own allies hate him and he's beaten rather anti-climactically.

A soul being that initially looks like a brick with a face. However, she also has other parts to her that... just form a wall of bricks.

Stella's first target of the Hundred Demons. Despite her name, she has nothing to do with cows: she's a "snake" of sorts of target-looking things that can spew a number of slow-moving bullets.

* PunnyName: Bullseye. Bull and eye -> Cow and iris.

A giant mass of eyes that wants to be a part of the Dungeon Gang. Unfortunately for him, they were taken out a few days ago by Carlson, Unitia One, and Unitia Two.

A soul being that resembles a mecha about twice the size of an average human. Despite that, he's fully... "organic." He's the second-in-command in the Jungle Gang.

* TheDragon: Claims he's one to Flower's Chest, however Chapter 11 does not show him doing any real work as her aide.

A large bat that is a part of the "Dungeon Gang," a gang quickly disposed of by Carlson and the Unitias back when there was only two of the latter.

Another close-to-looking-human soul being that looks a lot like Blazing Fast, just colored differently. His abilities include control over soap and super-slowness, the opposite of Blazing Fast. He's part of the Jungle Gang.

* ButtMonkey: It's not very surprising that this man is killed off shortly after his introduction.
* Foil: This guy's entire point is that he's everything Blazing Fast isn't. His hair color is on the exact opposite end of the RGB spectrum as Blazing Fast's is (cyan instead of red), and his element "matches" that "opposite" accordingly (it's "soap," which is given the color cyan in Fan's works). His power relates to super-slowness rather than Blazing Fast's super-speed. Suddsy Slow, while acknowledging that Blazing Fast is a tough act to follow, still thinks that he can defeat everyone -- including the Unitias -- while Blazing Fast already thought that the Unitias are completely unbeatable. Blazing Fast was one of the few sane Demons while Suddsy Slow is a hammy idiot. This even extends to their screentime: Blazing Fast was an ArcVillain, and the first Arc Villain who appears in the beginning of his arc (Swinging Blade only had two appearances, and one of them was through a hologram), while Suddsy Slow is just fodder of the Jungle Gang that gets killed off in the same chapter as his appearance.
* PaletteSwap: Basically looks like a recolor of Blazing Fast with a tail.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: One of the first real examples of this after a bit of a "gap" in the third arc (where even the villains that do die at least put up more of a fight, as they go against the side-Knights). Suddsy Slow isn't even fighting against Carlson nor a Unitia and yet he's killed with about as much "effort" as some of the soul beings who did fight them by them.

The first Demon seen being battled in the story proper. A bizarre, giant, floating worm-like thing who can make knives out of magic, control wind, and can become intangible. He's one of the stronger Demons, painting a rather inaccurate picture of what the other non-Holders are like.

A Demon who first seems like a strong humanoid who floats, but it turns out that he's "super weak." However, he also has the power to transfer that "super-weakness."

* Expy: His concept of being super-weak by himself yet being able to transfer powers is based on two of the "_ank _ills" from Great Pikmin Fan's Escape From Fanservice Island. Basically, Wank G. Will's "power transfer" combined with Wank M. Will's "super-weakness," just conveniently combined in the same character. This would be something worth shitting bricks over, the power to make any other super powerless and take their own abilities for themselves, except the Unitias are apparently completely immune to the power-steal.

Also has impressive pyrokinesis, but unfortunately for her, it's not as impressive as the skillset of the Unitias.

* PlayingWithFire: She has the power to shoot fire at enemies. Carlson, naturally, NoSell[=s=] this.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: She's yet another fodder Demon in the end, but the mission to stop her leads in to Carslon deciding to see the Eighth Circle in person for the first time. 668

A magazine writer who really, really hates censorship and double standards. She also has a strange ability where she can "store" strikes she makes on enemies and then unleash them all at once, similar to the Stasis rune from VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild. Only without the time-stopping.

* BrickJoke: Mayor Tchup casually mentions at the end of Chapter 7 that she once sent a fake severed arm in front of the city hall as a threat and "satement" about censorship. Near the end of Chapter 10, spoiler:that action gets her arrested -- Tchup was simply trying to pull together as much as possible to ensure that she would win the court case, which is why the authorities seemingly just rolled with her threatening a governmental authority figure.
* HairTriggerTemper: Dear lord, she's even worse than some of the more aggressive Demons. She's just about always in a bad mood, and will look for any reason to rant at anyone.
* HypocriticalHumor:
** For the way she constantly shouts about how it should be okay to loosen up standards about depicting naked women, you'd think she'd get along swimmingly with the Unitias, who always walk/float around naked. Instead, she shouts at Unitia Origin for her finger-cover schtick, not listening to her reasoning behind it (it's basically a form of fake "clothes," with the single finger acting as an "outfit," and not outright "censorship" like Hoodieath says), and leaving while screaming at Origin to fuck off.
** On top of that, Hoodieath actually wears more than not only the Unitias, but a good number of other characters in the story.
* Jerkass: Hoodieath is not a person you would want to have a conversation with unless you absolutely have to. Unfortunately, she's potentially one of the most powerful heroes in the story, with only the Unitias and possibly Carlson ahead of her.
* StoryBreakerPower: Unlike the main Knights, who have intentionally weak/goofy powers hindered in some way, Hoodieath's main ability is that she can more-or-less magnify her own strength so long as she keeps successively hitting a target. It's enough to deal massive damage, and she even beats Unitia Origin to being the first character to give a major injury to a Shiny Rock Holder. Unfortunately, unlike the selfless, reasonable, rational Knights, she's a loose cannon who ends up allying with a man who already does not trust the Unitias.

A man with the power to regenerate cells at a rapid pace. He had a strange genetic bone condition that would have killed him had he not gone through extra work and made an odd-beating serum that gave him the aformentioned abilities.

* AndIMustScream: His ultimate fate, albeit downplayed as he will die eventually. He's hit with an "emergency counter" for his cell-growth powers (heavily implied to be in the event that he regenerates from a certain attack in such a way that makes two of him, as he cannot stand having another version of himself walking around) that paralyzes him in a very painful manner (by seizing up his muscles, or whatever clumps of odd regenerative cells passes as them). The closing notes to Chapter 11 implies that he's still alive through this; Stella and co would have verified, but then they were interrupted by the ground shaking as a result of the Assily Blast battle.
* ChubbyChaser: Implied with how two of his "main targets" are Stella and Ninjssassin, both of whom either are pudgy or appear pudgy (as Ninjssassin is not human, and part of a strange species, so what her exact weight is "supposed to be" is very unclear). However, his main assistant, Henfight, is quite thin... yet he has her wear a thick full-body chicken suit.
* HateSink: Even ignoring his creepy behavior or just passing it off as social awkward-ness, it still becomes increasingly evident that this guy is a real asshole. He
* OtherMeAnnoysMe: Played for drama/horror. His regeneration powers work in such a way that if a severed/split part of him grows a whole body, that new body could become its own Inventor, complete with getting a soul (as per Word of God). The Inventor hates it when this happens, since despite his inflated ego he cannot stand the way he'll treat himself. It's suggested that the whole reason why he even made an "emergency antedote" to his powers in the first place was so that he would have a fast, reliable way to kill off his own copies. This ends up biting him in the ass when Henfight and Stella use this serum to kill him.
* TakeThat: He's basically a commentary on the "'loveable' pervert hero" character archetype that Carlson was specifcally written to defy. Even before he shows his true colors at the end of Chapter 8, his general odd behavior in the Hardened Meteor fight was supposed to make him seem annoying. Chapter 10's closing notes specifically cites Meliodas as "inspiration" for his character.
* Yandere: He initially seems like a noble, proud hero that has a soft spot for Stella and tries to slightly "reason" with some of his enemies, or at least go on about how mass-murdering is wrong. TheStinger of his very introduction chapter suddenly shows him creepily groping and slobbering over mannequins, and his dialogue implies that he wants to do the same thing to Stella. He's meant to be an out-and-out super-creepo, controlling

The closest character Ordinarily United has to a "classical" hero, this is a man with all the basic superhero powers: flight, strength, and as his name indicates eyebeams. He's also muscular and clad in a tight body-suit. His main schtick is that he DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength, which is why he's generally considered a "last resort" when it comes to defending the place.

* ButtMonkey: Society doesn't exactly like him too much, no matter how much he tries, thanks to his accidentally destructive nature.

The Prime Minister as of 2060. He is a gigantic, buff man who brings fear and intimidation in to just about anyone around him (except Carlson, who is indifferent towards him, and the Unitias, who are implied to scare even him).

* MinorMajorCharacter: He's small stuff compared to the Knights and even he mayors of the main cities (who themselves are Minor Major Characters to a lesser extent in both "minor" and "major"), but he's the highest-ranking man seen in the story.

A man running for mayor of Cooper Domain, against Beeree's re-election campaign.

* BoomerangBigot: He's all-but a misandrist despite being a man himself, and he implies that he thinks there's too many white people in power... when he himself is whiter than his main opponent (who is Asian) and running for a position of power. It's implied he doesn't actually believe in any of this and is just saying what he thinks will give him more money and ratings.
* HateSink: While not a crusader of human genocide like the Hundred Demons are, this guy is still so much of an asshole and more of an asshole in a comparatively (it's still in Ordinarily United[='=]s over-the-top flavor) relatable way that it's pretty hard to like him. In addition to him needlessly antagonizing Unitia One to the point of throwing GodwinsLaw all over her and trivializing male victims of abuse (complete with bullshit statistics, like lumping up murder with "being told something they don't like" to make it seem like an absurd amount of women are murdered daily -- also, using murders just to try to win an argument), at one point he spouts a very racist remark regarding Mayors Tchup and Beeree, to the latter's face. And it's not even FantasticRacism, either; he explicitely tells them to go back to their own continents, but then tries to backpedal that by saying that he means to go back to their cultures. It's also heavily implied that he doesn't really even believe in what he's saying and he instead just goes by what he thinks will earn him more money, so one can't even really call him a WellIntentionedExtremist.

!! Other Characters

Carlson's ex-girlfriend, an abusive, manipulative "hipster-looking" woman two years older than him who haunts him in his very dreams. While still alive in 2060, her wherabouts are unknown, as she went AWOL shortly after Carlson left her apartment for good. (In fact, her still being alive is only slightly implied by Carlson's choice of words and directly confirmed by WordOfGod.)

Chapter 11 confirmed that she had joined forces with the Hundred Demons at some point in the story's timeline, in between the fall of Home-Run (the very first Demon killed chronologically) and the start of the Fuck the Jungle Arc. For tropes on her, see the second "Spoiler Character" under the Hundred Demons, main members.

The eponymous deity of the religion on both Earth and the Parallel alike, "Greatism." Blazing Fast, a Greatist before the story began, suspects that Carlson, Unitia Origin, and Eighth Circle's new sudden "blessing of talent" is in some way connected to the Great One considering a number of signs.

* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Has blue-ish skin, according to Blazing Fast's mural.
* CrystalDragonJesus: It's a religion without a clear-cut major real-world counterpart, just some Zelda lore altered around a bit and mixed with a possible AuthorAvatar. For starters, there's one TopGod above the rest and six smaller gods
* GodIsEvil: Greatist legend is that while the Less Ones are genuine benevolent gods, the Great One at least is a gigantic dick.
* TopGod: Above the six Less Ones. The Less Ones themselves are very powerful, but the Great One is suggested to be above them all.
* ThirdEye: Blazing Fast's mural gives him three eyes: one silver, one sea green, and one maroon. These colors also correspond to Carlson, Unitia Origin, and the Eighth Circle respectively. It's implied that this is an indicator that he's the one who gave the trio their powers in the first place.
* WalkingSpoiler: If he even exists, then he's likely the reason for Carlson, the Unitias', and the Eighth Circle's sheer sudden burst of power. There's also the fact that the reveal that Ordinarily United might even have a concrete god to its weird-ness may shed some light on the less-usual aspects of the web novel.

Six additional deities worshipped by "Greatists." Seven coliseums were built, one on each of Earth's continents, and six of them have a different colossal statue in a Less One's image. The seventh one is implied to be directed to the Great One.

* Expy: They're based on the Golden Goddesses, but times two, to tie in to Ordinarily United having its inspirations in the Zelda series. They even have a symbol based on triangles that, in a way, represents them.
* GiantWoman: Their statues are enormous, and WordOfGod implies in Chapter 10's notes that should they exist, the "real deals" are even bigger.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Their statues depict them as being topless.

Carlson's parents were initially thought to have been dead since shortly after Carlson's strange "blessing," but his father turns out alive at the end of Chapter 10, and his mother is likewise just fine too, seen in Chapter 11.

The main heroine of The High-Splash Adventures of Wavette an (alledged) kid's show that ran decades before the start of Ordinarily United proper, and even long before the "present day" that the story was written.

* CatchPhrase: "Important Life Lessons from Wavette!"
* Expy:
** Wavette looks like what would happen if one redesigned Rip Van Winkle to be a "child-friendly" heroine
** Wavette as a whole was originally going to be a ShowWithinAShow in Total Zeksmit back when GPF planned for it to be a huge, expansive world with
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Cryipasto gives her red eyes when he's trying to make an illusionary "scary episode" to startle Carlson and the Unitias. To say that this backfires would be an understatement: instead, it helps Carlson figure out that he's not watching the real episode that was on at the moment, and rather than being scared because he's in a horror-illusion, Carlson is pissed because he's missing the actual episode. What Cryipasto was likely unaware of was that Carlson and the Unitias know how to easily break out of illusions,
* SpoofAesop: None of her "Important Life Lessons" should ever be taken as real morals. Ever.

Wavette's sole permanent male companion, and her foil in her various adventures. Frank is considerably more down-to-earth, if a little boob-shy, and at some point in High-Splash[='=]s history he develops in to the OnlySaneMan.

* DependingOnTheWriter: In-universe, as the clips are not in any particular order and lack context, he appears to flip around from being a shy and meek man similar to a good number of harem protagonists in to being an OnlySaneMan sick of all the stupid shit going on around him.
* TheOneGuy: The only man on Wavette's crew that sticks around, since the show regularly has side-men join up and get PutOnABus at best or killed off at worst.
* WhoWritesThisCrap: If there's anyone who outright criticizes how ridiculous the "fanservice" of Wavette is, it's this guy. Not that Wavette isn't always above pointing out how stupid the story is.

Wavette's main female friend. She has electric powers.

* ColorContrast: GPF's signature blue-yellow contrast. With the lead protagonist being associated with the color blue, of course she has a close friend with yellow.
* SacrificialLion: Was this in Cryipasto's "creepypasta fan fiction illusion," where his illusion form of Wavette killed her off screen. It was supposed to be a huge scare, but Carlson's quickly figuring out what was going on "ruined" everything and just pissed Cryipasto off.
