!!My Hero Academia
[[folder:In General]]
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: In this version of ''My Hero Academia'' (both Earth-626 and Earth-68421), nearly all of the characters suffer from trauma that arises out of domestic issues (bullying, discrimination, tragedy, etc.) that influence their personalities up to the current story. One of the {{Central Theme}}s of the story is the characters learning to move past that and think more heavily about what kind of person they want to be in the future and improve the flaws of Hero Society.
* AdaptationalSeriousness: Whatever [[PlayedForLaughs comedic]] quirky personality traits that the characters displayed in the original canon manga have a fair bit of [[PlayedForDrama drama]] when the story reveals the individual's past.
* AlternateSelf: In general, Earth-626 (''MHA Watches Death Battle'') and Earth-68421 (''Welcome to the MCU'') are just two of the '''infinite''' versions of the canon ''My Hero Academia'' setting.
* CharacterExaggeration: Justified. Some parts of the characters' personalities are greatly been given more focus such as Izuku's analytical skills and angst over past trauma, Katuski's former bullying and need for atonement, etc. It makes sense given that they're DarkerAndEdgier alternative counterparts to their canonical selves.
* MythologyGag: The reality of the ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' cast's earth is designated as "Earth-626" by the viewing device. Quite similar to Mainstream Marvel Comics.

!!Izuku Midoriya

The HeroProtagonist of the Canon series and 9th User of One for All.
----
* AbandonTheDisabled: When he was diagnosed as Quirkless, his father divorced Inko not soon after.
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Izuku's DarkAndTroubledPast gets more [[AdaptationExpansion expanded]] in the fic, and is much darker in nature and PlayedForDrama. His DisappearedDad divorced his mother right after being diagnosed as Quirkless, was severely bullied, humilated, and discriminated against in both elementary and middle school to the point of torture; including but not limited to, assault and battery by Bakugou and many other students playing "follow the leader" on a ''near-daily'' basis that would end with him laying on the ground beaten, bloodied, and vomiting (along with Bakugou illegally using his Quirk to permanently scarred his body) in addition to verbal insults, [[spoiler:gets manipulated into thinking that a girl in Aldera had feelings for him only to be in for a nasty prank]], and apathetic faculty members who either turn a blind eye and deaf ear to his suffering or actively/impassively encouraging it. He's also far more prone to HeroicSelfDeprecation whenever his worth as a hero is indirectly called into question along with having a hidden darker and spiteful side of him regarding those who tormented him in the past.
* AdaptationalKarma: {{Inverted|Trope}}. The viewings of both ''MHA watches Death Battle'' and ''Welcome to the MCU'' give Izuku's previous beliefs of a Quirkless Hero validation.
* AdaptationalUgliness: He has permanent and lingering scars littered across his body from Bakugou's BarbaricBully tendencies in the past.
* AllLovingHero: {{Reconstructed|Trope}}. He'll always save those in need regardless of who they are or what they've done to him or others in the past, but as [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome realistically]] shown in ''Welcome to the MCU'', Izuku is not above lingering resentment and trauma from experiencing such deplorable actions, especially with most of the abuse inflicted from a former friend. Yet, with an encouraging speech from All Might, Izuku continues to hold steadfast to his forgiving and caring nature and intends to resolve his issues with Bakugo in the future.
* AscendedFanboy: Izuku was a big fan of [[BigGood All Might]] while growing up, and was picked to be his successor when All Might witnessed his [[HeroicSpirit attempted rescue of Katsuki despite his lack of power]].
* BerserkButton:
** Do not show any signs of perverted tendencies to the girls who are crushing on him or their alternate selves.
** Never, ''ever'' say anything bad about his mother. He is an ExtremelyProtectiveChild and won't hesitate to threaten even All Might if he has to.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He's a NiceGuy cinnamon roll unless you make him angry. Then you get someone who Bakugou and even ''All Might'' who won't want to cross.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He and Shoto both faced horrific abuse from a loved one with a fire-based Quirk and gained extreme self-esteem issues.
* BornUnlucky: He was born Quirkless (the fantastical equivalent of being physically disabled), leading to his father divorcing his mother, and faced horrifical discrimination from his former best friend, peers, and teachers for over a decade before things started for the better on his fateful meeting with All Might. Fittingly, this carries over to some of his alternate counterparts:
** In ''MHA watches Death Battle'', some of his counterparts were either, betrayed by a close ally (i.e. Kratos and Spawn), grew up in abusive households and[=/=]or had an abusive parent (i.e. Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter), is permanently [[DeadAlternateCounterpart dead]] (i.e. Daisy the Rabbit, Liu Kang, and Zack Fair), or suffers from very similar circumstances (i.e. Spider-Man).
** In ''Welcome to the MCU'', his MCU counterpart, Izuku Rogers aka. '''ComicBook/CaptainAmerica''' has a DarkAndTroubledPast similar to his own before their journeys began in a twist of fate.
* BuildingSwing: He implements this in chapter 27 of ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' by using Black Whip after witnessing his multiversal counterpart, Spider-Man, in action during the "Batman vs Spider-Man" segment.
* TheChosenOne: Moreso in the fic, where Izuku has the designated "Main Protagonist" status in his home universe and the endless similar ones, along with the cosmic intervention from an unknown celestial and multidimensional deity (Zayden). This gets lampshaded by everyone else throughout ''MHA Watches Death Battle''
* CluelessChickMagnet: Is oblivious to the affections of his female classmates and companions.
* CosmicPlaything: He certainly thinks so of himself, as seen in ''Welcome to the MCU'', and many others soon follow when knowing his DarkAndTroubledPast and discovering his "Main Protagonist" status in ''MHA Watches Death Battle''.
* {{Determinator}}: To the point where it's practically a Quirk in its own right, even surpassing Bakugou and All Might given his DarkAndTroubledPast.
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: Despite Izuku's kindness and willingness to give others a second chance, even he has his limits when it comes to genuinely evil people like All For One and the multiversal villains shown in ''Tales of the Dekuverse''.
** Justified and downplayed in a realistic way with Bakugou. As both fics show, Izuku secretly still has lingering hatred toward him for his past betrayal and vicious bullying for over a decade, and it's very understandable since Bakugou, aside from peer pressure, was ''never'' forced by others into committing those actions. Never mind the fact that Katsuki was practically family to Izuku and when it came down to it in the past, [[FriendOrIdolDecision Bakugou would choose to stand by for a bunch of strangers who would constantly flatter him and would have no problems throwing him under the bus if he stops being useful to them rather than a kind-hearted boy who would always try to do the right thing for others even in the worst of times.]] However, this will slowly be subverted once he and Katsuki truly reconcile down the line.
* FanOfTheUnderdog: Justified due to Izuku's status as one, as ''Tales of the Dekuverse'' has him showed great respect and TearsOfJoy witnessing the accomplishments of BadassNormal heroes and ones who suffered greatly to get where they are now.
* FantasticAbleism: Which overlaps with FantasticRacism. He was a victim of discrimination for being the only Quirkless individual while growing up, leading him to be treated like a useless subhuman by his peers and teachers, with any form of bullying and harassment committed by them to be explicitly and implicitly ''encouraged''.
* HeroicNeutral: At times in ''MHA Watches Death Battle'', Midoriya would remain neutral in the voting of which fighter will win due to personal reasons, such as ''Batman vs Spider-Man'' and ''Batman vs Captain America'', or if he had to keep Eri and Kouta from seeing more mature-rated battles.
* KarmicJackpot: Not only did he gain a Quirk to validate his dreams after years of ridicule, bullying, and discrimination in the canon series, but the viewings also give validation to his previous beliefs of Quirkless Heroes through Batman in ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' and Hawkeye and Black Widow in ''Welcome to the MCU''.
* MommasBoy: He's very, ''very'' close to his mother, and is especially protective of her after his father's divorce, leading to a set of TraumaCongaLine.
* NiceGuy: Just like his canon counterpart. To drive it home; ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' has most of his multiversal counterparts being either [[IdealHero Ideal Heroes]] or positive and inspiring figures that bring out the best in others while in ''Welcome to the MCU'', his MCU counterpart is '''Captain America'''.
* ObliviousToLove: Has a harem in the form of his female classmates as well as Nejire, Setsuna, Hatsume, and Melissa. He has no idea all of them are crushing on him. At the same time, he does show a sort of jealousy and possessiveness in regards to them and their counterparts so it seems he's oblivious to his feelings as well.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Eri. She adores him and sees him as her "Papa" and he happily tries to fulfill the role for her.
* ProtagonistTitle: While ''Tales of the'' '''''Deku'''''''verse'' does focus on multiple characters like the canon manga, it's still clear that Izuku's status is the most important due to his "Main Protagonist" status in the nexus of TheMultiverse, as explained by the machine in ''MHA Watches Death Battle''.
* SecretKeeper: Bakugou sees his past treatment of Izuku as a DarkSecret to keep hidden and Izuku does his best to help it stay hidden. Izuku's motivation is that Bakugou isn't a BarbaricBully anymore after his CharacterDevelopment and knows that if the past does come out it will ruin Bakugou's chances as a hero and he doesn't feel it fair to do so given that he is no longer the same person that told Izuku to "take a swan dive off the roof".
* SpiderManSendUp: According to Horikoshi, ''ComicBook/SpiderMan'' is his favorite American superhero, and it isn't a surprise that Izuku's character, personality, struggles, powerset, and paragon status are inspired by the web-head and his many other iterations. In ''MHA Watches Death Battle'', it's only fitting that Izuku's multiversal counterpart is Spider-Man himself, alongside him and everyone else who's in the know of his past and One For All, acknowledging the similarities in-universe.

[[folder:Katsuki Bakugou]]
!!Katsuki Bakugou
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/katsuki.jpg]]

The [[AntiHero Anti-Heroic]] {{Deuteragonist}} of the canon series and TheRival of Izuku Midoriya.
----
* AdaptationalJerkass: Downplayed, justified, and deconstructed. In the canon manga, Katsuki started as TheBully with the worst thing he had ever done to Izuku on-screen was telling him to go [[SuicideDare kill himself]] (which WordOfGod even says that that moment was an EarlyInstallmentWeirdness) and he's not above violence in his bullying (but to what extent is unknown). Here, as a result of the setting being more DarkerAndEdgier and the FantasticAbleism of Quirkless people being much more explicit, Katsuki's bullying of Izuku is far nastier; a near daily basis of physical beatings and even went so far as to ''scar'' Izuku's body with his Explosion Quirk (which Katsuki also committed illegal Quirk use), as well as having no problems with lying to authority figures about his bullying, even to Inko (who Katsuki view as an HonoraryAunt), giving him some minor BitchInSheepsClothing[=/=]ManipulativeBastard aspect. While his previous nasty behavior towards Izuku has improved dramatically with needed CharacterDevelopment like in canon, his past sins also give him a really bad case of HeroicSelfDeprecation (as well as the viewings subtly calling it out as well as his other beliefs) with his need for atonement becoming a crux in his personality.
* AdaptationalKarma: His barbaric bullying of Izuku in the past and more unsavory actions and MightMakesRight beliefs get indirectly called out through the viewings in ''Tales of the Dekuverse'', especially when it adds to his already guilty conscience. If that wasn't enough, he also gets his pride wounded upon learning that in the grand scheme of TheMultiverse, he's one of the "extras" where Izuku is the designated "Main Protagonist".
* TheAtoner: The crux of his character in ''Tales of the Dekuverse'', moreso than in canon, as the weight of his actions towards Izuku in the past and during their first year in U.A. started to sink in after much CharacterDevelopment. Along with his past sins catching up to him with the ForegoneConclusion of his DarkSecret being revealed.
* BeyondRedemption: In ''Tales of the Dekuverse'', he sees himself as this since he believes that no matter how much he tries to make up for his actions by helping Izuku in the present time, he will never be absolved for his past betrayal and as a petty and vicious bully.
* BornLucky: He's born into wealth, lucked out with his Quirk, talented in academics, athletics, and anything he puts his mind to, and was the BigJerkOnCampus during elementary and middle school. Fittingly, some of his multiversal counterparts in ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' are incredibly powerful fighters, and his MCU counterpart in ''Welcome to the MCU'' is '''ComicBook/IronMan'''.
* BullyingTheDisabled: PlayedForDrama and [[PlayedForHorror horror]] in his past as a BarbaricBully towards the then Quirkless Izuku.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: Deconstructed and PlayedForDrama. When Katsuki reflects on his former bullying of Izuku, he's disturbed by how "normal" it was to the point that even ''he'' can't recount how much suffering he inflicted on him and it only adds to his GuiltComplex.
* ColdBloodedTorture: Downplayed, but his past bullying of Izuku is described to be borderline torture as the fic sheds more light on what transpired compared to canon.
* DarkSecret: Bakugou sees his bullying of Izuku in the past like this. A big part of the drama of the viewings is that he's worried that he will be exposed for his past misdeeds given revelations in the students' lives start coming about from them. [[spoiler:Given the ForegoneConclusion of his and Midoriya's past being revealed through the viewings, along with how all of their classmates' intolerance of bullying, he's right to be afraid.]]
* ExplosionPropulsion: He can use the explosions from his hands to launch himself into the air. This allows him to outpace the competition during the 5 person race at the start of chapter 27 in ''MHA Watches Death Battle''.
%%* FruedianExcuse:
%%* FruedianExcuseIsNoExcuse:
* FriendOrIdolDecision: Something that would constantly haunt him after his CharacterDevelopment in both fics to the point of seeing himself as BeyondRedemption; taking the side of what essentially was [[FairWeatherFriend sycophantic and opportunistic students and teachers who would throw him under the bus if he's no longer useful or in times of crisis]] over a [[TrueCompanions true, family childhood friend who would stick by his side even in the worst of times]]. What's worse is that regardless of the peer pressure, no one ''forced'' Katsuki into making this decision.
* HavingABlast: His Quirk, Explosion, allows him to create explosions that he can use for offensive, defensive, and support purposes.
* HiddenDepths: Despite his HairTriggerTemper Bakugou does have a softer side for a few things.
** Izuku's mother Inko is his HonoraryAunt and he holds her in high regard. It's implied that he's more attached to Inko as an HonoraryAunt than Izuku is to Mitsuki given how Bakugou tends to use "Auntie" when referring to her whereas Izuku leans more toward calling Mitsuki "Aunt". The fact that he spent over a decade bullying Izuku in many ways while lying to Inko (a clear case of "having his cake and eating it too") only adds more weight to his guilty conscience.
** Even he isn't immune to CutenessProximity where Eri is concerned and also tries to get the others to behave themselves around her, in his hot-tempered way.
* {{Hypocrite}}: A self-{{invoked|Trope}} one that is ''constantly'' {{lampshaded|Trope}} in his inner monologue whenever he (rightly) gets upset upon witnessing Izuku's multiversal counterparts being openly mistreated by others. It only adds to his growing regret and guilt over how he had relentlessly bullied Izuku for over a decade and lied about it to his HonoraryAunt.
* IHatePastMe: Ohoho yeah. Bakugou despises the BarbaricBully he used to be and is filled to the brim with self-hatred and guilt over his past actions. Even going so far as to brutally call his past self an "arrogant piece of shit" to Ibara in secret in ''Welcome to the MCU! Phase 2!'' It's to a plot point in ''Tales of the Dekuverse'', where he has a crippling doubt of whether he could truly change for the better.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: {{Deconstructed|Trope}}. Make no mistake, while Katsuki is trying to improve himself and atone for his past bullying of Izuku (along with the fact that the staff and student body of Aldera Middle School has the lion's share of enabling and encouraging his worst aspects and shielding him from consequences), it doesn't excuse the fact that he still made the ''choice'' to bully Izuku in nearly all sorts of nasty ways for extremely petty reasons and whatever he told himself to justify it for ''over a decade''. Never mind getting away with it thanks to a combination of the systematic discrimination of Quickless people, [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections being shielded socially by opportunistic and bigoted faculty members]], and deceiving more reasonable authority figures, even his victim's mother, [[HonoraryAunt who he admits to having a soft spot for]] [[{{Hypocrite}} despite hating her son at that time]]. The deconstruction of this plays in with one of the {{Driving Question}}s of the fics' ForegoneConclusion of his DarkSecret being revealed, as by this point in time, Katsuki has already made leaps into his CharacterDevelopment for the better, though he's still arrogant and demeaning (but played in a VitriolicBestBuds way); is it '''''fair''''' for him to still be punished in the place of his Pre-CharacterDevelopment self and how proportional it can be before it gets ''disproportionate''?
* KarmicButtMonkey: Perhaps fittingly, he gets this status in ''Tales of the Dekuverse''. For ''MHA Watches Death Battle'', Katuski's multiversal counterparts get the short end of the stick for slapstick, which can be played either [[PlayedForLaughs comically]] or [[PlayedForDrama dramatically]]. All while also having a poor record of victories compared to Izuku's multiversal counterparts and learning that Izuku has a greater connection throughout TheMultiverse and is the designated "Main Protagonist" of their universe. For ''Welcome to the MCU'', his MCU counterpart is ''Katsuki Stark''. Just like Tony Stark, Katsuki Stark's attempts at atonement are constantly met with suffering and humiliation, along with a bad tendency to accumulate [[NiceJobBreakingItHero long-term consequences due to past sins and trying to atone for said past sins]] to the point of a RunningGag. That's also not getting into the fact that in both fics, the chances of his DarkSecret being revealed is not a matter of "if", but ''[[ForegoneConclusion when]]''.
* MustMakeAmends: Although he initially believes that he has no hope of ever being redeemed for his past sins, he still intends to make it up to Izuku in the present time no matter what.
* SuspiciouslyCleanCriminalRecord: As his and Izuku's past are slowly unraveled through the viewings and the obvious tension being shown, the U.A. staff took a look over Bakugou's school records and noticed how "clean" it was despite his obvious anger issues and perchance for violence in contrast to Midoriya's records, which are ''littered'' with plenty of black marks despite his timid and nice personality. To say the least, this only confirms their already strong suspicion of Katsuki's past as a cruel bully. And among other things...
* TreacheryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: A notable case seen in the "Kratos vs Spawn" segment of ''MHA Watches Death Battle''. While Bakugou's BarbaricBully tendencies against Izuku were certainly bad, it's the betrayal that Izuku felt from the torment that left leftover hatred and bitterness for the explosive teen. This is even lampshaded by Bakugou himself in chapter 38 of the same fic, seeing himself as BeyondRedemption because of this.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: As he reveals his past to Ibara in ''Welcome to the MCU! Phase 2!'' (but not about Izuku), he always knew that deep down, the other teachers and students from both elementary and middle school are nothing more than sycophants and groupies with empty compliments for practically everything he does, yet, he cares for it so much that he would do anything to keep the attention on him, even it means bullying others and justifying it in his head as "IDidWhatIHadToDo by putting them in their place" when it was nothing more than him being an "insecure and petty piece of shit".

[[folder:All Might]]
!!All Might
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toshinori_yagi.jpg]]

The former #1 Pro Hero in Japan and TheMentor to Izuku Midoriya. He was also the 8th wielder of One for All before passing it on to Izuku.
----
* BrokenAce: He was the #1 Pro Hero of Japan and is LovedByAll, but the fame of heroism, and later the hardships of it took a toll on his idealism which is rekindled on his fateful meeting with Izuku.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: He's got blond hair and is an overall NiceGuy.
* IHatePastMe: While he had sympathetic reasons for his CruelToBeKind words to Izuku in their first meeting, he later regrets them upon seeing the importance of non-powered, BadassNormal superheroes in the viewings like '''Franchise/{{Batman}}''' in ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' and '''ComicBook/{{Hawkeye}}''' and '''ComicBook/BlackWidow''' in ''Welcome to the MCU'' and how they managed to accomplish feats that make them on par with their superpowered peers. Resolving to make it up to his pupil in addition to his poor teaching methods that led to Izuku's DentedIron in his first year at U.A.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: While he eventually starts to wise up of Bakugou's past as a cruel, BarbaricBully, he's not entirely aware of just ''how'' bad he was, which Katsuki internally narrates in chapter 38 of ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' that if he did know, he would never speak or look at him again.
* TheMentor: To Izuku, and by extension to Class 1-A.
* MustMakeAmends: In both fics, he would do this for Izuku for the bad teaching methods that led to him being a DentedIron in his first year alone. Also in ''MHA Watches Death Battle'', for his CruelToBeKind words to Izuku in their first meeting after seeing the possibility of a BadassNormal Hero being considered one of the "greatest heroes" of TheMultiverse through the appearance of ''Batman''.
* NotSoAboveItAll: In ''Tales of the Dekuverse'', it's revealed that not even he was above letting the fame of being the Number 1 Pro Hero of Japan get to his head to the point of losing sight of why he became a hero in the first place. This flaw gets him the crippling scar from One for All in their first battle and is hypocritical by telling Izuku that he can't be a hero without a Quirk when they first met.

!!Shoto Todoroki
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shoto_todoroki.jpg]]

The youngest son of former #2 Pro Hero Endeavour and a student in Class 1-A.
----
* AdaptationalRelationshipOverhaul: Compared to the canon manga, his friendship with Izuku is played up to be closer, to the point of being brothers in all but name and risking their lives for one another.
* BestFriend: To Izuku Midoriya, moreso than Bakugou. This even applies to their multiversal counterparts in both ''MHA Watches Death Battle'' and ''Welcome to the MCU'', such as Cloud Strife and Shoto Barnes respectively.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He and Izuku both faced horrific abuse from a loved one with a fire-based Quirk and gained extreme self-esteem issues.
* HeroicNeutral: Seemingly does this in ''Batman vs Spider-Man'', but it's unknown why exactly.
* HybridPower: His Quirk allows him to use fire and ice thanks to his parents.
* RedeemingReplacement: His close friendship with Deku is played up to be this for the latter compared to the broken one he had with Bakugou.
[[/folder]]

!!The Multiverse
[[folder:In General]]
* DimensionalTraveler: Everyone is capable of physically entering another world through their own means (magical, technological, etc.), including the world ''My Hero Academia'' and its parallel ones.
* TheMultiverse: It's pretty much self-explanatory.
* TheOmnipotent: Considering the nature of the multiverse and the various watchers and dimensional travelers, they're more than capable of doing the impossible compared to the low-fantastical world of ''My Hero Academia''.
* OurGodsAreDifferent: Many of the beings that are currently watching the cast of the ''My Hero Academia'' world can be viewed as deities or watchers of the multiverse, according to the device in ''MHA Watches Death Battle''.
* TheWatcher: Many of them watch the world of ''My Hero Academia'' from afar and its changes from the canon storyline.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Zayden [=StormVoid=]]]
!!Zayden [=StormVoid=]

A multidimensional being. He intervenes in similar universes of the ''My Hero Academia'' world to bring forth a great change to the storyline.
----
* AdaptationalJerkass: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with in ''MHA watches Death Battle''. In ''Welcome to the MCU'', Zayden is, at worst, a well-intentioned if enigmatic entity who happens to be a {{troll}}, doing little to interfere with the viewings outside of remotely hacking F.R.I.D.A.Y. to make sure she doesn't accidentally reveal too much too early, and it's stated their overall end goal is to try and steer the timeline in a different direction than that of the PLF War. In ''MHA watches Death Battle'' however, they're a lot less overtly benevolent, regularly interfering with the viewers in the name of making things "entertaining" even at their expense, and making it no secret they will continue to do so despite any precautions the characters may take to avert it, causing the viewers to see them as a {{jerkass god|s}}. [[spoiler:Chapter 37, however, has Zayden reveal to Kyoka, and the Sisterhood by proxy, that they ''can't'' deliberately hurt Izuku without effectively killing themself ''and'' damning their universe, if they even wanted to in the first place, and had no part in any of the girls' feelings for Izuku. Their goal is to ''improve'', not harm, after all, and they can only do so if the world is heading towards a catastrophic fate like the PLF War. After hearing this from Kyoka, Setsuna is initially skeptical of said claim due to Izuku's behavior during "Kratos vs. Spawn" and their admission it occurred because ItAmusedMe, before realizing it was a case of being CruelToBeKind. While still a well-intentioned individual, ''MHA watches Death Battle'' has Zayden going about those intentions in a more roundabout, and somewhat harsher, method than in ''Welcome to the MCU''.]]
* AuthorAvatar: He's essentially one for the author, [[https://archiveofourown.org/users/Zayden_StormVoid/pseuds/Zayden_StormVoid Zayden]] [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/9474445/Zayden-StormVoid StormVoid]].
* BewareTheSillyOnes: They may be a {{troll}} at times, but as a multidimensional being, he's pretty much TheOmnipotent to the low-fantastical world of ''My Hero Academia'', and can be ''very'' dangerous to any {{Jerkass}}, whether they be a hero or villain, who tries to harm the cast. Just ask Monoma after spending the entire Phase 1 of ''Welcome to the MCU'' slandering the Class 1-A students, Inko, and what he plans to "libel" against Midoriya and Bakugou by using edited photos of himself doing various pranks. [[note]]As approved by the Council of Ricks and voted by himself and a fellow cohort, they have him suffer an AndIMustScream by perpetually falling into the [[VoidBetweenTheWorlds Void Sea Between Worlds]] for 3 whole hours (where it was only 30 minutes that had gone by in his native universe) as a ''slap on the wrist'', with Zayden placing a great emphasis of what happened to him will '''pale''' in comparison to whatever punishments that the Council of Ricks and himself can come up with if he continues to act up.[[/note]]
* CruelToBeKind: {{Discussed|Trope}}. During the events of ''MHA watches Death Battle'', Izuku begins experiencing headaches and demonstrating traits of Kratos and Spawn, Zayden admitting to being the one responsible while claiming they did so because ItAmusedMe. [[spoiler:After they message Kyoka in Chapter 37 and claim they can't harm Izuku, Setsuna is skeptical about the said claim when Kyoka relays it to them since she was present when Zayden made said claim. That is until she looks at the events that spawned from said incident at a larger scale, as the said incident is what let her and Aizawa learn about One For All and caused her and Izuku to become friends, which led to the formation of the Sisterhood so they wouldn't have to fight over Izuku, which then led to Izuku beginning to recognize the feelings he has for them in turn. This causes Setsuna to realize that while Zayden's actions may have caused momentary pain, they were a roundabout means of trying to ''help'' Izuku.]]
* FanOfUnderdog:
** Zayden makes no secret that they favor Izuku Midoriya, and makes this apparent at the beginning of ''Welcome to the MCU''.
** Hilariously averted with [[ButtMonkey Dan Hibiki]], which every other Watcher laugh as well.
* ItAmusedMe: Their main reasoning for emotionally and mentally affecting Izuku in "MHA watches Death Battle", is that they wanted to make things more "entertaining". While that works for an AuthorAvatar, the notion ''terrifies'' the characters, since from their perspective, an interdimensional god decides to emotionally torment Izuku on a ''whim''. [[spoiler:However, Chapter 37 plays with this as he means no harm towards Izuku (or that would be a death sentence for him and the world he's currently watching), but to help improve his character.]]
* NoSell: While Zayden can easily hack into and communicate with F.R.I.D.A.Y. in "Welcome to the MCU", the device Wiz and Boomstick sent in "MHA watches Death Battle" is preprogrammed to self-destruct if it detects any hints of hacking, preventing Zayden from exerting any influence over it, and needing to outright ''request'' leaving it messages to give to the characters. This just means Zayden has to exert their influence on the ''[[LoopholeAbuse characters]]'' instead.
* TheOmniscient: As its current watcher, Zayden knows the past, present, and future events of the ''My Hero Academia'' world.
* RealityWarper: Zayden is capable of affecting the reality of the ''My Hero Academia'' world and its inhabitants in any way possible. Whether it'll be teleporting people to different places or even outside of their native universe or can induce emotions that they wouldn't otherwise be capable of, or refuse to, on their own.
* TimeDissonance: As befitting his nature as an AuthorAvatar, Zayden's perspective of time is very different compared to the inhabitants of the ''My Hero Academia'' world. As shown in Chapter 37 of ''MHA Watches Death Battle'', Zayden asks [[spoiler:Kyoka]] if ''[[Website/TwitterX Twitter]]'' is now rebranded as "''X''" from their point-of-view.[[labelnote:Context]]In 2022, ''Twitter'' was officially acquired by [[UsefulNotes/SpaceExplorationTechnologiesCorporation Elon Musk]], and while it retained the name "Twitter" for the remainder of 2022 and the first half of 2023, it would be officially rebranded as "''X''" on July 23rd, the same day Chapter 37 was published.[[/labelnote]]

!!The Council of Ricks

A large group of alternative Rick Sanchez, who sought refuge from governments [[{{Hypocrite}} by becoming a government]]. They currently enforce the rules of how much information the devices can show to the natives of the ''My Hero Academia'' world.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: In ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty'', the Council of Ricks is only powerful and intelligent in the Central Finite Curve; an interdimensional wall built around TheMultiverse that filters out any universes where Rick Sanchez '''[[NormalFishInATinyPond isn't]]''' the WorldsSmartestMan. Here, they're much more mysterious and formidable due to collaborating with beings outside the Central Finite Curve like Zayden and an unnamed associate.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: At least from how they currently act in ''Tales of the Dekuverse''.
* AllianceOfAlternates: Every member is a Rick Sanchez from across the multiverse, creating a society meant to regulate each other’s activity to keep the rest of them safe and/or content.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: They have a relatively silly title but make no mistake, they're just as dangerous to the multiverse in a given situation as seen in ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty''. Especially when they approve of whatever Zayden has in mind for any {{Jerkass}} who tries to harm the heroes in any sort of way.
* TheFantasticFaux: They're based on the Council of Reeds from the ''ComicBook/FantasticFour'' comics, which are composed of dozens of amoral versions of ComicBook/MisterFantastic.
* TheOmniscientCouncilOfVagueness: Unlike the show, the council is pretty much vague in both appearances and goals besides keeping the order in check of the viewings.

!!Wizard and Boomstick

The co-hosts of ''WebAnimation/DeathBattle'' and natives of Earth-420.
----
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: In this continuity, they attracted the unwanted attention of their world's government who wanted to exploit their research and technology to create {{Super Soldier}}s. This leads them to erase all traces of their identities and information from the dimensional viewings on the internet and safeguard their life's work by sending the Death Battle simulations through a random universe (with additional safeguards in case whoever finds it tries to abuse the information), all before going into hiding and intending to claim the box back one day.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: The two of them can be summed up as MadScientist and TheAlcoholic respectively, but they can build world-changing technology that allows them to peer into the multiverse and portal gates that allow things to be transported to other dimensions. Even the box that contained the ''DEATH BATTLE'' videos had many safeguards added by them that prevent even ''Zayden'', a multidimensional godlike being, from direct interference (i.e. hacking) lest it self-destructs.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Their attempts to safeguard the information of multiple worlds allow multidimensional beings like Zayden to intervene and take advantage of the situation to suit their own goals for a chosen world, as Wizard and Boomstick had no intentions of giving the information to anyone specifically and only hoped for the best that when any intelligent lifeform found the box, then they won't abuse it (along with the added safeguards if they do).
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: As a result of preventing their world's government from abusing their multiversal technology, Wizard and Boomstick destroyed all traces of their original identities and went on the run.
