* AdaptationalJerkass: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with in ''MHA watches Death Battle''. In ''Welcome to the MCU'', Zayden is, at worst, a well-intentioned if enigmatic entity who happens to be a {{troll}}, doing little to interfere with the viewings outside of remotely hacking F.R.I.D.A.Y. to make sure she doesn't accidentally reveal too much too early, and it's stated their overall end goal is to try and steer the timeline in a different direction than that of the PLF War. In ''MHA watches Death Battle'' however, they're a lot less overtly benevolent, regularly interfering with the viewers in the name of making things "entertaining" even at their expense, and making it no secret they will continue to do so despite any precautions the characters may take to avert it, causing the viewers to see them as a {{jerkass god|s}}. [[spoiler:Chapter 37, however, has Zayden reveal to Kyoka, and the Sisterhood by proxy, that they ''can't'' deliberately hurt Izuku without effectively killing themself ''and'' damning their universe, if they even wanted to in the first place, and had no part in any of the girls' feelings for Izuku. Their goal is to ''improve'', not harm, after all, and they can only do so if the world is heading towards a catastrophic fate like the PLF War. After hearing this from Kyoka, Setsuna is initially skeptical of said claim due to Izuku's behavior during "Kratos vs. Spawn" and their own admission it occurred because ItAmusedMe, before realizing it was actually a case of being CruelToBeKind. Whether it'll be teleporting people to different places or even outside of their native universe or can induce emotions that they wouldn't otherwise be capable of on their own.
* TimeyWimeyBall: Zayden's perspective of time is very different compared to the inhabitants of the ''My Hero Academia'' world. Here, they're much more mysterious and formidable due to collaborating with beings outside the Central Finite Curve like Zayden and an unnamed associate.

* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Izuku's DarkAndTroubledPast gets more [[AdaptationExpansion expanded]] in the fic, and is much darker in nature and PlayedForDrama. His DisappearedDad divorced his mother right after being diagnosed as Quirkless, was severely bullied, humilated, and discriminated against in both elementary and middle school to the point of torture; including but not limited to, assault and battery by Bakugou and many other students playing "follow the leader" on a ''near-daily'' basis that would end with him laying on the ground beaten, bloodied, and vomiting in addition to verbal insults (along with Bakugou illegally using his Quirk to permanently scarred his body), [[spoiler:gets manipulated into thinking that a girl in Aldera had feelings for him only to be in for a nasty prank]], and apathetic faculty members who either turn a blind eye and deaf ear to his suffering or actively/impassively encouraging it. He's also far more prone to HeroicSelfDeprecation whenever his worth as a hero is indirectly called into question along with having a hidden darker and spiteful side of him regarding those who tormented him in the past.

* AscendedFanboy: Izuku was a big fan of [[BigGood All Might]] while growing up, and was picked to be his successor when All Might witnessed his [[HeroicSpirit attempted rescue of Katsuki despite his lack of power]].

* FanOfTheUnderdog: Justified due to Izuku's own status as one, as ''Tales of the Dekuverse'' has him showed great respect and TearsOfJoy witnessing the accomplishments of BadassNormal heroes and ones who suffered greatly to get where they are now.
* FantasticAbleism: Which overlaps with FantasticRacism. He was a victim of this since he was the only Quirkless individual while growing up, leading him to be treated like a useless subhuman by his peers and teachers, with any form of discrimination by them explicitly and implicitly ''encouraged''.

At the same time, he does show a sort of jealousy and possessiveness in regards to them and their counterparts so it seems he's oblivious to his own feelings as well.

* AdaptationalJerkass: Downplayed, justified, and deconstructed. In the canon manga, Katsuki started off as TheBully with the worst thing he had ever done to Izuku on-screen was telling him to go [[SuicideDare kill himself]] (which WordOfGod even says that that moment was an EarlyInstallmentWeirdness) and he's not above violence in his bullying (but to what extent is unknown). Here, as a result of the setting being more DarkerAndEdgier and the FantasticAbleism of Quirkless people being much more explicit, Katsuki's bullying of Izuku is far nastier; a near daily basis of physical beatings and even went so far as to ''scar'' Izuku's body with his Explosion Quirk (which Katsuki also committed illegal Quirk use), as well as having no problems with lying to authority figures about his bullying, even to Inko (who Katsuki view as an HonoraryAunt), giving him some minor BitchInSheepsClothing[=/=]ManipulativeBastard aspect. While his previous nasty behavior towards Izuku has improved dramatically with needed CharacterDevelopment like in canon, his past sins also give him a really bad case of HeroicSelfDeprecation (as well as the viewings subtly calling it out as well as his other beliefs) with his need for atonement becoming a crux in his personality.

* DarkSecret: Bakugou sees his bullying of Izuku in the past like this. A big part of the drama of the viewings is that he's worried that he will be exposed for his past misdeeds given revelations in the students' lives start coming about from them. [[spoiler:Given the likely ForegoneConclusion of his and Midoriya's past being revealed through the viewings, along with how all of their classmates' intolerance of bullying, he's right to be afraid.]]

** Izuku's mother Inko is his HonoraryAunt and he holds her in high regard. In fact, it's implied that he's more attached to Inko as an HonoraryAunt than Izuku is to Mitsuki given how Bakugou tends to use "Auntie" when referring to her whereas Izuku leans more toward calling Mitsuki "Aunt". The fact that he spent over a decade bullying Izuku in many ways while lying to Inko (a clear case of "having his cake and eating it too") only adds more weight to his guilty conscience.
** Even he isn't immune to CutenessProximity where Eri is concerned and also tries to get the others to behave themselves around her, in his own hot-tempered way.
* {{Hypocrite}}: A self-{{invoked|Trope}} one that is ''constantly'' {{lampshaded|Trope}} in his inner monologue whenever he (rightly) gets upset upon witnessing Izuku's multiversal counterparts being openly mistreated by others. As it only adds to his growing regret and guilt over how he himself had relentlessly bullied Izuku for over a decade and lied about it to his HonoraryAunt.

* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: {{Deconstructed|Trope}}. Make no mistake, while Katsuki is trying to improve himself and atone for his past bullying of Izuku (along with the fact that the staff and student body of Aldera Middle School has the lion's share of enabling and encouraging his worst aspects and shielding him from consequences), it doesn't excuse the fact that he still made the ''choice'' to bully Izuku in nearly all sorts of nasty ways for extremely petty reasons and whatever he told himself to justify it for ''over a decade''. Never mind getting away with it thanks to a combination of the systematic discrimination of Quickless people, [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections being shielded in a social manner by opportunistic and bigoted faculty members]], and deceiving more reasonable authority figures, even his victim's mother, [[HonoraryAunt who he admits to having a soft spot for]] [[{{Hypocrite}} despite hating her son at that time]]. The deconstruction of this plays in with one of the {{Driving Question}}s of the fics' ForegoneConclusion of his DarkSecret being revealed, as by this point in time, Katsuki has already made leaps into his CharacterDevelopment for the better, though he's still arrogant and demeaning (but played in a VitriolicBestBuds way); is it '''''fair''''' for him to still be punished in the place of his Pre-CharacterDevelopment self and how proportional it can be before it gets ''disproportionate''?
* KarmicButtMonkey: Perhaps fittingly, he gets this status in ''Tales of the Dekuverse''. For ''MHA Watches Death Battle'', Katuski's multiversal counterparts get the short end of the stick for slapstick, which can be played either [[PlayedForLaughs comically]] or [[PlayedForDrama dramatically]]. All while also having a poor record of victories compared to Izuku's multiversal counterparts and learning that Izuku has a greater connection throughout TheMultiverse and is the designated "Main Protagonist" of their own universe. For ''Welcome to the MCU'', his MCU counterpart is ''Katsuki Stark''. Just like Tony Stark, Katsuki Stark's attempts at atonement are constantly met with suffering and humiliation, along with a bad tendency to accumulate [[NiceJobBreakingItHero long-term consequences due to past sins and trying to atone for said past sins]] to the point of a RunningGag. That's also not getting into the fact that in both fics, the chances of his DarkSecret being revealed is not a matter of "if", but ''[[ForegoneConclusion when]]''.

* TreacheryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: A notable case seen in the "Kratos vs Spawn" segment of ''MHA Watches Death Battle''. While Bakugou's BarbaricBully tendencies against Izuku were certainly bad, it's the betrayal that Izuku felt from the torment that really left leftover hatred and bitterness for the explosive teen. This is even lampshaded by Bakugou himself in chapter 38 of the same fic, seeing himself as BeyondRedemption because of this.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: As he reveals his past to Ibara in ''Welcome to the MCU! Phase 2!'' (but not about Izuku), he always knew that deep down, the other teachers and students from both elementary and middle school are nothing more than sycophants and groupies with empty compliments for practically everything he does, yet, he cares for it so much that he would be do anything to keep the attention on him, even it means bullying others and justifying it in his head as "IDidWhatIHadToDo by putting them in their place" when it was really nothing more than him being an "insecure and petty piece of shit".

* AdaptationalJerkass: Downplayed, justified, and deconstructed. In the canon manga, Katsuki started off as TheBully with the worse thing he had ever done to Izuku on-screen was telling him to go [[SuicideDare kill himself]] (which WordOfGod even says that that moment was an EarlyInstallmentWeirdness) and he's not above violence in his bullying (but to what extent is unknown). Here, as a result of the setting being more DarkerAndEdgier and the FantasticAbleism of Quirkless people being much more explicit, Katsuki's bullying of Izuku is far nastier and reminiscent of his [[Fanfic/{{Cain}} Cain counterpart]], with a near daily basis of physical beatings and even went as so far as to ''scar'' Izuku's body with his Explosion Quirk (which Katsuki also committed illegal Quirk use), as well as having no problems with lying to authority figures about his bullying, even to Inko (who Katsuki view as an HonoraryAunt), giving him some minor BitchInSheepsClothing[=/=]ManipulativeBastard aspect.
* AdaptationalKarma: His barbaric bullying of Izuku in the past and more unsavory actions and MightMakesRight beliefs gets indirectly called out through the viewings in ''Tales of the Dekuverse'', especially when it adds to his already guilty conscience. If that wasn't enough, he also gets his pride wounded upon learning that in the grand scheme of TheMultiverse, he's one of the "extras" where Izuku is the designated "Main Protagonist".

Whether it'll be teleporting people to different places or even outside of their native universe or can induce emotions that they wouldn't otherwise be capable of on their own.
