!!Sakamoto Ryouma
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakamoto_ryoma_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume 1]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakamoto_ryoma_sea_support_full.png]][[/labelnote]]
[[caption-width-right:280:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume 2]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakamoto_ryoma_bunny_full_4.png]] [[/labelnote]]
* AlternateSelf: Her sailor shirt wearing form is actually a visitor from another dimension. And just like the original Ryouma, she quickly becomes friends with everyone thanks to her outgoing personality, and co-exists with Ryouma Prime as a trusted ally of Zipang.
* BeneathTheMask: Although she acts like a typical GyaruGirl who's only interested in superficial things like cosmetics and such, Ryouma is actually well-versed in the craft of entreprenurship, always thinking ahead and looking out for business opportunities. Anyone who takes her shallow airhead persona at its face value are bound to have the rug pulled out from underneath them.
* FatalFireworks: Her Hero Skill has her bombarding her enemies with barrages of fireworks.
* FriendInTheBlackMarket: Acts as this to various people of influence, smuggling goods in and out of Zipang during the nation's closed borders era.
* GoodCapitalismEvilCapitalism: Fits on both sides. Ryouma is a very shrewd businesswoman who aims to make a name for herself via entrepreneurship. While she is very profit-driven and wouldn't hesitate resorting to WarForFunAndProfit, she does have a degree of moral standard to keep her from stooping too low.
* GyaruGirl: Of the Kogal variant. Her outfit (minus the more traditional Haori) is obviously styled after private school uniforms from real life Japan, while she also sports perm hair and various fashionable accessories.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Auburn hair, pale green eyes and she's the game's signature character.
* SwordAndGun: She wields both a katana and a pistol.

!!Sakanoue no Tamuramaro
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakanoue_no_tamuramaro_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume 1]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakanoue_no_tamuramaro_bunny_full.png]][[/labelnote]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume 2]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakanoue_no_tamuramaro_spring_full.png]][[/labelnote]]
* CleavageWindow: Both her regular costume and bunnygirl costume have an opening for her cleavage.
* DitzyGenius: Despite her extraordinary talents, Tamuramaro seems to lack basic knowledge when it comes to everyday life, including the concept of sleep (which she considers to be the same as "passing out due to exhaustion"). Her tendency to [[SeriousBusiness take things more seriously than necessary]] also contributes to this.
* FacialMarkings: She has four red dots on her forehead.
* FashionableAsymmetry: She has an oni head on the left side of her armor, but not in the right side.
* HyperCompetentSidekick: Tamuramaro in a nutshell. She's capable of, and often does accomplish five times as much as any ordinary retainer. Given [[TheSlacker Takeru's]] laissez-faire attitude when it came to her duties, Tamuramaro naturally had to shoulder a lot of burden for the less-than-diligent former King of Zipang.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: She wields a wakizashi whose length is comparable to that of Kojiro Sasaki.
* UndyingLoyalty: She's extremely loyal to her liege, and would go to any length to complete tasks entrusted to her, no matter how unreasonable the request.

!!En no Goyja
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/en_no_gyoja_full.png]]
* AscendedExtra: Previously an NPC in ''GOLD'' who can be fought in an optional encounter.
* FullFrontalAssault: The two Onis which flank her stay completely nude even after having transformed into their full-sized humanoid forms, but with [[NonHumansLackAttributes their dignity being preserved]] thanks to BarbieDollAnatomy.
* MagicalGirl: Wields a ''{{Anime/PrettyCure}}'' styled wand as her weapon and flanked by two familiars who'd fit right in a MagicalGirl show.
* RedOniBlueOni: Her two familiars, Zenki and Goki embody this trope, with the red Zenki being an axe-wielding berserker capable of dealing devastating blows to the enemy, while the blue Goki serves as the WhiteMage who heals and buffs her summoner and allies.
* SizeShifter: Her familiars will grow into full-sized Onis once she charges them up in battle.
* {{Stripperific}}: Her breasts are barely concealed by the two loose strips hanging over them.

!!Otohime
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/otohime_full.png]]
* TheCutie: An innocent princess who resides at the dragon palace under the ocean.
* FishOutOfWater: Inverted. Due to her curse, she cannot set foot onto dry land, therefore is forced to live underwater for most of her life. Thankfully nullified later on due to Chihaya's efforts.
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: Despite being human, the marine denizens of the palace recognize her as their princess, asking her to rule over them.
* MaamShock: She's Yoshitsune's niece, a fact that the latter isn't too pleased to be reminded of.

!!Kato Kiyomasa
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kiyomasa_kato_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:280:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kiyomasa_kato_bunny_full.png]] [[/labelnote]]
* AnimalMotifs: Tigers, and she really likes them.
* CleavageWindow: Her outfit has an opening in her armor for her ample cleavage.
* GirlFriday: She's a loyal vassal of Takeru, left in charge of watching over the Seal of Yamata-no-Orochi while Takeru is (slacking) away.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: She wields a katana with a tiger-themed handle.
* NavelWindow: Her bunny girl outfit has an opening for her navel.

!!Takizawa Bakin
[[quoteright:330:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/takizawa_bakin_full.png]]
* AccentSlipUp: She will occasionally slip into her native Edo accent when she gets overexcited.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Her sleeves are shaped like book pages and her twin-tails end in red tips that are reminiscent of paint brushes, all of which remind us she's a writer.
* EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo: Soft-spoken in contrast to Nostradamus, her easily-excited friend.
* GirlishPigtails: She has some impressive braided twin-tails, ending in red tips which make them reminiscent of paint brushes.
* HurricaneOfEuphemisms: Due to the nature of her work, she's very good at coming up with innuendos and double entendres, and will often converse with Nostradamus exclusively using SexualEuphemism.
* MarriedToTheJob: Due to the wild popularity of her books, her publishers are sending people to literally camp out at her house so they can start printing faster. This forces Bakin to keep a strict schedule and structure her daily life around writing in order to meet her deadlines. Fortunately, since joining the Zipangese army, she is able to scale back on her writing career in favor of her military duties.
* NarratingThePresent: She habitually narrates her own actions much like [[Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex the Misaka Sisters]].
* YaoiFangirl: She's a bestseller author who specializes in Yaoi novels. Unsurprisingly, she's also a good friend with Nostradamus, [[CommonalityConnection the other Yaoi creator]] in Chihaya's army.

!!Dokyo
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dokyo_full.png]]
* DimensionalTraveler: She is a master of sorcery, and was able to travel into Chihaya's dimension using a combination of her own powers and a possessed ring given to her by a demon.
* TheExile: She was exiled from the Zipang of another dimension by its empress due to a political dispute.
* MagicStaff: She carries a golden priestly staff similar to that of Sanzou.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Wearing nothing apart from loose sleeves and thin strips of cloth which leave very little to imagination.
* VerbalTic: She has a habit of adding "That is the way!" (条理!) to her sentences.

!!Unkei & Kakei
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unkei&kaikei_full.png]]
* IdentityBreakdown: They constantly fight over who's the sculptor and who's the sculpture.
* MeaningfulAppearance: The BackToBackBadasses poses they're standing in are [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nio the Niō poses]], commonly adapted by statues of the two wrathful and muscular guardians of the Buddha. This is obviously a deliberate homage to the ''Agyō'' (one half of the Niōs), one of the most famous works done by their real life inspirations.
* RedOniBlueOni: They represent the concept, with Unkei as the red and Kakei as the blue.
* TrueCraftsman: They hold their skills in very high regard and will go to any length to craft the best piece possible when it comes to their work. In fact, they are so dedicated to their craft that they can literally make [[LivingStatue their]] [[LivingDrawing work]] [[ArtInitiatesLife come to life]].
* VitriolicBestBuds: Constantly arguing with each other over who's the real sculptor, while insisting that the other is their creation. Nevertheless, they share a close bond due to this connection and [[ActionDuo fights very effectively as a single unit]].
-->'''Unkei:''' ''(upon taking damage)'' [[AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther Mannequin! Are you alright?]]
* WeaponsOfTheirTrade: They wield their giant craftsman hammers in battle.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:East Asia]]
!Taika Empire
!!Bai Qi
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bai_qi_full.png]]
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Inverted. She perceives herself to be the elder to everyone else, and insists on pampering them with headpats.
* DeadlyDisc: She throws chakram-like discs at her target as her main attack.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Implied. She's a seasoned general of the Taika and has participated in various wars, which partially justifies her habit of always acting as the senior to people around her.
* OldRetainer: Having served the Taika for a long time and is fiercely loyal to the empire. Qin Shi Huang had to forcibly retire her due to her working herself to the bones.
* PhallicWeapon: Her combat sprite and Hero Skill animation shows her firing... [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything a stream of yellow beam out of her crotch]]...[[labelnote:explaination]]This is very likely a spoof based on the infamous Chinese-built [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xianxingzhe Xianxingzhe robot]], a bipedal humanoid robot that for some reason, sports protruding joints near its crotch which resemble a crotch-mounted cannon.[[/labelnote]]
* PrettyInMink: She wears a nice white furry coat over her swimsuit.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: Underneath her coat she wears a white swimsuit.

!!Dao Zhi
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dao_zhi_full.png]]
* BatterUp: She uses a nailed baseball bat as her primary weapon.
* HandwrapsOfAwesome: Her hands have bandages, which goes well with her lovable rogue image.
* LovableRogue: Cherry and upbeat despite being a notorious scoundrel. She also [[JustLikeRobinHood robs to give to the poor]].
* {{Sarashi}}: She wears bandages to cover her breasts.
* TomboyishPonytail: She wears a short side ponytail and she's not particularly feminine.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: She only covers her otherwise exposed chest with bandages.

!!Pao Ding
[[quoteright:330:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pao_ding_full.png]]
* AnimeChineseGirl: The most clear cut case among the Taika heroes, wearing a qipao, having her hair arranged in odangos and making a martial art pose.
* ChefOfIron: She's a chef who wields a giant cleaver and a huge frying pan into battle.
* HandwrapsOfAwesome: She wears handwraps, fitting for a martial artist.
* MacheteMayhem: She wields a massive meat cleaver.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Pao Ding is a moniker meaning "kitchen hand" rather than a real name.
* OralFixation: She has a thin pipe on her mouth.
* SupremeChef: As expected, she's adept with all matters culinary and can produce gourmet dishes out of nearly any ingredients, be their nature mundane or fantastical.

!Hephthalites
!!Mihirakula
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mihirakula_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: "As long as [[DetectEvil injustice and degeneracy rots this world]], [[WeWillMeetAgain I will appear again!]]"]]
* AscendedExtra: Originally she was an NPC unit fought during the conquest of Mongolia.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The melting wax dripping down her face and chest can easily be misinterpreted as, ahem, ''[[VisualInnuendo a certain other white bodily fluid]]''...[[note]]This is most likely a [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar deliberate choice]] on the developer's part, given the game's {{eroge}} roots.[[/note]]
* ElementalPersonalities: Speaks in a very passionate, fiery tone, just like her appearance would suggest.
* FieryRedhead: Besides her fire powers, she's incredibly passionate and intense about her sense of justice, with her reddish-pink hair representing that.
* KnightTemplar: She holds a firm sense of justice and has set out on a path to vanquish all evils in the world. Unfortunately, her rigid way of thinking makes her easily manipulated by [[spoiler: [[TheManBehindTheMan Taishang Laojun]]]], who sets her against the Zipangnese army by misconstruing them as evildoers.
* PlayingWithFire: Her primary attack method.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: She uses a lot of idioms in her sentences, often causing unnecessary misunderstandings with her allies.
* WreathedInFlames: She can envelope herself in flames with a combination of fire magic and magic wax, basically turning herself into a human candle.

* CleavageWindow: Her dress has an opening for her cleavage.
* GirlishPigtails: She has some long pigtails.
* HighClassFan: She carries one to show her ambition.
* MagneticHero: Her charisma and ability to empathize with the downtrodden draws many talented individuals to her cause.
* TheUsurper: Her grand ambition is to take over Taika to make a name for herself. This leads to her clashing swords with the Zipangese heroines.

!India
!!Ajatashatru
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ajatashatru_full.png]]
* ElementalMotifs: Fire. Her clothes, her axe and her crown are all themed after fire.
* ElementalPersonalities: Like her fire motif suggests, she's very rowdy and belligerent, and has [[HairTriggerTemper an explosive temper]]. Being a delinquent only adds to this.
* FemmeFatalons: Her fingernails are quite sharp.
* FieryRedhead: In contrast to Ashoka, who has managed to keep her temper in check, Ajatashatru is just as fiery and short-tempered as her intense locks and flame designs.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: She has green eyes, even the eyes of her headpiece are green and she's one of the rulers of India.
* SirSwearsALot: As befitting of her thuggish standing, she's very foul-mouthed and throws out profanities left-and-right when conversing with others.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She wears about as much as Ashoka.
* WeaponBasedCharacterization: She wields a fire-themed axe, which fits her short temper and delinquent tendencies.

!!Bodhidharma Daishi
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bodhidharma_daishi_full.png]]
* BareFistedMonk: An accomplished martial artist. Bonus point for being an actual Buddhist monk.
* FormerTeenRebel: She used to be a notorious delinquent back when she was younger, but reformed after embracing Dharma.
* IHatePastMe: She was a rather notorious hooligan back in her days, and have since then reformed herself by becoming a monk, living in serenity. Unfortunately, she was also [[ReformedCriminal Ashoka's]] predecessor, and her legend inspired an entire generation of Indian youth to follow suit in becoming delinquents, including the likes of Ajatashatru and Ashoka. She still gets flustered and ashamed whenever [[OldShame this gets dug up in front of her]].
* LevitatingLotusPosition: Her combat sprites show her floating off the ground while doing the lotus stance. Although according to WordOfGod, [[spoiler: she's not actually levitating, but rather propping herself up with the staff that she's holding between her inner thigh and the back of her knee.]]
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She barely wears more clothes than Ashoka.
* UnusualEyebrows: She has four dots and thin curved lines for eyebrows.

!Mongolia
!!Pian del Carpine
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000113000.png]]
[[caption-width-right:250: "Bring me more kumis! *hic* "]]
* CleavageWindow: She has a wide opening for her cleavage, which goes well with her hard-drinking seductress image.
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Almost never seen without a glass of kumis in one hand and an entire jar of it in the other. Naturally, she spends most of her time drunk on her feet and constantly [[AlcoholHic hiccuping in-between her sentences]]. [[spoiler: However, her final event reveals it to be [[PlayingDrunk all a ruse]], and she's only doing it to make others drop their guard.[[labelnote:fridge brilliance]]Kumis are made mostly out of milk and usually contains only 2 percent alcohol, which explains how she seems to NeverGetsDrunk despite drinking so much.[[/labelnote]]]]
* HeroicSeductress: She's not above using her looks to charm information out of her leads. [[spoiler: This backfires on her in one of her character events, where she goes too far in charming the local (female) gang leader, who [[IfICantHaveYou becomes enraged after she rejects her advances and tries to kill her.]] Luckily Chihaya is around to bail her out.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: She is a spy, so it comes with the territory.

!East Marauders
A group of pirates comprised of members from all over the world that operates in Southeast Asia. They seem to have popped out of nowhere and is actively aggressive towards the EU presence in the region. Furthermore, their equipment and manpower far exceeds those of an ordinary pirate group, indicating the possibility of an AnonymousBenefactor behind the scenes.
----
* InfiniteSupplies: Despite their humble background, they are able to garner an impressive array of weapons and troops to put even a superpower like the EU at a pinch, and never seems to run of resources. [[spoiler: It turns out they are being funded by [[IdleRich the obscenely rich Hippolyta]], who is using them to fulfill her own ends.]]
* MultiNationalTeam: The group is made up of people from various countries, Nagamasa, Takeyoshi and Hisatada are from Zipang, Bellamy is from Britannia, Le Loi is Vietnamese, Kanom Tom is Thai, and Wang Zhi and Jianzhen are from Taika.

!!Captain Samuel Bellamy
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000095000.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: "Here comes [[TheCaptain the face of the Marauders]]!"]]
* AFatherToHisMen: She traded in her marksmanship with a devil in exchange of getting her crew out of mortal danger, and is generally always on the lookout for her men. This is the main reason why many chose to follow her.
* TheCaptain: Leader of the East Marauders. Despite not originally from the region, she is highly respected by her crew due to reason mentioned above.
* CleavageWindow: Her dress has an opening for her rather pronounced cleavage.
* DifficultButAwesome: Both of her Gun skills don't start off with the most impressive damage potential, have an awkward area of effect, and will deal [[CollateralDamage friendly fire]] to any allied units caught in the blast radius. However, if you utilize Bellamy's self-buff skills to stack multiple damage boosts on her, they will eventually reach the point of being able to cripple most enemies with a single hit.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Used to be a top class gunslinger who never missed a single shot. Unfortunately, [[InvokedTrope thanks to a curse]], her marksmanship has done a complete 180, making her shots [[AmusinglyAwfulAim always land astray from their target]].
* NonIndicativeName: Her nickname "[[RedBaron Black Sam]]" was a descriptive moniker about the historical Samuel Bellamy having long, black hair. However, this version of her has blonde hair instead, rendering the nickname somewhat odd.
* SwordAndGun: With the exception she wields an axe instead of a sword, she fits.

!!Yamada Nagamasa
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yamada_nagamasa_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:320:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000129010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* BraidsOfAction: She has her hair in four long braids that are tied in a ribbon-like shape.
* EmbarrassingButEmpoweringOutfit: She acts as the East Marauders' showgirl for their respective Arena event, and is made to don the mandatory [[PlayboyBunny bunnygirl outfit]] for the role. The suit is specially designed to enhance her strength, giving her immense combat prowess. The only problem is, it is about [[ACupAngst five sizes too big for her in the chest department]] (being originally designed for the much more well-endowed Bellamy), putting Nagamasa in constant fluster over [[WardrobeMalfunction her clothes coming loose and rendering her topless]].
* FashionableAsymmetry: Only her left arm is covered.
* IdiotHair: While she's not dumb, she has a cowlick, which is clearly seen in her bunny girl look.
* ImmigrantPatriotism: She has fully integrated herself into Ayutthaya and considers the town to be her second home. The fact that its native denizens recognizes her as one of their own, and even grants her a formal title also doesn't hurt.
* TanLines: Her bunny girl outfit shows that like Takeyoshi she's pretty tanned.

!!Murakami Takeyoshi
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/murakami_takeyoshi_full.png]]
* BoobsAndButtPose: Her standing pose is quite provocative, putting her assets on full display.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: She has blue hair and blue eyes, which goes well with her surfer motif.
* TanLines: Her damaged sprite shows she's pretty tanned.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Refers to herself by her last name.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: Dresses in a surfing swimsuit.

!!Le Loi
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/le_loi_full.png]]
* EdibleThemeClothing: Her outfit is fashioned after various ingredients commonly used in Vietnamese Pho. She even has two boiled prawns stuffed in front of her nipples.
* HealItWithWater: One of her abilities.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: She's armed with two tortoise shell-shaped shields which can block incoming attacks. Fittingly, she is also a Healing Tank typed unit in-game, capable of protecting allies while recovering their health at the same time.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: She has long black hair arranged in a side ponytail, and as her micro-bikini shows, snow white skin.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears a micro bikini made of prawns and leaves as clothing.

!!Nai Kanom Tom
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nai_kanom_tom_full.png]]
* AssKickingPose: She's standing in the typical Muay Thai stance with her right knee raised in the air.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Her hair is shaped like a bolt of lightning to correspond with her electric power.
* BoxingBattler: She's based on one of the most famous boxers in Thai history, and she lives up to her name.
* GirlishPigtails: Besides her pointy hair, she also has pigtails.
* ShockAndAwe: She fights with electrified gauntlets.

!!Wang Zhi
[[quoteright:220:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wang_zhi_full.png]]
* AbnormalAmmo: Her Hero Skill animation shows her firing giant abacus beads at her enemy.
* HighClassGlass: She wears a monocle over her right eye.
* JustifiedCriminal: She's an honest merchant [[SocietyIsToBlame driven to piracy by corrupt bureaucrats]].
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears sleeves, a top that barely covers her breasts, and a loincloth.

!!Aizu Hisatada
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aizu_hisatada_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:300:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000118010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* AnimalMotifs: The monkey. She wears a furcoat with a monkey tail and is nicknamed "Saru-no-Gozen" (Lady Monkey) by admirers for her monkey-like agility.
* AntiquatedLinguistics: She speaks like an 80-year-old woman despite looking very young.
* DevilishHairHorns: She has two prominent horn-like spikes on her hair, which are even more noticeable in her school uniform look.
* FlashStep: She's an extremely agile swordswoman, capable of leaping over long distances in an instant to close gaps between her and her opponent.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: She wields a katana as a master swordswoman from Zipang.
* WorthyOpponent: Travels the world looking for her ideal opponent. This is her main reason for joining the Marauders. [[spoiler: She finally finds one in Chihaya, [[BestHerToBedHer but not in the typical sense]].]]

!!Jianzhen
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jianzhen_full.png "I can see it... It's your future!"]]
* FacialMarkings: She has two dots right below her eyes.
* FantasticallyIndifferent: She completely rejects the idea that her continuous misfortunes may be caused the [[ObviouslyEvil blatantly malevolent spirits]] which surround her, instead regarding them as "exalted beings" that are putting her through a test of faith.
* IRejectYourReality: Whenever her "predictions" are proven wrong, she'll insist that she KnewItAllAlong and refuses to admit fault.
* ProphetEyes: Somewhat ambiguous. Her real life counterpart went blind after his 5th disastrous voyage to Japan, and her sprite does imply that she's visually impaired, although it's never been directly confirmed or denied in-game. However, the "Prophet" part is most likely a hoax on her part, given that...
** TheoryTunnelVision: While she often claims to see the future, it is blatantly obvious that she's either taking credit after the fact, or [[BlatantLies simply spouting complete rubbish]].
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With the rest of the Marauders. She was originally their prisoner, and offered to work for them to earn money so she can travel to Zipang.
** ForcedIntoEvil: Claims to be this due to circumstances mentioned above. Judging by her usual behavior however, it's more likely that she's just being opportunistic by proposing to work with the pirates.

* MarkOfTheSupernatural: One of her eyes is red and the other is green.
* MythologyGag: Her work on natural sciences is being impeded by the [[LawyerFriendlyCameo "Death/R1NG0-Star"]], an enigmatic floating sphere which appeared in front her one day, shattering her understanding of physics.

* BustContrastDuo: Les is flat, dominative and overbearing, while Char is buxom, timid and submissive.
* FashionableAsymmetry: True to their duality motif, Char wears a stocking on her left leg while Les wears it on her right leg.
* LiteralSplitPersonality / PolarOppositeTwins: Split into two individuals due to what could have been either magical shenanigans or evolutionary mishaps, with the dominative, overbearing one calling herself Les, while the timid, submissive half naming herself Char. The two consider each other sisters and act as one on the battlefield.
* TwinThreesomeFantasy: Unsurprisingly, their H-Scene is a threesome with Chihaya.

* BunnyEarsLawyer: She's a very talented writer despite her perverse leanings.
* InsaneTrollLogic: How she tries to justify her needs for indecent exposure.
* OneSteveLimit: Her second name, Jacques, is the same as Jacques de Molay of the Knights Templar. Luckily Rousseau is referred to by her last name, so there's no confusion.
* PainAndGain: Both of her support skills damage her allies while granting them a massive buff in return (up to and including a 30% increase to all of their stats).
* RenaissanceMan: Like her historical counterpart, Rousseau is not only a literary genius, but also an accomplished phytologist and opera writer, the latter of which even [[ElegantClassicalMusician Beethoven]] is impressed by.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Being both an exhibitionist and a masochist, she has no issue walking around in a bondage suit in public while looking for an excuse to expose herself, much to the dismay of many of her allies. This is very much in-line with her historical counterpart.

* MirrorCharacter: Of Beethoven. Both are {{Elegant Classical Musician}}s from the EU, but whereas Beethoven has short, somewhat messy hair, Chopin has long, flowing hair. Beethoven dresses pretty modestly while Chopin only wears lingerie, and whereas Beethoven is pretty blunt when speaking, Chopin prefers instead to use rhyming proses.
* MusicalAssassin: She deals damage by playing musical instruments in both of her forms. Her regular form uses a piano, while her schoolgirl form uses a keyboard.

* WhiteMage: All of her skills are healing spells that focus on buffing her allies.

* {{BFS}}: She wields two huge swords, greatly contrasting with the other Roman heroes.
* DualWielding: Her weapons are two huge swords.
* TheLadette: Despite being an Empress, she acts more like a rowdy sellsword, eagerly throwing herself into scuffles and speaks in a crude and rough manner, in stark contrast to the far more gentle [[HairOfGoldHeartOfGold Caesar]].
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: She's the Roman Empress (from the alternate dimension) who's also a powerful swordfighter, often personally participating in gladiatorial events to entertain the masses, and always comes out on top.
* {{Underboobs}}: Her top doesn't cover the lower part of her breasts.

* OneSteveLimit: She has the same first name as Nicholas Copernicus, but luckily Copernicus is referred to by her last name, so no confusion.

* BandagedFace: Downplayed but her left eye is covered by a bandage, just like the real Jan Zizka.
* FlowerMotifs: Flowers in general. She's always making analogs about flowers in her dialogue as well.
* PoweredArmor: Her Atlantis Armor form pilots a set of powered armor similar to the one used by [[RobotGirl Atlas]].

* WalkingSwimsuitScene: In her Atlantis Armor look she wears a white swimsuit just like the one Atlas uses.

!!Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/johann_wolfgang_von_goethe_full.png]]
* DeathOrGloryAttack: Her Hero Skill applies the Berserk status to all allied and enemy units present, which doubles both the amount of damage they deal and receive, amplifying the RocketTagGameplay aspect of the combat by turning everyone into [[GlassCannon Glass Cannons]].
* HighClassGlass: Just like Wang Zhi and Gauss, she wears a monocle over her right eye.
* OjouRinglets: She has some pretty curly hair that brings to mind the style.
* OneSteveLimit: Her very first name is the same as Faust's, Johann. Luckily, both are identified by their more famous last names, so there's no confusion.

* MasterPoisoner: An expert at crafting and applying poisons to secure her victory.

* TheChessmaster: True to her real life counterpart, she's adept at manipulating people, whether those above her or below.
* CleavageWindow: She has a wide opening for her breasts, which are barely covered by black cloth.
* FemmeFatale: She fits this bill very well, being an attractive woman who dresses provocatively while also knowing exactly which buttons to press for people to meet her goals, and always have a trick up her sleeve to catch her enemies off-guard. This trait carries over to gameplay as well, as her seemingly unimpressive Hero Skill can end up dealing a ton of damage thanks to her packing one of the highest magical attack ratings in the game.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Her right eye is covered by her hair both in her regular form and schoolgirl form.
* LadyDrunk: She's an excellent brewer of wine and often indulges in her own supplies.
* MarionetteMaster: Her combat sprite shows her manipulating puppet soldiers on strings.

!!Aterui
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aterui_full.png]]
* CountryMouse: Originating from the northern region of Ezo, she finds herself awed by the glamours of Kyoto. Not helped by her own tendency to worship Kyotoites and anything "from the city".

* NatureLover: Fiercely protective of native animals, and has a hardline attitude towards poachers.

* {{Chuunibyou}}: Her overly flavored speech indicates she's this.
* DualityMotif: She's divided between Heaven and Hell, just like her most famous work. She also willfully switches back and forth from her melodramatic way of speaking to a timid schoolgirl tone whenever it's convenient for her.
* ForcedFromTheirHome: She was falsely accused by [[GreenEyedMonster an unscrupulous novelist disgruntled at Dante's success]], causing her to lose much of her earnings and even her home, prompting the disillusioned Dante to move to [[IslandOfMisfitEverything Australia]]. Fortunately, with the help of Chihaya and [[FireForgedFriends Joan]], she's able to exact justice upon her perpetrator during a revisit to her hometown.
* GoodWingsEvilWings: Has one angelic wing and one demonic wing spouting from her back. However...
** WingsDoNothing: Unlike [[WingedHumanoid Joan]], these wings are actually just cosplay accessories donned to satisfy her {{Chuunibyou}} desires. She can legitimately levitate off the ground, but it's probably done via magic rather than having anything to do with the wings.
* LongHairIsFeminine: Her hair is so long it reaches her knees, and either in her default outfit or as a school girl she's pretty girly.
* PointyEars: Her ears are pointy, which goes well with her infernal motifs.

* GoingNative: Her rather revealing attire is the result of her adapting Egyptian fashion during her time there as the Macedonian emissary. She does it again for her alternate costume, donning a Yukata for the Zipangese New Year festival.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears a semi-transparent gown.

* EyesAlwaysShut: Her eyes always appear closed, even in her damaged sprite. Opens them when she is in her "awakened" state.
* FashionableAsymmetry: She only wears a legging on her left leg.
* {{Sleepwalking}}: Due to her powers, she spends a majority of her time like this in the real world.
* TheStoryteller: Like her [[Literature/ArabianNights original incarnation]], she has many tales to tell, and will often deliver them to people in their dreams.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her nightgown and micro-panties are barely keeping her private parts from being shown.

* BarelyThereSwimwear: While there are a number of heroines who received skimpy swimsuits as their alternate costume, Catherine's set is particularly egregious, being effectively just strings which barely keep her assets concealed.
* BreakoutCharacter: She stands out by being the only character introduced in ''War Wonder'' who gets three alternate costumes, courtesy of her coming first in the 2nd Anniversary Popularity Poll.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: In contrast to the rather flat Ivan, Catherine has some impressive melons that are barely contained by her clothes.
* CleavageWindow: Her bunny girl costume has a wide opening for her cleavage.
* GuileHero: Coming from an alternate world ravaged by war, she quickly learned to resolve conflicts diplomatically, and is keen to get acquainted with individuals she deems worthy to foster useful relationships with them.
* OneSteveLimit: She has the same name as Catherine de Medici, so they're referred to by their epithets to differentiate.
* RegalRinglets: She also has a pair to remind us she's one of the rulers of Russia.
* StaffOfAuthority: Empress of Russia and she carries a golden staff, right between her breasts.
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: Starts out this way when she was summoned into [[HiddenElfVillage the Fairy Village]] from her own dimension. After spending enough time here however, she grew attached to her new home [[spoiler: and refuses Brynhildr's offer to return her to her world. [[LaserGuidedAmnesia This does not end well.]]]]

!!Vasilisa
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vasilisa_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:320:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vasilisa_maid_full.png]][[/labelnote]]
* BraidsOfAction: She has a pair of long braids that reach her legs, and she's a capable hero fighter.
* CovertPervert: While shy and reserved outwardly, she constantly throws out HurricaneOfEuphemisms and is clearly just as perverted as her fellow Russians.
* IdiotHair: She has two prominent cowlicks and she's not as good at hiding her thoughts as she thinks.
* ShrinkingViolet: She's very withdrawn and bashful. However, [[UncannyValleyGirl her dark side shines through]] when she snarks at others (mostly [[AllMenArePerverts Chihaya]]) using ventriloquism while pretending it's coming from one of her Matryoshka dolls.

!!Snegurochka
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snegurochka_full.png]]
* AnIcePerson: She was a snowman turned to life by Nicholas, giving her ice powers.
* BraidsOfAction: A very long and elegant braid, and like most heroes capable of action.
* IcyBlueEyes: She has dark blue and light blue eyes and she's a living snow person.
* MeaningfulAppearance: She has snowflakes on her dress and has a headpiece shaped like a snowflake, all to indicate her connection to snow and her status as a former snowman.

!!Lybid
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lybid_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:320:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000152010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* AmbiguouslyHuman: She has a giant flower shape in the side of her head, and it's unclear whether that's an actual flower, a peculiarly braided hairstyle, or ''a part of her head''. Given that she lived a majority of her life in the [[HiddenElfVillage fairy village]], and said shape's apparent ability to "sprout" when she gets over-excited, it could be any of the above.
* GenkiGirl: Always energetic and [[FunPersonified looking to enjoy herself]].
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Uses a skipping rope as her weapon of choice in her schoolgirl form. Said rope also acts as an ImprovisedLightningRod that will zap both her and her enemies when activated in battle.
* MythologyGag: In the original mythology, Lybid was a princess who ran away from home to escape from an unwanted ArrangedMarriage. In ''War Wonder'' however, she runs away from her home '''to''' get married to Chihaya, so she can stay with him and continue to have fun.
* OrcRaisedByElves: She was brought to [[HiddenElfVillage the Fairy Village]] at a young age and raised by its magical populace. While the Russians aren't really evil per say, their NightmareFetishist habits are viewed by the fairies as unsavory and savage, creating this dichotomy. Unfortunately, it seems this leaning runs InTheBlood, as the sheltered Lybid immediately takes liking to the Russian "recreational activities" upon being introduced to them.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Only refers to herself as "Lily".
* TokenMiniMoe: She's the youngest looking and smallest of all of Russia's heroines.
* TooKinkyToTorture: She enjoys pain just as much as Rasputin and will actively seek it out. Given her GenkiGirl traits, it's somewhat unsettling to witness.

!!Daikokuya Kodayu
[[quoteright:220:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daikokuya_kodayu_full.png]]
* GirlishPigtails: She has her hair in two braided pigtails.
* LittleBitBeastly: She has dog ears and a tail.
* UnexplainedRecovery: Pulls this off frequently with Rurik unwittingly squeezing out her innards on a regular basis. Possibly an acquired power from living in Russia for so long.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Despite (or perhaps [[WorldOfWeirdness because of]]) having lived in Russia for so long, she seems to be totally oblivious to its various deranged aspects, never fazed by her fellow denizens' NightmareFetishist tendencies, or her own [[RasputinianDeath inexplicable ability to survive puking internal organs out of her throat.]]

!!Rurik
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rurik_full.png]]
* AndCallHimGeorge: She loves to give Kodayu hugs out of affection. Unfortunately, this always end up with her squishing out Kodayu's internal organs through her throat [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength as a result of Rurik's tight grip.]]
* AnimalMotifs: Wolves, which contrasts with Kodayu's dog motif, she's even accompanied by a wolf.
* BadassCape: She wears an impressive fur-lined white and red cape.
* RetiredBadass: She is Ivan's predecessor, and was apparently an even more ruthlessly efficient ruler than her. Nowadays she mostly hangs out in St. Petersburg with her [[PetTheDog "pet" Kodayu]], but can still be relied upon to kick ass if needs be.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears a tiny black leotard and a cape to cover her body.
* WolverineClaws: She wears clawed gauntlets.

!Prestopia
!!Prester John
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prester_john_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:220:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000136010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* HurricaneOfPuns: Her dialogue is full of fish puns.
* ImpossiblyLowNeckline: Her mini-dress does a terrible job at preventing her breasts from almost spilling over.
* TheKlutz: She's very accident-prone and has a habit of tripping over things.
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: She's accompanied by a Fugu who serves as her adjutant. Although "loyal" may be debatable here, since it constantly bullies her into going along with the finizens' plans by blowing water into her face.
* OneSteveLimit: Her name is the same as Johnny Appleseed and John Hawkwood, but since she's referred to by her full name and the latter two are referred to by their last names, there's no confusion.
* ReluctantRuler: She fell into the ocean and was discovered by a school of fish, who hailed her as their ruler to save their collapsing nation. However, John doesn't really have the capability (or much interest) to govern her submerged kingdom, and is pretty much just pressganged into accepting whatever plan the finizens come up with.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Despite being an ordinary human, she's somehow able to understand and communicate with her fishy subjects.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Refers to herself as "PJ" in the Japanese script.
* WaterGunsAndBalloons: Uses a water pistol as her main weapon.

!!Saint Brendan
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brendan_of_clonfert_full.png]]
* ElementalHairColors: She wields water magic and she has blue hair.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Just like John, she can understand the language of Prestopia's marine denizens, and is able to communicate with them in human tongue.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her top is barely keeping her breasts from popping out, and she's not wearing much more besides it.
* WaterIsWomanly: She wields water magic and her body sure is womanly, in contrast to the more childish PJ.

!Libertalia
!!Captain Klaus Stortebeker
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/klaus_stortebeker_full.png]]
* TheAlcoholic: Lives to drink. Never seen without a bottle or a keg on hand.
* AlcoholHic: Unsurprising given she's drunk most of the time. She also slurs her words quite a lot.
* TheCaptain: Of the Libertalia Pirates.
* DrunkenMaster: She fights by tossing liquor bottles at her enemies and buffing herself with alcohol.
* LargeAndInCharge: Inverted, she's the smallest among all of the Libertalia pirates while serving as their leader.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She has nothing covering her lower half save for a pair of panties.
* TokenMiniMoe: For the Libertalia pirates, despite being their leader.

!!Harald Fairhair
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harald_full.png]]
* ImpossiblyLowNeckline: Her top is barely keeping her breasts from popping out.
* JoustingLance: Besides her hair, Harald also wields a red and white jousting lance.
* TheLancer: A literal example. She's the lance-wielding deputy to Stortebeker, serving as Libertalia's second-in-command. Also crosses over into BigGuyLittleGuy.
* MinidressOfPower: She wears a miniskirt which barely covers her crotch, while also possessing an absurdly high magical attack rating.
* PrehensileHair: Just like Enkidu, Harald's massive locks can be used as weapons.
* RedBaron: She is known as "the Fairhaired King" among friends and foes alike.

!!Tsuruhime
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tsuruhime_full.png]]
* CombatHandFan: She wields a giant paper fan in conjunction with her ornate great spear while in battle.
* HeadPet: She has a bird/crane clinging to her head.
* {{Ojou}}: She embodies this trope, being a very courteous and proper young lady.
* TokenMinority: She's from Zipang in a group of European vikings.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Africa]]
!Egypt
* [[PlanetOfHats Nation of Hats]]: With the exception of Cambyses, all of Egypt's heroes are defined by their devotion to Tutankhamun.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: With the exception of Tutankhamun herself, ''all'' of Egypt's heroes are barely clothed.

!!Hunefer
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hunefer_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:280:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hunefer_swimsuit_full.png]][[/labelnote]]
* AllCheeringAllTheTime: She's the most active out of all of Tutankhamun's vassals and spends a majority of her time propagating the Khamun fan club.
* AnimateDead: Her connection to the afterlife has granted her power over the dead, which she uses to recruit them into the Egyptian army... [[InstantFanClub and the Khamun fan club]].
* KillerRabbit: Implied. Her crocodile companion is just as much into Khamun worshipping as she is, often dancing with her in battle while waving glow sticks like a goofy groupie. It is also named [[JudgementOfTheDead Ammit]], and based on the Egyptians' past history with charming their gods, it may very well be the eponymous [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Devourer of the Dead]] herself.
* TheMedic: Her role in the Egyptian army. She can channel (un)life energies by calling upon her love for Tutankhuman. Essentially, she heals her allies by [[PomPomGirl doing cheerleading]].
* MotorMouth: Speaks in a very rapid and excited tone and rarely slows down.
* NonHumanSidekick: She has a white crocodile who fights (and cheerleads) alongside her in battle.
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: She's actually an undead who had passed away long ago, but was apparently "resurrected by [her] love for Khamun" while in [[TheUnderworld Duat]]. This claim appears to hold some water, since she's capable of reopening gates to Duat when she merely carries out her worship of Tutankhamun.
* ProductPlacement: In-Universe. Her swimsuit form carries a handbag plastered with Tutankhamun-branded merchandise as a way to promote the pharaoh and her fan club.
* RidiculouslyAliveUndead: She looks and acts like a normal living person, which contrasts with the blue-skinned, otherworldly-looking Scorpion.

!!Thutmose
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thutmose_full.png]]
* CarryABigStick: Uses a giant spiked club as her weapon.
* CoolBigSis: Tries to act as this to Tutankhamun, although many (read: non-Egyptians) would agree that she's being a tad too overprotective and clingy in her pursuit of said image.
* GirlishPigtails: She has her hair in two incredibly long pigtails.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Her hair covers her right eye.
* LongLostRelative: She's convinced that she's the older sister of Tutankhamun.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: She's able to use her giant weapon to its full potential despite her relatively petite stature, granting her one of the highest magical attack ratings in the game.
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: She's an undead who came back from the beyond just like Hunefer.
** RidiculouslyAliveUndead: And like Hunefer, she looks and acts like a living human being. Her innards are also apparently "still warm" due to her having died a lot more recently than the former.

!!Imhotep
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/imhotep_full.png]]
* AnimalMotifs: The ibis, as she wears an impressive ibis-themed hat.
* BigEgoHiddenDepths: To be fair, her depths are fairly easy to see, but she's still pretty egotistical when speaking about her talents (provided she's not currently doting over Tutankhamun).
* BunnyEarsLawyer: When she's not acting like a [[StalkerWithACrush creepy stalker]] towards Tutankhamun, she's a brilliant architect who's also well-versed in the field of medicine.
* DepravedBisexual: Implied. While she's firmly [[SingleTargetSexuality set in her way towards Tutankhamun]], she doesn't appear to mind having sex with Chihaya, and even seems somewhat receptive towards the idea.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: She is the Egyptian hero entrusted to watch over the seal of [[SealedEvilInACan Osiris]]. However, due to a combination of the seal's influence and her own twisted obssession towards Tutankhamun, Imhotep now possesses eldritch powers that rival even the sealed beast she's in charge of, and can unleash them freely in battle.
* LoonyFan: While most of Tutankhamun's vassals are pretty obsessed with her already, Imhotep really takes it up to another level, often indulging in deluded fantasies involving doing various things with "my sweet Khamun", and frequently attempting to carry them out to calamitous results, [[DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale with Chihaya often being on the receiving end of her ploys]].
* LovePotion: Constantly trying brew one to satiate her lust over Tutankhamun. Unfortunately for Chihaya, the essential ingredient for her recipe often ends up having to come from him, leading to [[DateRape disastrously amorous results as Imhotep attempts to extract it from him]].
* MysticalWhiteHair: She's an ancient hero of Egypt and sports rather prominent white hair that contrasts well with her skin tone and outfit.
** WhiteHairBlackHeart: Apart from her [[LoonyFan deranged stalker tendencies]], she also harbors dark powers which are extremely dangerous if left unchecked (see HeWhoFightsMonsters above).

!!Scorpion
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scorpion_full.png]]
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Unlike every other character in the game, she has pale blue skin.
* BewareMyStingerTail: Not really a tail, but her braid is in the position and ends with a stinger.
* BraidsOfAction: Besides having six small braids, the longest one also doubles as a scorpion tail, stinger and all.
* ExtraEyes: Like a real scorpion, she has four smaller eyes over her normal ones.
* MasterPoisoner / PoisonousPerson: Unsurprisingly, all of her attacks are poison-based, and she's one of the few characters who can inflict [[DamageOverTime Toxin]] on the enemy.
* OddNameOut: The only Egyptian character who doesn't have an Egyptian name.
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: Like Hunefer, she was brought back from the dead as some form of undead creature, powered exclusively by her fervor towards worshipping Tutankhamun.
* ScorpionPeople: Clearly she's one, albeit lacking pincers.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:North America]]
!The USA
!!Amerigo Vespucci
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amerigo_vespucci_full.png]]
* AnimalMotifs: Bees. Not only does she dress in yellow and black, she even has HairAntennae that resembles those of a bee's.
* DressedLikeADominatrix: She's essentially a bee-themed dominatrix, whip and all.
* TheFashionista: She's the owner of the Amerigo Brand, a conglomerate dealing in fashion goods, and she personally designs a lot of their merchanises.
* ImprobableHairstyle: She also has a pair of impressive OjouRinglets that turn into drills.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: Her Hero Skill has her launching a barrage of missiles at her targets.
* WhipOfDominance: She also wields a whip, fitting for her dominatrix image.

!!Johnny Appleseed
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/johnny_appleseed_full.png "An apple a day keeps the bad things away!"]]
[[caption-width-right:200:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000125010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Her red hair is shaped like an apple, and she even has a cowlick with a leaf on it.
* EarthyBarefootCharacter: She walks around everywhere barefooted. Justified as she can tell the condition of the soil from just how the earth feels beneath her feet.
* EdibleThemeClothing: Her alternate costume is a bikini made out of ''apple pies''.
* OneSteveLimit: She has the same name as John Hawkwood, but since they're both referred to by their last names, there's no confusion.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Hair red as an apple and eyes green like leaves.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: ''Take a wild guess.'' She believes that apples are omnipotent, and has genuinely achieved some improbable feats with the fruit.

!!Benjamin Franklin
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/benjamin_franklin_full.png [[GratuitousEnglish "It's all good!"]]]]
* {{Engrish}}: As with Perry, her voicelines will often mix in mangled English phrases, although with less swearing than the former.
* FlagBikini: Her damaged sprite reveals her American flag underwear.
* ScienceFantasy: Her character design is noticeably much more sci-fi inspired rather than the Animesque Medieval Fantasy style used for most other characters.
* ShockAndAwe: She manipulates electricity as her main offensive ability. Judging by her combat sprite however, she often [[HoistByHisOwnPetard gets herself caught in the blast as well.]]

!!Jesse James
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jesse_james_full.png]]
* AscendedExtra: She began as an NPC unit who fights alongside Billy the Kid.
* EagerRookie: She's somewhat new to the outlaw game and looks up to Billy, whom she sees as a CoolBigSis and harbors a lot of (some may say [[HorribleJudgeOfCharacter misplaced]]) respect for.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: While she acts like a rowdy outlaw, she is in fact a woman of the people, often giving to the poor by spending her earnings in the slums. It helps that a lot of her earnings come from [[JustLikeRobinHood illegitimate incomes confiscated from]] [[CorruptBureaucrat corrupt bureaucrats]] and the like.
* HotBlooded: She is every bit as aggressive and straight-forward as Billy when it comes to her work, always choosing to solve problems via direct action.
* HyperCompetentSidekick: Unlike the rather [[BookDumb dim-witted Billy]] who just wants to impulsively wreck havoc with her InsaneTrollLogic shenanigans, Jesse is a very reliable heroine who knows how to get things done quick and proper. Columbus even secretly remarks that "She'd be a flawless heroine, if not for her blind over-trust of Billy."
* MoreDakka: Fires a barrage of bullets at her enemies when in battle.
* OfCorsetsSexy: She wears a pink and black corset with a money symbol on the side.

!Indies
!!Leif Eriksson
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leif_erikson_full.png]]
* HeadPet: She has a blue bird on her head.
* ImmigrantPatriotism: She's a viking from Europe who came to the USA and now she fights for the Indies.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Her attitude towards [[HeroicComedicSociopath Billy]], as a result of the various misdeeds the latter has committed against the indigenous tribes she's friendly with.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: She wears a yellow bikini underneath her blue coat.
* WeaponSpecialization: She wields a long spear tipped like a harpoon.

!!Thorfinn Karlsefni
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thorfinn_full.png]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Despite her matronly demeanor, she's perfectly competent at kicking the ass of anyone who dare to cross her.
* HappyFunBall: She wields a rather plasticky spiked club which looks more like baby toy than an actual weapon. But if her stats are anything to go by, she can still deal significant damage with it despite its unassuming appearance.
* IdiotHair: She has a prominent cowlick that curves backwards.
* MommasBoy: Constantly tries to inflict this on Chihaya (and other characters, to a much lesser extent).
* RedheadInGreen: Her outfit is mostly green and she has orange hair.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:South America]]
!Azteca
!!Cuauhtemóc
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cuauhtemoc_full.png]]
* AscendedExtra: Previously a random NPC unit faced during the Azteca campaign in ''World Conquest''.
* BeautifulAllAlong: Meta example. Her oversized headgear covers her hair and most of her forehead, making her look rather unappealing buried under all those plumes. However, her H-scene CG reveals her to be quite the looker once the helmet is off.
* BigLittleSister: Cousin example, but she's taller and older looking than Montezuma.
* BigSisterWorship: She greatly admires her cousin Montezuma.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears an elaborate plume, a top and a skirt.
* WeaponSpecialization: She wields a spear that's tipped with an obsidian stone.

!Conquistadors
!!Hernan Cortes
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hernan_cortes_full.png]]
* DreadfulMusician: Aspires to be an idol singer. Unfortunately, she doesn't realize that delivering your singing via a loudspeaker at max volume is not the best way to win over fans...
* LoudOfWar: Unwittingly manipulated into this by her SmugSnake companion, who weaponizes her deafening singing technique for military and personal gains.
* SuperGullible: She's easily tricked into committing atrocities by Pizarro, with the latter using the [[BlatantLies flimsiest excuse]] to get her to [[LoudOfWar unleash her voice]].

!!Francisco Pizarro
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/francisco_pizarro_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000103010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* AllTakeAndNoGive: She's probably one of the most selfish heroines in the game, even more so than [[AttentionWhore Nero]]. She only cares about personal gains and will not hesitate to manipulate or harm anyone to achieve it.
** CastFromHitPoints: This carries onto her [[GameplayandStoryIntegration in-game abilities as well,]] as her offensive capabilities will remain comically low unless you utilize her skill to [[DivertingPower buff her stats by sacrificing her teammates]].
* {{BFG}}: Carries a bazooka-styled missile launcher as her main weapon, which is used to inflict FatalFireworks upon her enemies.
* GoldFever: Much like the real life conquistador. Both of her costumes are adorned with so much gold that some of it have began to practically melt.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Her objectivist philosophy places her firmly in this position, and she's often at odds with the rest of the heroines with her MO of being 100% driven by self-interest.

!Vinland Pirate Corps
!!Grace O'Malley
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/grace_omalley_full.png]]
* AndNowYouMustMarryMe: In her H-scene, Chihaya goes to her room and finds her masturbating to him. When she catches him, Grace demands he marry her to restore her honor.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The redhead to Kidd's blonde and Drake's brunette (Teach has dark purple hair and Alwilda has pink hair instead).
* BraidsOfAction: She has two long braids that match Geronimo's in length, and she's a certified PirateGirl.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Her helms skills are disastrous and will often lead to her obliviously crashing the ship. Despite this however, [[SuicidalOverconfidence Grace considers her steering to be perfectly fine]], and her overconfidence causes no end of trouble to her allies.
* EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo: She is the assigned deputy to [[ReluctantRuler William Kidd]], acting as the [[GirlyBruiser upbeat and go-getter first mate]] to the [[LovableCoward timid and easily-frightened pirate corps captain]]. Unfortunately, Grace's recklessness and SuicidalOverconfidence will often land both of them in hot water.
* OjouRinglets: She has a pair on the sides of her hair, which represents her status as a former noblewoman.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: She carries a giant cannon that is easily twice her size into battle, and is able to hold it up with nothing but her own two arms and uses it like a gun.
* RebelliousPrincess: Daughter of a Britannian noble, she ran away from home to become a pirate in order to forge her own path.
* RedheadInGreen: Intense red hair and her outfit is green.
* SpoiledBrat: Has shades of this due to her lofty upbringing. Although at times it's more of a InnocentlyInsensitive.
* VaporWear: The plunging neckline on her outfit shows she's not wearing a bra.

!!Sir Ector de Maris
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ector_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:280:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]] https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ector_swimsuit_full.png]] [[/labelnote]]
* GirlishPigtails: She has some pretty long twintails.
* JustAStupidAccent: She speaks with a thick French accent, often mixing in a "le" in the middle of her sentences.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Wielding her morningstar flail to great and devastating effects despite her diminutive size.
* RoseHairedSweetie: She has pink hair and is a pretty nice person.

!!Sir Dinadan
[[quoteright:270:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dinadan_full.png]]
* AutomaticCrossbows: She wields a repeating magical crossbow as her weapon of choice.
* BigBeautifulWoman: She's rather chubby, but still quite cute.
* BigEater: She's quite the glutton and can't resist food if there's any around her, making her an easy friend with [[ExtremeOmnivore Lancelot]].
* GirlishPigtails: She has her hair in two pigtails and she's not exactly the most mature.
* HalfWittedHillbilly: She can sometimes act like a country bumpkin due to her peasantry background. This tends to stick out when she's next to more elegant characters like Gawain or Arthur.
* InterclassFriendship: With most of the Round Table Knights, since she rose from the commoner rank.
* SweetTooth: She's very fond of desserts and snacks (which are the only parts of [[ForeignQueasine Britannian cuisine]] that's palatable to people with reasonable tastes).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Other Factions]]
!Knights Templar
* ChurchMilitant: They are literally the Knights Templar, so in theory it's what they do.
* HeelFaceReturn: Meta example. They were first introduced in ''Gold'' as the villianous faction who sets off the main plot. In ''War Wonder'' however, they work for the EU to fight against the encroaching Elpis forces, and are [[spoiler: secretly employed by Mu to safeguard the City of Ys]].
* MultinationalTeam: Like their inspiration, they all come from different countries; Payens, de Molay and Bartholomew are French, Tancred is Italo-Norman, Georgios is Capadoccian Greek and Elias is Sicilian.

!!Hugues de Payens
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hugues_de_payens_full.png]]
* TheGadfly: She retains the sardonic personality from her previous incarnation, and enjoys teasing people (mostly Chihaya) for her own amusements.
* InTheHood: Still wearing her signature black and white Templar hood.
* JackOfAllTrades: She has a good assortment of damage, healing/self-healing and debuff skills. Coupled with her [[JackOfAllStats balanced stats]], this makes her a highly versalite unit suitable for most matchups.
* OnlySaneMan: Despite her gadfly tendencies, when compared to de Molay's [[TheEeyore extreme pessimism]], Tancred's [[AttackAttackAttack recklessness]], Georgios' [[SingleIssueWonk dragon-killing obsession]], Elias' [[ShrinkingViolet shyness]] and Batholomew's [[CloudCuckoolander hyperactivity]], Payens is easily the most competent and serious of the bunch.
* PromotedToPlayable: Introduced in ''GOLD'' as an enemy, she becomes playable here.
* TokenWholesome: She's the most modestly dressed of the Knights Templar, and even her damaged sprite doesn't show anything naughty.

!!Jacques de Molay
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jacques_de_molay_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:220:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jacques_de_molay_valentine_full.png]] [[/labelnote]]
* TheEeyore: Constantly gloomy and sighing, and has a generally pessimistic outlook on life.
* HonestJohnsDealership: She runs the Templars' financial institute which offers banking and insurance services. While it is a legitimate business, she's not above coaxing potential clients into ludicrously expensive insurance schemes which will come back to bite them in the butt ([[TheChewToy as poor Tristan finds out the hard way]]).
* TheMedic: All of her skills (barring the regular attack) are healing spells.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her robe is open to show her cleavage, and all the way to her panties.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Not that she's unattractive in her regular outfit, but her Valentine look highlights her prettiness and she even looks happier.

!!Georgios
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/georgios_full.png]]
* BlingOfWar: She wears an ornate golden armor themed after dragons.
* GirlishPigtails: While not particularly girly, she has the style with blue ribbons.
* GoThroughMe: She has very high defense and HP. Coupled with the new guard mechanic introduced for ''War Wonder'' [[note]]which allows characters who have the appropriate skill to take hits for their allies[[/note]], this makes her an excellent tank who can shield teammates from danger.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: She has orange hair and green eyes and she's one of the most famous dragon slayers in the world.
* SingleIssueWonk: Obsessed with dragonslaying and anything to do with it. Bringing up the word "dragon" while in the same general area as Georgios, and chances are she will pop right up out of nowhere to go on a maniacal tirade about her dragon-killing records.
* WeaponBasedCharacterization: An ornate golden spear with a dragon design, which fits her role as a dragon slayer.

!!Tancred
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tancred_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: "Knights Templar Archer Brigade, charge forth!"]]
[[caption-width-right:320:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tancred_uniform_full.png]] [[/labelnote]]
* AttackAttackAttack: Obsessed with charging enemy lines. Given that she commands a brigade of archers who are ill-fitted for close-range combat, this naturally causes much woe among her underlings and superiors alike.
* BoobsAndButtPose: Her school girl look displays her assets in this position.
* CastFromHitPoints: Fitting for someone who charges blindly into the fray, most of her skills will either deal damage to herself, or an unfortunate ally who [[CollateralDamage got caught in the crossfire]].
* ComicalOverreacting: Tancred tends to take things at face value, and her habit of solving every problem through brute force ([[AttackAttackAttack mainly by charging at said problem]]) causes constant headaches to [[OnlySaneMan Payens]].
* DrillSergeantNasty: Towards her subordinates, although in this case it's due to her single-minded focus on charging the enemy, rather than deliberately trying to put her troops through TrainingFromHell.
* GoingCommando: Her otherwise covering outfit has an opening for her crotch that shows she's not wearing anything underneath. Her school girl costume shows she's wearing black panties instead.
* HonorBeforeReason: She regards firing upon the enemy from afar to be cowardly and remarks that "the world hates a sniper who camps", which is why she always rushes in throwing caution to the wind.
* LeeroyJenkins : She has no patience for military tactics and will lead a charge directly into enemy formation the moment the battle breaks out ([[TheWhyWaitCombatant or sometimes even when it hasn't]]). Payens specifically reassigned her to the archer brigade as an attempt to cure her bad habit. '''[[FromBadToWorse It doesn't help]]'''.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: She noticeably has intense red eyes, which goes well with her headstrong and borderline reckless way of acting.

!!Elias
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elias_full.png]]
* AnimalMotifs: The swan.
* ApologeticAttacker: Has a habit of doing this in combat.
* MinidressOfPower: She wears a ballerina-esque minidress while wielding a giant scythe. Fittingly, she also has a very high attack rating to go with it.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her suit is open all the way past her navel.
* ShrinkingViolet: She's extremely timid and withdrawn.
* SinisterScythe: Her weapon of choice is a huge silver scythe.

!!Peter Bartholomew
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peter_bartholomew_full.png]]

* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Will often receive revelations in her dreams. However, her interpretation of said visions can often be somewhat warped and difficult for others to understand.
** AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Tied with the above trait, she will often get distracted in battle from detecting nearby buried relic, and goes to dig them up instead of attacking the enemy... [[AchievementsInIgnorance who gets hit by the spears she manages to dig up anyway]].
* CuteButCacophonic: She's very talkative and tends to go on bizarre tangents when conversing with others.
* GenkiGirl: She's hyperactive almost all the time, even when she's not feeling well.
* GirlishPigtails: She has her hair in two long pigtails, while in her yukata look she wears it in a single long pigtail.
* GoingNative: She adapts the Zipangnese Yukata as part of the New Year festival celebration.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: She has orange hair and green eyes and she's in charge of finding relics.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Refers to herself as "Peter" in the Japanese script.
* TokenMiniMoe: For the Knights Templar, being the youngest and most innocent looking.

!Landsknecht
* PrivateMilitaryContractors: Like the historical mercenary group, they participate in battles all over Europe and will fight against any nation depending on who's currently paying.
** OnlyInItForTheMoney: They charge by the hour and will not hesitate to clock out and leave the moment their contract expires, as [[IdleRich Marie]] [[BreakTheHaughty finds out the hard way]].

!!Albrecht von Wallenstein
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/albrecht_von_wallenstein.png]]
* ConsummateProfessional: She's strictly about business and does not attach herself too much with what happens on the battlefield.
* FashionableAsymmetry: One half of her LeotardOfPower is covered with various pieces of clothing, while the other half is left unadorned.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Her hair covers her left eye, fitting for her flip-flopping tendencies.
* PointyEars: Her ears are rather pointy.
* WeaponSpecialization: Wields a giant halberd in battle.

!!Götz von Berlichingen
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gotz_von_berlichingen_full.png]]
* AmbiguouslyBrown: She has pink hair and dark skin, but unlike with Rostam or Takeyoshi, there's no indication those are tan-lines.
* ArtificialLimbs: Her right arm has been replaced with a spiked mace.
* FashionableAsymmetry: Due to her artificial arm, only her left arm is covered.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears lingerie, a fluffy skirt and a large hat.

!!John Hawkwood
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/john_hawkwood_full.png]]
* BatterUp: Her weapon is a massive wooden baseball bat.
* FriendlyRivalry: With [[BaseballEpisode Magellan]], since she's the batter to her pitcher.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Her left eye is slightly concealed behind her bangs.
* OneSteveLimit: She has the same name as Johnny Appleseed, but since they're both referred to by their last names, there's no confusion.

!!Odoacer
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/odoacer_full.png "Bountiful bosoms for a bountiful life!"]]
* ACupAngst: Angsts over her own deficiency in the department, and will fanatically grope well-endowed heroines whenever she sees them, much to their chagrin.
* BustContrastDuo: To everyone else in Landsknecht, as she's the only flat-chested heroine among her well-endowed peers. She will also deliberately invoke this trope whenever she's working with a busty ally.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: Worships ample breasts zealously, and will seize any opportunity to fondle the nearest pair available to an obnoxious degree.

!Pandora
* MultinationalTeam: Just like the Dingir.Ra and the Einherjar, the members of Pandora come from all over the world; Pandora and Hippolyta are Greek, Takiyasha is from Zipang, Taishang from Taika, Heyoka is Sioux, Cath Palug is Welsh and Taliesin is Britannian.

!!Pandora (Alternate World)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pandora_another_world_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000303030.png]][[/labelnote]]
* AlternateSelf: Coming from an alternate world than the Pandora Chihaya's familiar with, thus her younger appearance.
* GirlishPigtails: Her style has some twin tails, which fits her pure and innocent demeanor.
* EveryonesBabySister: Adored by everyone as the little sister of the group, including the original Pandora.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness: Unlike the original Pandora, she's not affected by her [[ArtifactOfDoom Pandora's Box]], and is immune from the OneWingedAngel-inducing power of the Negative Energy it stores.
* SupportPartyMember: She's one of the few units in the game who has no offensive capabilities, relying purely on her [[StatusAilment debuff spells]] to assist her allies in battle.

!!Hippolyta
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hippolyta_full.png]]
* AscendedExtra: She began as a (non-human) NPC faced during one of Hercules' events in the first game.
* ChainmailBikini: The only thing she wears is a golden bikini.
* MasterArcher: Her arrows hit true and hard. Justified as she is an Ancient Hero, on top of also being queen of [[ProudHunterRace the Amazons]].
* SignificantWhiteHairDarkSkin: She has long pale blonde hair that turns sky blue at the tips and her complexion is darker than the other Greek heroes, and she's a prominent member of Pandora [[spoiler:and the secret sponsor of the East Marauders]].
* TheTeamBenefactor: Turns out to be [[spoiler:the AnonymousBenefactor who is funding the East Marauders in the South Seas Campaign.]]

!!Princess Takiyasha
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/princess_takiyasha_full.png]]
* FashionableAsymmetry: She only wears a stocking and a sleeve on her left side.
* HornedHumanoid: She has a pair of small horns on her forehead.
* IWantMyMommy: Separated from her mother due to dimensional shenanigans, she misses her mother dearly until she is able to find comfort with Chihaya.
* {{Necromancer}}: Implied. In her original mythology, Princess Takiyasha is a dark sorceress who's capable of [[DemBones summoning a giant skeleton]] as her trump card move. She's more of a hexer here, but her weapon and spells still have hints of this.
* ShrinkingViolet: She is very timid and meek in front of others, which is understandable given [[TrappedInAnotherWorld her situation]]. However...
** NaughtyByNight: Once she's been initiated by Chihaya, it turns out she's a beast in the sheets, so much so that even [[SexGod Chihaya]] has a hard time keeping up with her.

!!Cath Palug
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cath_palug_full.png]]
* CatGirl: She's the most clear example in the game, even more so than Teach, who was cursed into her cat form.
* MysticalWhiteHair: She has silver-white hair, which contrasts well with her black tails, red cape and golden bikini.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears a red cape and a bikini.

!!Taliesin
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taliesin_full.png]]
* MagicMusic: She heals and buffs her allies by singing.
* VaporWear: Her outfit clearly shows she's not wearing underwear.

!!Heyoka
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heyoka_full.png]]
* IdiotHair: She has a thin but prominent cowlick.
* ImprovisedLightningRod: She primary attack method is to channel her lightning powers through her body, [[TakingYouWithMe striking both herself and her enemies]].
* LittleBitBeastly: She has horns, sharp teeth, a long tail and black wings.
* StrangeSyntaxSpeaker: Speaks in a back-to-front manner similar to Master Yoda from ''[[Franchise/StarWars Star Wars]]''.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Only a thin white cloth covers her breasts and private parts.

!!Taishang Laojun
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taishang_laojun_full.png]]
* AnimalMotifs: The Ox. She has 2 ox-like horns protruding from her temples, in addition to the Oni-like horn on her forehead. It is unclear whether these are just accessories or [[HornedHumanoid parts of her]]. The horns may also be a reference to Literature/JourneyToTheWest, where she keeps a magical ox/rhino as her mount.
* FightingAcrossTimeAndSpace: Her teleportation magic grants her the means to whisk her and her allies away at a moment's notice, forcing the Zipangese army to trek her down across the world.
* TheManBehindTheMan: Revealed to be [[spoiler: the mastermind behind Liu Bang's rebellion at the end of the Taika Campaign.]]
* TheMedic: Serves this role to her fellow Ancient Heroes.
* PointyEars: Her ears are rather pointy with no explanation.
* TheSlacker: Appears to lay about and do nothing all day. However, her character event reveals that unlike [[ProfessionalSlacker Takeru]], she's holding back from actively working so she can be available at a moment's notice should her skills be required.

!Dingir.Ra
!!Brynhildr
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brynhildr_full.png]]
* GoingCommando: Her white cloth clearly shows she's not wearing anything underneath it.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Capable of inflicting this on people with her spear. A large part of the [[spoiler: Valhalla campaign revolves around her secretly exploiting heroines summoned from other dimensions to further the resurrection of Odin, then [[MemoryWipingCrew erasing their memories of it afterwards.]]]]
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: Towards [[spoiler: Odin.]]
* PronounTrouble: While it's hardly uncommon for female characters in this game to use [[UsefulNotes/JapanesePronouns masculine pronouns]] ([[RuleSixtyThree for obvious reasons]]), Brynhildr uses the very archaic and also extremely masculine ''Naikou'' (乃公), which sticks out a lot more than the others since she's basically [[TrashTalk patronizing her addressee]] by referring to herself as "This Daddy". This is also doubly odd given she's one of the few characters in the game whose inspiration was female to begin with.
* {{Valkyries}}: She's the most famous of all known valkyries.
* WeaponSpecialization: She wields a spear in battle, and she can use it to delete the memories of others.

!!Rossweisse
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rossweisse_full.png]]
* DoppelgangerAttack: She can conjure multiple copies of herself by [[CastFromHitPoints sacrificing a large portion of her health]].
* TheIngenue: She has no knowledge of the wider world and is prone to be lead astray by the less-than-scrupulous members of the Zipangese army.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Only a thin white cloth covers her crotch.
* {{Valkyries}}: After Brynhildr, she's one of the best known valkyries.

!!Fafnir
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fafnir_full.png "[[BigEater Faf is hungry]]. [[ThroughHisStomach Feed Faf now]]."]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate form]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000191010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* BigEater: Has an appetite which rivals that of [[ExtremeOmnivore Lancelot's]], which is to be expected given her [[WereDragon real form]].
* GoingCommando: Her tail is poking out from under her dress, putting her conspicuously uncovered bottom on full display.
* LivingBattery: She was once a powerful mage who was devoured by [[spoiler: [[MagicEater Odin]]]] and used as his [[PowerSource source of magic]].
* SleepModeSize: Spends most of her time in her humanoid form, and only transforming after having accumulated enough energy from eating.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Refers to herself as "Faf" in the Japanese script.
* ThroughHisStomach: How Chihaya is able to tame her. She agrees to stay and fight for the Zipangese army [[BigEater as long as she gets fed]]. Progresses to ASideOrderOfRomance in her later character events.
* WereDragon: She can alternate between a human-like form and the huge dragon from the myths.

!!Perseus
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/perseus_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see her alternate costume]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_000172010.png]][[/labelnote]]
* AscendedExtra: She began as an NPC faced while battling Achilles in the first game.
* BrattyHalfPint: She's pretty headstrong and capricious.
* HistoricalHeroUpgrade: Or rather, Mythological Hero Upgrade. Her sentient serpent shield is the serpent-haired Medusa, who was a mortal enemy of Perseus in the original myth, and their encounter ended with Medusa [[OffWithHisHead getting beheaded by the latter]]. Here however, the two of them are close friends, with Medusa often acting as the young heroine's caretaker and guardian.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Intense red hair and green eyes and she's one of the most famous Greek heroes.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Only wearing a set of string bikinis and boots to cover herself with.

!!Rostam
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rostam_full.png]]
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: She's very proud of her fighting prowess and claims to be "the unrivaled heroine". While she does have the skills to back it up, Chihaya is able to triumph over her in, ahem, [[AggressiveSubmissive a certain other aspect...]]
* CatGirl: She fits very well, having CuteLittleFangs, a PlayfulCatSmile and her hair is shaped like cat ears.
* DualWielding: She wields two curved swords.
* LightningBruiser: True to her claim as the "Unrivaled Heroine", she has an exceptionally high attack and speed rating with some very potent offense skills to go with them. You will need a bit of setup to go through her [[MultiformBalance phase changes]] in order to unlock her full potential, but once you do, she can easily obliterate most enemies in quick successions with just a few hits.
* TanLines: She has some prominent tan lines.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Only a tiny corset and thong prevent her from showing everything.

!Einherjar
* AlternateUniverse: They all come from an alternate dimension who somehow ended up in the current one.
* MultiNationalTeam: Just like the Dingir.Ra and Pandora, they come from different countries; Amakusa and Hachimen are from Zipang, Wallace is Scottish, Spartacus is Thracian, Robespierre is French and Valkoinen is Finnish.

!!Amakusa Shiro
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amakusa_shiro_full.png]]
* CoolSword: Her katana is conjoined with a shorter sword to form a cross shape, signifying her faith.
* TheFundamentalist: A devoted believer of (presumably Christian) faith. She was on a mission as the messenger of her religion before getting pulled into Chihaya's dimension.
* KamehameHadoken: Her Hero Skill has her producing a giant beam of energy out of her palms to blast the enemy with.
* MagicKnight: She combines her holy powers with swordplay, making for a deadly combo.

!!Gishiki Hachimen
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gishiki_hachimen_full.png]]
* CarryABigStick: She wields a huge, spiked golden mace that's shaped like a pipe.
* HornedHumanoid: Comes with being an oni. Her headgear is also shaped like a pair of ox horns.
* KimonoFanservice: Just like Seimei and Goemon, her kimono is practically falling off her shoulders.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her lingerie practically doesn't cover anything.

!!William Wallace
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/william_wallace_full.png]]
* {{BFS}}: She wields a sword that's almost as big as she is.
* BraveScot: She's one of the best known examples.
* CollaredByFashion: She wears a collar to go with her dog motif.
* DangerousBackswing: Her regular attack hits hard and covers a wide arc thanks to her weapon. Unfortunately, it will also hit the tile directly behind her, potentially catching an ally in the crossfire if they happen to be standing in that spot.
* FashionableAsymmetry: She wears a gauntlet with a green scarf around it on her left arm while her right arm is bare.
* HotBlooded: Like a true Scot.
* OneSteveLimit: Has the same name as William Kidd and Billy the Kid. Being referred to by her last name helps to avoid confusion.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Red hair, green, almost blue eyes and she's the most famous fighter for freedom in Scotland.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She only wears a belt around her breasts and a mini-skirt.
* ThisMeansWarpaint: Another famous trait carried over from her inspiration. Although in this case she's wearing hers perpetually, since she was going through ForeverWar in her own dimension.

!!Spartacus
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spartacus_full.png]]
* AnimalMotifs: Bulls, even more prominently than Alexander.
* BloodKnight: She lives to fight and is always up for a challenge.
* GladiatorRevolt: She went through this back in her own dimension.
* LightningBruiser: In-game, her attacks can hit hard due to them [[StatusInflictionAttack inflicting]] [[DamageOverTime bleed]]. This coupled with her passive skill which reduces her delay on kill, enables her to attack multiple times in a row before her opponent could strike back.

* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Timeline-wise speaking, she's the youngest heroine in the game, being based on a historical figure from the World War II era who lived all the way through to the early 21st Century.
* ColdSniper: As with her real world counterpart, she's a taciturn but deadly markswoman who picks off her targets sight unseen. Bonus point for her ability to utilize snow as camouflage.
* ExposedToTheElements: For someone who constantly fights in the snow, her legs are completely exposed down to her shins.
* KillerRabbit: Don't let her frail appearance fool you, she’s perfectly capable of ending you before you even spot her, and has already done so to thousands who crossed her path.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: While quite obviously based on the Finnish sniper [[UsefulNotes/SimoHayha Simo Häyhä]], she's named Valkoinen [[note]]"White" in Finnish[[/note]] here in order to avoid legal troubles.
* PointyEars: She has pointy, elf-like ears.
* TokenMiniMoe: For the Einherjar, being the youngest looking and the earliest hero.

* AlternateSelf: To the Mu in Chihaya's dimension. She comes from a dystopian alternate universe where all hope are nearly lost.
* DefrostingIceQueen: She's initially quite [[BrokenBird abrasive and cold towards everyone]] (understandable given [[BadFuture where she comes from]]), but warms up quite a bit throughout the course of her campaign and character events. [[spoiler: [[SlapSlapKiss Especially towards Chihaya]].]]
* FullFrontalAssault: Other than a cloak and a chain, she's naked.
* SupportPartyMember: She can only deal direct damage with her passive skills, with her active skills being a mix of [[StatusAilment debuff spells]], EnergyAbsorption and [[AttackReflector Damage Reflection]].

----
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Her attack sprite has her holding [[PhallicWeapon a suspiciously-shaped sea snail in front of her crotch]], while she arcs her head backwards in a rather suggestive pose as [[VisualInnuendo a splash of water seemingly erupts from its tip...]]
* MakingASplash: She relies on her water manipulation powers as her main offense.
* NoNameGiven: She is never named by the game, and [[MyNameIsQuestionMarks her dialogue designation simply shows up as "???"]] during story events. 1094* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: Her appearance is more in-line with the classical depiction, resembling a young girl with EarFins and a fish tail instead of legs.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: It turns out she was the one who [[spoiler: lead the dangerous sea dragon to Prestopia, unaware of it being an inhabited region and throwing the submerged kingdom onto the bream of extinction.]]
* VerbalTic: All of her sentences are preceded by a short burst of bubble-blowing sounds [[labelnote:example]]"Blublub..."[[/labelnote]].

* CombatTentacles: The mechanical tentacles attached to her frame are capable of emitting lasers in conjunction to serving as melee weapons.

* PowerCrystal: Like most Atlantean units, she's powered by the crystalline Deep Sea Stone embedded in the cranial section of her frame.
* RoboSpeak: She speaks in a very formally manner, and her lines are broken up by two dashes on either side to illustrate her robotic speech patterns.
