** Episode 3, level 8 is a huge pain in the ass as well, with lots and lots of ambushes. The biggest offender, though, is the giant swaztika room at the start, along with the rooms surrounding it, all swarming with Officers and SS'es. Make even the slightest noise, and they ''all'' converge on you at once from all directions (with even a few enemies from adjacent rooms joining in.) And even if you think you've killed them all, the levels are set up to stagger their arrival, so there's probably still one or two more wandering around, waiting to get you when your back is turned.

* AntiClimax: e2m7 seems like one at first, with the player able to get to the elevator in only a few minutes while only killing 3 enemies. That's because most of the level is part of an extensive hidden area that leads to three extra lives and a ton of treasure.

Me and my English. :(

** e6m9 is the boss level of Episode 6. For some players, it can be ThatOneLevel, but for others, it's a balls-to-the-wall slug-fest where you mow down an army of Nazis and then face of against a pretty interesting boss. If you enjoy rooms packed with a lot of guards to mow down, then this level is probably your thing.

* CrowningMomentOfFunny: Probably for amusement, the coder of the game engine made it so that every once in a while, when one kills a guard or dog, they emit the sound flatulence. It can be jarring to suddenly hear it while going about your business as usual. This troper tends to encounter this "EasterEgg" during secret levels.

** e6m10, the secret level of Episode 6, provides four quadrants to explore, a fun amount of guards to mow down and plenty of challenge. This is also the only map outside of Episode 2 where you can fight Mutants again [[note]]for better or worse (see DemonicSpiders below)[[/note]] Three of the four quadrants have an encounter with [[DegradedBoss Hans Grosse]] who is just as strong as ever like he was in Episode 1. Besides one other level, this is the only level in the original series where you fight "Super-guards" like a more regular enemy.

* GameBreaker: For the patient players, it is possible to safely clear out many rooms of guards by diagonally stabbing the knife into a doorway (or almost any 1-square-wide 90-degree blind turn) as the [[ArtificialStupidity Nazis dutifully come through single-file to their deaths]]. It is a sound strategy for beating the otherwise-not-100%-completable [[BrutalBonusLevel E4M10]].[[note]]This only works for levels that contain rooms that force the guards to funnel through a single passage, if there are two near-by doors, then you are not as safe from sneak attack.[[/note]]

[[http://wolfenstein.wikia.com/wiki/File:WOLF3D_E6M07.PNG It really helps to see a 2D map of the level to understand why.]] Add in the over 140 soldiers in the map and be prepared for unexpected ambushes that can easily cause you to lose half your health.

* UnwinnableByInsanity: In certain places, such as the health room in [=E2M9=], you can push a secret wall and then quickly run into the square it is destined for. If you succeed, the wall parks on top of you. Congratulations, you are now stuck in a wall, totally immobilised, treated with a view of broken vertical lines and with enemies unable to shoot you, hence no way of dying.

* FanNickname: Pushable walls were quickly christened "pushwalls".
* FridgeLogic: How come the mutants mingle in just fine with the regular guards when they're hinted at to be killing machines and slaughtered some of the guards offscreen in episode two? (What I mean is that they don't care if any of the regular guards are in the same room they are and just focus on the player instead)
