*SlowPacedBeginning: A common [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Philippines/comments/13fkvtw/japanese_tokusatsu_fans_who_literally_paid_to/ complaint]] amongst Japanese viewers who watched it with subtitles. They were not used to the "telenova" style of ''Legacy'' and preferred the anime's original 40-episode format.

*ArcFatigue: The Steve-Jamie-Mark-Eva love triangle that begins in episode 4 and isn't properly resolved until episode ''83'', dominating most of the show's filler and slice of life episodes. By the time it was over most fans had dropped the show.

*TaintedByThePreview: From the moment ''Legacy'' was announced, Filipinos were upset because they didn't have faith in Reyes and Doctoro to properly adapt it. "My Childhood is gone in New Year's Eve." and "It's Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan all over again" began trending on Filipino Facebook and Twitter.

*[[TheyChangedItNowItSucks/VoltesVLegacy They Changed It, Now It Sucks]]

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks:
** A lot of fans are not happy with the portrayal of Zardoz and Zandra as being overly desiring of one another, finding the live action incarnations ''"too horny"'' (no pun intended). In the anime, Zardoz/Heinel and Zandra/Katherine had a mostly unrequited love for one another that they never get to express until the end.
** The turtle-like Beast Fighter Gamera appears far later in the series and is easily dispatched by a few missiles. A lot of fans received this negatively due to both taking away the tag-team of Namazuka[[note]]"Namazungo" in the original anime[[/note]] and Gamera[[note]]"Gamenza" in the original[[/note]] attacking at the same time, and the fact that Gamera never even gets to battle Voltes V in its combined form.
** Some fans are displeased [[spoiler:with Dr. Smith's death being done by the Android Ned as opposed to dying by Heroic Sacrifice during another dual tag-team between Gonguru and Kuragenyara. These two Beast Fighters were omitted from the series, disappointing some fans who liked Kuragenyara for its unusual and unconventional appearance and Gonguru for its comedic, slapstick-like mannerisms.]]
** The Beast Fighters Daiand, Dorion and Giron are omitted from the series, but their story arcs are still referenced: Daiand's mind control is replaced by a ring worn by Jamie, Dorion's plague germs are replaced by a fleet of flying saucers that spray the pathogen in the air, and Giron is replaced by two human-sized Boazanian gladiators Takeo and Arisa. Many were disappointed that they included these at all, and would rather have preferred to see the Beast Fighters themselves than just being referenced.
*** Similarly, the way some story arcs were reused but omitted their episode's Beast Fighter were also a point of issue. Zoldier's second form ends up taking up the subplot of Tobiurago (the flying fish) with Big Bert breaking off from the team and finding Hrothgar in prison at Zuhl's base, and Desler appears a second time with a shield weapon that leads to the Mechanical Eagles assistance, replacing the twin beetle Beast Fighters Saimon and Daimon.
** Marquise Zaki being gender-swapped into a woman received some controversy, with some okay with the change and others finding it unnecessary and making her mock flirtiness to Zardoz add unneeded romantic tension between her and Zandra. Zaki was also involved with the tiger Beast Fighter Gargo, which was omitted in the remake.
** Although they did love the epic visuals of two rivals dueling on the literal Hand of the God of Shugoshin Godor, some Japanese fans have complained about how in episode 90, the desperate Zardoz/Heinel was still using his [[AgonyBeam ring device]] during his duel with Ken'ichi/Steve, making him [[CombatPragmatist less honorable]] at this stage of his character development compared to his [[NobleDemon anime counterpart]].
** A common criticism amongst Japanese commenters was the change of Heinel's hair colour from blonde to brunette, as his blonde look was considered iconic.

* {{Narm}}:
** Dokugaga, Dainegu, and Zoldier's battles are undeniably awesome, but before Voltes V deals the final blow the three Beast Fighters are just... staring motionlessly and waiting for it to happen instead of attempting to dodge or block. It comes off as oddly comical.[[note]]Although it was the rebuilt Zoldier who stood still compared to its previous self who got caught off guard by Voltes V dodging its jousting charge and attacked from behind, unable to dodge or turn around in time to defend itself.[[/note]] Bombos gets the pass because it was created deliberately weak to draw out Voltes V by attacking a city and make an EnemyScan on their Volt Machines in the middle of their Volt-In sequence to send the results to Zuhl before it willingly bites the dust.
** The moment when Draco dramaticaly announces the Beast Fighter's name as [[XtremeKoolLetterz "Zoldier"]] and supplementary material spells it out as such. So the Boazanian ConLang just happens to look like English with "Xtreme" spelling now?
*** The change of Baizanga to "Vaizanger" and Suneizaa into "Zunaizer" may also qualify.
** The scene where Jamie laments being stuck in a love triangle between Steve and Mark. It consists of her crying while sad music plays, complete with slowed-down montages of both boys, before going back to her sobbing face. And then there's [[https://hero.fandom.com/wiki/Jamie_Robinson_(Voltes_V:_Legacy)?file=Jamielovetriangle.png this]] cheesy shot.
** Mark forcing Steve into a fistfight because Steve told Jamie he liked her. Intended to be a serious dramatic moment, the whole thing instead becomes unintentional comedy thanks to Mark's ridiculously over-the-top reaction, making him look like a buffoonish {{Manchild}} having a temper tantrum with Steve and Big Bert trying to calm him down.
** General Watson's death is a somber moment, but it's undercut by how, instead of slowly fading as he succumbs to his injuries, suddenly goes limp in such an exaggerated way it can come off as silly.
** The epic sword battle between Zardoz and Steve, which in the anime occurred in a winter tundra (to be fair, the Philippines is a ''tropical'' country where it doesn't snow), happened in a nearby park playground in the live-action version. You could even see the brightly colored playground walls in several shots.
** [[spoiler: When Jamie was shot in the stomach by a presumably disguised Eva, it was supposed to be shocking moment for the audience. [[MoodWhiplash ... And then a Palmolive Naturals commercial featuring her actress Ysabel Ortega pops up]].]] The Palmolive Naturals Hair Bounce Check has become notorious in the fandom, as it keeps appearing at dramatic climaxes in later episodes.
** The four-headed hydra Beast Fighter Zunaizer's roars are very obviously the call of the Mighty Eagle from ''VideoGame/AngryBirds''.
** Zardoz's helmet while he's in Godor, for heavily resembling [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Slowking]].
*** Earlier, his jump into Godor's blue flame. While the anime has a psychedelic sequence of him being beamed through a neon tunnel of light, here he ''slowly'' falls into the flame, flailing his arms like he's swimming, and suddenly just wakes up inside the cockpit.
* NarmCharm: Zairus's defeat where it's bisected vertically by the Laser Sword: the two halves awkwardly peel apart and then somehow balance upright at a slanted angle for a few seconds before blowing up. However, the cut halves of the bisected Beast Fighter briefly form a V-shape, making a creative twist on the characteristic V-Slash finishing move.

** The concept of Kenichi/Steve having a love interest. According to Yuki Hijiri's notes, in the original anime, Kenichi was to fall in love with a hornless Boazanian woman named Marlene Rii, Katherine's little sister.

**Many fans didn't like the adaptational romance between Heinel and Katherine in ''Legacy''. However the Italian dub of the original 1977 anime also [[DubInducedPlotlineChange changed]] Heinel into being more overt about his love for Katherine. However, it was done in a way that was more consistent with his characterization.

I disagree with the reason for deleting all those lines of examples, especially with how their citations have been waved off as not legitimate proof and needing people to watch all 90(!) episodes of the show to demonstrate that it's a valid example.
