However, strangely enough, his three sizes (Bust/waist/hip measurements) are given in the official profile, which are not normally precised for male characters, indicating possible foreshadowing of Akira's true gender. * HeartwarmingMoments: Mamori finally accepting Mirei as "her prince" in episode 2 after being rescued from the AttemptedRape, puckering up, and giving herself to Mirei willingly is truly a sight for sore eyes. Not to be outdone, Mirei goes and tops her in the very next scene by honoring her wishes to avoid violence by simply jumping past Agnsi (after swatting the wires away) calmly stating "sorry, I can't fight you. I promised." At that point, Mirei has proven that she ''earned the right to be Mamori's partner and wield her as an Arm.''
** Mamori saw the side of Mirei that both shames and horrifies Mirei, with Mirei ''begging'' Mamori not to look, [[UnfortunateImplications like a rape victim horrifyingly begging a friend or loved one not to look at them.]] Mamori didn't run away, didn't scream or hide her face. She turned, stood her ground and proceeded to perform a GoThroughMe on the very same Artificial Arm that brutalized Mirei just moments before. This means that Mamori still accepts Mirei even after seeing the latter's darkest and most horrific side! Only to be topped by the reason Mamori evolved. These simple words "you must not give up hope."

* AwesomeMoments: Mirei saving Mamori from being [[RapeAsDrama raped]] at the end of episode 2, by [[DynamicEntry jumping]] through a stain glass window, [[TheStoic wordlessly]] delivering a kick to the would-be rapist's gut, and driving with Mamori in possibly the most awesome kiss scene yet. Then it's followed by Mirei escaping the academy, only stopping to tell Agnsi, and Charlotte ''she can't bother fighting them, she promised'' (with the implication it would have been a CurbStompBattle on her part). The entire scene is accompanied by an [[AwesomeMusic kickass]] instrumental piece.
** "Heelhold" Driving Mamori with just a single kiss was the epitome of awesome... until episode 8.
** Most of episode 8 is, but Mamori evolving and being used to take down [[spoiler: the artificial Arm]] by releasing the strongest Valkyrie Effect ever recorded was truly phenomenal.
** Mamori in episode 10, non-stop. While Mirei was struggling against Kazumi, Mamori managed to rescue Hibiki and trounce an Arms equipped Ange, alone and bare-handed, and Ange had two allies (also equipped with Arms) backing her up! Then after teaming up with Mirei, they trounced all three in a single blow.
** Episode 11, '''Meifong''' stops Momoka's WaveMotionGun saving the lives of Mirei, Lady Lady, Kasumi, and Hibiki (who then immediately goes into a panic attack).
** This gets topped shortly afterwards by Lady Lady "putting on a show." [[spoiler: With Mirei riding them, they fuse into a flying bike and take down Charlotte and the unnamed "Soldier" operative.]] It's just as awesome as it sounds.

* [[AmericansHateTingle Americans Hate Mamori:]] While Mamori is pretty well liked by the japanese fanbase, she is the target of a lot of hate from the western fanbase due people seeing her like a stupid, [[MadonnaWhoreComplex unfaithful]] girl that only remains with Mirei because she protects her and not because she has feelings for her.

* CounterpartComparison: Mirei has been compared to [[Anime/CrossAnge Ange]] due to their striking resemblance and that their shows are heavy on yuri and fanservice.

While the chronology is not yet clear, as a young teen (she's 15 now), she was in a war zone, fighting for her life against a rather sizable army of HumongousMecha, and winning. She only lost because she hesitated to kill a terrified soldier who collapsed to his knees in front of her, after she ripped apart the mecha he was riding like a soup can, and she got hit with a significant barrage of missiles from behind. This not only left her grievously wounded and unable to resist, but separated her from her blue-haired partner whom she clearly treasured. She suffered gang rape, or worse, or both. Again, not stated if before or after the battle, was also shipped to Mermaid via missile, and is now the target of Welter, especially Charlotte, who will stop at nothing to beat her down and brutalize her for actually daring to fight back and win. Episode 8 also reveals that she was the unwilling test subject in a deliberate LivingWeapon project, and that the "research" is still ongoing.
