Fixed the Blood Splattered Innocents pothole and some spelling errors. It's debatable whether Chloe was actually attempting suicide in the cabin. The scene reads more like she had a Heroic BSOD and wanted nothing more than to just sit down and have a cigarette, numb to the danger around her.

* TheWoobie: Dale.
** Mitch, [[spoiler: the college student who got himself stabbed by a branch]], can be this to some viewers because he's one of the more level headed students and [[spoiler: is still the first to die]].
** Chloe has some of this by the end. Having ended up a BloodSplatteredInnocent in a fairly graphic way, desperately wanting to leave several times but having been shot down by Chad, briefly thinking the situation is better (during a DumbassHasAPoint moment when she pints out to Jason how it looks like the others are sitting down and talking) and having a HeroicBSOD after accidentally [[spoiler: killing Jason]], followed by what may have been a [[spoiler: successful suicide]].

** Both the "Weedwhacker in the Face" and "Machete to the Throat" scenes are obvious CGI and stand out poorly when compared to the more practical effects used in the film.

The example even points out two reasons for Allison not appreciating the gravity of the situation (shock and head trauma) which kinda invalidates her as an example.

While YMMV does have more leeway with regards to subjective interpretation, this example is way too strong on speculation and slides into Square Peg Round Trope.

* HoYay: While Dale and Tucker are apparently neither gay nor in a relationship, it is implied that they might be FriendsWithBenefits. After all, it is pointed out very clearly that their cabin is far off from civilisation, that they planned on going there alone... and that the cashier loudly reads out that they - along with tools for fixing the cabin - purchased lubricated condoms. Of course, the list does include odd items like menstrual pads, which, like condoms, have other utilities (such as serving as waterproof covers for firearms), so it's hard to pin it down definitively. Though it's not helped with lines like this happening in the same scene as the officer stopping them.

* AlternateAesopInterpretation: On one level, the moral of the story is that PoorCommunicationKills... but this is challenged by the fact that the characters all literally sit down around a table to talk out their grievances and resolve the situation with reason, and it doesn't work at all. An alternate take is that [[FamilyUnfriendlyAesop actually, some people just can't be reasoned with no matter how good your intentions are.]]

* IdiotPlot: PlayedForLaughs. The ''only'' reason any of the kids get killed is because they collectively have the same lack of self-preservation instincts and make the same [[TooDumbToLive braindead decisions]] as you'd expect from [[GenreBlindness your average horror movie cast,]] with inevitably lethal results. [[spoiler: Except for Chad, who is both WrongGenreSavvy and genuinely malevolent.]]

After all, it is pointed out very clearly that their cabin is far off from civilisation, that they planned on going there alone...and that the cashier loudly reads out that they - apart from tools for fixing the cabin - purchased lube and condoms makes it seem quite clear that they had planned to amuse themselfs there in one way or another. Seeing that a lot happens that wasn't planned, they never did in the cabin what they intended to.
