* HoYay: While Dale and Tucker are apparently neither gay nor in a relationship, it is implied that they might be FriendsWithBenefits. After all, it is pointed out very clearly that their cabin is far off from civilisation, that they planned on going there alone...and that the cashier loudly reads out that they - apart from tools for fixing the cabin - purchased lube and condoms makes it seem quite clear that they had planned to amuse themselfs there in one way or another. Seeing that a lot happens that wasn't planned, they never did in the cabin what they intended to.

* UnfortunateImplications: While the movie does a good job of demonstrating why lumping all hillbillies together is stupid and prejudice, TheReveal that the single truly crazy person in the film [[spoiler: is the illegitimate rape child of a mass murderer]] creates some creepy InTheBlood implications.

* UnfortunateImplications:
** The movie goes out of its way to show that hillbillies are people just like anyone of us, but [[spoiler:there actually WAS a hillbilly serial killer at one point. And Chad is revealed to be one as well.]]
** At the end, when [[spoiler:Dale and Allison are bowling, a hillbilly friend of Dale's expresses interest in a woman, Dale gives him advice like Tucker gave him at the start, and as Dale and Allison are talking, we hear a woman scream and Dale's friend is seen punching a woman, knocking her out and drags her off. Dale and Allison just seem to pretend that they didn't see it.]]
** Dale and Allison's romance seems sort of inappropriate given that [[spoiler:all of her friends were horribly killed in various accidents, which she seems rather blasé about.]]
