** Hippolyta. Her [[spoiler:death]] might have started the event, but its ramifications and how it affects both her lover Philippus and daughter Diana are glossed over in favor of advancing the plot without her.

Less majorly, [[spoiler:an earlier challenge from Faruka to Diana about the two of them having a "proper fight" to continue an interrupted scuffle doesn't end up playing out.]]

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: ''Everyone'' in the event feels wasted.
** Hippolyta. Her [[spoiler:death]] might have started the event, but its ramifications and how it affects both her lover Philippus and daughter Diana are glossed over in favor of advancing the plot without her.
** Yara Flor and the Esquecidas. Despite Yara's distrust towards the Greek Gods, her interactions with Diana and the other Amazons are quickly swept aside. The Esquecida with the exception of Potira have barely any dialogue and are only there to fill crowd shots, wasting their interesting designs.
** The other Wonder Girls, Donna and Cassie, barely have anything to do in the story. Donna becomes champion of the Bana-Migdhall, yet her reasons for doing so aren't explained, while Cassie despite nominally starring the ''Wonder Girl'' one-shots, has the whole investigation into the mystery of [[spoiler:Hippolyta's murder]] rushed and without giving Cassie much to do besides calling herself a detective and interrogating other characters.
** Altuum the Survivor, despite technically starting the whole event, doesn't even interact with the Amazons besides acknowledging his presence, making him feel more like a plot device. [[spoiler:That he dies on the very next issue after the event only makes the waste more apparent.]]
** Diana herself, despite the event being technically about her, has very little to do. Even when she does join the Trial as an independent champion, this is barely explored and the plot quickly moves away from the tournament without much thought. That she doesn't factor in the resolution of the story only makes it worse.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot:
** The entire 'Trial' is sidelined as soon as it begins, meaning the characters don't actually face each other.
** Yara's understandable grudge towards the Olympian Gods is glossed over and mostly unexplored, with Diana accepting her as a new Wonder Girl with little to no conflict.
