* SugarWiki/GeniusProgramming: The UsefulNotes/SegaGenesis version of the video game adaptation of the first movie is very impressive on a graphical level. The digitised sprites are one thing; the ''faux 3D'' effects in the background is another. Some of the background elements look as if they were rendered on the [=PS1=], and there are sprites that should be technically too large for the Genesis to handle, but still work anyways. [[https://youtu.be/vpqIJNKuWnU?t=1340 The Pizza Planet level is often regarded as being one of the most graphically impressive things on the Genesis.]] And then there's the fact that there's [[https://youtu.be/vpqIJNKuWnU?t=1811 the first person level]].

** The Toy Story video game for the UsefulNotes/SegaGenesis, Super NES and PC is a very fun side-scroller that perfectly captures the spirit of the film, and even uses pre-rendered CGI sprites to match the look of the film.

** The ''Toy Story 2'' game for both the UsefulNotes/PlayStation, Dreamcast, PC and the UsefulNotes/Nintendo64 combined the similar free-roaming gameplays of ''VideoGame/SuperMario64'' and ''Franchise/SpyroTheDragon'' to great effect, while following the plot of the movie. This helped a lot in Europe, where the game's rerelease on the UsefulNotes/PlaystationNetwork helped to make out for the ''Spyro'' trilogy's late arrival (December 2012). Additionally, several movie locations[[note]](such as Andy's house, his neighborhood, Al's Toy Barn and its Pizza Planet-esque Buzz Lightyear-based section, Al's penthouse and the airport)[[/note]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-5jnJoNjVk translate pretty well to functional video game levels.]]
** Meanwhile, the third film's game was also considered pretty fun, [[ItsEasySoItSucks if a little on the easy side]]; platformer akin to the second game's style on the UsefulNotes/PlayStation3 and UsefulNotes/Xbox360, with the Toy Box mechanic of an open world managing a city laying the groundwork [[VideoGame/DisneyInfinity for another Disney game]]. Heck, the [=PS3=] version even has a playable Zurg there!

Misplaced, moving to the correct tab

* TorchTheFranchiseAndRun: The series ended with Woody and Buzz parting ways in Toy Story 4 in order for Pixar to prevent anymore sequels from being made so that the series wouldn't decay, especially since the third installment is considered a ToughActToFollow. Though this doesn’t mean the end of the franchise, as spin-offs like Forky Asks a Question premiered on Disney+ and another theatrical film called Lightyear was released in 2022. Ultimately, this wasn't enough, and a fifth film was announced.

* ''YMMV/{{Lightyear}}''

* MisaimedFandom: A harmless example: It's pretty obvious to an adult that Buzz in the first film is supposed to come across as a very cheesy, superficial space hero character who's completely deluded about himself and rather buffoonish and obnoxious in his behaviour. This hasn't stopped numerous little boys from completely eating up the character at face value and finding him exactly as cool as the kids in-universe, almost ignoring the fact that his space adventure prowess isn't real in-universe. It's probably this kind of fandom that allowed [[WesternAnimation/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommand Buzz's ''actual'' space adventure cartoon]] to be made.
