* {{Wangst}}: Hiromu. Everytime he's not acting stoicly, being scared by chicken or kicking Vaglass butts, tends to whine, especially over his missing [[spoiler: and now dead]] parents.

* VindicatedByHistory: The season has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity for the same reasons people derided it at first (being too different). Especially from ''Kamen Rider'' fans and people disappointed with ''Kyoryuger'', ''[=ToQger=]'', and ''Ninninger''.
** It's also earned a bit of pity from various fans in both the West and the East after the announcement that ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' would primarily skip it in favour of ''Kyoryuger''.
** It doesn't help that the Go-Busters became supporting characters in their own team-up with the Kyoryugers, with part of their time given to the [[SpotlightStealingSquad Zyurangers and Abarangers]]. Fans were similarly upset when this became known.
** Further proof of ''Go-Busters''[='=] vindication was observed when the announcement of ''Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers'' was met with much rejoicing.

** The BrokenBase regarding the show being skipped in favor of ''Kyoryuger'', after the announcement of ''Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers'', which means that instead of being the first series since ''Dairanger'' [[AdaptedOut not to be adapted]], ''Gobusters'' is now the first season to be adapted out of order.

* EvilIsSexy: Escape.
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: This is the first Super Sentai season since ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' skipped over ''Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger'' to [[AdaptedOut not be adapted]]. Making jabs about ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' getting ReferenceOverdosed in this season seems a little sour in taste now to some.
** [[Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers Never mind]]...

* TakeThat: The series contains so many references and homages to Power Rangers because creator Yasuko Kobayashi was so outraged at how her previous series, Shinkenger, had been mangled by its adaptation Power Rangers Samurai, that she wanted to show she could make a better Power Rangers series than Saban.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: The core three Go-Busters in general, as many feel they lack the character development needed to be truly interesting characters. Hiromu didn't move on from his parents' death. Yoko and Ryuji seem to enjoy their life without their parents too much.
* BrokenBase: Over whether or not the season should have been skipped by ''Power Rangers'' for ''Kyoryuger.'' As of 2018, however, this is apparently a moot point.

* LoveToHate:Enter has proven to be quite popular amongst fans, who like him not only because of his enjoyment of being the bad guy, but also due to being a quite credible threat, being able to go toe-to-toe with the Go-Busters in fights and succeeding in several of his missions. His proving to be very clever and learning for his mistakes as the show moves on has made fans like him even more.

* CompleteMonster: [[DragonInChief Enter/Dark Buster]] started with his "attempts" to appease his Majesty [[BigBad Messiah]]. This involves causing misery as much as he likes and pulling UnwillingRoboticisation, even on children, using them as human shields, while having a blast while doing all of this with an unabashedly relaxed, but still nasty speech pattern peppered with French phrases. Even after Messiah is apparently destroyed, he attempts to revive him before later deciding [[AIIsACrapshoot that he would be much better at the job than his lowly creator]] and escalates his horrors, going so far as to implant himself with two cards containing backups of Messiah's data--one of which also contains Masato Jin's data--in order to become the new Messiah, as well as implant Hiromu with another card to serve as his SoulJar, forcing the Go-Busters to face the possibility of killing Hiromu in order to stop Messiah once and for all. He even threatens to harm Hiromu so grievously as to put him into a coma, just so that he can keep said Soul Jar alive without worrying about Hiromu attempting to off himself--assuming the card would let him do so.

** And in Mission 49, [[spoiler:he goes even further, assimilating an Enetron tank, turning it into a Megazord, along with dozens of innocent employees. He even attempted to absorb children! And his final plan has him doing this all over the world. As if we needed any more reason for him to be deleted!]]

* TheScrappy: Escape is considered to be a boring villain with no reason to exist other than to support Messiah and give fanservice.

Even after [[BigBad Messiah]] is apparently destroyed, he seems to escalate his horrors, going so far as to implant himself with two cards containing backups of Messiah's data--one of which also contains Masato Jin's data -- in order to become the new Messiah, as well as implant Hiromu with another card to serve as his SoulJar, forcing the Go-Busters to face the possibility of killing Hiromu in order to stop Messiah once and for all. Making jabs about ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' getting ReferenceOverdosed in this season seems a little sour in taste now, huh?

* FanonDiscontinuity: Some fans pretend that [[ToughActToFollow this series never existed]] and the franchise should be concluded inmediately with ''Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger'', full stop.

* BaseBreakingCharacter:
** The core three Go-Busters in general, as many feel they lack the character development needed to be truly interesting characters. Hiromu didn't move on from his parents' death. Yoko and Ryuji seem to enjoy their life without their parents too much.

* MagnificentBastard: Enter, oh so much so. BadAss, charismatic and more than willing to dirty his hands, he has been the Busters' greatest enemy from the very beginning, often outsmarting friend and foe alike and manipulating situations to his advantage. [[spoiler:No wonder he's become a DragonAscendant.]] Perhaps it's all the more impressive [[TookALevelInBadass that Enter actually]] [[CharacterDevelopment worked his way to become this]].

%%* TheyJustDidntCare: You know it is bad when the ''spin-off series'' ''[[Series/HikoninSentaiAkibaranger Akibaranger]]'' gets more effort poured into rather than the Sentai of the year. Later on ''Series/KamenRiderWizard'' also suffered from the same problem, with Akibaranger's second season airing on the same year.
* [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter Thew Wasted Perfectly Good Characters]]: The Buddyroids (save for Beet J. Stag) are mostly underused aside of being mostly comic reliefs and as parts for the Powered Custom.

* {{Vanilla Protagonist}}s: With the exceptions of Jin and J. The three core Go-Busters (Hiromu, Ryuuji and Youko) are this, since they didn't get much CharacterDevelopment, even in their focus episodes, making themselves {{Static Character}}s.
