** After Jack is asked why Creator/{{NBC}} has so few positive black characters, he tries to recommend watching Anthony Anderson on ''Series/LawAndOrder'' before Jonathan hastily tells him it's been cancelled. A few years later, Anthony Anderson would take the lead on ''Series/BlackIsh'', a show which routinely addresses African-American subjects. Except it's [[Creator/{{ABC}} not on NBC.]]

*** ...What's wrong with "Jazz"?

** But the biggest one is Hazel Wassername. Although Kenneth remained on the show, the fact that she took his job makes her a partial ReplacementScrappy. Somewhat mitigated by the fact that she's kind of a villain, and the fact that she quickly makes enemies of Jenna, Tracey and Pete, in addition to pretending to love Kenneth turns her into an intentional HateSink.

** The mouth-marbling title ''The Rural Juror'' sounds like something no one (sane) would let pass, but a few years later, the original title for CBS's ''{{Unforgettable}}'' was ''The Rememberer'', which underwent a switch after it elicited the same reaction in real life about how unwieldy the title was.

** For a show with so many ''Franchise/StarWars'' references in its script, it seems only fitting that one of its writers, Creator/DonaldGlover would go on to to play a starring role in [[{{Film/Solo}} one of the franchise's films]].

* AcceptableEthnicTargets: "Saint Patrick's Day" has Liz make several derogatory jokes aimed at the Irish and Irish-Americans that would be borderline bigotry if they were about a different, more marginalized ethnic group.

** Devon Banks was quite a MagnificentBastard in the early seasons. He later {{Flanderized}} into a silly moron. However he would still occasionally show signs of his former prowess in between this. For example in "Plan B" he manages to rebuild himself from nothing, manipulate himself out of Jack's control and soundly get himself a incredibly lucrative high up position that was supposed to go to Jack, in only two days... only for him to have a realisation that he loves his new born children to much to go back to full time employment and quit.
