** The ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' fanbase, in no small part due to the FanDumb constantly pressuring him to play it.

* HarsherInHindsight: His infamous "get cancer and die" tweets from earlier on in his career were fairly bad in the first place (to the point that TB apologised for them and considers them an OldShame), but have become outright tragic in light of his death on May 24, 2018.

* ColbertBump: Abbey Games credited TB with singlehandedly saving their studio from bankruptcy after his WTF is... series featured their game, RenownedExplorers. The normally stoic and biting critic that was TB gave it in an absolutely glowing review and his audience rushed out to buy the game in droves.

** Copyright abusers are a huge target of his, in no small part due to their pettiness and abuse of the law. Given how he's been a victim of this many times- and knows many people that are also victims- this is completely understandable.

** He repeatedly takes jabs at Creator/TheKingOfHate and Keemstar.
** Gaming media that he considers too sensationalist and those that choose to take sponsored deals and not disclose that they have done so.
** On a more lighthearted note, he ''loves'' giving frequent collaborator [[WebVideo/WowCrendor Crendor]] a good ribbing.

** His insistence on picking apart the options menu in many games has split the audience between those who are as insistent on the matter as he is, and those who only want to see gameplay. In videos that go on longer than a half an hour, he will usually provide an annotation to skip right to gameplay.
** His hatred of 30 FPS, particularly among console gamers, where 30 FPS is the norm. For console gamers, he's ranting about something that's entirely a non-issue at best, or indirectly saying (possibly unintentionally) that consoles suck simply for using a lower framerate at worst.

** He holds Creator/CDProjektRed in high regard, due to them developing great games, not using any DRM, and even add a ton of more content in patches that'd usually be paid DLC nowadays. That's on top of their M.O. for GOG (i.e., making it so classic titles that can't run on modern systems can).
** He also holds Creator/PlatinumGames in high regard, due to consistently making great, well polished, complex titles that would make anyone feel like complete and total badasses (as well as making the PC release of ''VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance'' [[PolishedPort actually pretty decent]]).
** To a lesser extent, the various [[PolishedPort excellent PC ports]] of their various published [=IP=]s has made him a fan of Creator/SquareEnix's western publishing division.

** He HATES the [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim arrow-to-the-knee]] meme with a passion, but uses other memes from time to time.

* DontShootTheMessage: His acerbicness is a hugely divisive. While his willingness to not mince words when soapboxing is part of the appeal for some, quite a lot of people who would have otherwise agreed with him on many issues find him too sanctimonious, tactless, or offputtingly rude.

** He and the Yogscast now appear to be this way after formerly being thick as thieves, although there is still a large degree of overlap and many have compared to it to parents divorcing.
** He doesn't appear to get along with LetsPlay/PewDiePie's fandom that much, although TB has stated he feels Felix gets undue hate as Website/YouTube's HateSink.

** With WebVideo/PressHeartToContinue and WebVideo/JesseCox, as they all host a podcast together.

** In his research stream for ''Guise of the Wolf'', TB remarks that he would find it hilarious if the developers went the route of ''VideoGame/DayOneGarrysIncident'' and filed a fraudulent DMCA claim against him. As it turns out, that's exactly what ended up happening. Though this could arguably be more HilariousInHindsight considering how badly the company came off looking and were forced to back down.

** He actually ''dares'' to say bad things about certain Indie games with [[SacredCow Immunity To Criticism]] - And naturally if you look at the comments, you'll see a lot of this.
*** NoSuchThingAsBadPublicity: Hasn't kept his videos from getting huge views.

* OlderThanTheyThink: Some fans have asked if his logo of a hat is inspired by, or stolen from, LetsPlay/HatFilms. TB has politely but firmly pointed out that he's been around for longer than the trio.

** Has begun to gravitate toward this since Mailbox 133, where he tells the story of how he has been separated from his wife and stepson for four years and has been attempting to make ends meet for them with his Website/YouTube career since.

** And as of October 2015 the cancer came back and became inoperable. He vowed simply to go back to chemo, last as long as possible and to up the average lifespan of a cancer victim.

** His death on May 24, 2018, from cancer

* AuthorsSavingThrow: In more of a literal sense, his recent (as of March 2017) surgery to remove the cancerous portion of his liver, which he had previously been told was inoperable, with his doctor telling him that he may be able to keep the cancer in permanent remission.

** And as of October 2015 the cancer is back and likely inoperable. He's vowed simply to go back to chemo, last as long as possible and to up the average lifespan of a cancer victim.

* NeverLiveItDown: His "Go get cancer and die" Tweets became this after his own cancer diagnoses came to light. Some of his crueler detractors think it was even a KarmicDeath.

** The second that TB said that he was sympathetic to those people that were fighting on the side of ethics during the Gamergate controversy in 2014, some people began to denounce him as being the same thing that they claimed that the Gamergate supporters were (misogynistic towards women in the gaming industry). This was actually a building block to some of the other backdrafts listed above. Though he had criticized both sides of the controversy many times, he has seemly been more on the side of those he felt (and still feels) have pushed for better ethics in the gaming press. Since he is one of the most well known independent critics, his word seemed to give the "pro-Gamergate" side a ton of credibility, which some in the gaming world didn't appreciate.

** Gaming media and those that choose to take sponsored deals and not disclose that they have done so, or use acts of nepotism to get favorable coverage of their games.

** While TB has cut ties with the Yogscast as a whole, his fanbase seems to absolutely adore LetsPlay/{{Sips}}, if the reddit announcement of Sips being on the podcast is any indication. There's also a fair degree of overlap between fans of LetsPlay/{{Strippin}} and TB, as well as B-Lister [=PyrionFlax=] due to their interactions.
