Does he hide his love for his son so Lloyd won't ever be used against him and to make it easier for Lloyd to fight him? The Comic-Con trailer seems to hint at this, but only time will tell for sure.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: The casting of Creator/JackieChan as Sensei Wu seems like an attempt to avoid accusations of cultural appropriation lobbied against the show, in which Sensei Wu had a Caucasian VA. It also helps that two of his students now have Asian [=VAs=][[note]]Kumail Nanjiani and Fred Armisen[[/note]], in contrast with the TV show's one.

* CrossesTheLineTwice: Lloyd being ostracized by other students on the bus because they know his father is a warmonger? A bit sad. ''Everyone'' on the bus moving to the left side just so they don't have to be near him, and telling him his dad ruins everything? Hilarious.

* UncannyValley: There is not a single moment in the trailer where Zane isn't grinning. That, combined with his new blue eyes, makes him look completely unnerving - especially for a RidiculouslyHumanRobot character.

Many people hate the seemingly unnecessary changes made to the characters and the fact that the movie is a CompressedAdaptation, while others are willing to accept the movie would ''have'' to change and compress the characters and story in order to appeal to a wider audience.
** Especially in regards to Garmadon's characterization, a good number of fans are upset about the fact that he doesn't seem to care about his son. In the show, Garmadon always loved Lloyd no matter how evil he was and to see him be so uncaring towards his son is jarring to some fans, while others are saying that all we've got to go on are trailers as of right now, which [[NeverTrustATrailer aren't always reliable]].
