* OneSceneWonder: Kelly Lynch is in only two scenes as Jackie's mother alcoholic Jean, but she makes an impression.

* TheWoobie: Jackie's entire life is one large TraumaCongaLine. No father to speak of and a mother who's frequently drunk - who eventually passed out while smoking and burned to death. In the future Jackie is also an alcoholic with no friends. [[spoiler: Thankfully averted as of the past changing, where Jean is alive and well]].

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: The ending is subject to this. [[spoiler: Is Jack going to get a limited amount of time to see Jackie's new future before he dies in the jacket? Or when he dies, is he now going to get to live in the good future, since he won't wake up anymore. Jackie's "how much time do we have?" suggests that it could be limited, but the fact that the scene is shot as an unambiguously happy ending instead of a bittersweet one suggests that Jack could be there to stay]].
* BrokenBase: Jackie and Jack becoming a couple in the future scenes. Some find it a little creepy due to her being a child in the real timeline. Others are okay with it, since Jack doesn't age and his matches Jackie's in the scenes where they're intimate.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Both Daniel Craig and Jennifer Jason Leigh have a lot less screentime compared to the protagonists but their characters are very remembered.
* FetishRetardant: The sex scene between Jackie and Jack - mostly because both are quite thin and sickly looking. It had to be edited down because test audiences didn't like it.
* FridgeBrilliance:
** In the end [[spoiler: Jackie seems to know that Jack has time travelled, despite the original BadFuture being erased. Well he did leave a letter for Jean telling her about her future fate. It's entirely possible that Jackie grew up believing she would one day see him again]].
** Why doesn't Dr Lorenson tell Jack how he died [[spoiler: even though she's there when it happens? Because in the original timeline, he didn't go to see Jean, and so she wouldn't have been there to drive him]].
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: A small one but when Jack visits Jackie and her mother in the present. He cheerfully says hello to Jean - specifically "Hi, Jean" - and her delivery of "hey" back is hilarious. She clearly has no idea who this man is, why he's in her house and how he knows her name. She comes across as if she's trying to pretend she doesn't know who he is.
* RetroactiveRecognition: A pre-James Bond Creator/DanielCraig as a mental patient, [[FakeAmerican hidden]] under a convincing American accent.accent.
* TearJerker: Jackie angrily revealing her mother's fate to Jack when he meets her in the future. It's even sadder that it's Christmas and she has no one to spend it with.
