Renamed one trope.

* TheyChangedItSoItSucks: Blades takes a number of departures from series standards, some of which don't sit well with fans.

* NewWorkRecycledGraphics: To a lesser extent. The game boasts several of its own architectural assets and dungeon tilesets, but otherwise recycles many of its assets from VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim. This includes character models, weapon and armor assets, and assorted environmental assets and clutter. This ended up leading to some instances of out-of-place objects, such as ancient Nordic stone chairs being regularly present in more modern Cyrodillic fortresses.

** The game is no longer a WideOpenSandbox, instead having a few HubLevel areas and a number of mostly-linear dungeons and levels for the player to "explore".
** A number of the game's crafting systems have been changed to more closely resemble those of a mobile game than a true console RPG, which is a stark contrast to the series' previous instant crafting.

This is Flame Bait now.

* SnarkBait: Hoo boy, this game got flak from the fans of The Elder Scrolls and well-known YouTubers like Creator/JimSterling and Angry Joe due to its lackluster gameplay and its predatory pay-to-win mechanics. Being released after the much-reviled VideoGame/Fallout76 doesn't help either.

* DemonicSpiders: Trolls. In the other Elder Scrolls games, trolls have always had a HealingFactor ability that heals them over time. The thing is, it was a slow heal, so players could still beat trolls easily. In Blades, however, the regeneration is taken to an extreme, turning trolls into enemies that can single handily end runs. Worse yet, there are usually multiple trolls in a dungeon.
