* BetterThanItSounds: There are some funny moments and the chemistry between Stallone and Getty is actually quite decent, not forgetting that the action scenes are good as well.

* StrawmanHasAPoint: The "list of rules" that Joseph makes up, and insists his mother follow, for the most part are just petty "don't do anything to embarrass me, or make me look bad" kind of rules, but some of the rules he demands she follow aren't without merit. For example, him telling her ''not'' to go downtown ''by herself'' where it's now to be extremely dangerous, sounds like a pretty legitimate rule for her to respect. But, instead she just thinks he's being a petty, ungrateful son.
