* HarsherInHindsight: Icheb sacrificing his own node to save Seven becomes so much more sad after what happened in season 1 of ''Series/StarTrekPicard.'' [[spoiler: Namely, Icheb gets vivisected for his Borg components, especially a brutal EyeScream for the cortical node that's no longer there, at the hands of a psychotic surgeon. By the time Seven saves him, all she can do is give him a MercyKill.]]

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: In the last half of the episode, Seven brings up a list of all the crew members who have died because of Janeway's determination to get back to Earth instead of settling on a safe M-class planet. She even believes that Janeway will be more affected by her death than the the ones who died before her. However, this only leads into Seven angsting over her belief that she hasn't lived up to Janeway expectations. It would have been much more interesting if Seven called out Janeway for all her rash actions that endangered the crew over the years and for seemingly caring more about her impeding demise than all the other crew members who've died under her command.
