* JerkassWoobie: Dennis. Despite being an asshole and an escaped convict who, together with his girlfriend and accomplice Lacey, holds a couple hostage it's hard not to feel sorry for him. He loses Lacey to the splinter creature that then tries to attack him leaving him heartbroken. Then, he loses an arm after it became infected by the same creature. Finally, he becomes infected ''again'' while trying to keep the creature at bay before sacrificing himself after killing the creature so that the couple can escape.

Nightmare Fuel hasn't had an octane level for years, it's out of order alphabetically, and Precision F Strike is for in-universe examples only; frankly, this is the sort of gratuitous use of F-bombs that led to its being declared as such.

* {{Narm}}: The creature effects are practical and incredibly effective for the most part. But the first scene with the puppet thing that portrays the molded creature in the first scene is not convincing, nor is the shot of the computer animated creature dropping down onto the car (the only time the creature is animated in the entire film).

** Dennis sacrifices himself to let the couple escape. When they see him dying on the floor, they go back for him and find it hard to leave him behind.

* Narm: The effects of the molded creature in the first scene are not convincing. By the end of the film, you'll probably wish it stayed that way.
