* JerkassWoobie: While Vince wasn't the easiest person to deal with even before his ScrewThisImOuttaHere moment, some of his mistakes and irritability could be a result of a lack of sleep suffered while he was the one trying to meet tight project deadlines Will agreed to.

* MoralEventHorizon: If Vince didn't cross it by [[spoiler: Walking out on the shop in the middle of the day and leaving it locked]], than he definitely did by [[spoiler: jacking up the price of the .458 SOCOM barrels Red Jacket needed to complete an order for little reason other than sheer spite.]]
** While it seems like small potatoes in hindsight, considering Will's crimes that were revealed later, however, Vince was absolutely pushed to that point by Will, Steph, and Kris, and they honestly should be taking the blame for that. Vince was a Managing partner of the shop, but kept getting repeatedly shut out on any decisions, despite that those decisions gave him extra work but not extra pay. He saved the business by taking over the Federal Firearms Licence for the shop, because both Will AND Steph both lost theirs and their ability to hold one due to gross negligence. He was doing something like 80-90% of the actual gunsmithing work, while also training the clueless new guy at the same time. He was regularly getting insulted and humiliated on national TV to make his boss look good. And on top of all of that, he wasn't getting paid any extra for any of that, didn't get overtime, and was basically the butt-monkey of the show. There's no moral failing in leaving a situation like that even if it inconveniences your (ex)Boss, and you can hardly fault the guy for refusing to give the shop that treated him like shit a sweetheart deal on expensive custom parts.

Broken Base requires two sides of the argument

* BrokenBase: Far, far too many for a healthy series to have. Where to start? The way Will's attitude sometimes comes off, the way Kris' attitude sometimes comes off, the ham-fisted portrayal of Kris and Stefanie's relationship, how Vince was treated (and how he choose to respond to that), and the questionable authenticity of some of their projects and even how they present basic gun knowledge.

** Combine a flamethrower, a WWII Congressional Medal of Honor winner, and some technical knowhow and you have what winds up being a truly touching moment when an American hero lights up a makeshift bunker.
** The crew builds a shotgun mount for a 4-wheeler for a veteran who lost the use of his arm in Afghanistan. Will, a former marine, puts the tab on the house. They then eat the boar they killed.

** The whole show is now an example of this following Will's rape convinctions.
*** Kris and Steph getting picked up for child abuse not long after certainly haven't helped.

I was about to say, but, yeah, it\'s natter. I\'m assuming that Will was talking about a simple baseline AK - the SVD and PS Ls, as above, are only based on the AK platform.

* CriticalResearchFailure: Will infamously claims that an AK "with the accuracy of a sniper rifle" has never been done before. There are, in fact, ''numerous'' variants of the AK series of rifles intended to be sniper rifes, including the SVD and PSL sniper rifles and the Iraqi Tobruk. Since the majority of Red Jacket's business is dealing in AK-pattern firearms (particularly Saigas) this is a rather shocking oversight.
** In fairness, the Dragunov SVD is not a Kalashnikov design and is quite different internally. The Romanian PSL is actually derived from the RPK machine gun rather than the AK rifle although the basic mechanisms of the PSL and AK are the same. (A lot of PSLs by the way are marked "Dragunov SVD" for the U.S. market; they're not SVDs) The Tobruk is a copy of the PSL. The PSL isn't considered to be a sniper rifle; it's classed as a designated marksman's rifle. So, Will's statement isn't qiote so outrageously wrong as implied above. Over-simplified would probably be a better description.
