** The robot baby from "Three Hedgehogs and a Baby" is infamous for this because it doesn't have the same eye pattern as most hedgehogs in the series, but has smaller, ape-like eyes. Many people have compared it to ''[[Film/SonicTheHedgehog2020 Sonic's original live-action movie]]'' design.

About consistently hated characters so hated portrayals of otherwise popular characters don't count.

* TheScrappy:
** Sonia's vain, germaphobic personality and annoying voice initially placed her squarely in this territory from the get-go. Jaleel White's voice is pretty flexible, but he probably shouldn't be playing a young girl. It eventually [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap gets subverted]], however; Sonia's bout of amnesia makes her more competent than when she was with her brothers, as well as the fact that she seems to get more CharacterDevelopment over Manic and Sonic.
** This show's version of Dr Robotnik tends to be either ignored or outright disliked [[OvershadowedByAwesome in comparison to his more popular and well known counterparts]] in ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfSonicTheHedgehog'' and ''WesternAnimation/SonicTheHedgehogSatAM''. Creator/GaryChalk giving a comparatively bland vocal characterization and feeling like a watered-down version of the latter -- despite having plenty of evil moments of his own and bouncing off of [[BumblingHenchmenDuo Sleet and Dingo]] well in their scenes -- is often cited as the main reason for this. Comparing ''Underground'''s Robotnik alongside Music/LongJohnBaldry's delightfully [[EvilIsHammy bombastic and hammy]] ''[=AoSTH=]'' version or Creator/JimCummings' notoriously [[AdaptationalVillainy more vicious counterpart]] from ''[=SatAM=]'', it's at least fairly easy to see why.

** In "Art of Destruction", Manic complains to his siblings and the recently reformed ART that the prophecy never said ''when'' they would win, and that it could be twenty years later. Given the show was cut short before they could win, and the DevelopmentHell and eventual cancellation of the epilogue meant to be in ''Sonic Universe'', it's depressing if you were a fan of the show.
