* EsotericHappyEnding: Rin is finally aware of her father's sacrifice and can live on with his memory and his final words. However, the ending is bittersweet at best, because she will still likely spend the rest of her natural life inside the virtual reality with no one to interact with. Sure, she can keep replaying her father's memories, but she will never really be able to interact with him again or even really mature emotionally, and this is assuming that the lack of human connections and/or gradually getting bored with the simulation won't start [[GoMadFromTheIsolation messing with her head]] as she grows older.

* EpilepticTrees: Some fans believe that Rin's rocket is flying to another world, due to the screens at the end showing a map of a solar system.
