As plots in the original varied to include, needing surgery on a shark, rescuing scientists trapped in the arctic, stopping a hunter from slaying a whale, saving sealab from the rare but real red tide effect, going crazy from being stuck under sea, saving sealab from a quake caused by underwater drilling and to fighting for a probe against a giant squid. YMMV but to some they'd argue aren't boring.
