* BreatherBoss: The giant ant boss is the only one that isn't a DamageSpongeBoss. Instead, you just have to break a rope bridge to drop him into oblivion.

** Hearing the screams of the victims at Chemi-Tech being turned into monsters is horrifying.

* HarsherInHindsight: The idea of an oppressive group banning ''any and all forms of media'' [[http://www.rawa.org/rules.htm did come to pass]] when the Taliban took over Afghanistan around the same time as the events of the game took place, and considering the far-reaching extent of the ban--curtailed rights for women and a ban on basically everything that's fun and entertaining--would make the NON seem quaint in comparison. And they're done it again when they occupied the country again in 2021, staring with restrictive bans on music.

** The UsefulNotes/SegaGenesis and [[UsefulNotes/SuperNintendoEntertainmentSystem SNES]] home ports of the game paled in comparison to those on the UsefulNotes/PlayStation and UsefulNotes/SegaSaturn, which were more powerful consoles and could render the game's graphics and music better. All ports also lacked light gun support (rather odd since all four systems had official light gun peripherals), removing a significant part of the game's appeal.

** The "Hacking New Order Database" sequence at the end of the Club X stage involves a dial-up modem transferring data at a 57,600 baud rate. Even before the [[TheNineties '90s]] were over, this hardware was on its way out and data speeds were rising fast.

After a while, even if they're still there, the VCR will still appear, and you'll still be able to see Steven talking to you and giving you the car keys - ''while the soldiers are shooting you'' (something that is ordinarily not possible). And what's worse, you cannot shoot back while the tape is running.
* NightmareFuel: Destroying Mondor’s limbs one by one and then blowing up his head and the rest of his body can be quite disturbing, despite that he's the boss you’re ''supposed'' to defeat in the first place. And he ''just keeps going''!

* PortingDisaster: The UsefulNotes/SegaGenesis and {{UsefulNotes/SNES}} home ports of the game paled in comparison to those on the UsefulNotes/PlayStation and UsefulNotes/SegaSaturn, which were more powerful consoles and could render the game's graphics and music better. All ports also lacked light gun support (rather odd since all four systems had official light gun peripherals), removing a significant part of the game's appeal.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The idea of a villain who wants to ban all music is actually pretty interesting. Unfortunately, the game itself is merely alright (albeit with a B-movie-esque appeal to it).
