* BrokenAesop: Emily having a moment of emotional depth to complain about how people view her behavior falls flat on its face given that Jeph had played all of that for laughs until that very strip.

**** [[http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3463 Strip 3463]] goes into more detail regarding what happened to Bubbles' squad. [[spoiler: Bubbles was incapacitated by a weaponised EMP and had to watch them die while she was utterly unable to do anything about it. This is why she allowed Corpse Witch to modify her memory.]] She also says that she suspects that that incident is largely responsible for the program which allowed AIs like her to serve in the military being cancelled.

* MisaimedFandom: You can tell that readers really weren't supposed to identify with Corpse Witch. As you can see below in TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter her passive aggressive personality was seen by many as appropriate for the setting and it was refreshing to see someone with authority put Faye in her place. Her sudden descent into over the top villainy and smugness can be seen as Jeph realizing many readers were siding with Corpse Witch and needed to put more blatant, obvious reasons for her being the unlikable villain of the arc.

** Claire. Yet another boring female character in a comic that needs more characters like humans need bullets in their brain, built solely for the most extreme level of PanderingToTheBase seen yet in QC, or another brilliant way for Jacques to introduce more LBGT characters into 'mainstream' web comics? She is now in a relationship with Marten, which has the two sides claiming that [[ShillingTheWesley she's being pushed so hard]] to pander to the base, or that she's just being treated as her own character respectively.

** Marten can also be seen as StraightMan or perhaps a non-dying DecoyProtagonist who isn't supposed to stand for one thing or another. His emasculation and [[AmericanNewspapers New York Times-esque]] move to neutrality and centrality is the result of being assigned the role as the anchor to the entire cast. Were he to move one direction or another of his own will, or were he to have a breakdown, the entire cast would be torn asunder.

* CatharsisFactor: [[http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3413 Corspewitch's punishment]] is clearly shooting for a feeling of this, with that dastardly Corpsewitch finally getting her comeuppance. It falls flat to those that feel like the build-up and Corpsewitch's sudden reveal of CartoonishSupervillainy was too sudden making the attempt for catharsis feel unearned.
