** Out of the Knight traits, the Prince Knight is considered by many to be the objectively best trait in the game. Having an automatic +1 relationship level with each Princess opens a lot of opportunities early in the game and it makes it much easier to recruit each Princess through non-violent means. Plus the drawback, that being unable to sneak into castles, is basically automatically circumvented by the above benefit. Gets even more ridiculous in NewGamePlus runs where the trait can be increased to +3, which basically means the Knight can sleep with any Princess as soon as they meet them.

** The Family Jewels item is also considered by players to be a must for every run. It can cost a bit of a princely sum, for early game, of 3500 Swirlies but its effect of giving the Knight Swirlies for each sexual encounter they have, at an average of ''500'' a pop, which considering the plethora of [[OptionalSexualEncounter Optional Sexual Encounters]] in the game, the cost of the item is payed back easily. Plus it is easily bought by the Merchant Princess as early as after the intro to the game.

* ScrappyMechanic: A few given the game having several hidden mechanics but in particular is how the Knight can't influence the Finhead Princess or Mermaid Princess to stop wars. The latter of which being more of a problem since she is ''very'' aggressive and it is very common for her to declare war and conquer a kingdom before the player even has the Sea Pass.

* ArtificialStupidity: The Skeleton Kingdom is very likely to declare war on their neighbors and end up defeated very early into the game, players who want to prevent them from reaching this fate will need to be quick in earning reputation with both them and their Princess.

Likewise, the Mermaid Kingdom will usually declare war upon Finhead Kingdom as soon as they get the chance, but in contrast to the Skeleton Kingdom, you can't use influence with either Finhead Princess nor Mermaid Princess to stop the war, often resulting in one of the two collapsing before the player can get the proper equipment to visit either of them and intervene.
