* VanillaProtagonist: As the series gained its trademark wackiness, down to earth Porky had increasing difficulty grabbing the audience compared to abrasive newcomers such as Bugs and Daffy. As such his own series gradually fizzled and he was reduced to a co star to the rest of the ensemble. For some, this is part of Porky's appeal, as let him be a strong [[TheStraightMan Straight Man]] to others' shenanigans.

Added DiffLines:

* GrowingTheBeard: His partnering with Daffy proved to be a wise decision, as it produced great "straight man/wacky sidekick" humor. This is especially true in shorts like "Thumb Fun", "The Prize Pest", "Fool Coverage", where the whole point is basically Daffy driving Porky up the wall.

* NightmareFuel: As most of the comments on [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNEd0_rm6kU this video]] can attest to, some people were freaked out by Porky's original big-eyed design in the ThatsAllFolks drum ending.

* HarsherInHindsight: Porky's stutter was originally created by his original voice actor Joe Dougherty who had a stutter in real life. Joe actually had great trouble controlling it and it lead to problems with the recording process of the shorts and lead to him being replaced by Creator/MelBlanc. Joe spent the rest of his life in obscurity, to the point where there isn't even any photographs of him anywhere. The fact that Porky's defining character trait is what lead to the death of his original voice actor's career is pretty damn sad.

* MyRealDaddy: Porky's creator Creator/FrizFreleng actually used the character rather sparsely throughout the series (even admitting later he wasn't that fond of using him), with other directors, perhaps most notably Creator/BobClampett, more responsible for developing what would be his finalized personality.

Of course Clampett was still solely in this trope, Freleng drew the line when he tried to make claim he drew Porky's original model sheet.

Deranged Animation is not YMMV and a Zero Context Example. So is Nightmare Fuel, especially with the Deranged Animation link gone.

* DerangedAnimation: WesternAnimation/PorkyInWackyland is the TropeCodifier, while WesternAnimation/PorkyInEgypt has some elements of this.

Added DiffLines:

* UnintentionallySympathetic: The most common complaint about "My Generation G-G-Gap" is that Porky spends much of the short being abused and tortured - among other things, he's sliced into three by power lines and winds up being humiliated at the end. He did NOTHING to deserve any of this, he's just worried that his daughter will get into trouble at the rock concert that he's attending!

this is Creators Pest, moving to trivia

* TheScrappy: Apparently, according to several WB sources, Porky Pig is a Scrappy to many creators and executives of the series, explaining his lack of spotlight. Director Frank Tashlin in particular thought Porky was "a terrible character", and resented most of his filmography being devoted to him compared to more abrasive and flexible characters like Bugs and Daffy. It also didn't help that by the 1940's, Porky had become more of GrumpyBear than the cute protagonist he started out to be. Less prominent with actual fans and animation buffs, who often rate Porky's cartoons highly and consider him underrated.
