** Piconjo is sometimes shipped with [[VideoGame/FancyPantsAdventure Fancy Pants Man]] due to Piconjo being Fancy Pants' only ally in ''Newgrounds Rumble''.

** [[ShapeShifting Convict]] from ''Pico vs. Convict'' (as well as a playable character in ''VideoGame/NewgroundsRumble'') also has a bit of a cult following, given how he's one of the only ''Pico'' antagonists to ''not'' be killed outright, and how he [[spoiler: successfully tricked Pico into shooting Nene instead of him at the end of his debut flash]]. Some even think he's a better antagonist than Cassandra because of this.

* EthnicScrappy: Nene can be seen as this to many fans due to her slanted eyes and AsianBuckTeeth, as seen in ''Pico Roulette''. Some fan flashes even [[FixFic change her design to make her look less stereotypical]].

* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: The cartoony artstyle might trick some, and ''Pico's School'' starts off as seemingly child-friendly, but after the opening cutscene it becomes clear that the game is about a school shooting, featuring copious violence and murder, gore, drug references, and sexual references. The same can be said of its many fan spinoffs, which are also ''not'' very child-friendly. However, that didn't stop several kids from playing the game or watching the several fan flashes associated with it as children when Newgrounds was in its heyday.

** Pico is often depicted as friends or even rivals with other [[Website/{{Newgrounds}} Newgrounds]] icons/mascots, such as [[WebAnimation/{{Tankmen}} John Captain]], [[VideoGame/{{AlienHominid}} Alien Hominid]], [[WebAnimation/{{MadnessCombat}} Hank]], and so on. One prominent headcanon is that he's related to either John or the site's portrayal of Tom Fulp in some way, usually by making them Pico's unseen father.

** Piconjo, originally created as an AuthorAvatar for the WebSite/{{Newgrounds}} user of the same name, who is Pico's [[LeanAndMean tall and pale]] EvilCounterpart. Despite the varying quality of the flashes he originally starred in, many liked him for his EvilIsCool personality and a being a huge source of FanficFuel in the form of [[MultipleChoicePast his relationship to Pico]]. While neither Piconjo the user or Tom Fulp think of him as a canon to main ''Pico'' series, the latter considers him to be an interesting part of the Newgrounds history, which was the reason why the character was included in ''VideoGame/NewgroundsRumble''. In that game, Piconjo was given a redesign by Jose "[=MindChamber=]" Ortiz, without the involvement of his creator, and while the user Piconjo disowned said design in favour of his classic depictions[[note]]With the later explanation that said disowning was a form of {{Kayfabe}} and to draw attention to the fact that Piconjo himself did not design it[[/note]], it was well-recieved by the fans. If this character shows up in a fan work, he is likely going to be based on his ''Newgrounds Rumble'' appearance.

* HilariousInHindsight: The M-rated mockery of ''Series/BearInTheBigBlueHouse'' that is ''Pico vs. Bear'' becomes very ironic with the reveal of [[https://agentjazzy.tumblr.com/post/696229891073556480/nobody-has-reposted-this-here-so-im-doing-it-bc this highly-profane outtake]] from the real deal. Even crazier, Tutter calls Ojo "hoe-bag", and her counterpart's {{parody name|s}} happens to be "Hoe-Joe"!

* MisaimedFandom: One developed back in the day - largely from children for whom Columbine was not really a thing - who thought Pico was actually some kind of a role model and didn't understand that, yeah, the world does ''not'' need people like Pico in it. Of course, this has changed over the years.

* SeinfeldIsUnfunny: The original five flashes were the pinnacle of Flash 3 programming, but are very primitive nowadays, to the point where Tom Fulp had to heavily reedit and rerelease them in 2006 just so that they would run properly on newer computers. That's to say nothing of the gratuitous gore, swearing, and violence, which were edgy in 1999 but can read as very immature and incredibly tasteless by today's standards.

* AdaptationDisplacement: Piconjo's most well-known design (with a purple and black color scheme) is actually from ''VideoGame/NewgroundsRumble'' and was drawn and written by [=MindChamber=]. Many people were introduced to Piconjo through ''Newgrounds Rumble'' and were unaware of Piconjo's existence prior or his history of being a TrollingCreator. This led to Piconjo's disownment of [=MindChamber=]'s design of him when he returned to Newgrounds, calling this depiction closer to an original character with his name than his initial self and mocking it with a WebOriginal/VirginVsChad-style comparison.[[note]]Though Piconjo has also said any depiction of Piconjo that was embraced by his fans is a valid one.[[/note]]

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The depiction of Cassandra and the goths, punks, etc. as the school shooters originated from a belief back in 1999, when there was a moral panic that the Columbine killers, which the game took inspiration from, were goths. Nowadays, this belief is discredited by the media, after many studies disproved the correlation. It was also a time when videogames were frequently used as scapegoats for violence, similar as to some reception of ''Pico's School'' and other similar games blamed after/for the Columbine shootings, most notably the ''Franchise/{{Doom}}'' series. The game, however, does have AnAesop that any form of extremism is bad when Cassandra exclaims not to really care about society aside from her own selfish reason to kill, while the rest of her goth friends are simply duped into following her thinking that she empathizes with them being outsiders. Even discriminated subgroups have their own bad apples every once in a while.

** Likewise, her appearances in some fan works replicate this. For example, in ''Pico's Time Tank'', Pico is in the middle of fighting wolf-like creatures, stops to grab her, shares a BigDamnKiss, throws her away and continues fighting, with her being forgotten for the rest of the short.

* GeniusBonus: When Pico calls Cyclops a poser, Cyclops retorts that Pico listens to techno. There was a sizable overlap in the early techno scene and the goth music scene, with many fans of one being fans of the other. This is paid off decades later in the game ''Love Conquers All'', where Pico shows he likes the same goth music that Cassandra calls "the best in all time and space" and the two bond over it.

** Nene showed no combat prowess in either ''Nene's Interactive Suicide'' or ''Pico's School''. Most fan content treats her as just as badass as Pico, or even ''stronger'' than him. ''Pico vs. Convict'' has her [[spoiler:[[CurbStompBattle easily stomping Convict]] before Pico shoots her accidentally.]]

* MisaimedFandom: One developed back in the day - largely from children for whom Columbine was not really a thing - who thought Pico was actually some kind of a role model and didn't understand that yeah, the world does ''not'' need people like Pico in it. Of course, this has changed over the years.

* ShipsThatPassInTheNight: Cassandra's most common sapphic pairing is with Nene. They never talk dirctly in the main games, with the closest interaction being Nene walking by her while greeting Pico during ''Love Conquers All''.
