--> "Oh, and by the way — I'm not sure if drum and bass is dead or dying (I've been in the studio / on tour too long to tell). However, if your genre was flimsy enough to be knocked over by ONE SINGLE RECORDING ARTIST who happened to — god forbid — sell some fucking records for the first time in about 5/6 years, then I'm glad it was us that got to drive the final stake through its stale pig shit heart — and good riddance. Wake me up when your genre is making something that people outside the scene think is worth listening to again."

While many people certainly know who Perry, Ben, and KJ are, Rob and Gareth are generally the two always interviewed for the group and are the ones who lead the group in terms of songwriting and production. In Silico having a new sound? Pendulum on hiatus? DJ set not playing in a city? It's always Rob getting the complaints and insults, whether it's on Dogs on Acid, Twitter, or Facebook.

* FanDumb: Pendulum has a very...Understatement volatile fanbase.
** When "Granite" (the first single off of In Silico) was unveiled, the "fans" on the drum & bass forum Dogs on Acid erupted in uproar, posting many insults and even death threats. After several back-and-forths between them and Rob in the topic (including Rob saying that he was really tempted to never write a drum & bass track again), Pendulum left the forum for good. There is a reason why the first song on In Silico is a massive Take That.
** Pendulum going on hiatus after Immersion caused a similar uproar, especially since it was so that Rob and Gareth could work more on Knife Party, which the [=DnB=] fans already didn't like very much. Every Knife Party-related thing Rob posted online got insults, more death threats, and cries of "bring back Pendulum", which finally culminated in Rob closing his Facebook account after posting the video for Centipede and getting a bunch of flaming. * CrowningMusicOfAwesome: So many. "Blood Sugar", "Comprachicos", "Crush", "Different" (especially live), "Hold Your Colour", "The Island", "Propane Nightmares", "Under the Waves", "Visions", "Watercolour", "Witchcraft", "The Tempest", "Granite", "Slam", "Tarantula"...these are only A FEW of their songs that are considered pretty much universally awesome.
** Rob Swire's awesome voice deserves its own bullet point. Extra points for sounding just as good live as he does in the studio.
** Even those who aren't fans of Pendulum admit that "The Island" is pretty awesome, and one of their few songs that everyone knows.
** The Tempest also gets a special mention, the album closer to In Silico, which progresses from a soft bass guitar driven intro to 4 minutes of hard rock. Then the song tops it off with 2 minutes of intense Drum and Bass.
** In a nutshell: for albums, you can start to Hold Your Colour and go all the way to Immersion.
*** You read that right: any of the songs by Pendulum are awesome. Many drum and bass fans prefer their acts to be underground, but Pendulum managed to enter in the mainstream and still managed to be very liked by the dnb fanbase, despite In Silico being first frowned upon.
** Hold Your Colour was the album that changed forever the landscape of drum and bass, In Silico perfectly blends drum and bass with electronic rock and alternative metal, and Immersion might as well just become the new gold standard album of drum and bass.
** From Immersion, there is "Self vs Self" a drum and bass/MelodicDeathMetal song made in collaboration with Music/InFlames. It is definitely bound to satisfy metalheads.
** Seriously, you can't go wrong with Pendulum.

** On a greater scale, Pendulum and the British rock scene. While the drum & bass side of the fandom lost it after In Silico (mostly coming back with Immersion), Pendulum seems to have a massive amount of respect from rock fans since then, with the general idea of "yeah, these guys are electronic, but they're just as metal as everyone else at this festival". Hilarious in Hindsight and ironic after many of the "fans" on Dogs on Acid basically told them that they weren't "hard" enough for rock fans to like them; even more so if you know Rob and Gareth's musical history: being rock musicians before being drum & bass producers.
