Rob gets this trope a bit more than Gareth: he's always the one demonstrating production/songwriting in more technically-based interviews (often by himself), and is always the one ''[[FanDumb getting bitched out by the fans]]''. ''In Silico'' having a new sound? Pendulum on hiatus? DJ set not playing in a city? It's always Rob getting the complaints and insults, whether it's on Dogs on Acid, Twitter, or Facebook.

** When "Granite" (the first single off of ''In Silico'') was unveiled, the "fans" on the drum & bass forum Dogs on Acid erupted in uproar, posting many insults and even death threats. After several back-and-forths between them and Rob in the topic (including Rob saying that he was really tempted to never write a drum & bass track again), Pendulum left the forum for good. ** Pendulum going on hiatus after ''Immersion'' caused a similar uproar, especially since it was so that Rob and Gareth could work more on Knife Party, which the [=DnB=] fans already didn't like very much. Every Knife Party-related thing Rob posted online got insults, more death threats, and cries of "bring back Pendulum", which finally culminated in Rob closing his Facebook account after posting the video for Centipede and getting a bunch of flaming. At one point, he was also blocking people on Twitter with impunity.

** The Tempest also gets a special mention, the album closer to In Silico, which progresses from a soft bass guitar driven intro to 4 minutes of hard rock. Then the song tops it off with 2 minutes of intense Drum and Bass.
** In a nutshell: for albums, you can start to ''Hold Your Colour'' and go all the way to ''Immersion''.
*** You read that right: any of the songs by Pendulum are awesome. Many drum and bass fans prefer their acts to be underground, but Pendulum managed to enter in the mainstream and still managed to be very liked by the dnb fanbase, despite ''In Silico'' being first frowned upon.
** ''Hold Your Colour'' was the album that changed forever the landscape of drum and bass, ''In Silico'' perfectly blends drum and bass with electronic rock and alternative metal, and ''Immersion'' might as well just become the new gold standard album of drum and bass.
** From ''Immersion'', there is "Self vs Self" a drum and bass/MelodicDeathMetal song made in collaboration with Music/InFlames. It is definitely bound to satisfy metalheads.
