* NightmareFuel: What we hear and see of SHU and the Psyche Ward are fairly terrifying.

** Though "most" is probably stretching it. Many shower scenes and some of the sexual scenes can more easily qualify as FanDisservice... such as anything sexual involving Boo.

* JerkassWoobie: Pornstache. One of the big causes of his jerkassery is that he's just really, really lonely; [[SelfFulfillingProphecy he's a jerkass because he's lonely and he's lonely because he's a jerkass.]]

* MoralEventHorizon: Healy has one at the end of the season finale, when he [[spoiler: turns his back on Pennsatucky knowing that she is about to try to stab Piper to death.]]

* FridgeBrilliance: At the start of electric shop, they make a point to address the tool system, and why if a tool goes missing they will know exactly who took it. However when that situation comes up, Watson gets heat for not writing down a record of who took which tool. [[spoiler:It wouldn't have mattered if she had written down each tool exchange, as Luschek was the one who gave Chapman the screwdriver - without taking her chit- at the start of class.]] Him realizing this later is likely why he [[spoiler:replaced it with a new screwdriver.]]

* TearJerker : "Your tits are better than mine." The whole scene, but Sophia's wife's comments, dear God.

** Matt McGorry, who plays John Bennett, is a professional bodybuilder.

* TheScrappy: Larry is the most commonly disliked of the main characters, despite Jason Biggs doing a rather good acting job. The reasons for the dislike seems to be both how boring and disconnected from the prison his scenes can be, how he begins to act like a complete JerkAss to Piper, or and keeping Alex and Piper apart (for fans that prefer that couple).

* TheScrappy: Larry is the most commonly disliked of the main characters, despite Jason Biggs doing a rather good acting job. The reasons for the dislike seems to be both how boring and disconnected from the prison his scenes can be, how he begins to act like a complete JerkAss to Piper, or him keeping Alex and Piper apart.
