What An Idiot is flame bait now

* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Much of the film is eye candy, from the fluidity of Shiki's dance (despite how random it is) to his climactic fight with Luffy.
* WhatAnIdiot: In the final battle with Shiki, Luffy gets trapped in a large glob of levitating water.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' Shiki to leave Luffy in the water to drown, since as a fellow Devil Fruit user, he knows Luffy is powerless and cannot swim.\\
'''Instead:''' Shiki attacks Luffy with RazorWind after monolouging at him.\\
'''The Result:''' Luffy is free to continue the fight and eventually defeat Shiki.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: Shiki for some. Most find him to be a pretty interesting villain with a good build up. The fact that he's a man that could fight on par with Roger, Sengoku and Garp made for a nice challenge to Luffy. However there are other who find that he didn't live up to the hype since his reason to antagonize the crew was petty and unwarranted, and him going after Nami making him feel like Arlong 2.0. Most likewise were split on his battles, some like the spectacles he could do with his powers, but other also found him cheap and uneven because of it. The fact that Luffy only won due to Shiki being an arrogant idiot rather than put up a struggle only adding to the argument.

Then again, you can say the same thing on about a good chunk of the arrogant villains that the Straw Hats have faced who they were not killed by...

* SoOkayItsAverage: The movie was hyped pretty hard due to Creator/EiichiroOda having written the story. But once it came out and things settled down, most just found it an okay watch. Citing the visuals and animation were great and having a very fun first half with the Straw Hats exploring the island in their separation. But finding Shiki to be underwhelming as a villain since he doesn't get a lot of screen time in fights and puts up a poor showing in the final parts of the climax after all the build up.

The One Piece wiki has not considered Strong World canon outside of Shiki himself and Chapter 0 since 2012 and the common consensus on r/One Piece and other sites is that the movie is non-canon.

* PraisingShowsYouDontWatch: The ''One Piece'' wiki made a poll for the best OP movie, and ''Strong World'' won by a landslide. Fair enough. The problem is, the poll was created ''before'' anyone had subbed the movie. Oda's involvement and its canon status automatically made it the best ''One Piece'' movie, regardless of how the film actually turned out. Granted, some fans might have seen and enjoyed the movie before it was actually subbed, but this doesn't invalidate the trope.
