* MorePopularReplacement: The New Nowhere Boys who debuted in Season 3 all had a varying levels of ReplacementScrappy for the originals, except for Luke Hamill who took the spot of Andy as the {{nerd}} and became far more popular due to having a more fun personality, being a PopCulturedBadass, and probably in part due to being played by Kamil Ellis who had been garnering a reputation in ABC television.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Ellen BrokenBase: Replacing the original Nowhere Boys with the New Nowhere Boys in Season 3. Some thought it was the right time for the old cast to step aside and let others have a shot, while others were turned off by the departure of characters they had grown attached to.

Added DiffLines:

** Phoebe as well, the reluctant TeamMom to a group of homeless teenage boys

Added DiffLines:

** Andy, Jake, and Sam all strip down to rather tight boxer briefs and swim in the woods together. That would be enough of an example itself, but Jake eventually climbs out of the water to go stand in nothing but soaking wet underwear and taunt Felix, who's fully clothed and sitting nearby. The sitting vs standing positions makes there be several shots containing only Felix's face and Jake's...uh...lower half.

Added DiffLines:

** By the time Series 2 rolls around, the boys have gained the habit of grabbing onto each other when scared. This eventually culminates in a scene of Jake, Sam, and Felix cowering behind a felled tree, Sam in the middle with one hand on Sam and Felix's respective knees, Jake grabbing Sam's hand after a jump scare and not letting go, and Felix clinging to Sam's arm the entire time. None of it is ever commented on.
** Mia questions Ellen after Sam repeatedly runs off with Felix, specifically wanting to know "why my boyfriend has such a man-crush on your boyfriend", and the only part of that sentence Ellen disagrees with is that Felix isn't technically her boyfriend.

* CrowningMomentOfFunny: Andy attempts to prove he's not an idiot... [[ItMakesSenseInContext by running headfirst into a tree]].
** Lots of the SnarkToSnarkCombat, particularly between Felix and Phoebe:
-->'''Oscar:''' I think he's an alien. He has telepathy.
-->'''Phoebe:''' Really? What am I thinking?
-->'''Felix:''' You're thinking: "I hate teenage boys, and I wish they'd stop coming into my shop."
-->'''Phoebe:''' ''[shrugs]'' Close enough.
** "Since when do protective amulets have use-by dates?" "Since they were made in Korea?"
** Andy's attempt to reassure Jake when Jake believes he's ruined his parents lives by being born:
-->"Change isn't always good. Cops have notorious cholesterol and hypertension issues. And in a survey I read, real estate agents ranked below telemarketers in terms of trustworthiness!"
* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: Sarah finding the dolphin figurine Jake left for her on Mother's Day. Just about anything between Sarah and Jake, actually.
** "This is the best BLT I've ever had!" [[{{Dissimile}} "Even without the B." "Or the L." "Or the T."]]
** The [[spoiler:spell the boy's cast to restore their mothers' health]] is a mix between this and a TearJerker:
-->'''Andy:''' “My granddad died a long time ago, and this is the only photo Mum has of him. When I was a boy, she used to tell me about his adventures. He was like a Chinese Bear Grylls.”
-->'''Sam:''' This is my mum’s favourite paintbrush. I thought about when I see her where she’s the happiest, and it’s usually when she’s painting. She gets this look on her face like… like nothing could ever touch her.”
-->'''Felix:''' “My mum’s crazy about gardening and this is her favourite tool. She calls it Sir Weedkiller. [[TearJerker Especially after Oscar had his accident, the only time she seemed happy was when she was in the garden]].”
-->'''Jake:''' “My mum got this broach from my dad on their first date. They went to a footy match and the Bandicoots won. My dad’s an idiot in our world… And this is the only piece of evidence I have to show that they ever cared for each other.”
** The season 2 finale, when Andy [[spoiler:finally returns from the other universe]]. There are group hugs, and an incredibly cute group selfie at a small party they throw for him later.

*** Episode 6 is full of Jake/Andy Ho Yay, including Jake sacrificing himself to the police to let Andy get away, and the lingering smiles they share once Jake's gotten out of the station.
** In episode 1 (in the second shot, no less) Jake and Felix are seen sleeping on top of each other. In episode 4, Jake and Andy do.

* NightmareFuel: The premise. Being completely forgotten about by your friends, family and everyone else you know, and your entire existence being erased. Especially as the series explores a lot of the FridgeHorror inherent in that premise: ie. they have nowhere to stay, no money, no food, and spend a lot of their time starving.

** Felix and Sam, sort of - Although these two both show interest in girls throughout the show, they have a few moments. Whenever the group splits up, these two are always together, and Sam often defends Felix against Jake and Andy in arguments. Felix reassures Sam and promises to get him home. The two are a bit more physically close than Jake and Andy, as after Felix passes out, Sam holds him around the waist as they walk.

**Really, the whole premise is HoYay-tastic. Four boys being forgotten about by everyone they know and love (including any female LoveInterests), living an a shack together with only each other for understanding and comfort over the situation.
