** It has been [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut#Origin.2C_domestication.2C_and_dispersal suggested with complete seriousness]] that coconuts really did migrate naturally. The claim is heavily disputed, but just being ''plausible'' is hilarious even if it's not true.

* BilingualBonus: Subverted for the Latin chanting. One might expect a comedy troupe to hide a joke there, but the monks are chanting "Pious Lord Jesus, give them rest." A perfectly reasonable and realistic thing for monks to chant under the circumstances. Their whacking themselves on the head must have been joke enough.
** Not entirely - while the boards were, the practice of self-flagellation has a ''long'' history with the Christian faith, [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagellant#The_Spread_of_Flagellation_in_the_14th_century and even peaked during the Black Plague as people sought to repent so that God would end the punishment]].

** Amusingly, this actually ''isn't even the first time'' Monty Python has ended a story by [[spoiler: having the police abruptly show up and arrest everybody]]. Their [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQFKtI6gn9Y Argument Clinic Sketch]] basically ended the same way albeit on a much smaller scale.

* PrecisionFStrike: [[ExecutiveMeddling Averted due to a censorship request]]; the script originally called for Sir Galahad to tell Tim the Enchanter to "fuck off" during the [[KillerRabbit Killer Rabbit scene]].
