* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: While there's almost no dispute that a lot of his jokes were ''written'' while high (or at least about his extensive drug use), he himself debunked the idea that he was high while performing, in true Mitch-ian fashion.
-->"Some people think I'm high when I'm on stage. I would never get high before a show, because when I'm high, I don't want to stand in front of a bunch of people that I don't know. [[PerformanceAnxiety That does not sound comfortable]]. Like, when you're high and a joke doesn't work, it's ''extra'' scary! It's like 'woah, what the hell happened there? I am retreating within myself! Why have all these people gathered? And why am I elevated? Why am I not facing the same way as everyone else? And what is this electric stick in my hand?'"

* AluminumChristmasTrees: UsefulNotes/McDonalds actually did sell spaghetti briefly in the '80s, though most people probably thought Mitch made that up for his "Stubborn [=McDonald's=] manager" bit. It's still available in the Philippines. The company has never sold blankets.

** Following Mitch's death on March 30, 2005, most of his drug-related humor became this. Also, his posthumous album, ''Do You Believe in Gosh?'' contained several jokes that he was still ironing out all the kinks to, prompting him to comment on how this joke wasn’t ready yet and that joke will be fixed in the future, etc.
** There's a bit on ''Mitch All Together'' where he cracks a joke about someone asking him "where do you see yourself in five years?" Mitch was dead less than two years after recording that album.

* HilariousInHindsight: On his first CD, he makes a lot of jokes about how the audience's laughter will be edited onto every joke, to make it look like they are laughing all the time. While that doesn't seem to be the case on the album (there are several jokes that fall flat), this is ''exactly'' what Creator/ComedyCentral did for his special. Watching the unedited version reveals that his regular 30 minutes mostly fell flat, so he stayed for another 20 and delivered some older material, which the audience responded to much better, and the network mixed the two together.
