* AluminumChristmasTrees: UsefulNotes/McDonalds actually did sell spaghetti briefly in the '80s, though most people probably thought Mitch made that up for his "Stubborn [=McDonald's=] manager" bit. It's still available in the Philippines. The company has never sold blankets, though.
* FountainOfMemes: Pretty much everyone in Generation Y knows his stand-up routines by heart.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: Too many of his bits to list. The consensus choice for his albums is ''Mitch All Together,'' but the other two are still pretty funny.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** Following Mitch's death on March 30, 2005, most of his drug-related humor became this. His posthumous album, ''Do You Believe in Gosh?'' contained several jokes that he was still ironing out all the kinks to, prompting him to comment on how this joke wasn't ready yet and that joke will be fixed in the future.
*** Another cringe-inducing moment from the album has Mitch [[ItMakesSenseInContext receiving answers to his questions from an audience member, Phil, before he asks them]] when the following exchange takes place:
-->'''Phil:''' Downhill!\
'''Mitch:''' Hey, Phil, [[SelfDeprecation which way is my career going]]?
** There's a bit on ''Mitch All Together'' where he cracks a joke about someone asking him "where do you see yourself in five years?" Mitch was dead less than two years after recording that album.
* HilariousInHindsight: On his first CD, he makes a lot of jokes about how the audience's laughter will be edited onto every joke, to make it look like they are laughing all the time. While that doesn't seem to be the case on the album (there are several jokes that fall flat), this is ''exactly'' what Creator/ComedyCentral did for his special. Watching the unedited version reveals that his regular 30 minutes mostly fell flat (the audience was taking a long time to warm up to his jokes), so he stayed for another 20 and delivered some older material, which the audience responded to much better, and the network mixed the two together.
* SignatureLine: His best known joke is probably "I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too."
* SpiritualSuccessor: His one-liner surreal wordplay has been compared to Creator/StevenWright.
