* CrossesTheLineTwice: [[spoiler:Dabi and Daken's VillainsOutShopping moment in chapter 60. Daken accidentally cutting a guy in half (guts dripping on the floor and all of that) and Dabi threatening to burn a woman alive shouldn't be funny, but this single display of genuine VillainousFriendship between two of the most apathetic members of the League manages to come out as both hilarious and kinda heartwarming in a very messed way.]]

* MoralEventHorizon: While Gorr undoubtedly crossed the line with his atrocities way before the story begins, during it he does so by killing the demi-human children at the Half-Blood Camp.

** Hirona becomes as well. While she goes back and forth being insecure and tragic, she also presents herself as an endearing dork with her fangirl antics with Nagant.

** Izuku himself acknowledges he is not a completely sane person, we are talking about a boy whose only friends were his LiteralSplitPersonality clones. Still, he is a brilliant strategist genius who always manage to overcome the odds, with the most outrageous solutions.

** [[spoiler:The Ghost Rider, per usual. Arriving at the fight on Hosu, and quite literally unleashing Hell upon Stain and Gorr, the Spirit of Vengeance is arguably the best example of this on the story.]]

* EpilepticTrees: Ever since MHA characters started to gain Marvel power-ups, fans came to the conclusion Toga will become the new Carnage. [[spoiler:Said theory became more popular after the reveal that Venom and Carnage symbiotes were locked below the I-Island tower and after Setsuna became She-Venom.]]

** The League gets this treatment, with Hirona being competent than Tomura in early canon, not to mention the addition of Nagant so early in the story. It gets even better by the time they include Marvel characters to their ranks.

** The bull criminal from the first chapter that returns on I-Island is nicknamed "Bullkugo" for his similarity with the explosive blonde.

** With ''Fanfic/BackToTheBeginning''. The authors are fan of each other's works and often exhange ideas about each other.

* GeniusBonus: In Chapter 60, it's revealed that the Venom Symbiote had four hosts before the story begun: Peter Parker, Eddie Brock, Flash Thompson and someone named Marshall. There is no with this name listed as Venom's previous host in the comics, until your realize that "Marshall" stands for "Marshall Bruce Mathers III", best known as Music/{{Eminem}}, who provided the end credits sing for ''Film/Venom2018''. And for extra bonus, Izuku is actually listening ''Venom'' by Eminem on the flight to I-Island in chapter 50. Looks like the singer's time with the symbiote provided him inspiration for one of his best hits.

** Chapter 58 reveals that [[spoiler:David Shield has been replaced by a Skrull, and according to the author, this happened at least a couple years before canon. This chapter was released six days after the poorly received ending of ''Series/SecretInvasion2023'', where it was never fully clarified when the infiltrators replaced the originals. The author wasn't particularly excited to reveal it, afraid people wouldn't take a Skrull reveal well so soon after such a badly developed show, but viewers actually appreciated and considered way better than what the TV series delivered, leaving opportunity for a SavagedStory.]]

** Chapter 69 features Mustard trapping Izuku and several of his classmates in a series of nightmarish illusions to made out of their worst fears. In ''WesternAnimation/XMen97'' Episode, "Fire Made Flesh" has [[spoiler:Madelyn Pryor]] doing the exact same thing with the X-Men.

** Shoto, Momo and Kyoka bonding over the boy's newfound love for music (with the ShipTease happening at the same time) becomes this after the ''WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021'' episode, "What If... Peter Quill Attacked Earth's Mightiest Heroes?", where a young Peter Quill and Hope van Dyne bond over their love for 80s music. Whether the former can be seen in a romantic or platonic light, depends on the viewer.

** All Might's duel with Thor during with during the Final Exams gets a lot funnier when you realize that the two heroes are no only similar in terms of being blonde, blue-eyed, hot-bloodded, [[LargeHam Large Hams]], and the most powerful heroes of the world, but also because both of them are voiced by Creator/KentaMiyake. Imagine how hillarious voicing this fight would sound.

** Back in Chapter 22, Shoto, in his ConspiracyTheorist mindset, wondered if Sero wasn't related to Spider-Man. [[spoiler:In Chapter 57, Sero gets bitten by a radioactive spider and gains powers similar to Spider-Man's.]]. Later on Chapter 28, he wonders if Izuku is aware of any secret alien force invading Earth. [[spoiler:The following chapter reveals that the Skrulls are already infiltrated on several levels of Earth's infraestructure.]] This last one can be either HarsherInHindsight or just a really a fine example of BlackComedy. Or both.
** Several elements from the I-Island arc would also appear in the ''WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021'' ChristmasEpisode, "What If... Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?", such as the entire DieHardOnAnX situtation, mercenaries attacking the place, Iron Legion drones going rogue, someone doning the Hulkbuster and [[spoiler:one of the heroes being accidentally injected with a replica of the Super Soldier serum (in ''Mischief'' Sero gains Spider-Man powers, while Bakugo gains Nitro's; in ''What If'' Happy gets injected with Hulk serum)]]. Ironic enough, the episode itself one is of the most comedic ones while the I-Island arc is of the darkest arcs of the story so far.

** Denki and Setsuna get the couple name of "Dino Thunder", a reference to the ''Power Rangers'' [[Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder season of same name]], because Setsuna loves dinossaurs and Denki is the [[spoiler:Prince of Thunder.]]

* IKnewIt: From the moment I-Island had an egytptian exposition, [[spoiler:many fans accurately predicted that Moon Knight would join the cast, and that Fumikage would be his host.]]

** Mustard. The kid suffers from a serious case of EvilCannotComprehendGood, to the point he doesn't understand why it's not okay for a ''hero'' student not to use their targets greatest fears to get an advantage, but it mainly rooted in the abuse he suffered ever since his Quirk came in, being locked in his house's basement and having no interactions with people of his age until he met the League. It doesn't make any of his actions forgivable, but it's hard not to feel sorry for him.

* MemeticLoser: Mustard. From the moment he made his intentions to come off as the "superior MasterOfIllusion" against Izuku, all readers immeadiatly knew he would fail miserably when he tried to take on the Prince of Mischief. Come Chapter 69, and it turns out the fight was so one-sided, it barely quailifies as a CurbStompBattle.
* MoralEventHorizon: While Gorr undoubtedly crossed the line with his atrocities way before the story begun, during it he does so by killing the demi-human children at the Half-Blood Camp.

* SalvagedStory: Amongst the main complains from Marvel fans regarding ''Film/ThorLoveAndThunder'' is that from a man with the title "The God Butcher", Gorr doesn't really butchers any gods on-screen during his RoaringRampageOfRevenge other than his first victim, and even then, [[AssholeVictim it was totally deserved.]] Here though, we get to see it, starting with the [[JerkassGod jerks from Omnipotence City]] to the [[DeathOfAChild demi-god children from Camp Half-Blood]], and it's brutal. The story really makes Gorr earn his title.

** Wolverine and Laura's appearance, as well as their eventual addition as recurring story members was praised by readers. Colossus joinning him was also well-received.

** While it was expected that Marvel characters would also join the League to make up for the ones on the heroes side, [[spoiler:no one expected big names like Daken, Taskmaster and ''Kraven the Hunter'']], to be the first ones.

** The Guardians of Galaxy becoming the students mentors during the Trainning Camp and said camp happening in Knowhere out of all places was highly praised for its originality and creativity.

** In Chapter 49, [[spoiler:Kraven manages to swiftly defeat Shishido on a rooftop before Taskmaster executes the hero with a bullet in the head.]] Months later, in ''VideoGame/MarvelsSpiderMan2'' mission, ''Don't Be Scared'' features [[spoiler:Venom facing off against Kraven, before killing the hunter by eating his head off, on a rooftop at Times Square.]]

** Fumikage [[spoiler:after becoming the new Moon Knight]] started being called "Torgil", a word play with "Vergil" from ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'', since not only he immediately gained the status of MemeticBadass upon his introduction, but also because everyone agrees that his and Dark Shadow's {{Leitmotif}} would be Vergil's theme song, "Bury the Light".

** [[spoiler:Bakugo earned the nickname "Creator/MichaelBay" after accidentally receiving a shot of super soldier serum based on [[MadeOfExplodium Nitro]] during the I-Island arc.]]

** Several elements from the I-Island arc would also appear in the ''WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021'' ChristmasEpisode, "What If... * JerkassWoobie: Hirona Shigaraki, [[spoiler:previously known as Hana Shimura. Accidentally killed by her own brother, ressurected by the God of Mischief]] to serve as an unwilling apprentice to All for One, whom he constantly compares unfavorably to Tenko in order to drive her hatred for society further, Hirona ends up taking an even tragic turn than Tenko went through in canon.

** The Guardians of Galaxy becoming the students mentors during the Trainning Camp and said camp happening in Knowhere out of all places was highly praised for its originality and creativity.

The fact that [=KageNekem=] privately admitted that a relationship between the three characters might start being teased during the Guardians Trainning Camp arc only added fuel to it.

* EvilIsSexy: [[spoiler:Readers comemented that Setsuna become a lot more attractive after becoming the story version of She-Venom. Although is {{downplayed}}, since Venom is not evil in here.]]

* CrossoverShip: Piotr Rasputin and Midnight.

* CrossesTheLineTwice: [[spoiler:Dabi and Daken's "bonding exercise" in chapter 60. Daken accidentally cutting a guy in half (guts dripping on the floor and all of that) and Dabi threatning to burn a woman alive shouldn't be funny, but this single display of genuine VillainousFriendship between two of the most apathethic members of the League manages to come out as both hillarious and kinda heartwarming in a very messed way.]]

** Since the story is set so far into the future, it's expected at least one ''MHA'' character to be a LegacyCharacter to a Marvel. No one expected, however, that Rock Lock, out of all people, to be the current Black Panther.

*** [[spoiler:Going along, the surprise appearance of his ''Ultimate'', Yellowjacket, Absorbing Man and MCU counterparts also caught readers off guard. There is also Ultrog, the gorilla version of the character that debuts in chapter 57.]]

* HarsherInHindsight: Hawks interactions with the kids during the final exam. It's great to see a fan favorite character joining the story officially, but it takes a bitter note, considering it came one day after chapter 385 of the manga, [[spoiler:where All for One steals Hawks' Quirk and leaves him and all the heroes at Gunga Mountain near dead.]]
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: Izuku and Ochako's LoveConfession on chapter 43 happened on the same week that the two of them had one at ''Fanfic/BackToTheBeginning'' and ''Fanfic/ToCrossTheLine''. The three authors commented that it was a complete and happy accident.
