She isn't considered a target (at least not to the reader's knowledge anyway) but her endearing personality, her love of the Genji story, the fact that she will support her friends in any way possible and that she's best friends with Asahi makes her a very strong character. It helps too that she's very attractive and has a very cute little sister.

* WriterCopout: Yuu Tokonatsu suddenly moving away to Osaka is this. At this point in the story, Yuu and Terumi were in a healthy relationship where it looked like the two could have gone on to live a happy life together. The sudden need to move away was introduced in the story simply to break Yuu and Terumi apart without having to go through some sort of break-up phase in the relationship, and have Terumi move onto next girl in the ''Tale of Genji'' plan.

** Several readers denounce Chuujou Tsukasa as an unlikeable slut due to torturing poor Terumi into having his current phobia and for sleeping with any guy she thinks is popular. However, she also has similar qualities to Terumi and arguably her mere presence moves the story along in an interesting manner. Tsukasa herself has many sides to her personality, making many of her fans looking forward to whenever she shows up again.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Some women Terumi meets in the story have a lot of popularity going for them, despite only being background characters:
** Chuujou Tsukasa is this for some fans. Despite her arc only being a means for Terumi to get over his past fear, she has already made an impression amongst readers and some are hoping that she would play a much larger role in the plot other than being an antagonist. Some are even saying that she hook up with Terumi by story's end, as that would be delicious irony for her to end up with the man she bullied and the fact that Terumi and her share some similar qualities.
** Tsukiko is another one. She isn't considered a target (at least not to the reader's knowledge anyway) but her endearing personality, her love of the Genji story, the fact that she will support her friends in any way possible and that she's best friends with Asahi makes her a very strong character.
