* WTHCastingAgency: In all things X-Men recently, Creator/SteveBlum has been the voice of Wolverine. In the Marvel Anime X-Men serial, he's also voiced by Blum... but ''not in Marvel Anime: Wolverine,'' or any of Wolvie's cameos in the other serials for that matter, in which ''Creator/MiloVentimiglia'' voices him, and Creator/SteveBlum voices ''his EnigmaticMinion rival.'' Ooookay, that happened...
** WordOfGod claims that they were aiming for a younger voice to match Logan's younger looking Hugh Jackman-ish design rather than his traditional look but retained Blum as Logan on the X-Men story.

One important detail about this anime series is that they have differing reviews, so may as well list those.

Added DiffLines:

* BrokenBase:
** Fans are divided as to which particular anime surpasses the other and vice versa.
** All four anime shows, as well as the movies, are divisive in terms of loyalty and faithfulness to the source material.

Again, needed to list a trope and another important explanation. Don’t remove it.

Added DiffLines:

* TheScrappy: This version of Logan/Wolverine was not very well received by fans, particularly for his {{Bishonen}} appearance and his slender, delinquent PrettyBoy image. Likewise, his voice acting from Creator/MiloVentimiglia was also reviled, with many criticizing him as completely unfit to play Wolverine, despite what the creators intended (see below). Many fans lamented that Creator/SteveBlum, the man most famous for voicing Wolverine, was not even remotely considered for voicing the role, despite him repeatedly proving his vocal versatility, and instead had him voice someone else entirely. Fortunately, by the time the X-Men anime was made, Blum was back to being his famous role to life once again, complete with his standard gruff, hairy, [[HeroicBuild bulky]] appearance that is more familiar with fans.

** Subverted by the Hungarian dub of ''Anime/IronMan''. Tony's voiced by the same actor as in the [[Film/IronMan movies]] (as is generally every character that appeared in movie adaptations), but his performance is so different, lacking all the slick charm, that some thought they had replaced him with an untalented no-name.

* CompleteMonster: Hideki Kurohagi, a SmugSnake who is perfectly willing to execute people with nerve toxins for minor failures, hide behind his own fiancee to save his skin, slap said fiancee around for still wanting her boyfriend before she was kidnapped by her father for this ArrangedMarriage, and who murdered his own father to seize control of his criminal empire.
* FridgeLogic: So, Yui Sasaki is confronted by the fact that her son Takeo is a RealityWarper. His father, who doesn't know he exists yet, is a powerful telepath who has dedicated his life to helping mutants learn to control their powers and use them safely. So, clearly the best thing to do is to ensure he never finds out about Takeo, make her son erase his existence from the minds of everyone around him, lock him up in a research center out in the middle of nowhere, and start working madly on an "anti-X-Gene retro virus", a process that requires killing who-knows-how-many other mutants to use their tissues to culture it in. Can lean into WhatAnIdiot territory.

** A reason for the Hungarian Marvel fans to celebrate -- as the dubbing translator was a fan of the franchises himself, he finally restored the classic name translations from the original comics, shattering the reign of the despised name changes introduced by the dubs of the '90s animated shows, that then went on to spread into the live-actions films and into through those into the public's mind. Wolverine will be Wolf no more.
