* AmericansHateTingle: Tsubame is significantly less popular with Western readers than Japanese ones. While she placed second in the 2014 poll on Minatosoft's website, she has a divided audience at best among English readers. They believe that she has poor chemistry with Yamato by making him uncharacteristically submissive, that the story hypes her too much and that she's far too easily forgiven for her deceptive and selfish behavior.

* CrazyAwesome: Momoyo. She is a GodModeSue that pulls out NewPowersAsThePlotDemands, but manages to make both of these tropes work because of how hilariously one-sided her fights are and how silly the powers she pulls out are, including a self-destruct attack which has its side effects negated by a HealingFactor.

* CreatorsPet: The Itagaki siblings certainly seem to be this since they keep appearing in routes that they otherwise have nothing to do with. It's also fair to call Tatsuko's route the "Itagaki route" since Yamato ultimately ends up hooking up with all three of the sisters. (In fact, he spends more time having sex with ''Angel'' than Tatsuko)

* {{Sequelitis}}: Some would argue that the original Majikoi is the only good one ([[FirstInstallmentWinsor at the very least the best one]]), but setting that aside, the A-4 fandisk is generally considered to be the weakest installment. It has less content than earlier releases, one heroine was rather minor, of little interest to most fans and had a short and overall quite subpar route. The second heroine, while popular and highly anticipated, also had an overall disappointing route with wonky plot direction, romance and writing.

** Chris talking proudly about how her great-grandfather fought ''for the just cause in the battle of Stalingrad'' shows how little the authors know and understand about European history. That or Chris is actually a neo-nazi.
*** Alternatively it could be that they have a different history.
*** It's shown quite often that Chris knows almost everything there is to know about Japan... and almost nothing about Europe. In A-1, it even calls into question whether or not she could speak German.
** In the Miyako Route, the gang goes to Canada and enters a casino in Niagara Falls. In Canada however, the legal gambling age is 19 (18 in three provinces) but Cap (who's a second year in highschool) goes off to play roulette. Similarly, in the Chris Route, when Chris gets pseudo-drunk on Kawakami water, Yamato seems insistent on reminding Margit that its non-alcoholic which is strange considering in Germany, the legal drinking age is 16, so one would think that teenage drinking wouldn't be as big of a social taboo for Margit and Chris.

stunningly ignorant about Japan... and almost nothing about Europe. In A-1, it even calls into question whether or not she could speak German.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: In Umeko's route, after she and Yamato have a conversation and she's left, Koyuki shows up for some reason, says "Yay yay!" and...leaves. Maybe she just really wanted to cameo?

** Koyuki is already creepy enough in the visual novel, but the manga makes her downright sinister. She has some very harsh words towards Wanko and, during their fight, she makes a [[http://www.mangareader.net/maji-de-watashi-ni-koi-shinasai/14/24 rather disturbing face.]] It's taken even further during the Kawakami War where she easily destroys a ramapging Kuma. It's easy to say that she's basically a force of nature by that point.
