** Arguably just as bad is the fact that his entire relationship with Taretha would be considered physical and sexual abuse in any modern court. Threatening someone with the life of her surrogate brother and with exposing the fact that someone close to her had nursed him (which would be seen as monstrous to most humans on Azeroth) in order to make them take beatings and sleep with them is just as bad as any other form of beating/rape.

Narm is for specific moments only, this entry is too general.

* {{Narm}}: Some might find Christie Golden's prose to be replete with this. But the manner in which the Orcs talk is a more particular example of this.

* WhatAnIdiot: Durotan, why did you think taking your wife and child with you on that perilous journey to Doomhammer was a good idea? Needless to say, this act leads to his son being enslaved by humans.
** His wife, Draka, insisted that she accompany him and that she would not be left behind. And they brought their son because he was a newborn and needed to be with his mother.

* NeverLiveItDown: Blackmoore's handling of the internment camps ended up coloring the humans of the Alliance [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters as a corrupt, racist people who treat orcs as slaves and force them to fight each other for their amusement]]. This is despite the fact that novel makes it clear that the orcs' lethargy was due to them embracing the demons in the first place, and that Thrall knows about the Old Horde's atrocities upon the humans to the point of punishing any orc who tries to continue the old ways of war.

* {{The Dog Shot First}}: While the novel's depiction of humans is bad, the novel is set after two wars the orcs started first, and the orcs were still responsible for mass murder and enslavement of intelligent beings (the dragons). Even the current {{retcon}} paints the orcs as invading Azeroth because they very nearly destroyed their own world, which could have been avoided by refusing to cooperate with the Legion.

Cut for having no context; if anyone wants to re-add, discuss it here first.

* CompleteMonster: Blackmoore is an annoying little SmugSnake for most of the book, but by the end there's literally nothing redeemable about him.
** In fairness, a lot of this is down to no one in his life ever showing him any respect despite all his efforts. Thrall later reflects on that Blackmoore did indeed make a particular effort to treat him as nicely as he knew how. It's just that he wasn't very good at it.
** He does later concede that the last beating he gave Thrall might have been a little much.
